Karim's in Rochdale

I booked a reservation here for me and my boyfriend for a nice relaxing evening. We were greeted with hostility as soon as we arrived by the front host- no warm welcome challenged if we even had a booking. I advised we had a reservation and we were lead to our table. The food was not cooked from fresh, and the selection was limited. My boyfriend and I ordered a Diet Coke and regular, they tasted so flat and we couldn’t tell what we were drinking. We asked a waiter if his drink was diet to his reply was “how do I know? I didn’t serve you the drinks.” This obviously did not end well as my boyfriend challenged this waiter and his RUDE attitude. The waiter was screaming and swearing to the point the manager had to come over. I asked for this waiter to be removed as he had provoked my boyfriend and was adding fuel to the fire. Eventually 5 minutes later he was asked to be move from the seating area. I was trying to explain to the manager what had happened, but he completely dismissed me and he was trying to calm my boyfriend down (far too late). We got up and left, and the front host made a remark we were leaving early. I advised him the situation, about his waiter and he had no response. No apology was given. I would not recommend this place. RUDE DISGUSTING service and staff. Complete circus show!

Fuimos en una excursión familiar aquí y no me decepcionó. Excelente comida con mucha variedad. El ambiente también era perfecta y los camareros todos hicieron su trabajo perfectamente. La única queja es que una mayor variedad de postres no estaría mal. Aparte de eso, todo bien. Sin duda volveremos de nuevo

Attended Karims with a bunch of family and although I did not necessarily enjoy the food, the staff were pleasant and the restaurant has a lovely family feel. The seating area is family friendly with high chairs available.The downside of the evening was that there was a wedding reception at the same time, this meant that we were waiting a while for the food and also meant that some of us were captured in the wedding photography/recording. There is not much food selection and the deserts are the biggest let down, we had to ask for ive cream and cake and it was not what I expected at a 'buffet'. We also had to wait 5 minutes for our drinks! Overall it is an average place and well worth the money you pay. If you want a selection of cheap Indian food, in a nice (ish) place, with good waiter service then this is your place.
