Both bouncers extremely rude. It’s a shame because it would be a great place.

Went out for a smoke, both bouncers wouldn't let us back in to get our jackets. Disgusting behaviour.

Packed as international rugby day

Went to the toilet, some man put spray on me, I said thank you and went to leave, he DEMANDED that it wasn't free, I apologised and asked how much, he said £2. I said I'll pay this time but you're clearly running a scam, he then said £4, u said I can only afford 2, he said no. I went to leave the toilet and he tried to force the door shut, as i forced my way out, he kicked me, I reported it to staff, after 5 minutes they came to me and claimed he said "you kicked him and we don't want trouble so you'll have to leave" and I was kicked out. I was questioned "what's the issue if you say you have the money?" I said the issue is that he doubled the price as soon as I was willing to pay

Stumbled on this beauty of a cocktail bar all very much tiki bar themed went during happy hour on a Saturday 2 4 1 cocktails tried the passion caiprosky soo good had it twice (as in 4) tried the white chocolate martini style glass and also a raspberry something all bloody delicious

Didn't have any food, but the cocktails were lovely, and the place had a nice atmosphere

Last night a woman working gave a derogatory remark to one of the people in a party, shocking manner and language towards another customer. Abysmal customer service!

Nice place. We attended a birthday party with a private section at one end. Really liked the service with the staff bringing the drinks to our table. A very nice experience.

We had my sisters 30th at club Kapu. It was amazing the staff were really attentive! The drinks packages were such good value for money, the location was perfect. I’d recommend it to everyone

Booked this for a work party and I can honestly say amazing service and great venue. Really looked after us and Everyone really enjoyed the night.

The staff were lovely always on hand to serve you drinks at the table, in v.i.p area. Cocktails were delicious. They organised the balloons and bubbly on arrival for my daughters 21st. Will deffo book another group occasion soon.

Elle really went above and beyond to make sure we had the best night. She played all our song requests and made sure we had a really good night. Will definitely be returning. Thanks Elle xx

With the right group of people this place could be fun. Nice cocktails and friendly staff, the music wasn't my style. Tell me if you spot a middle age guy on the floor giving it all if the worst dad dance moves you've ever seen. Lol

Very busy when visiting after recent rugby match. Took AGES to get served, people ordering cocktails which slowed bar staff down as they needed time to make them. Nice atmosphere

Very pleasant visit to Kapu in Cardiff, was only a short visit to bring my day to an end. The cocktails are both amazing and fruitilicious. If your ever in Cardiff I highly recommend swinging by to Kapu its surley is a place for you or even two.

Wonderful evening at Kapu celebrating my daughters birthday. Elle and staff were fantastic. Nothing too much trouble. Bar staff and doormen highly professional. Reasonably priced for a super venue. The youngsters had a blast and have definitely found a new venue to frequent. Can’t praise enough. Thoroughly recommend.

Kapu is amazing because the staff are friendly and they have the drinks that you may want to drink and you can have a dance on the dancefloor

My go to place in Cardiff, love it here really is the best cocktail bar. The atmosphere is great they have an awesome DJ and the team can't do enough for you when making bookings for VIP. If your looking for a night out with friends kapu is the place to go.

A good place to start your night off in Cardiff

Good little cocktail bar/club, DJ was decent if a little generic, could have leaned into the Pacific/Tiki theme a bit more. Drinks were good, menu cocktails decent although mostly over sweet. Off menu cocktails were excellent, ask for Tom and say what you want, mixology knowledge is good although the bar lacks some ingredients.

Rob was amazing, he was so welcoming. The female manager was so rude

Amazing experience at Kapu ❤ staff were lovely and super attentive, Elle organised my table for my 24th bday with friends and it was so lovely we had a whole bit to ourselves and she couldn't do enough. Made for a lovely celebration thank you guys x x x

Refused to take responsibility for the man in the bathroom selling aftershave making my friend uncomfortable. Or the man screaming at him for not wanting to be in the male bathroom and wanting to use female as he felt he was being ostracised for being gay. Understand he can’t use the female but shouldn’t be allowed to feel uncomfortable in the male and would rather him just use the toilet in a safe space. Let the manager know and he proceeded to isolate my friend as he obviously would say it was okay when anxious by himself. Overall not a safe feeling or open space.

Still not happy booked a table for drinks for 7 people mid April and paid a deposit for It too and due to certain circumstances they had to close the bar, however with many emails promising to trust them that I will get the money back as soon as possible it’s been many weeks and they still haven’t sent it over which isn’t very good!

Expensive drinks and no Happy Hour like most of the other local cocktail bars. Drinks were well made and delicious though. Not much of an ambiance as it was quite early (and empty) when we went there. The barmen were lovely though.

This place was incredible, the staff were really friendly and super helpful. We mentioned it being a hen do and they decorated our table which was such a lovely touch. The security were really nice and friendly - ps thank you for helping my friend down the stairs! Music and ambiance was great and the DJ played a good variety.

Good place. Came here the other week and came across some trouble, but the doormen were bloody great, and the bar staff were more than helpful. Drinks in here ain't too bad, and prices are always quite competitive around the area, so it's not too expensive for a round of drinks.nice choice of music here also if you're into a random selection of modern music.

