Friendly service freshly cooked delicious , easy to park and they hav a drive through as well chips are very good batter is gooy

Busy, well-staffed chip-shop. The fish was beautifully cooked, chips were fine, but what really impressed was the team-work and service provided by the relatively young staff. Yes, they were busy, but food arrived quickly and they had time to wish us a 'lovely evening' too. Recommended.

Had fish and chips for the family plus scampi and halloumi the fish was excellent as was everything else really friendly service as always and large portions by far the best chippy around

The meal was just ok, so didn't quite get the top marks. Firstly it was quite pricey and although the cod was cooked well, the chips were overcooked and overall the meal had little flavour.

Chips aren't as crispy as they used to be. Maybe they were warmed up from lunch time. Chicken was crisp and succulent but that was freshly cooked.

Always great food at Karsbergs. Freshly cooked and hot. Fish is excellent - fresh with batter crispy and light. Lovely chips crisp and not crispy. Usually use takeaway service but if collect staff always lovely. Definitely recommend.

This must be the best Fish and Chips in the area , the fish is fluffy the batter crisp , the chips are nice and crispy outside and soft and fluffy inside , and they actually taste nice not bland, I guess its the potatoes they use that make the difference. Even though the food is freshly cooked we didn't have to wait long . the staff were smiley and happy . and the icing on the cake is they have a gelato section that does ice cream ,waffles, milk shakes and churros. Lovely and highly recommended restaurant and takeaway .

Ordered here for the first time as moved into the area recently and was pleasantly impressed. Young and eager workforce who were happy to chat away and discuss our order and what they offer outside of the normal “chippy”. Ordered pretty standard and it had excellent cod, battered sausage and pea fritter but the chips were a little soggy. I’d return but I’d need better cooked chips next time and would order ahead as it did take over 15 minutes to get our order due to customer cooked to order (which isn’t a problem and is preferred of course. Just be aware there may be a wait).

Ordered delivery today. It was very late, which is not a problem, but the chips were lukewarm. We had to put them in the oven to heat them up. We have bought from Karsberg since they opened and the quality has gone downhill over the last year. All our haddock portions were very thin and tasteless. We had the same complaint a few months ago and when I phoned to complain they were not interested so I didn't bother tonight. We won't use them again

Disappointing... The fish was ok but... the chips were utterly dreadful... A bagful of overcooked scrappy-scrag chippings... I'm afraid that's twice now the chips have been awful, so no we won't be returning to Karsberg... Overpriced & not worth the money...

Just had our order delivered at 6.30 to say it was bad was an unstatement, the fish was swimming in oil and the pie was just inedible the chips were so soggy, we get are fish and chips from here all the time, but will be looking elsewhere it was just not worth the money ended up throwing it away

The fish was good and had a good batter BUT… please do something about your chips!!! They are horrible and had to throw them in the bin!! They were dry and inedible. Surely you can cook them to be crispy and fluffy!! AWFUL AWFUL CHIPS. Change your supplier please!!

Most perfect fish and chip shop. We travel 50 minutes and would never go anywhere else. Always hot, never greasy, well priced and staff are friendly.

Bought cod and chips for the family nearly had a heart attack at the cost for four small cod and chips, and to top it off the Fish was greasy the chips were soggy and most of our meals ended up in the waste bin, lesson learned never again. I see they are also below the hygiene rating at my usual chippy at Poulner

To start with, my car went into submarine mode trying to exit the drive thru. The pot holes are horrendous. Secondly, I get home and start eating my two steak and kidney pies I ordered, to find my last steak pie freezing cold. I cut it open and the meat is stone cold. I believe that the pie hadn’t even been put in the microwave. It was literally frozen gunk.

karsbergs is my local fish and chips and has always been lovely, highly recommend chicken burgers if you don’t want a fish alternative👍 chips fluffy and lovely salt and vinegar⭐️

Unfortunately I turned up at 8:50 pm, they close at 9pm. The chips were manky, luke warm, hard, uneatable, ...... the miserly penny pinching servers should have binned them. Totally out of order, unprofessional, and that is the last time they will ever serve me food products, my advise is simple, ....NEVER EVER BUY ANY FOOD AFTER 8:30 PM .....as it will be there left overs ....

Excellent white fish with crispy batter, not greasy or fatty. Chips were perfectly cooked. Portion sizes were very good and value for money. Would definitely use again.

This used to be my local Chippy and could not fault the quality of the Fish and Chips but what has happened ??? the last two times we went the food was awful, uncooked batter on the Fish and the chips good quantity but bad quality ,cold and greasy, Please look at the Reviews and try to improve as it used to be and we may like many others start to come back again but not if the food continues to be this bad and not to mention the high prices which are going up every time we visit and notice how many used to be customers have the same opinion. its a shame its gone downhill in this way. please dont ignore the customers reviews. Very noticeable the lack of usual customers as we drove by, not a good sign .

