Friendly welcome & comfortable inside seating. We called for a nice pot of tea & not disappointed. Big tea pot, extra hot water, & only £2.20 for two people. Good menu offered. Home cooked food. Farm shop small but has a good selection of fresh veg & assorted home made pies.

Wow!! Visited with family for a full English breakfast. It’s now gone 10 at night and I’m still full. The food was delicious and of good quality. We were treated as we entered and all staff were friendly. The cafe was lovely. Yes the chairs are quirky but it just adds to the atmosphere. The cafe was quite busy but we only waited around 20 mins for our food and our drinks were served promptly. Although we had gone for breakfast the menu looked varied and good value. I can’t wait to return. Going to try the afternoon tea.

We are regular visitors here and we are big fans! We usually have the afternoon tea, which is such good value for money and absolutely delicious! The ham used on the sandwiches is the best we’ve ever tasted and the homemade apple and blackberry pie is something else! There is a short wait as all the food is prepared fresh and there are signs up saying there is a longer waiting time during busy periods but I would say worth the wait every time!

We had read reviews by other people about this lovely little cafe so decided to give it a go. So glad we did. They were very busy and we had about a 30 minute wait for our food, but when it came it did not disappoint. Generous portions and well presented. Kath's home made chutney is delicious, and the home cooked ham excellent and thickly sliced. Hope to return in a couple of weeks and might try one of her breakfasts. If you are in the area please try Kath's beautiful little place and avoid the over priced food at the nearby garden centre.

Visited for Sunday lunch as it came recommended by a friend who has moved to the area and it certainly didn’t disappoint. The hubby had the roast lamb whilst I went for the beef which was so tender it melted in the mouth. Portions were on the large side and we came away feeling very full which left no room for dessert. The price of £7.80 each was such good value for money. A revisit is definitely needed just to try out their cake/scones which looked delicious.

We were in Derbyshire for my husband’s birthday and came across the farm shop and cafe by accident. So glad we did ! We had the fruit scones which were enormous and were served warm, with generous pots of butter and proper jam ! Bliss on a plate ! Tea was a good potful as well. We saw plates of sandwiches and hot meals being served and our mouths watered at all of them. We need to go back to try the roasts and the fish pie! On the way out we stepped inside the farm shop and were impressed with the array of farm veg and meats. So much so that I came out with a joint of pork that Kath assured me will provide me with great crackling. The cafe is small but I recommend it whole heartedly.....just make sure you save a seat for us !!!

Had a couple of stops here over the last month, both times the food has been brilliant. The range is great, well presented and good portions, my only slight negative is the over long wait for the food. Its not been busy on either visit but I waited @ 30 minutes for a slice of fruit pie then again today for a toasted sandwich. Its probably not the best place if you have small children either, its quite small inside and most tables are only for two although there is plenty of outside seating if its fine.

We called in for lunch on Sunday having driven by a few times in the past. There's ample parking, and the lovely decor in the place makes it feels like you're having a meal in the family house. The staff were lovely, food was fab, the portions big and really good value for money. The Sunday roasts looked great but we were looking for something "smaller". Note to self - if not hungry don't pick the ploughman's next time. It was lovely - but huge for £7.50 with ham, cheese, pork pie, egg and salad with coleslaw, mayonnaise & chutney. My husband had a toasted sandwich - again a good size and really nice. With a farmshop on site too it's a lovely place to visit. Look forward to next time.

I came here for lunch with a group on a weekday. There were plenty of tables and the menu was good. One of the specials was a minted lamb pie. A few of us had this and it was delicious. However, I was really disappointed that I couldn't have mine with chips (apparently, these are special and they don't do them every day).We had coffees there and decided to take some cakes to go, which they were more than happy to do. Called here for mid day meal based on some of the reviews below, first impressions were a little poor as there was no direction of what to do in the cafe, waitress just looked at us as we walked in and didn't even make comment. Aside from that we ordered Ploughmans, all good with that. Plenty of food and all fairly fresh which makes a change! We then ventured into the farm shop to buy some cake to eat later, well all I can say is.. I've just tucked into it and whilst the flavour isn't bad, the actual cake was extremely dense, not the best vs the price. Average rating from us because of the service and cake!

A little gem of a cafe and farm shop, off the beaten track but well worth a visit. We just called in for some bacon, but ended up buying a home-made fruit pie and some strawberries as well, as they looked so good. We were surprised to hear that the cafe was still open as it was about 4.45pm, but they stay open until at least 5.30, which is good to know as so many farm shops/cafes close well before this.We only wanted a cup of tea and a quick snack, but I was served the most enormous plateful of pate, toast, chutney and salad, which defeated me by a long way.We will certainly return when we are next in the area - but will make sure we are a bit hungrier to take advantage of the generous portions!

