Karibbean Kitchen in Thurrock

I was extremely impressed by the warm atmosphere and the friendly customer service of this restaurant. What topped it was the well cooked food and I am so pleased the Jerk chicken was well seasoned!!

My son recommended. And I wasn't disappointed. Delivery quicker than asspected. Ribs melt in yr mouth . Goat curry first time I've had and wont be the last. Home cooked chunky chips lovely . And all hot. Ty. I will be ordering again..

First food review I've written but felt I had to so that other people dont waste their money. Jerk chicken, rice and peas. Awful. Chicken was simply not edible, burnt to the point of being charred, bitter and hard on the outside whilst the inside hadnt got enough heat at all. Rice bland. Simply not worth eating. Rice was palatable if you had it with the coleslaw, but the chicken was simply dreadful. Shouldve just had some toast instead- wouldve been a better meal. Hope the owner is prepared the same meal that I just had- try eating it and go to another Carribean Jerk chicken shop and compare your food with theirs. Jerk chicken is not this. More like forget to marinade it, stick a bit of sauce on it and then forget you've left it on a hot bbq for half hour. 🤮

Don't order from this restaurant unless you are looking for a Burnt, bland, tasteless meal, something caribbean food could never be described as.. The Jerk chicken is, Burnt, Burnt so that its black! its bitter to the taste because of this, and is not in anyway jerk chicken, it lacks any of the heat and authentic taste, or any taste, except for a burnt bitterness. Where are the peppers and Onions?? that warm dark sweetness with the heat of the caribbean.. Anyway to sum up the chicken, its simply the worst ive ever seen, tasted and disposed mostly in the bin. On the flip side the rice is far from cooked and lacked any flavour. Thyme, scallion, scotch bonnet, garlic and coconut are just some of the flavors that are missing from what should be the most comforting of comfort food rice. Most disappointed. never again

I was very excited after reading the two reviews above to order some Caribbean food, however the food was a let down... rice and peas was old and dry.... quite hard and just didn’t taste fresh... also the Mac and cheese was like looking at an old position left in the fridge... had no taste and just couldn’t eat it as it did not look presentable at all.... hand cut chip was so oily and soggy and the goat curry taste off... only dish we liked was the chicken curry.... sadly I won’t be ordering from this place again.

as previous reviewer said I've been driving past here for a while and keep forgetting. Ordered family feast last week food was really good meat fell off the bone it was so tender .It's a nice change to the usual chicken,pizza and kebab places in the area.They had forgot part of my order only noticed when i got home called them and the missing items were delivered in under 10 minutes really good service will definitely be using this place again.

Called in there around 9pm, one of those places id been meaning to eat at, and was very pleasantly surprised. The staff were very friendly and warmly greeted us. The food was ordered and came very quickly. I had the Mac & Cheese which was delicious, very light and very tasty. The real chips (not from frozen) were extremely good, as well as the good Coleslaw. Portion size was good and i enjoyed all that i ate with my Latte coffee. My partner ordered the Jerk chicken with rice with side salad, and he also though-roughly enjoyed his meal. We chatted away with the lady and the chef and both were lovely and passionate about the restaurant and providing good quality food to customers. It has a very good day menu too which i read and i can't wait to work my way through both the day and night menus. The whole place was very clean, well lit and the toilets lovely as well Would highly recommend eating here!! well done :)
