Kazan in City of London, Westminster

This is a fairly smart place. We were placed on couched seating in a corner which I personally dislike as you have to slide in and out of your seat and it feels claustrophobic. We were given complimentary bread and olives at first. Clearly one can only speak to the quality of what was ordered not the whole menu but this place is typical of other Turkish and Mediterranean restaurants (grilled meat, set platters, limited vegetarian and vegan choices). We ordered jackfruit kofte, falafel, lentil soup, chicken shish, vegetable moussaka and mint lemonade drinks (plenty of alcoholic drinks available). I only enjoyed the jackfruit kofte. Dessert was better with a good selection on offer, again typical (baklava etc.). We had firin sutlac and ice cream. I recommend the former which was lovely especially with an English tea. The service was adequate but after being given the bill the waiter vanished without having presented the card reader so I had to fetch the maître d. The restaurant is not as lush as I would expect for a Turkish place having been to Istanbul before and I disliked the distinct lack of classical Ottoman music being played. This prevented the proper ambience from being present in the restaurant and instead the incessant conversations of the other diners was all I could mainly hear (plus at one point a baby was screaming) other than when talking (discreetly) myself. Whilst I didn't use the bathroom facilities myself I was told it is very small and claustrophobic. A 12.5% service charge is automatically added to every bill requiring you to ask for it to be removed which is somewhat embarrassing for customers. This is not an honourable way to treat diners.

We had a fantastic pre-theatre lunch. The "healthy lunch" was a real treat, made up of lots of lovely things.

This had wonderfully delicious food! Everything was seasoned and cooked well! The lamb was especially good in my opinion. However we enjoyed it all! The mezze is nice if you want some refreshing dips. The mixed grill was good for trying various things. The sultans grill comes on a good platter which was just plain fun! The desserts were good! Very different and interesting to try so that was nice. The service was excellent. They were super attentive and made sure to give us anything we needed. The atmosphere was fitting for a Turkish restaurant. It was fairly quiet but it made for a lovely evening. There was plenty of room in the restaurant as well!

Ordered the set menu with the burger and the meat was not cooked properly. Half the burger was still pink and uncooked.

A lovely Turkish restaurant. Nice food and service. Kebabs and koftas are amazing 🍢🥙The restaurant is cosy with a Mediterranean feel. Prices are around average for this area. The number 24 bus stops very close. Relaxed atmosphere and vibe.

Came here for my birthday. We where seated straight away. Staff are very attentive to your needs. Restaurant has a relaxing ambience. Cocktails are amazing and the food delicious.

Close to Victoria Station and hotel area. We went for dinner one night and the food and service were excellent. We liked it so much that we repeated the next day. Quiet environment to enjoy food. 100% recommended.

One the best Turkish restaurants I’ve been! I’ve tried grilled cheese, borek as starters, and chicken shish as a main. Food was delicious and our waitress was friendly and helpful. Of course we didn’t leave without dessert. If you don’t sweet baklava, syllabub is a good option. I quite liked interior and cozy ambiance. Also enjoyed the fact that music wasn’t too loud and we could easily chat. Definitely come back at some point!

Arrived quite late in the evening but no problem with entry. Seated by very friendly servers. Food was absolutely delicious with good portions and well presented. The wine menu is very good too and has a great selection of spirits. The bill was slightly more than we expected but felt it was worth it due to the location and the fantastic friendly staff and felt under no pressure to leave after we finished our meal. Thank you to all the staff for a lovely evening.

I went for my birthday, everyone was very professional and receptive, and they gave me a traditional dessert with rose ice-cream as a courtesy. Thank you for the lady who served us all night. Everything was delicious, I had a ribs, which they cook for hours, it's delicious!!! Very tasteful. But my uncle and aunt didn't like the falafel, they said it wasn't tasting well. My brother had a burger which chips, my cousin a soup, and the rest of them I don't remember the name of the places I'm sorry. But I do recommend this restaurant, as a calm place with instrumental music only, low lights and calm people too, I felt very welcoming and happy there.

Super find! We had a gorgeous meal here before heading off to the Theatre, the cold mezze, lamb and chicken kofte and the baklava with rose ice cream, absolutely delicious! Service was fantastic and very reasonably priced - will definitely visit again when next in London! Wouldn't hesitate to recommend.

