Davy's at Plantation Place in City of London, Westminster

I organised a wine tasting event here as our teambuilding activity, and it was such a great experience. Our team loved it! The boardroom was special & cosy, the wines and meal great, and the winetasting program was super, huge thanks to the lady leading it. She explained about the wines and the region- production differences (along with her italian colleague) and she had such a vibrant personality which was the extra bonus in this night. Price was also fair and very transparent. Organisation was smooth with sales, thank you again! Would come back again when visiting London.

Good service and atmosphere. Good choice of food and wines. Great place for three friends to catch up over a bottle or three.

Sky Gardenに行った帰り、近くで食べる場所がないか探していて偶然入ったお店。 従業員全員が対応よく、テキパキと働 いており、それぞれのテーブルに目を配っていました。 注文したものの盛り付けも美しく、味もおいしかった。地元の方に愛されているレストランと感じるほどにたくさんの客で賑わっていました！ 入口は一見パブのようですが、食事だけだと奥の静かな場所へ案内されました。カフェだけの利用の方もいたようです。 とにかくスタッフの方が素晴らしかった。

We had a family dinner for 7 people on a Friday night. The restaurant was very quiet but this did not spoil the experience. The staff could not have done enough for us , they were very helpful with my elderly mother and service was impeccable. The food was superb and wine flowed. All in all would have no hesitation in returning to this lovely restaurant.

for groups of 10 to 20 there are two private rooms available for hire. The friendly waitress made excellent recommendations for menu items. Service was prompt as we were doing a corporate lunch. I recommend the crab and seafood linguini , it is a tomato-based one that is a little spicy and well balanced.

Great atmosphere in the morning, excellent service from the staff but the portions were surprisingly small and although well cooked, quite plain.

I found the menu generally unappealing. The smoked salmon I had with cremefraiche, crispy capers and melba toast was generous and of good quality and the wine selection was great at the reasonable price end. Service was inattentive and I couldn’t catch anyone’s eye to get the bill so went to the bar to pay. I wouldn’t rush back.

Exceptional team - accommodating, friendly and welcoming. Nothing was too much trouble for a large party of guests. Flexible around timings and changes and were able to calmly go with the flow. Chefs were exceptional as were the waiting team all evening. Will be returning.

Great attentive service, good food and we weren’t rushed. Deducted one star because guy on door wasn’t very welcoming.

6 of us had a delayed Christmas lunch, due to train strikes we had to reschedule 3 times. Davys transferred our booking and deposit without question. We had a private dining area which was great, service was exceptional and all food throughly enjoyed. Great wine list as well.

Seated, they had no record of my booking. Sat for 20 mins, not offered a drink. We asked for a drink and had to ask for a menu. After a further 10 minutes we received our coffee and was told that if we want breakfast it would be an extremely long wait as they are serving a large group at the back of the restaurant and they only have one working hob. Waste of time, should’ve been told the situation as soon as we walked in. We left and went elsewhere.

We booked a room for a work Xmas meal, the room was amazing and the place itself is a real gem. We were a bit disappointed by the beer/ale options (no cask, no guinness, two or three beers that weren't in bottles) but honestly that's the only real gripe - thanks to all the staff, they were amazing. Will come back next year!

As a solo diner I can highly recommend Davy’s, the staff were very attentive. As alway the food and wine were fantastic and really good value.

Booked this very last minute with some girl friends. We were chuffed to find ourselves in a little private dining room and away from the noisy bar area. The food was really good - everyone enjoyed their meals. The staff were lovely - friendly, helpful and accommodating.

Friendly service and well priced, especially considering that it's in the City. The waiting staff were happy to let me charge my AirPods behind the bar too, so that was especially helpful!

We had our team’s dinner at Davy’s. Ordered various alcoholic drinks, food and desserts. Davy’s has the perfect location however food are rather disappointing and overpriced considering the ranges of choices, tastes and presentation. Overall, a nice spot for after work drink but do not raise your expectation for the food served here.

