Coyote Ugly Saloon in Cardiff

We had a lovely time celebrating a hen do and were looked after amazingly by Lauren - we couldn’t believe it when she said she had only worked there a few days!! She was amazing and always kept checking back on us! We never ran out of drinks and she was so friendly - made the experience just that extra bit special for our hen! Thank you Lauren, you made the night for us! The music was amazing and kept everyone from all ages dancing. The security guards made sure we were safe and were friendly but firm. Thanks to all staff for making our time enjoyable and safe! Will defo be back ✨✨

Fantastic atmosphere and a genuinely friendly place to be. 12 of us were on a stag do and were treated no differently to normal punters. Great bar staff who were fast and friendly as to we’re the other staff. A big thank you and shout out to Carl and all the door staff who we all thought made us feel really welcome and also helped us when we were separated and stranded. Big shout to all of you!! Definitely will be returning and we’ll done for running such a good ship Thanks again

A little dubious booking a table here having read some of the reviews, but we had an amazing night. On arrival we skipped the queue as we had pre booked and we're taken to our table by a friendly member of staff. Drinks order was taken and served promptly. Everyone was in party mode, the atmosphere was amazing. We danced all night and left absolutely buzzing. Best night out we have had in a long time.

Bouncers on the doors are very unprofessional instigating situations from nothing and aggressive as can be. They shouldn't be anywhere near the doors buy im sure the staff inside are lovely so nothing against them but the bouncers especially the older guy are a joke.

Bouncers accused me of taking something which I was on the toilet. Didn't give me a chance to explain, when drinking, I use the toilet and dont let me explain i have trouble when i use the toilet sometimes after drinking. Bouncers don't listen. Bad management. Accused something I didn't do!!

Went out in Cardiff on a Friday evening for a Stag party. There was 30 members in total and due to the size of the group had been turned away from alot of venues. One of our members had had a little bit to much to drink as in most cases someone always get a bit silly. After speaking with the fantastic door team we were successful at gaining entry to the venue and had such a brilliant night the atmosphere was amazing. The head doorman 'Paul' understood our situation and empathized with us to ensure our night could continue. Also with 'Paul' and one of his staff members 'Patrick' in my opinion nailed the job role... great security team, showed us respect and was extremely polite, professional and top people. Can't wait to go back again and would recommend a night out here. Chris

Absolutely disgraceful, staff are incredibly disrespectful, grabbed up two of my friends, nearly put them in hospital, over a QR code for the bull rodeo, Unlucky as we work within the law so had been taken further with the police, this is the third time we’ve been kicked out over the last year over no wrong doing, must be discriminated against, poor poor effort

I went in at 6pm on a Wednesday evening, ordered a drink and a few food items, I’m the only customer in the building. I sit there for an hour, no food. So I ask the bartender (who took my food order) what the deal was, and she says, “go talk to the manager”. I tell her, “I don’t know who the manager is, can you go get them for me?”, and she just walks away. 10 minutes later the manager comes up and tells me they don’t have a cook come in during the week, only on weekends. So these brainless girls took my order, had me pay for it, and didn’t even realize there wasn’t a cook, at the place they goto everyday to work. No apology at all, and I had to argue to get my money back. They kept trying to get me to take more drinks instead. To top it all off, these girls weren’t even hot.. just bordering mental disorders.

Well priced bottomless brunch with a good selection of drinks and nice pizza, staff Very accomidating and do the most they can for you.

A simply dreadful experience as part of the £60 package for the rugby. If I could give 0 stars I would. Staff were clueless and unhelpful, as didn't get food or drink for 40 minutes since arriving and overall the package we were sold simply was not delivered. The food was cheap and poor quality, staff disinterested, atmosphere bang average and just not worth the money. Avoid at all costs!

Let a lone 20 year old woman walk herself home at 1am, during winter. Avoid like the plague, for safety

the girl turned me down for a toilet just because i didn’t want to order anything in a place that closes in 15 min. i had a luggage on me and clearly everyone was shutting so where would i go? that’s not the attitude, good luck in your business when you realise greed is not what gets you there.

A great place to go on hoilday and staff were really friendly nice to chat too and even the doormen was really cool and I managed to talk about whisky and he showed me a drink to try... I will look forwards to coming again soon... Thanks for a great evening 😀 very reasonable drinks was having double vodka and coke. I so can't wait to go home but will miss this bar especially.

The bar is nice, the atmosphere great, and bar staff are lovely. went during the 6 nations so the rugby was playing but I can appreciate that during times music is playing it's a great atmosphere, but I'm sorry, the draught is awful, there's a wide selection but having tried a cruzcampo and a Heineken, it tastes far too vinegary, as if the lines hadn't been cleaned for a long while. Friday night 8-10pm

Big hype for bar staff rude and clearly not wanting to be there. Made to feel unwelcome won’t be returning. £6 for a pint to want to leave immediately.

