Really, really nice food. Came from Coventry, to visit family and went here as it was recommended. Lamb and chicken in the dishes were fresh and beautifully cooked. Well spiced dishes, very tasty. Service was great too! If visiting Ferndown again, this will be my first port of call for food!!

Had a lovely family meal with 6 of us. If you go on a Wednesday you get a great 5 course deal only costing £19.95 each. Food is amazing quality and the staff are always so helpful. Would recommend to anyone in the local area.

The online booking system was easy to use and we had a phone call to confirm our booking which was a nice touch. Great busy restaurant - with a good value meal deal on a Wednesday evening. Very good menu choice - especially for vegetarians and a helpful spice rating for each dish. It makes it even better value with us bringing our own bottle of wine! Will definitely come here again.

Booked a table for dinner as we were staying at the Premier Inn nearby & wanted a good curry within walking distance of the hotel. We were not disappointed. Even booking the restaurant was handled in a friendly & professional manner. They told us that they do not serve alcohol but that we could bring our own without any surcharge. When we arrived we were greeted immediately & shown to our table. The food was amazing & the service so friendly & professional. Their naan bread is the lighest I have eaten anywhere & their onion barjee's were beautifully crunchy on the outside & soft inside without being greasy. Their curry menu is varied with choices for everyone no matter what heat they prefer. We really enjoyed our meal & will definitely visit again if we're in the area. Can't recommend this place enough - go with an empty stomach though as portion sizes are very generous.

Four of us came last night and the food was just incredible, my husband especially loved trying the the lamb paneer shashlik for the first time. All the waiters are so accommodating and friendly, helpful and go above. Banquet night is such great value, portions are huge. 10* Joy 😋

Would not recommend! Arrived and it seemed very welcoming and friendly. Took 25 minutes till someone took our order then waited over 1 hour for a starter whilst other tables continued to get meal after meal. Apparently because we didn’t order the banquet we get served last even though we had booked our table in advance and had a 6 month old baby with us. The waiter stuck his hand down his pants to pull his boxers out of his arse before taking someone’s food to their table. Very unjoyful experience will not be returning! Not surprised all their other restaurants have been closed down this will soon be the next one. We walked out and went to cinnamon much better experience!!!!

Amazing food and great service would recommend

It was our first visit to Joy as we are visiting the area on holiday. I believe where I come from in the North west has a very high standard of Indian restaurants however we cannot speak high enough about Joy. Between 4 of us we had Chicken Tikka and mixed kebab starters which were fantastic. The chicken was incredibly tender. We followed on with Chicken Tikka Dopiaza, Chicken Tikka Saag and Butter Chicken. All 3 dishes were of the best taste we have had in many years, the food was genuinely that good, along side that the portions were also very big. I also have to give a special mention to our Waiter Farhan, delightful young man who was very friendly and helpful which added to a first class experience. Give Joy a go you it won't disappoint

We were visiting the area from Leicester and had to visit Joy. The food was absolutely incredible, with large portions and amazing taste, and the service was brilliant too. We would especially recommend the 'Wednesday banquet', which was very much enjoyed and was great value for money. We will definitely be visiting again when we are back in the area.

We have been coming to Joy for many years. Indeed is a joy for both food and service either eating in or takeaway so we highly recommend it.

Took the family out for dinner tonight and what a delight it was to be welcomed by the staff at the joy, the staff were very accommodating to my fussy children and the food was delicious.

Always a great night at joys - the service is fab, food fantastic and love being able to bring our own drinks. Set menu on a Wednesday is great value but other nights always have the salmon shaslik it's delicious.

Went for the banquet evening last minute decision and they kindly fitted us in despite being busy, The food was really good and a nice atmosphere. A special mention to Kamran who was a very attentive waiter

The waiter, Ridhwan was top-notch, really made the dining experience special. Now, the dish I had, the chicken naga, was an absolute flavor explosion! The spices were on point, and the chicken was tender. Overall, Joy is a gem, and I highly recommend giving it a try!