We booked a table for 8 and got the boardroom which was perfect. Great service from attentive staff - good food ( not great) but good delivery. We were never rushed even as the last people to leave The only negative was the lack of labelling of Gluten Free - no excuses just poor - but the wine was great as was the beer.

Reliably good food at a fair price and great friendly staff... You can't go wrong with their bangers and mash!!

The steak sandwich there is legendary and is always great with a class of rioja - fantastic!

Out with a client and we went to Davy’s. I had never been before and was delighted to give it a try. Our waitress was really friendly and hospitable, answering all our questions about the menu and making a few great recommendations. We had a superb meal and thoroughly pleasant evening. Great restaurant and will be back again!

Check your receipt. They over charged me and made my beer the most eypensive one ever I bought

The food and the service is outstanding, yes it's expensive but you get what you pay for. 5 stars should have been awarded but the temperature in this place is so hot and made me a little uncomfortable. Great wine selection and other drinks were available too, the menu is vast but not at all daunting.

So first time back at work in the office so colleague and I went to our usual place Davy’s plantation place. Normally a busy place with a varied menu but with the world as it is now, it was a limited menu and very quiet. The food we had was excellent and the staff as always here are great. Hope to see this place and the city back to nearer how it use to be soon. Don’t want the city and the fab restaurants we have to die!

Don’t book this place for an 8am breakfast meeting - they make you stand outside in the cold. They shouldn’t take bookings at that time or need to make this clear.

Not really a "bad" restaurant, only too bad we were discriminated because we're young travelers. We had to "pre-slip" our creditcard because they suspected that we wouldn't pay. When we asked them about it they told us that they do this with all their customers, ofcourse this isn't true as they didn't seem to do this to the business men in the suits and the big families. In my opinion there are better restaurants in the area, you just have to remember to place a reservation in time.

Despite taking my booking the restaurant rang me the following morning to inform me that on the day of my dinner booking they were closing at 14:00. Perhaps they should have informed OpenTable of this fact. Therefore we had to make a booking elsewhere and I cannot offer any opinion on this restaurant or their service

Breakfast was fine, not very special. High pricing, but good coffee.

We were seated in a quiet room and found the service to be quite good. Excellent wine list and wonderful food were paired together nicely. Enjoyed it very much.

Attended a meeting nearby so decided to take lunch here. Booking all in order - as it’s very busy best to book in advance to secure a table. Excellent menu with great choice. Settled for the chicken schnitzel for the main course which was excellent. Double expresso following to ensure alertness in the afternoon. Great for business lunches. Good ambiance and WiFi if you need it. Seating is perhaps more formal to the rear of the restaurant. Has vegetarian and vegan specials. Good selection of wines also available by the glass. Excellent service with attentive waiters. Prices less than most in the neighbourhood.

Went to Davy's for lunch with colleagues. Staff are very accommodating and food was great as always. Service was a little slower than usual today.

Value for money City business lunch venue. You can't go wrong by lunching here.

Seated in the back room but not in the private rooms. For some reason the acoustics are very bad and when it started to fill up with other diners it was quite difficult to hold a conversation across the table without raising your voice significantly. Not much they can do about it I know.

Very nice food and wine (as you'd expect) but one of those places that looks busy around 7pm and is empty by 8.30pm. The service was as you'd expect and the food was of a good standard.

We had breakfast meeting in a private room there with my client (5 of us). The breakfast was amazing. The private room was quite. My client and my colleagues absolutely love the experience. We will definitely revisit for future breakfast meetings. Highly recommended if you want to have casual yet confidential meetings.

In my view one of the best bar/restaurants in the city. A modern facility leaning on its historical connection with the city. For a city facility it is quite reasonably priced and the service is first class. This place is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner and is an ideal meeting place for business meetings or just catching up with old friends. Private dining is also available in a number of rooms of various sizes.. Only drawback for me is that parking is almost impossible and you have to be very lucky to find a space anywhere remotely close

Food here is usually fairly good, but yesterday's fish & chips was not up to the usual high standard. Batter swimming in grease and pea puree tepid.

