Nice cosy place with decent food

We were in London for a week and discovered this wonderful restaurant. The food was very good. I haven't eaten such delicious Turkish food in a long time. If you're in London, I think you should definitely stop by here. We'd love to come back.

If you're heading to see Hamilton, then book the pre-theatre set menu here! The starter meze plate was amazing and so tasty. We thought the chicken main course was going to be only OK but it was so tasty. We were in and out so fast and we were in perfect time for the show and only a short stroll (to walk off the food!) to the theater.

Great food, and have a prefix if you need to get to the play on time. Service was excellent.

After 15 years, still one of the best Turkish restaurants in town. The sultan's shish kebab and the borek are my favourites. Reasonably priced too. Love it

A pleasant environment suited our taste.

Would have been great if Bulgur was on the menu. Some great dishes, a little bit cold but did warm up a little towards the end.

I’ve been to Kazan pre-Covid and had a lovely time. I’ve come back again a few years later still as great and the food is amazing! Staff were super friendly and checking up on us. Would highly recommend

Conocimos a nuestro hijo para una cena de cumpleaños. Fuimos los primeros en llegar y recibimos una bienvenida muy cálida. Estaban muy contentos de darnos agua del grifo durante nuestra comida. Mientras mi marido tomaba un par de cervezas turcas. La comida era variada y bastante deliciosa. Con una mezcla de meze y una buena selección de platos principales. Todos disfrutamos de la experiencia gastronómica y sin duda volvería.

The quality of the food is amazing. Fresh and high quality produce, you can really taste it when eating. I was lucky enough to meet the head chef Mehmet. He was very polite and served us delicious food. The front of house staff are welcoming. There are 3 separate rooms so waiting for a table wasn’t a problem, we didn’t have to wait for a seat, we walked in a was seated immediately. This is nice considering how busy the restaurant can get! Atmosphere is great for dates, birthdays and special occasions. Definitely will recommend to everyone! Thanks again

Mi hermana y yo sacamos a mi madre por su cumpleaños. Tuvimos el set - precio almuerzo, que era absolutamente delicioso. El camarero fue amable, se aseguró de que no me dieron nada con pimiento (campanilla) (ya que tengo alergia) , e incluso sacaron un poco de baklava con una vela en ella. Gracias Kazan, nos lo pasamos muy bien.

Repéré quelques heures avant en se promenant sans avoir réservé, nous avons eu de la chance d'avoir une table à 20 heures. Les plats sont bons et généreux ( nous avons partagé le plat principal après avoir vu ceux de nos voisins ! )

Very cosy, and the restraunt felt like a Ottoman style restruant and the staff were very friendly, as it felt the staff were not in a robotic mode which is becoming rare these days in the hospitality industry in London. I has Adana Kofte (Spicy Lamb), the lamb mince was nice, but it was very mild spicy, and the chips had a little bit too much salt. Also it a shame they used 12.5% service charge, because i would have given them a tips for their excellent service. Overall excellent service and a decent Turkish/Ottoman restraunt.

Visited again for lunch after over 5 years. Glad to see it lived up to memory. Service was great, food delicious. We ordered the pre theatre menu which was great value for money, it included starter meze platter which had fresh tasty dips, falafel and delicious borek. The mains had many options we went for the chicken and rice which was light but hearty and great flavours. We also opted for the additional dessert platter which had brownie, ice cream, baklava and a date pudding really really a decadent mouth watering treat. The mains and starter had been so filling we only ordered one of the deserts platter. All portions where very generous. All food was plated beautifully. The lychee sparkling mocktail was refreshing. Halal which is a bonus!!!! We will be back for sure. Our bill came to 37.70 each, which felt decent for what was offered. In addition to whats listed above my friend ordered the rajah tea and sparkling water.

I came here with some friends earlier in the month, I wanted something meaty and this place delivered. It's a fantastic restaurant where the staff are extremely attentive and friendly. The ottoman feast, cold and hot mezze, selection of grills are amazing. I left the restaurant feeling extremely full which is rare. If you're in the victoria area and you want to eat Turkish food, come here. You will not be disappointed.

The ambience is very pleasant and nicely done, without a lot of kitsch. Unfortunately, I was missing subtle background music. The food is very tasty and recommended. The dessert is also a must try! The staff was very attentive.

More than a real restaurant, it is a take away with a few tables for eating on site. Apart from this, the place offers more than decent (and plentiful) Turkish food, from lamb to chicken, from salads to typical sauces, it is all of a good standard and at more than affordable prices, and the welcome is absolutely polite and friendly. at the same time. It's just a shame it's not in a central area (we are between Victoria park and Hackney Wick).

Of all the restaurants visited in 2024, the service level at this establishment greatly exceeded all others. Food was good, service was exceptional. This is what good looks like.