My partner and I had a table for his birthday celebration yesterday evening. We were warmly welcomed and seated promptly. Alam, who looked after our table, was incredibly friendly and attentive. She was also very helpful with the menu. We really appreciated the surprise birthday dessert with a candle! The drinks and food were beautifully presented and tasted amazing. The portion sizes were perfect, not too big or too small. It was definitely worth a visit, and I strongly recommend it!

Excellent restaurant, lovely food. So rare to find a good independent restaurant in central London serving good food at reasonable prices. We were a group of 6 friends who all had the Healthy Lunch menu which is fantastic value - a good choice of dishes, well presented, accompanied by lovely hot Turkish bread. The baklava with rose ice cream is the perfect dessert. And a big plus for us is that there wasn't loud background music. Staff are pleasant, helpful and not overbearing. Will definitely go back.

12.5% service charge!? We tried the kofta kebab and chicken, and the quality was very poor - undercooked inside and burned outside. We couldn't even eat the main course (only managed the starter) but still paid over £150 for three of us! Not recommended, and we won't be returning. P.S. This is not a true Turkish restaurant!

Nice surprise in pizza dominated area. Authentic dishes and super helpful staff. A bit pricey but you discover new flavors.

Great restaurant and fantastic quality of food. I had a booking on Fri 26th July at 7.15 pm for ten people. The complimentary bread was warm, and tasty. We all ordered different items as the menu had a vast amount of choice from meat, fish to vegetarian. The drinks including the cocktails were lovely . Arriving London a Tuesday afternoon and was looking for a restaurant in the neighborhood of our hotel. Chose the Kazan as we both enjoy middle eastern/turkish food. Chose a set menu with both cold and warm starters and a variety of meat for mains. Service very friendly and food came to the table fast and was very tasty. Only minus was that the waitraiss had a stainy sweater and that does not give a good impression in such a nice place.

Perfect for a family gathering. A warm welcome and delicious food as always.

Great food & great service! Particularly impressed as I inadvertently choose a dish that contained dairy (I'm intolerant to it!) ... when I noticed they exchanged it for something for suitable with no quibbles ... this was much appreciated!

Very nice food and for the price its worth it

Several visits (4) made since June 23 the most recent in May 24 with my wife. Previous visits have been work related. Overall the restaurant is very good, food and portion size is excellent. Location is also very good being about 5 minutes from Victoria. Two visits made in May 24 and the only disappointment was the service, seems there is a high turnover of staff and there were new staff on both occasions. I appreciate that this is not the fault of the staff but the restaurant needs to provide the training and support to ensure a smooth service. My last meal that was a lamb specialty served with yogurt was also not up to much. But as I said previous times I’ve been impressed with the food.

Food is delicious but service takes a long time to arrive. Also, although it was stated as a Turkish restaurant, the music playing really disturbed me and I asked for it to be changed, but I was told that this was the concept. If I wanted to listen to Indian or Arabic music, I would go to those restaurants, not a Turkish restaurant.

If you want a tasty authentic meal you can’t do better. Great for gluten free travelers and such warm service. We had lunch here before seeing Hamilton. Perfect x

It is always an exceptional experience at Kazan. The servers are very attentive and meals are delivered in a timely manner. Whilst waiting for our meals, we are given Turkish bread and olives, our Aryan we tried here is some of the best I’ve tasted. The meals are yum! Completely, unpretentious and perfect for casual dining of a great quality. Thank you.

Nice ambience, food tasty and decent price. In the main staff were good and would have been 4*. However, as soon as we finished our main meal, whilst still drinking one of the staff started wiping down the tables while we were still sitting at the table drinking, we had not even looked at the dessert menu and were considering having cocktails. The smell of the disinfectant was so overpowering it made me cough. We asked for the bill and had cocktails elsewhere. Not good. Its good to see they wipe the tables down but this should be after the customer has finished and left.

Great service! The staff were attentive and kind and offered to charge our phone as it was low battery. Delicious food and cocktails.

Usually I'm looking to get out of a restaurant as soon as I have eaten but not here...no no no...I was do relaxed and chilled I stayed for nearly 2 hours picking at my food hoping it would never finish! 3 course dinner for two ppl with drinks(several!!) and lentil soup aswell all for £100 in central London... can't go wrong!