We went for meal on Monday night on our way home it was quiet but decided to give it a go. Our waitress Magda, was fantastic she was attentive and funny. We both went for the burgers and were not disappointed, they were big, tasty and juicy. We would definitely go back.

A group of us get together a few times a year and have lunch at different places and this time there were 10 of us. This was the first time here for us all. We sat on one long table. Food, drinks and service were all good and everyone enjoyed it. As often happens with a large table I didn't really notice anything about what was going on around the rest of the place but from our point of view it worked for us and we all left happy.

A popular wine bar in the City of London. It also has rooms for private parties and a dining area. The food seems pretty good.

Aparte del excelente personal, no había nada memorable sobre el almuerzo aparte de la compañía. Este restaurante está a diez minutos a pie de la estación del Banco, no muy lejos del mercado de Leadenhall. Tuve un aperitivo de cangrejo de río, excepcional y un filete medio raro también excepcional y una tabla de queso que era agradable, pero nada más. El café era verdaderamente atroz. La lista de vinos es bastante extensa, por lo que hay algo que se adapta a la mayoría de los paladares y carteras. Entrantes 6 a 9 y platos principales de 13 a 18, excepto los filetes donde el filete es aproximadamente 30. Vino de 20 a 100 por botella. Estaba muy ocupado, tal vez solo un día libre en la cocina.

Great burger, good atmosphere and friendly staff

Met a work colleague here for dinner and really enjoyed it. It was relatively quiet so we were able to have a really good conversation without the usual hustle and bustle.

Patatas fritas no son doble cocinada, pero bien. Borgoña casa blanca es una excelente relación calidad-precio para la ciudad. No se lleno ¡cuidado!

It's a Davy's. So, like all chains, if you like their style you'll like this place. Light airy space, friendly efficient staff. Bit soulless but that's not the staff's fault.

Met up for a breakfast at Davy's, service good but failed the porridge test! Yes ok porridge is not everyone's thing but if you cannot do this right it's only oats and milk for chrisake then the rest is going down hill pdq!

Pasé unos días de ir y venir con el equipo de atención al cliente en línea reservando una zona y comprobar la comida pedir para nuestra llegada para una reunión de cliente. Cuando llegamos no tenían constancia de nuestra reserva (aunque nuestra zona estaba reservada) y no había comida lista para nuestro grupo. Era un poco embarazoso como nuestros huéspedes eran en tiempo limitado, así que queríamos para ir perfectamente para celebrar una oferta que había sido hecho. Hicimos otra en el lugar y dieron la orden de fuentes más tarde. Decepcionó envié el contacto había estado en contacto con y preguntó por qué este contratiempo había pasado y un mes después aún no he tenido respuesta. Me esperaba más por esta cadena en el corazón de la ciudad para ser honesto y duda volveré a reservar otra tomar cliente aquí. En general, la comida estaba bien y a un precio razonable.

Boring wine bar. Good for purpose but not much else.

Popped in here for a quick bite to eat. First impressions, very standard fare, layout and restaurant is clean and tidy, nothing special but nothing to complain about. Everyone went for the fish and chips, was haddock which cheered the Northerner up. Fish was excellent, came with minted peas, why not mushy peas? never understood why you would want to mess with perfection! Was a bit shy in the chips department, you have gone to the effort of cooking a great piece of fish why skimp on the chips! Overall pretty good, but just a little more and you would have got an excellent vote!

A Davy's ha un par de veces para comer y tengo que decir que la comida es muy coherente. Una buena selección de platos principales todo muy sabroso y el vino es muy agradable. Más recientemente fui aquí para una reunión de desayuno, de nuevo en el desayuno era realmente bueno. Puedo recomendar el salmón ahumado y huevos revueltos con tostadas francesas ¡ñam ñam!

Great food but the staff maybe had a bad day as we had to go inside and asked them to take our orders after 15 minutes waiting without anyone coming to serve us.