Very disappointing with regards to music selection. We went for the ‘Rhinestone Rodeo’ on NYE thinking it would country music but how wrong we were. There was one ‘country’ song played and when I asked the DJ if they would be playing more, her response was simply ‘we have and we will play more’. Did anymore country songs come on - no they didn’t. Disappointing and won’t be rushing back unfortunately.

Walked in there....and what appeared to be a baby elephant was gyrating above the bar, so that put me off eating there. My brothers girlfriend then had her handbag stolen. He tracked her Iphone to a house full of Romanians and demanded it back. Obviously this is not the bars fault....but when reading on here about bouncers strangling people who were trying to have a quiet night etc. it makes you wonder what their priorities are?

We’ve come down for a hen do. Lori was absolutely amazing hosting the line dancing for Chelsea’s hen do! She was so patient, full of energy, and always up for a laugh, which made the whole experience unforgettable. We all had the best time and can’t recommend her highly enough!

Very disappointed with the rules of dancing on the bar. Staff assuming peoples genders! Yes I might look like a "male" but how do they know what I identify as? OK, so I may not roll with all that nonsense but I could dance the ass off the "ladies" volunteering for the bar dance... Here to make memories with an old friend & DEINED!

Had the worst experience at this place with my partner. They had a big ad at the entrance claiming they were the winner of Wing Fest, which we love. So, we decided to give it a try. As soon as I walked in, I told them I wanted to order takeaway because we didn’t want to eat in such a loud place. The girl at the counter said, ‘OK,’ but she was extremely rude and seemed more interested in talking to her friends than helping us. After waiting 20 minutes (even though the place was empty), she finally came out with the food and said, ‘The chef said he doesn’t have a takeaway box, so here’s your food,’ then threw it on the table and walked away. My partner went to speak with the chef, and thankfully, he managed to find a plastic box for us. The girl’s behavior was extremely rude. I think you should consider removing the ads from the entrance if this is the kind of experience customers can expect.

Came with friends while visiting Cardiff for a Halloween night. Was sat down with another friends just resting and not doing anything when a group of 5 people came over sitting next to us instigating things. We didn’t react and just sat there until one guy pulled me ghost face mask off my face and I grabbed it (not him) to stop him. One of the girls in the group pushed my friend and I took my mask off to ask the guy what he was trying to do. As we got up to leave the bouncers grabbed us by our necks chocking us, leaving one of my friends with a bleeding eyes and another with a busted lip, and myself with a mark on my neck. People around us grabbed our coats and bags as they saw what happened and helped get it to us outside as we were dragged out. However, the group that instigated us and started a fight were treated nicely and just pulled by the arm while bouncers laughed and joked with them. I’m disgusted by how this establishment treats its costumers; especially when people are victims or violent people and are treated as the ones who started a fight. A night that was meant to be a reunion of friends for fun and dance turned into a traumatic stress event that left us certainly never wanting to return to this place again.

Rude staff..after loosing my bag and being told to come next day at12 I was told to wait 1-2 hours so she could check,I explained I had no card or phone and was travelling back home for a 5 HR drive and had nothing to keep me occupied for the time she wanted me to return,no empathy or understanding of my situation at all,very standoffish and selfish! I was visibly upset and she didn't care, I returned much later and it took her 2 minutes to go in the back and check! Kinda ruined my experience of this place!

Was expecting a lovely night as it was my birthday and ended with multiple punches in the back of the head and my friend punched in the eye by a group of men on the dancefloor. The security barely cared and moved on a jiffy NOT A SAFE SPACE FOR WOMEN BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU GO HERE

The place was over packed smelt of sweaty men, no room to walk or dance, drinks were over priced and small, didn’t have food, had a good and lively atmosphere, dj was good, bar staff were friendly and fast, the security guards were rude, I wasn’t allowed on the bar to dance cause I was a male bit sexist I’m gay I had a drink I needed to dance on that bar 😂 overall I won’t be returning.

All the staff were lovely but the management itself not letting men up on the bar when i was with a group of girls was if anything discriminatory!! Even the people at the bar were against these rules, in a modern age rules like this should not exist anymore. Disgusting and all my friends were so outraged we left the bar and will never come back until these stupid rules are ammended

Had a bbq maple bacon burger and curly fries. Food was Michelin star level and the service from Georgia and Faith was something I would expect from a 5-star Monaco hotel. The establishment has a great taste in music and the western theme is really authentic. Will be returning with the husband 👍👍. This place is the thing of dreams (even on a Monday).

If you want a stag do that’ll go down in history (or at least make for some wild stories), Coyote Ugly is your holy grail! We strutted in like we owned the place, only to be greeted by bartenders dancing on the bar —while we just tried to find our footing. The cocktails? Let’s just say they had more kick than our best man after a few too many! We downed some shots, and suddenly we were convinced we could all dance like Channing Tatum (spoiler: we couldn’t). If you want a night filled with laughter, questionable dance moves, and memories that may or may not come back to haunt you, Coyote Ugly is the place to be. Just remember, what happens at Coyote Ugly… probably ends up on social media! Some of us are still trying to find our dignity

I booked a dance class and bottomless brunch and was a little apprehensive, but this experience was way more than I ever could have imagined. Fortunately for us, it was just us at the dance class, and Faith was super! For three old, overweight girls she made this event so much fun. The venue was inclusive, the staff were brilliant, and they work HARD! The drag was really fun! I could not recommend this highly enough; Faith really made us feel like VIPs. The toilets were hotter than hell though, and the brunch only consisted of a small pizza.