Food was nice, lamb Shank had far to much tomato sauce with it and supposed to be on bed on vegetables,( 2 pieces of carrot.) Prices reasonable for the area, service was good.

I recently dined at Kazan Restaurant with two guests, including an infant, and our evening was unfortunately ruined by the presence of mice in the restaurant. The sight of mice scurrying around the dining area was extremely disturbing and unacceptable. Despite the initial appeal of the restaurant's atmosphere and menu offerings, the overall experience was marred by the lack of proper pest control and cleanliness. As a Customer, I expect a hygienic and pest-free environment when dining out, especially when bringing an infant along. It's concerning that despite reporting the presence of mice to the staff, no action or efforts were taken to address the issue or compensate for the lack of hygiene.

I was amazed at how good this reasurant was that the food was so good, and it came out quick, hardly no wait.

Had a booking at the opposition (around the corner) last week and saw this place on the way and decided to try it out last night. Travelled from South Kensington as I do like middle eastern food especially Turkish. Ordered bottled still water. Was opened before it reached my table… I KNOW how London tap water tastes and avoid it like the plague; only drink bottled water. For £2.95 I could sware the bottle I was given had tap water; tasted disgusting. Requested hoummos with my ‘complimentary Turkish bread’ that comes with black pitted olives; suggested substituting said olives for hoummos the (new, young bearded) waiter told me he’d get me some hoummos complimentary. Once presented with the bread, he said he’d made a mistake (being new) but there was only a £3 charge for said hoummos. I could not finish the meal of lamb shanks with mash and carrots (not at all unpleasant just too much for me) so I asked for it to be done for takeout with some more Turkish bread added. This I was told WAS complimentary. Imagine my annoyance when I got home to find PITA bread with my order AND the hoummos suddenly tasted sour (almost like someone pee’d on it). Just hoping I don’t get sick (as a senior medical professional in the NHS) or guess who I will be paying a visit to, if able afterwards? But certainly NOT for a meal; far preferred my experience last week around the corner.

We ordered the Ottoman Platter, Sucuk and Borek. For drinks - Turkish Lemonade, Shirley Temple, Ayran and Schweppes tonic water. For a small lunch meal of 3. Delicious. I think that sucuk could have been a bit better if it was rounded sausages instead it’s the flat sausages I think they were a bit overcooked. But the service and food quality were great. At £75 the price was reasonable and fair.

Excellent restaurant with a great menu. You know the menu is great if you panic about your order… I literally wanted to try everything lol I ordered Kazan’s signature hummus, which was 10/10 very tasty and authentic. Lentil soup was excellent and rich in flavor. Grilled Sucuk was my highlight of the day: it’s my first time trying it and it was really nice, served with rocket leaves. My friend ordered Incik (lamb shank); the meat was cooked perfectly. A basket of Turkish bread and olives were served before food arrived, and a tomato/chili sauce while we were eating. I find that quite generous. The waitress was very polite and welcoming, she welcomed us with open arms, and managed to fit us in although a reservation was required. She kept checking on us every now and then, and kept refilling our water glasses. Thank you!! We arrived exactly at 12:00 as they opened, and the waitress welcomed us with open arms, fitted us in without reservation.

Food is absolutely divine, well worth the price. We got lamb shank and Kazan special. Service was also excellent, waiters were very attentive. You also receive complimentary bread and olives (olives tasted great!). Quite fancy inside but felt relatively chilled.

This is our go-to restaurant for Turkish food, really good food, good price & lovely staff.

Incredible food and great service. We had one of the Christmas set menus and it did not disappoint. Highly recommend if you're on the lookout for authentic Turkish dining.

Really fabulous-Kazan special was/is/will be the "HIT" as described! Deelish! I'm not a "connoisseur" of Turkish cuisine, but it was outstanding! 😁 It met/exceeded all the reviews I researched ! I will be back soon! Allam was a delightful waitress/hostess 😊 and as a flight attendant of 34 + years, I was humbly grateful for her kind disposition and genuine warmth! Excellent food and delightful customer service!

Decent food and not too expensive considering location. Vegetarian cold and hot mezze were nice though hot mezze maybe slightly small portions for the price. A shame that they had withdrawn the set lunch menu for the Christmas weeks (they didnt take it out of the menu and we only found out when we ordered).
