Bodean's BBQ - Soho in City of London, Westminster

I love seeing Kansas City BBQ in London but unfortunately the food was quite there. It was fine for the UK. Would have liked to see more American (maybe even KC) beers. Service was excellent. Good value.

Really good quality BBQ food. Not too sweet and not drenched in sauce to hide the flavours of the meat like some other places do. Definitely recommend.

Ordered from Uber Eats. I ordered 2 packs of BBQ sauce. The order arrived with no BBQ sauce. The ribs were dry and needed BBQ sauce.

Great Bbq food, at a reasonable price (for London) their kids menu is very reasonably priced too (£7.50 for 3 course and a drink) Staff are always very welcoming and it's somewhere we always visit whilst we're in London.

The brisket was very underwhelming. I wouldn't even call it a brisket, it was more like beef cutlets. The rest of the food was above average.

First time at this restaurant, service was fantastic, food was great, would recommend and will return.

Overall an ok place with average food. First time visiting and was not impressed at all. The waiting staff are helpful and nice but the service was very slow and staff was not very attentive. The food is ok. Had much better ribs in local pubs. The ribs should be cooked to the point that bones can be taken out without the need to scrape them with a knive. Burnt ends were nice and full of flavour but our party had different portions size for the same large plate and some weren't even appealing to eat. Unfortunately this not somewhere I would visit again.

A great place for some meat, a bit more meat, with meat on the side. Quick service, tasty food and convenient location. Vegans might be better off finding alternative arrangements.

Top notch barbecue. Flavours were amazing from everything in our platter and we also bought a side of brisket which was my favourite. Melt in the mouth delicious.

If you are wanting proper bbq, dont go here. Food was not bbq. There was no smoke flavour, no smoke ring on the meats. No real flavour. You only got 2 slices of brisket on the platter and they were tastless, chewy and had been put on a grill plate. I think its all cooked in big ovens rather than bbqs/smokers. Me and my husband were gutted. We have our own bbqs/smokers at home and our cooks are 1000 times tastier.

Not bbq. No smokeflvour or smoke ring. Tasteless, chewy and generally underwhelming. I wouldn't waste your money. Ive had bbq in America many times. This is not bbq at all.

We read the ratings and came but all the plates that we ordered were ovecoocked! The burgers were burned and also the chicken wings were more baked than the normal. The draft beer also was not of the highest quality.

The ribs is not good with small bone pieces, the steak and sausage are good tho

Two booths open and they sat us 6 inches from the door in a tiny table. Five booths available by the time we left. Pulled pork sandwich was pretty good but not worth the £20 per person. Both the greeter and servers were annoying and they added service charge without asking.

Ribs were excellent. Wife's burger was a little dry but still good. Fries were a little salty but the waiter did say if we had mentioned it he would have changed. Would definitely recommend.

The food was a bit underwhelming considering the general appearance of the place... we couldn't help but feel that the ribs and burnt ends lacked flavour, and the fries were too dry and tasteless. Ultimately, the quality of the meal was disappointing...

Really really lovely place, not far away from shops or an underground and getting a table and booking a table was quite easy. Food was delicious and portions are good sizes. The music was quite loud though couldn’t really here my family when they were talking, toilets are really nice and waitress’s are really friendly. Overall quite nice place

Got served by Kordell an absolute gentleman through and through, food was beautiful and the drink delightful. I highly recommend taking advantage of the happy hour deals.

After hearing good things about Bodean’s we gave it a try. Unfortunately it was very dissatisfying. Staff were very lacklustre, not once asking if the meal was ok or if we needed anything. Also not even asking if all was ok when we asked for the bill. Food although had good flavour, arrived lukewarm, and considering the cost quite small portions. A side of chips was literally a dozen skin on fries. My partners meal came out wrong, but this was rectified. The restaurant itself had a good atmosphere and we were able to speak to each other, but unfortunately left disappointed. I won’t be back. EDIT. Someone has commented asking for me to email them and they will look into it, which I did and never heard a single thing back. All done to make them look better.

We tried this pub during a weekend in London and I must say that it did not disappoint expectations! The restaurant is located in the heart of Soho, it has two rooms and I recommend you book if you want to try it! On the menu there is mainly meat, as the name of the place might suggest. We tried the nachos with cheddar, chili peppers and pulled pork, then a classic burger, ribs, pulled pork and chips, all accompanied by two fresh beers. Kind staff, especially the Greek waiter from Corfu, very nice, helpful, kind and professional! Prices average for London. Advise

I had only one meal yesterday and it was from Bodeans yesterday last night. It was busy thats why they need more people for serving also food quality was really poor.