Went for a team meal in December and the service was really good and the food tasty. We ordered as a table of 9 and was able to order from the A La Carte menu without a minimum order other than the £10 deposit required for reservation which was used against the final bill. It came to around £30pp inc. service charge for shared starters, individual mains, drinks and shared desserts. Do recommend if you’re looking for a place to take the team, the vibe inside was nice too!

I booked Kazan for my partner’s 30th birthday, having found the restaurant by chance. The manager Sebastian was so lovely from the moment I met him and accommodated every single request I had - he went above and beyond to make the evening a success for the party (35+ people) We had the Noel Baba set menu and the food was DELICIOUS! I specifically the mezze for starters and chicken thighs for mains, and I’m salivating just thinking about it! The brownie was also delicious. All the guests thoroughly enjoyed the meal and the ambience was perfect. On the night, Hamza was a fantastic server: super attentive, very fast with requests and super patient with us. Staff that weren’t even serving the party were all so kind and warm. Thank you soooo much Kazan for making the party a success! Will definitely be back again. 🥰

Amazing food and great atmosphere! We’ve been going to Kazan for family dinners for many years and it never disappoints. We went as a big group yesterday and they were very hospitable and the food was great!

Average, nothing special. Most central London eateries are going to be fairly average from my experience. It's London, it's expensive. Urban desert especially around Victoria station.

This restaurant is a bit tricky to rate due to its inconsistency. Here’s my breakdown: The Positives: • The restaurant has a lovely ambiance, and the waitstaff are polite, professional, and attentive. • The chicken shish is absolutely exceptional—tender, flavorful, and easily the best I’ve ever had. • The lamb shish and chop are equally outstanding, with incredible tenderness and taste. The Negatives: • The lamb kofte was just average. I wouldn’t order it again. • The chicken kofte was disappointing, well below average. Frankly, it doesn’t deserve a spot on the menu. • The baklava was overloaded with walnuts, which is not to my taste and the ice cream was too sweet. It would be better if renamed to reflect its unique style, as it doesn’t resemble traditional baklava. Despite these drawbacks, I will definitely return for the chicken and lamb shish—they’re worth a revisit!

We had the perfect mezze lunch - Kazan is recommended for people who want to TALK to each other- soft background music - great acoustics - you can hear what your friends are saying. Beautiful toilet on ground level and delicious food.

Food is below average for turkish restaurant. Small portions. Rice and salad coming with the mains were dry and tasteless.

Pleasant evening in Kazan at around 6:30 with a friend. Loved the dim light and faint music in the background vibe - definitely helped unwind after a busy work day. I didn't check the menu beforehand so was slightly surprised about how pricey it was.. but the food is quality and the service is speedy so I guess as a whole, it was worth it. Would be great to have a smoothie option or at least diversify your nonalcoholic drink section. But overall pleasant restaurant with good food.

The food is the very definition of mediocre, though the revolting chili sauce deserves special mention. Service and everything else fine.

We were surprised by the atmosphere of the restaurant, Mr. Sebastian welcomed us very warmly. The food was delicious, appetizingly presented. Very nice and pleasant atmosphere, great service. We will definitely go back there again. We highly recommend visiting this place. Monika&Tomek.

I'n very fond of Turkey and its food, so pleased to find this place. A bit surprised to be greeted by a Polish chap, (!) but some of the sytaff were Turkish and the food seemed very authentib - but better cooked than mu experiencem and served hot! Bunch of us had the full -om " Ottoman Feast" - some of everything. The cold meze were the standad set, but as good as I've ever had. We were a bit thrown by the hot meze courses all arriving at one - a daunting quantity of meat! - but it was all beautifully done, washed down with Tukish beer. Outstanding!Bu

We had a fantastic pre-theatre lunch. The "healthy lunch" was a real treat, made up of lots of lovely things.

This is a fairly smart place. We were placed on couched seating in a corner which I personally dislike as you have to slide in and out of your seat and it feels claustrophobic. We were given complimentary bread and olives at first. Clearly one can only speak to the quality of what was ordered not the whole menu but this place is typical of other Turkish and Mediterranean restaurants (grilled meat, set platters, limited vegetarian and vegan choices). We ordered jackfruit kofte, falafel, lentil soup, chicken shish, vegetable moussaka and mint lemonade drinks (plenty of alcoholic drinks available). I only enjoyed the jackfruit kofte. Dessert was better with a good selection on offer, again typical (baklava etc.). We had firin sutlac and ice cream. I recommend the former which was lovely especially with an English tea. The service was adequate but after being given the bill the waiter vanished without having presented the card reader so I had to fetch the maître d. The restaurant is not as lush as I would expect for a Turkish place having been to Istanbul before and I disliked the distinct lack of classical Ottoman music being played. This prevented the proper ambience from being present in the restaurant and instead the incessant conversations of the other diners was all I could mainly hear (plus at one point a baby was screaming) other than when talking (discreetly) myself. Whilst I didn't use the bathroom facilities myself I was told it is very small and claustrophobic. A 12.5% service charge is automatically added to every bill requiring you to ask for it to be removed which is somewhat embarrassing for customers. This is not an honourable way to treat diners.