We got here to our table on time, although the table was not ready yet we were happy to wait outside as the weather was nice. However, had it not been nice we would have had to have waited in the rain. The food was excellent, very tasty. Too much apple on the hunters pork though if I were to make any suggestions. The only downside to this place was seeing 6 staff but waiting 30 minutes for sort drinks and 3 coffees. We ordered food at the same time and had to wait a further 30 minutes. Then being told we couldnt have Yorkshire puddings as they had ran out. They could have just made a few more as our party was a table of 8 and a baby. Desserts were very very nice and you could tell they were homemade. Sticky toffee pudding is definitely worth a try. Great with ice cream too! We found this little gem on trip advisor whilst driving back from a mid-week stay in the peak district. Easy to find, just follow the yellow signs for Riber View cafe and there is a large car park and a quaint cafe with a warm atmosphere and bags of character! We had the afternoon tea for 2, VERY reasonably priced with choice of sandwiches made from local produce (we had the salmon on oat bread and corned beef and chutney on white roll -the chutney made by the owner is heavenly!) with salad, tea with local full fat milk and choice of cakes (we had the treacle tart and chocolate slice, very happy indeed). We loved the chutney so much we bought a jar from the farm shop ajoining the cafe. Wished we had more time and tummy space for more as it seems the cafe does breakfast, lunch and dinner, even opening on christmas day!! Visited for a midweek lunch. It's in a lovely location, perfect for a drive out or for those on a ramble or bike ride. The car park is small, with a few spaces on gravel further around. Some tables outside and quite a few inside. The tables are quite small for those wanting a main meal. The menu was interesting and varied. I ordered the roast pork, my friend the baked potatoe. My roast was huge, with all the trimming and proper carved meat (highly recommended). The baked potatoe was an equally big portion, but they'd run out of coleslaw. Both meals were good value for money, the staff pleasant enough and the service good. I will return.

I had a lovely walk from our caravan nearby up to the farm shop for a pint of milk and a few top up food purchases ~ couldn't resist a lovely latte and slice of cake before I walked back! Great value and good home made food plus a beautiful location. By the way...photo was sent to my husband who had to go to work that day (showing him what he was missing!) but thought would share to show people reading reviews how nice it was!

I just love this place and go as often as I can - reasoning that if you've found somewhere marvellous why go anywhere else? Christmas lunch was fantastic, yet leisurely and unhurried and as expected the food was spectacular. I had smoked salmon salad for starters, followed by full Christmas lunch, then somehow managed a large amount of ice cream!

We have been to Kath's cafe many times have never had a complaint about food or service both excellent. So we went for "THE CHRISTMAS DINNER" now i did not get to 17 stone without eating a few large meals but this meal was the largest i have ever had put in front of me. Everything was cooked to perfection, roast parsnips and potatoes plus carrots, peas, sprouts and mashed potato. Also a very large helping of the most wonderful tasting turkey complete with bread sauce and cranberry sauce. We had hoped to be able to sample the pudding but no way could we eat any thing else after such a huge very enjoyable meal. Enjoy your holiday and we will be back to sample more when you open again.Barry & Sheila

My friend and I had been walking in Derbyshire. Having passed Kaths Riber Vuew cafe many times in the past I decided to give it a try. Okay, haute cuisine it may not be but it is good honest home cooked food, good sized portions and great value for money. If you fancy food just like mum used to make, give it a try. Great food, friendly staff, great value.

We have dropped in here for years on our way to the mother in laws (!)It is a delight. Good basic produce shop next door, plenty of parking, warm & comfortable, lots of nick-nacks for sale, nice loo! But it is the food - we tend to do the teacakes or scones - none better. decent choice of lunch foods as well. Can get a bit full of Lycra clad ageing cyclists with funny shoes and muddy walkers. Don'e expect to be overwhelmed by the greeting but it is a bit of a gem

Have been visiting here for some years now and always find the food good. Because it is cooked to order there is a long wait but it is worth it. There are splendid views and it is a great area for walking.

We have visited this cafe a couple of times recently. The food is lovely, good home cooked food. The portions are very generous, the Sunday lunch is delicious and the desserts are heavenly! It is well worth a visit, it is probably best to book for lunches at the weekend, as it does get very busy.

We called in to try this cafe after it had been recommended to us and we weren't disappointed. The food was good and plentiful and the service and atmosphere very friendly. After eating, we also enjoyed visiting the nearby farm shop.

Went for Sunday lunch yesterday on the recommendation of friends. Had to wait a considerable time for our order, but it did arrive nice and hot! Home cooked traditional food was served and for that we were very happy. The dining area is very small and quite cramped and just a little too claustrophobic for our comfort.

So glad we found this restaurant. My Niece recommended The Restaurant At The Renishaw to us and my family and I tried it out for Sunday lunch. The interior is nicely furnished and very pleasing to the eye. The food was absolutely outstanding and plentiful. The staff were all very friendly and very accommodating, even supplying crayons and paper for our 5 year old granddaughter. Our bill for the 6 of us. ( 5 adults and 1 child) came to £115. this was for 5 roast dinners including 2 types of meat. 1 glass of wine, 4 beers, a fruit shoot and 5 deserts. You would pay more for this at a local pub carvery and this was way better for quality and service. I highly recommend!!