Went in for the Wednesday special which was fantastic. The mix starter was lovely. We both loved the crispy onion bhajee. The main of lamb biryani was also fabulous. I loved how they could tweak the dishes to suit our individual spice rating. The staff super friendly and an incredible credit to the restaurant.

I went here of a weekday after a busy day at work and my gosh it was stunning! The staff are instantly to your attention as soon as you enter the restaurant and are the most kind and helpful staff. The food is unreal and such good Indian and I’ve been here a couple times before and every time without fail, food and staff are on point and consistently performing at their best. The value for food as an Indian is very good considering how good the food is at a reasonable price for the quantity and quality. The restaurant is very comfortable and in a calming and relaxing environment with a audience that is not to loud or to quite it is just perfect for you to feel that you are in a sociable environment while enjoying your time and talking to each other without shouting. Really recommend and everyone is just so helpful and consistent at performing the best they can for you to enjoy your experience at an Indian and will be delighted to help with an allergies and questions about food or drinks.

I visited JOY restaurant a few times in recent months whilst visiting Dorset both for take aways and to eat in with family members. Knowing a number of different Indian restaurants I definitely have found both the staff, the service and especially the food to be outstanding! Had a really wonderful experience each time visiting Joy for these reasons, the portions were great and the taste of each meal exquisite! Hope to return soon!!

Every time we go to Joy it is such a great experience in every respect! The food is so delicious (tastiest curry you will find for miles!), the service is impeccable with super friendly staff, and the atmosphere is great too - especially for Wednesday banquet - you need to book though it's so popular! If you like hot - then I highly recommend the Naga curry - especially the tender melt-in-the-mouth Naga Lamb! I bring all my family and friends here whenever I can as I know they won't be disappointed! Joy by name Joy by nature! :)

Guys this is to share the worse experience ever I had in my entire life , we 5 gone there for dine in and order was taken after 15 min, the food came like 25 min late and food was not too good and cost is very high as well as they charge service cost like 12£ extra for dinein, from my view if anyone want to go to eat good food don’t go there and food was like every item they had like- sea food , chicken everything having same taste same masala So better don’t waste ur time and money

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Joy Indian Restaurant in Ferndown, and it was truly a delightful experience. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted warmly by the staff, who provided excellent service throughout the meal. The food was simply outstanding, with each dish bursting with authentic flavors and expertly prepared. I particularly enjoyed the chicken Dhansak, which was a perfect balance of spices and tender chicken. The ambiance of the restaurant was inviting and cozy, making it the perfect place for a relaxing evening out. I highly recommend Joy to anyone craving delicious Indian cuisine served with a smile. I will definitely be returning soon!

Great food & great service, always visit when we are in the area

Comfortable, non rushed restaurant. Waiters are very friendly but not overfussy. Will help when needed but won't pressure you to rush and finish your meal. Food is very tasty, even extra spicy dishes have flavour you can taste rather than just kill your taste buds. Before we moved to this area we had been going to the same Bangladeshi restaurant for 25 years. Joy Ferndown is definitely on a par. Non licensed but can take your own drink with no corkage charges. Strongly recommend

I had a takeaway bit annoying they don't take card I fortunately live near a cashpoint. Food was delicious especially the chicken.

The food and the staff were both very good. The atmosphere however was not. Joys is too white and bright, a bit like a dentist waiting room. They really need some dimmer mood lighting. Overall experience was good.

Joy in Ferndown is my go-to Indian restaurant. I’ve been eating there for years. The food is consistently great, the service always polite and professional. Honestly, there’s nowhere locally to beat it. If you haven’t tried Joy yet, a good place to start would be the Wednesday night banquet night, 5 courses for £17.95. The restaurant doesn’t have a licence to sell alcoholic drinks so it’s either alcohol free or bring your own, which makes a big difference to the bill! My personal favourites are the Lamb Naga and the Bangla Cod but I’ve yet to have anything I haven’t enjoyed. Highly recommend.

I would not recommend the takeaway service at all. Pre ordered. Was late and had to phone to remind. Steer clear.