First time trying Bodeans BBQ and it didn't disappoint me and my friend shared the Bodeans platter it was amazing every meat on the platter was beautiful.The service was amazing as well they overheard me saying to my mate that it was his birthday treat today a few moments later they came out with a fudge cake on the House such good service. Definitely coming here again.

One of my favourtire places in london. Hadn't been here in years and still as good as I remembered it.

Be careful, management may attempt to decrease your offering should you ask, "is our food ready for collection" - evidently they don't like that. Had to go back, and as soon as they saw me they knew I had realised they had cheated me out of a fair transaction and then gave me the remaining food. Lucky I realised in time. Poor show and won't go again. Really silly, lost a long time customer for a cheap trick. Wish them the best.

Attended yesterday with a 5.15pm reservation for myself and daughter.i can say I wasn't impressed from the get go, Seated and had drinks order taken no problem.asked the waiter for the kids menu so my daughter could look.instead of giving us one he said what do you from it.. Like she has a kids menu she's never seen printed in her memory.luckily I had looked in advance and was able to tell her the majority so she could choose.whole thing was rushed. Food came quickly after ordering,had to go and get our own cutlery from the bar as none was given to our table.i had a combo of ribs and pulled pork.pork was actually cold to touch.so cold it felt almost chilled.chips looked like they were the last scraggles of a batch and also cold.i sent my whole plate back and the one that came back was hardly much warmer.But at this point I just wanted to eat and leave.kids meal was just as lacking of any heat too.ribs on both meals were basically bone.hardly any meat to eat. We were so disappointed. cold food,cold staff. First impressions count and this wasn't it.Wouldn't return in a hurry

In this day n age, meat is expensive, all I can say, it was yummy, really yummy. I will defo be going again.

Wir hatten Lust auf BBQ und das war genau der richtige Laden dafür. Wir hatten einen jüngeren Mann als Bedienung und wir haben noch nie so einen netten und herzlichen Service erlebt. Das Fleisch ist sehr zart und die burned Ends und das Pulled Pork waren der Wahnsinn. Nur die Pommes waren nicht unser Geschmack zu weich und nicht knusprig.

No reservation but we were seated and served swiftly . Nice atmosphere , loud music and staff friendly . Menu all read well so was hard to choose . The £20 per head platter solved the problem a bit of everything, minimum of 2 needed to order it . Generous but not overwhelming portion sizes , meat tender and tasty . Good coleslaw .

I booked a table for 15 people for my husband's birthday. The service was excellent, the food was delicious. Everyone was happy with their food. I'll definitely come back.

After a recommendation from a friend we tried it and it was very dissapointing the g/f was very dated the toilets were very dirty urine on the floors etc not pleasant at all and the food was very small portions and tasteless to be honest we will not be visiting again very dissapointing .

Our lunch here is hard to rate. The ambience is nice (downstairs looks better than upstairs). The staff were really friendly but spent much of the time chatting to each other at the bar. The wings and mac n cheese starters were mediocre. The burgers were excellent, the milkshake and icecream were superb. The burnt ends and ribs combo had dry burnt ends and very bland ribs. The chips were kebab house standard but chips are chips i suppose. But is was cheap at £100 for 3 in Soho. Worth popping in because it wasnt full but i wont rush to return with so many other options in Soho.

Great Kansas meat experience. Giant platters piled with meats and fries were very popular with our group. Has a reasonable selection of beers and wines too. Service was good. Gents toilet needs monitoring… has large tvs with sport, but fortunately silent. Fantastic hard rock background music.

Food is tasty and portions are good. If you haven't booked a table it's pot luck... You may get a table if one is available if not you'll be turned away my favourite are the spare ribs these are so tasty 😋 I'm not knocking the pulled pork or BBQ chicken pieces those are also good! This eatery is definitely a meat lovers paradise. We had two mains two alcoholic drinks two soft drinks totally around £65

Food was very nice, service was a bit lacking and then was short changed.

Great food, great prices. The pulled pork sandwich is really good and tender and a really reasonable price for the portion size. They also have happy hour which has a great deal for a pitcher of beer which was a bargain and if you don't like beer they do two for one cocktails. Finally the service was very good nice staff with the right amount of attentiveness.

We were looking forward to having a meal at Bodean’s. The reviews were good so we decided to try for ourselves. We were promptly shown to put table and ordered our drinks which came quickly and were delicious. My wife ordered the baby back ribs and I ordered one of the combos with burnt ends and ribs. My wife’s ribs were very dry and in no way could you call them juicy. For a restaurant that specialises in BBQ these were poor. My burnt ends were hardly that but were somewhat juicy and very tasty, the ribs however were the same as my wife’s, very dry and I had to chew them for ages. The fries were ok as was the slaw. We were expecting good things from Bodeans but I’m sorry to say it was a let down.