This had wonderfully delicious food! Everything was seasoned and cooked well! The lamb was especially good in my opinion. However we enjoyed it all! The mezze is nice if you want some refreshing dips. The mixed grill was good for trying various things. The sultans grill comes on a good platter which was just plain fun! The desserts were good! Very different and interesting to try so that was nice. The service was excellent. They were super attentive and made sure to give us anything we needed. The atmosphere was fitting for a Turkish restaurant. It was fairly quiet but it made for a lovely evening. There was plenty of room in the restaurant as well!

Went for dinner with friends. Cozy place and good menu.Food was great. Ordered the tasting mezze platter and lentil soup. For the main two people can share a platter. Service was excellent. We had Parth as our server and he was very attentive and made our dining experience good. Would definitely recommend this place.

One the best Turkish restaurants I’ve been! I’ve tried grilled cheese, borek as starters, and chicken shish as a main. Food was delicious and our waitress was friendly and helpful. Of course we didn’t leave without dessert. If you don’t sweet baklava, syllabub is a good option. I quite liked interior and cozy ambiance. Also enjoyed the fact that music wasn’t too loud and we could easily chat. Definitely come back at some point!

Arrived quite late in the evening but no problem with entry. Seated by very friendly servers. Food was absolutely delicious with good portions and well presented. The wine menu is very good too and has a great selection of spirits. The bill was slightly more than we expected but felt it was worth it due to the location and the fantastic friendly staff and felt under no pressure to leave after we finished our meal. Thank you to all the staff for a lovely evening.

I went for my birthday, everyone was very professional and receptive, and they gave me a traditional dessert with rose ice-cream as a courtesy. Thank you for the lady who served us all night. Everything was delicious, I had a ribs, which they cook for hours, it's delicious!!! Very tasteful. But my uncle and aunt didn't like the falafel, they said it wasn't tasting well. My brother had a burger which chips, my cousin a soup, and the rest of them I don't remember the name of the places I'm sorry. But I do recommend this restaurant, as a calm place with instrumental music only, low lights and calm people too, I felt very welcoming and happy there.

Super find! We had a gorgeous meal here before heading off to the Theatre, the cold mezze, lamb and chicken kofte and the baklava with rose ice cream, absolutely delicious! Service was fantastic and very reasonably priced - will definitely visit again when next in London! Wouldn't hesitate to recommend.

My partner and I had a table for his birthday celebration yesterday evening. We were warmly welcomed and seated promptly. Alam, who looked after our table, was incredibly friendly and attentive. She was also very helpful with the menu. We really appreciated the surprise birthday dessert with a candle! The drinks and food were beautifully presented and tasted amazing. The portion sizes were perfect, not too big or too small. It was definitely worth a visit, and I strongly recommend it!

Excellent restaurant, lovely food. So rare to find a good independent restaurant in central London serving good food at reasonable prices. We were a group of 6 friends who all had the Healthy Lunch menu which is fantastic value - a good choice of dishes, well presented, accompanied by lovely hot Turkish bread. The baklava with rose ice cream is the perfect dessert. And a big plus for us is that there wasn't loud background music. Staff are pleasant, helpful and not overbearing. Will definitely go back.

12.5% service charge!? We tried the kofta kebab and chicken, and the quality was very poor - undercooked inside and burned outside. We couldn't even eat the main course (only managed the starter) but still paid over £150 for three of us! Not recommended, and we won't be returning. P.S. This is not a true Turkish restaurant!

Nice surprise in pizza dominated area. Authentic dishes and super helpful staff. A bit pricey but you discover new flavors.

Great restaurant and fantastic quality of food. I had a booking on Fri 26th July at 7.15 pm for ten people. The complimentary bread was warm, and tasty. We all ordered different items as the menu had a vast amount of choice from meat, fish to vegetarian. The drinks including the cocktails were lovely . Arriving London a Tuesday afternoon and was looking for a restaurant in the neighborhood of our hotel. Chose the Kazan as we both enjoy middle eastern/turkish food. Chose a set menu with both cold and warm starters and a variety of meat for mains. Service very friendly and food came to the table fast and was very tasty. Only minus was that the waitraiss had a stainy sweater and that does not give a good impression in such a nice place.

Perfect for a family gathering. A warm welcome and delicious food as always.