We bought Cod and Chips this Saturday evening around 6pm. Although the fish was good the chips were limp, soggy and dark in colour. They tasted like heated up old chips. Very disappointing and surprising as serving chips of this poor quality on. Saturday evening says they don’t care about their reputation. Most went in the bin. We won’t be back as feel ripped off for the price paid.

Very soggy batter and chips, fish ok but you really need crispy batter for fish and chips. £ 25 for 2 large fish and one potion chips plus one mushy peas. Bought in shop for take away. They put the fish on top of each other hence a soggy mess and stick ing to the paper....no vinger

Disappointed, the batter was, soggy, chips average, cannot complain about the portion size, but I would appreciate quality over quantity.

An hour late for our delivery of an average soggy dinner. When I called to ask where it was, they said “we give ourselves an hour after our stated delivery time”…. No thanks!

The food we ordered before we went to collect it was not ready. We waited and waited. On opening the food at our room, we found out that the batter is barely there. Chips were soggy. Peas were mushy.

Tried Using the drive thru, should of carried on driving through. Now I am happy to wait for food but when it arrives cold, soggy and bits of mushy pea on the fish(cross contamination??)we didn’t order mushy peas and as far as I am aware, the peas are served in a separate pot. Fish batter Also had black bits in and was more a brown batter then crispy golden. Really really poor show, felt like I was being penalised for using the drive thru,On another note, considering you offer a drive through they should really take responsibility of the road on the exit! We often eat with Karsberg’s Fish & Chips and they have been a godsend during this pandemic. Remaining open and constantly adapting. Food is always top notch and we wouldn’t go anywhere else. Great value for money, large portions and good quality food. The staff are very friendly and worked at such a fast pace. You won’t get a more efficient service. Happy customers

Fish cooked to perfection, good portions, yummy vinegar! Some chip shops really water their vinegar down but that’s not the case here. I used the delivery service for the first time and delivery was prompt and driver very friendly, food piping hot. Delicious! I am never disappointed with Karsberg’s they are my go to!

Having been here a few times recently I've always found the staff to be friendly. However, when I ordered my food tonight I saw the owner/fryer (Phil) drinking a can of lager behind the range and also putting jumbo sausages straight from the freezer into a bowl of water which he washes his hands in after using batter. Totally disgusting and will not be using this shop again.

I have used the ordering system during 2020 which is hit & miss. In my experience you become a second class Customer by using it who waits an hour & a half for fast food. I have had grit in previous order which damaged my tooth this did get initial interest from the restaraunt but then they lost interest very quickly. Have since had orders late & items missing tonight being the last time I would order from Karsberg thier answer to missing item today being phone lunchtime next day for a refund of missing item. Well I was hungry today & having waited over an hour I would have expected the order to have been checked before the delivery was sent which leaves the Customer paying for a delivery service & items missing. Good food sloppy service not good enough in a crowded market.

5.10pm ordered food on phone. Told by assistant food was ready for me to pickup. I said I would be there in 10 minutes. She said that's ok just give my name when I turn up as it was ready. . 5.20pm I arrived, small queue I gave my name and was told " just cooking your fish" I said I was told my order was ready 10 minutes ago. Waited, Waited and Waited. Half an hour in the shop and the meal was served at 5.50pm. Like the drive through, their system doesn't work. We weren't the only unhappy customers, some had to wait a long time outside. It's a shame as the food is good. Covid is no excuse for this poor service either.

Today they gave me outstanding service. After getting home my pie was missing, they delivered it and also gave me a refund for it. With a written apology. Best service you could wish for.

Ate here on first night in Poole. Coming from the Midlands, away from the seaside, it was nice to enjoy excellent quality fish and the chips were great too. Portion size was more than enough for a small cod and regular chips.

Staying nearby and the weathers was awful so we decided to eat “in” in our caravan. Found this shop on TA and the reviews were good so we thought we would give it a try. Clear instructions on entering the shop and my rider was soon taken by one of 3 girls behind the counter. Unfortunately they were very good at taking the orders quickly but rather slow at completing them. Thankfully after 20 mins of standing outside in the pouring rain our order was completed and we returned home to eat them. All the food was good and the portions were larger than average. Would we go again? Yes but be prepared to wait.

Having read such good reviews, maybe tonight was an off-night, but guess you cannot win them all. Disappointing, especially as my husband had to queue in the rain for some while, but this is obviously not their problem. The inside of the batter of our fish was not properly cooked so really quite soggy, and the fish itself was only just about ok. Following our first-time experience even as locals, we doubt whether we will use Karsberg;s again in view of our experience this evening, and so will continue to use our usual village shop. The price we paid was most certainly not warranted; nonetheless, we hope this was just a one-off, and wish Karsberg's well for the future, especially in view of the very difficult current circumstances.

Haven’t been for a while but last night got fish a chips, even though they were very busy the staff were very friendly, our food was ordered and collected quickly. And it was amazing the chips were really nice and fish was perfect not too much batter and not too greasy. Would definitely recommend!