Amazing BBQ food and lovely staff. I would definitely come back if I lived nearby. The food was good, and the plates were left without a crumb on them.

Well worth a visit for tasty southern BBQ food in a relaxed environment. I had pulled pork and burnt ends (they came with fries and slaw) with onion rings on the side. Everything was tasty, service was good, and it was decent value for money.

Very tasty, when the platter arrived for two I felt the portions were a little small but after eating (shared) the portions were just right. No complaints here, really nice food, great service from the waiter. Thank you

Great service, attentive staff, food was mediocre.. until we ended up with food poisoning. Multiple emails sent to the branch to no avail.. Sadly will not be returning in a hurry (if at all)!

Gone majorly downhill. Popped in around 5pm, staff were inattentive and the food was awful: lukewarm and the marinade congealed. Chef “Mic” may have done all the work. Felt pointless sending our dishes back so ate what we could and left. Staff seemed more interested in personal conversations around the bar than service. Our server seemed to be doing all the work, and did what he could.

Unfortunately my partner and I got a terrible case of food poisoning this past Saturday. Unsure what it was from. We hadn’t eaten anywhere else that evening.

The BBQ here is excellent, no doubt. I have been here several times and it's always been 100% spot on. What stops me from giving 5 stars is that it's relatively expensive for the portion sizes you get, and that the seating is somewhat cramped. Several of the beers on tap were also not available the last time I went.

Went for my partners birthday and the food and drinks were great, service was amazing, really friendly and loved the relaxed atmosphere! Loved the cocktails and we even got a birthday brownie on the house :) will definitely be going again!

The pork ribs were pretty small, not particularly tender or flavoursome. Burnt ends were fairly tough. Decent flavour but still benefited from some BBQ sauce. Slaw and fries were decent. Key Lime Pie is good. Excellent service. Food arrived very quickly.

I have been coming here for many years and always enjoy the food. The Boston Butt sandwich is my favourite (pictured). Not the same atmosphere as it used to have when it felt more like a deli, but still a good vibe. Staff are always friendly and food is quick and tasty. Prices also still reasonable. The BBQ mayo is a a good companion with the pork but you have to ask for it.

I went there tried their brisket, they shouldn’t even called that a brisket, zero star for their so called brisket

American style smokehouse that serves Burgers, BBQ ribs and wings!! Does exactly as it says on the tin!! You B won’t leave Bodeans feeling hungry and if you do you most likely ordered the wrong fish!! Great atmosphere and the staff are very friendly! We didn’t book but they arranged for a table within 45 minutes. Left our number went to a bar and 30 minutes later we’re back ordering food!

Wij hebben in de kelderruimte van het leuke pand gezeten; een beetje "American Diner"-achtig. 🎉 Supertoffe, attente en bovenal snelle 💯 bediening; dat zie je nog wel eens op een andere manier. Ikzelf heb iets met Baby-ribs (kwam bijna niet los 😬 van het bot) en pulled pork genomen, en als extra BBQ-beans; heerlijk 🎶! Mijn disgenoten hadden andere gerechten, waaronder Ribs en Pork 🎈en iets met 2 Thick Ribs, en daarnaast Onionrings en Mc'n'Cheese. 👊 Helaas hadden een paar van mijn gasten een pint 🍻 "slootwater" uitgekozen 👀, maar de overigen frisdrank als cola en sprite; wat een grote glazen maar tevens tjokvol. Helemaal prima!👍

Goed diner gehad bij Bodean's BBQ Soho. Zeer vriendelijk en behulpzaam personeel. Genoeg tv's voor de sportfans om tijdens het eten niks te missen. Prima spareribs, vlees zat wel nogal vast aan de botten. Elders betere gegeten. Verder was de pulled pork wel heel lekker.

Bodeans is always a good meal. We ordered the pitboss platter for two. The price is higher than expected, but there was a decent selection of meats. The fact you have to pay additional for the sides is a joke, tbh if I remember correctly, this never used to be the case pre covid. Out of all the meat which was generally delicious the ribs were disappointingly dry. We still enjoyed the meal as a one-off treat. Can't return for that price too often!

Warm welcome in an amazing ambiance! The decor is great and original. The food is to die for!!! From the perfectly cooked and spiced fries to the multitude of great meats We had a blast just smelling the food, and it was DE-LI-CIOUS!

The food was really great and delicious would go there again.

A really nice BBQ restaurant, serving some nicely smoked meats (chicken thigh was personal favourite). We had a sharing platter served with a few chips and a small portion of slaw..... but it just needed something else to complete the meal. Maitre dee was excellent with good waiting staff, meant an overall very positive experience.