Yes this was the second time we booked a table for the rugby has 20 of us ex veterans attend an we had a fabulous time all the staff were brilliant including door staff an excellent facilities including the gentlemen "s room an refreshments so thank you once again

Kapu used to be awesome with the yacht club DJ's with live percussion and cool tunes. Now it's just absolute cheese music and over zealous door staff.

Lovely bar but not enough space to make drinks for the amount of people that are there. There is a separate queue for non-Cocktail orders to improve the speed of serving however when I went last they were also making cocktails in this queue. Took me about twenty minutes to order a pint.

Fantastic service, atmosphere and drinks. Staff went out of their way to congratulate us when my party made a booking to celebrate finishing exams. The music was great and the actual place is decorated beautifully. The only drawback was that happy hour was not on as advertised

Good atmosphere, friendly staff, nice drinks but overpriced

All staff are very rude. The orders hot mixed all the time and come with delay. I don't recommend it at all! If you decide to come over you will be told off almost for everything! The security guy is very aggressive and he told us that we have been rude just because we wanted to go to the toilet. This is ridiculous and this place should be closed down forever.

I have just been reminded of this event 3 years ago and decided to fairly review the establishment. I was given premium rate drink when I didn't specify it, so I refused to pay. The bar staff then gave me a choice to pay for the drink or leave. So I chose to leave. However on my way out the owner told the door staff not to let me leave at which point I tried to call the police but the door staff took my phone. Eventually the threat of police intervention made them release me. I hope Covid makes this place go under.

Went here for friends leaving do. Lovely environment and good vibe. Cocktails looked lovely (I didnt drink), staff friendly. As expected when busy, getting served can be a challenge.

Lovely place to go for the rugby - been a few times now and always really enjoyed. I must say however that I was disappointed that the sound wasn't on for the Scotland v England game today. Just because Wales aren't playing, it doesn't mean there aren't other rugby fans in the bar. It would he nice to hear both games before the music is on full blast for the rest of the night, especially during the Six Nations and as we had booked specifically for the rugby. Thanks

Excellent place for weekend vibes. Having good sound tracks, people's those who want to dance on punjabi or hindi songs you can get few of them here.

Salsa night Tuesday and Thursday

We went a bit early so it was really quiet, however the place would be good when busy, the decor was cool and they had 241 cocktails for £7 and they were really nice and tropical. Me and my friends had a good laugh in this bar, would definitely be better when busy

Seems to cater to hen & stag dos, & groups who've come down from the valleys. Pros - staff were friendly. Happy hour cocktail offers were a good deal. The drinks were well made & tasted lovely. Music is is mainstream, so great if you're looking for a cheesy dance. Staff collect empties regularly. Cons - it smells vile, as though every man in there decided to pass wind in unison. Every girl knows the toilet hover. I didn't even want my gaze to touch the toilet. The dance floor is the route to the loos, so a lot of shoving and pushing fun to be had when you're trying to enjoy a dance. Not sure it's accessible for disabled people. It's upstairs. Didn't see an obvious lift, but there may be.

We had a fabulous time at this bar Believe a salsa social or a group was there showing off their dancing skills. It was a truly magical night. Enjoyed the drinks, decor, music and service was quick.

Booked an area here for a 21st birthday and the night we had was amazing!! Was so so cheap to book and what you had for it was amazing. The venue was all decorated when we arrived and Prosecco waiting on the table. The staff were so friendly and welcoming and nothing was too much for them! Massive thank you to the organiser Elle who bent over backwards for us! Such an amazing atmosphere I cannot wait to arrange the next night there. Mixture of all ages and every single person enjoyed! Cocktails are made with fresh fruit, not my cup of tea but a nice gimmick. They host salsa lessons on the 'dance floor' which overflows to the bar and blocks the route to the toilet, all a bit odd if I'm honest.

I love this place. The music is great. Staff work well and smile. Be nice a it's returned with a smile. Cocktail are two for one until around 9. All types of music for all ages.

Disgusting place... Sticky floors, uninteresting drinks and a rather chavy clientele I am afraid I can only add to the original review and not reply to you. We came on the Saturday 16 March. Outside of the fact that the floors were sticky and tables not cleaned, the toilets were absolutely vile. The menu of drinks was not inventive and honestly your staff was not particularly friendly or fun. I am sorry but I will stick to my rating.

Has a lot of potential to be a really cool bar, but music is the same as any other clubs. Worth a visit though.

There's a great atmosphere here, with classes you can take part in. The selection of cocktails is brilliant and the staff are very friendly. Lovely for a drink in an evening with friends, with the 2for1 cocktails making it a very affordable option.

Recommended as 5* as an easy place to get cocktails on a Saturday evening that wasn't a crush! The decor is laid-back Hawaiian, which isn't my personal taste, but it was a friendly, relaxed kind of place with nice cocktails and very friendly staff who brought the cocktails to the table so I didn't have to wait around for ages at the bar after buying the drinks. Discovered by chance, but I will be going back. I asked for a daiquiri and they made me a lovely raspberry daiquiri that wasn't a even on the menu. Happy days :-)

Bar staff are great here. Fast, polite and fun. Great vibe here on a match day. My only quibble is that they could do with a bigger screen! Other than that, a top sports bar .