First I want to emphasise that the fish and chips are amazing. Batter is light and fish is fried to perfection. Chip portions are huge. Staff are friendly.My issue is the drive thru service. 35 mins from the time of getting into the queue around back to getting my order. 2 cod and chips and battered sausage. I didn't want to catch my own dinner. I was asked to park up and then had to get out of my car to collect it from the window. The whole point of a drive thru is so you don't have to get out of your car. Young lady on window was polite and apologetic for the wait.Karlsberg's have made adjustments throughout the pandemic to keep customers and staff safe, so they could stay open and provide the area with the best fish and chips. Please sort out your drive thru!

Our daughter has just moved to the area and looking for a good chippy. After trying one around the corner that fell well below par, we found this one - must admit, we looked at reviews first and always take them with a small pinch of salt as I would rather make up my own mind. The shop was set up for social distancing, to which everyone was adhering too. The staff service was seamless and we hardly waited at all for our order, even though it was very busy when we got there. Fish was really fresh, with lovely big flakes and the chips were proper chippy chips, will definitely be ordering from there again.

Had 3 fish and chips as a Friday night treat !As always, was superb! My Auntie visiting could not get over the size of the portions too! ..... we struggled through! Delivery was very fast and the food was piping hot. Also had the curry sauce for the 1st time , delicious!Never disappoint us

We had some amazing gluten free fish and chips from Karsberg's. The guys working were great and very welcoming. My first time here but will definitely go back!

I was served by a very rude girl, she had a terrible customer service and after paying what I thought was a lot of money nearly £50 for 4 pieces of fish, 5 chips a small And large battered Sausage. When arriving home it was very greasy and not very warm in fact the worse fish and chips I have had in a long time! As I said to my family the cost would not of been relevantIf if it had been nice and we had eaten it, as it was most of the chips went in the bin as well as most of the fish, an experience not to be repeated.

Wonderful fish and chips. Light ‘melt in the mouth’ batter, superbly crisp yet fluffy chips, chunky cod - what more do you want? Pea fritter of course! And that was just fab.

We had a large family gathering and so pre ordered. The food was ready less than 3 minutes of us arriving to collect. Supporting adults with special needs and learning difficulties during lockdown hasn't been easy when it comes to Saturdays when they normally go out for a nice lunch. But Karsbergs Fish & Chips have made saturdays something to look forward to! Outstanding service, friendly, efficient, quick and easy, order and pay over the phone and collect at the front hatch, no waiting or queuing, no problems, no complaints and not a scrap left....food is yummy!! We ordered Fish & Chips at lunch time and the food was absolutely amazing (best chips I have ever eaten)The staff are so helpful and friendly and a very helpful young lady Holly served us and she was so nice and polite.Both my Daughters work here and I am extremely proud of them especially in these unprecedented times. They work hard as do all the staff to ensure people can still have their Fish & Chips all served from a safe working environment.To all the people that post negative comments or verbally abuse the staff here, please take a long hard look in the mirror at yourself and realise these people are somebody's son or daughter doing an absolutely sterling job in very difficult timesI have come from Twyford to eat here so that tells you how good it is and will be coming back again and again.Well done everyone at Karlsberg's and you should all be so proud of the job you do and the service you deliver especially in these difficult times.

Once again the quality of the Cod and chips was first class. I have purchased Cod and chips from Karsberg's over a period of three years and the standard of my favourite meal has remained constantly at a very very high level and certainly miles apart from their competitors.Cleanliness is always perfect with all members of the staff buying into the operation.Well done Karsberg's keep up the fantastic work and congratulations on your home delivery service which is helping a lot of elderly people in the area.

Since lockdown Phil, Adele and the team have been phenomenal. They set up a delivery service from day one, put in social distancing measures at the shop and devised an easy to use app, whilst still maintaining their excellent standards of food and service. They've been generous in providing meals to the elderly and vulnerable at their own cost. We've had a weekly delivery and the fish, chips and mushy peas were delivered on time and were of the usual excellent delicious quality.

You have been utterly brilliant since lockdown and way before. A brilliant business, family run and community friendly. Thank you so much. Have ordered delivery a number of times (used to collect but obvs cant at the moment). Delivery is always really prompt and food is great.Wish people would understand that its going to take longer than normal etc. These people are putting themselves at risk to ensure that we all get a little bit of normality in our lives and are doing their best operating in these unprecedented times.We've ordered a few times recently, food is always warm (and hey, if its not warm enough for you chuck it in the microwave or oven for a few minutes, its bot rocket science) and tastes great (recently had cod, scampi, sausages and a great veggie burger). I have had several take aways from here always very good, hot and delicious. My son lived just around the corner from you, he has now very sadly passed away but i wanted to say how happy you made him last year when you delivered him a delicious free massive portion of fish, chips and peas as a surprise treat. I have been a customer of Karsberg’s for many years. Never once has the exceptional quality and service disappointed. As with all review sites Tripadvisor gives the opportunity not only to give deserved accolades such as this but also sadly it opens the door for unjustified criticism from individuals with their own questionable agendas.