Our meal at Bodean's was enjoyable - the food was delicious and the portions were good, plus they cater well to people with allergies. However the toilets were quite dirty and in need of repair, and the service wasn't great. We kept being ignored, and it felt like our server was in such a rush to get to the person that he wasn't really listening to what we were asking for. It felt like an extra member of staff was needed. I would return, but maybe at a quieter time where more care can be taken with customers.

There’s something wrong with reviews man! The food quality is below average. Food arrived cold and rubbery. Ordered the brisket and burgers and I honestly couldn’t go through the whole meal. I really had high expectations for the place when I checked the ratings before coming all the way to try it. Wasted money & time here.

Went for tea here whilst staying in london. The food looks amazing but sadly was abit cold, and the mac and cheese balls didn’t have much flavour. Our server was friendly and the food was still nice but could of been better sadly.

Seems to have gone down hill recently. The meats were quite dry but tasted ok. Ribs in particular were poor, barely any meat on them.

Where do I start? Being an BBQ enthusiast, I was very much looking forward to some BBQ in December with so many months passed since I could smoke a proper brisket back home. I learned from the organizer that the restaurant wanted three days' notice to serve brisket, this was encouraging seeing it takes a good while to cook one. Oh boy, was I disappointed. They served the brisket with the flat and point separated, nothing wrong with that if it wasn't put on two separate tables. When I asked the waitress if they had indeed put flat on one tray and the point on the other, she more or less snorted the it doesn't matter "it's all brisket". I tried pointing out that they are completely different, but she would not have it. The three days of cooking they requested, I don't understand either, seeing it was undercooked and dry, with hard fats with little to no rendering at all. We also got dried out ribs, chips bathing in cheese and burnt ends that competed with coal I texture and dryness. The pulled pork was very good though, that's why this review is a 2 and not a 1.

I love this place we had our Christmas do hear on the 02 December 2023 and it was amazing our server he was excellent and was very funny the food was too good service was quick even though they where busy looking forward to coming back.

Bodean's used to be a hidden gem of Soho 20 years ago. I went last night with my family and was deeply disappointed. It was overpriced, small portions that were reheated on order. The food was not good. The charm and value have definitely been long gone from Bodean's for quite awhile now.

A sad parody of a once great BBQ institution. My meal (burnt ends and ribs combo) was both overcooked and barely warmed up, while also being crazily overpriced for a comically small portion. You get more chips in a McDonald's happy meal. My sons cardboard burger gave him an immediate upset stomach. My wife's brisket looked like a school dinner from the 80s and had the fake mashed potato for authenticity. I used to go to this Bodeans regularly nearly 20 years ago and got invited to the launch of their London Bridge branch when the business started to expand. How the mighty have fallen. Honestly, you might as well go to an Angus steak House (warning: NEVER GO TO AN ANGUS STEAK HOUSE). Awful. Avoid. If you have fond memories of how it used to be, do yourself a favour and keep it in your head. What's there now will leave you feeling sad, unsatisfied, and likely a little sick. I was surprised by the recent negative reviews. I rarely bother to leave a review but this was worth it. Would have been 4.5 if that was possible. Burger was one of the best I’ve had in a long time, although a few more burnt ends and a bit of coleslaw would have got a 5/5. Staff were great, seated ordered and served quickly but not rushed. Ice cream and beer were also good quality. I enjoyed the music and atmosphere in the bar. Price is fair and better than I expected for its location. I will return if I am here anytime soon.

Ok restaurant, loads of seating downstairs not being used.

Food and drink were fantastic. Unfortunately, we had to wait a while for one of our drinks. We got two of our drinks before our meal, then got the third drink 10 mins after the food was served (they were ordered all at the same time). The environment is noisier than I expected, more like a rowdy sports bar than a restaurant, in my opinion. Service was quite inattentive throughout the meal. Had to wait awhile to get someone's attention for the bill. But the staff appeared to be rushed off the feet.

Bodeans used to be great and this was at least my 10th visit. But at 3pm on a weekday I got told I couldn't sit by the window because they were tables for four, despite being one of only three customers in the whole place! Meat was dry, chips so undercooked they were raw in the middle and to cap it off the gents urinal had a major leak and the only stall was so appallingly filthy that I heaved when I saw it

Smashing BBQ, decent prices and good quality food.

Bodean's is a regular on our visit list. It's good for an informal catch-up over food upstairs in the diner-style restaurant, or if you're looking for something more formal, book downstairs for table service and a cosier vibe, with sports on the TVs for those lulls in conversation. Go early to avoid disappointment and order the burnt ends - these are incredibly good, and incredibly popular. Tall stools upstairs, so it's good that downstairs is more kid-friendly, and guaranteed to make them feel grown up and special.

Food standard of this place has changed. It used to be our favourite place. I was a little dissapointed in the quality of food.