Food was very poor. For starter I had 2 very thin slivers of salmon on thin toast that was too hard to bite. Thinnest piece of sea bass that looked as though it had been waiting too long - totally overcooked. Service poor

Nice bar with a hood outside space

I've only visited once, but I give them 5 stars due to the staggeringly good job they did of our office Christmas lunch. We were in a large group of perhaps 60 people, and I was extremely surprised by the quality of the food, which was absolutely splendid. I particularly enjoyed the wild mushroom risotto; often those not having traditional Christmas lunch get a rough deal, but in this case quite the opposite - a delicious risotto. Also special mention for the wine; we had a mid-range Bordeaux which was superb.

We had a private room, which was very good for a business lunch as the main restaurant can be quite noisy. The menu was short but ideal for us, and all food was well prepared. Service was very good.

Hay muchos lugares para comer pijas de la ciudad, pero Davy en Cortapapeles Lane es uno de mis favoritos. No sólo por la comida, que es de calidad suprema, pero también para el personal experimentado que sepa realmente lo que está hablando y que muestran una atención que es deficiente en muchos de los nuevos lugares concurridos. Tuve el bife de costilla y fue perfecto, justo como lo pedí. ¿Qué más se puede esperar. Volveré.

Excellent service, great food, really nice room

Bistroesque but that’s not meant to undersell this restaurant where we enjoyed a good lunch. The spinach and rocket soup was absolutely delicious, much better than it sounds. They also do good fish and chips whilst I enjoyed the crab and prawn linguine although the linguine was pretty bland. We had no trouble finding a seat before 1pm but it was full after that – always a good sign.

Went here the week before Xmas which was hectic and the place was rammed but the staff were professional, swift and really welcoming. They avoided the madness of what can descend when you have a number of office parties all at once. The Xmas menu for mass catering really was very good quality and all our group were happy with the selections. The steak was particularly good. Great location, decent prices and good staff added up to a big thumbs up.

Spent a pleasurable couple of hours quaffing and scoffing here with business contacts over a social glass of vino and a G&T or three. Good service, great finger sharing platters with very nice chicken skewers.

I've eaten at Davy's Plantation House on a number of occassions, having previously taken friends and clients alike and had good food and service every time. But the most recent experience was dreadful. We were shown to our table, and drinks soon arrived. Orders taken and starters arrived reasonably quickly, but that's when service stopped. We had three of the duck liver pâté, which was good overall but the patè / bread ratio was all wrong, one thin toasted slice of sour bread was very stingy. The other starter was crab cakes quite small size but tasted good. Second bottle of Pinotage ordered but trying to get water or clean glasses was difficult in fact it was difficult to get anyone's attention but after 45 minutes wait and two requests for an update on the mains - we spoke to the manager who promised food within the next four minutes. We reminded him that is what we were told some twenty minutes ago; so as a way of apology he volunteered to remove the cost of the starters from the bill. So stop watch started and 3 minutes 52 seconds later the mains arrived- yippee! Bangers and mash; fish and chips; pavé steak and sea bass special. The sea bass was inedible, fish hadn't been pin boned or blood line removed. Plate of food removed but we were now running so late that we didn't have time for another to be cooked. The manager blamed the supplier rather than his kitchen who shouldn't have sent out such a dish. Other mains were OK, steak was over seasoned with salt and the mushroom with whisky sauce thick, gloopy and had to play "hunt the mushroom" Bill requested which took a while - two paid cash and two by card - the waitress removed the cash and never returned with the card machine - odd, perhaps she'd done a runner! So we asked someone else to get the card machine, and started to get our coats on to leave. Bill settled but nothing said by the staff or management about the poor service or the fact one member of our party didn't eat. Won't be rushing back.

There was a strong smell of fish when we entered the restaurant for some reason. Service was fine. Food was served quickly and was fine. My friends had the chicken club sandwich which looked nice. I had the crab and prawn linguine which was OK. Not the best I have had. Restaurant is fine for talking which was good.