Great atmosphere, very lively place. We went there twice in the same evening as it seems to have a great crowd. Certainly would recommend for large groups.

I went to Cardiff last night and popped into the bar lovely place friendly bar staff Butttttttt The girl on the bar dancing well what can I say Speaks on the mic saying these words What you lot doing in here on a Thursday night you must be alcoholics …. I myself and my husband was disgusted by this as we both have a Thursday off and enjoy spending it together this dancer may have said it as a joke but I find this shocking tbh As I stated to her if it wasn’t for customers there how would her wages get paid We left along with a good few others because of this comment and sadly I will not return there either I think staff need to be taught not to make comments like she did

Went in the late evening for the club, was a great experience. It’s like an old school nightclub, which was brilliant. You have the option of dancing on the bar if you’re brave enough, and you get a free shot! Lots of bars dotted about inside so you’re not queuing for ages for drinks. Most of the drinks are bottled (think Smirnoff, VK, Corona etc). Music was great and the staff dancing on the bar kept singing and getting the crowd going. Was a really great atmosphere and everyone was just having a great night dancing and enjoying the music.

Really bad experience, will not be coming back. Me and my friend had bottomless brunch booked for a celebration before heading to our concert. The bartender asked to see our ID's, and then showed them to her manager who then refused to serve us as they did not believe our ID's were real. The manager claimed that our ID's looked different to theirs, even though they were valid and we had no issues using them anywhere else. Due to this, we weren't able to do our bottomless brunch we had already paid for, and had to sort out other arrangements. I am very disappointed, as we were really looking forward to this for a while.

Amazing and I very best night club in Cardiff

First and last time visiting. Not only did we have to queue for ages, the 'bouncers' out the front were extremely rude and totally unprofessional. We then had to pay £5.00 each to enter, the place was grubby, service horrendously slow, atmosphere non existent and very poor drink range. Would not recommend at all.

Good atmosphere but the bar by the door essentially had two types of drink, and the queue in the main bar was long because the staff were so slow

Would give a 0 if I could! First we arrived to be told we can't go in as there was a fight so we understood and waited to then find them letting groups of girls in. I asked why they were letting the other people in and not us and I was told to back off! I had pre paid and booked 2 tables for my daughters 18th birthday. We eventually go in and find we only had one table and not all our drinks were there so naturally I questioned this to be told I hadn't booked a 2nd load of drinks. I showed my booking confirmations and then girl eventually brought the 2nd load of drinks. I complained to the manager and gave constructive criticism and she gave us a tray of sour shots as an apology. We bought another 2 bottles of prosecco on the table and some of us ladies went down to queue to dance on the bar whilst we were waiting security kicked our family and friends off the table and said they were closing the area. I booked the table for 10pm - 1am and was appalled that they would kick us off an hr before our time was up. I once again complained and had to argue my way to them giving us an alternative table downstairs, we were given 1 even though I booked 2 and we wouldn't all fit on one. I asked for a tray of sours to make up for it and well they had the cheek to bring shots that had been watered down, it was pretty obvious, I took the tray back and spent the next 45 minutes wasting my time with them denying it and eventually giving us a tray that hadn't been watered down! We had all looked forward to this evening for my daughters 18 and I am absolutely shocked by how poorly you treat people that have pre paid for a service disgusting treatment by the door staff and some of the water staff!! Never again and I will discourage anyone to attend your filthy dump! Your letting the Cayote ugly name down massively!!!!!

Lunch time bottomless brunch.Great time, made all the better by GEORGIE who was always there with the drinks, very chatty and happy. Drag act was really good got everybody up and involved. Dancing on the bar ( not me) .Drinks are a bit limited if you dont like cocktails, beer, cider or procecco. Pizza 3 choices margaritta, hawian or pepperoni, they were ok. But good time had.

Went for a friends birthday paid to go in as we all wanted to dance. And the poxy boxing was put on. If I wanted to watch boxing I’d have stayed at home. The girl at the desks attitude was come back later. No thanks. Very disappointed.

Went for my son in laws 40th birthday, bottomless brunch, choice of pizza is margarita, hawian, or pepperoni, they were ok, but that's the only choice of food. The drinks are quiet limited as well you can upgrade to cocktails but if you don't drink presecco, beer or cider that your only choice...BUT the service was FANTASTIC big shout out for GEORGIE, really lovely girl made sure the drinks kept flowing, a really asset to the place. Had so much fun. The drag act was hilarious, and worked so hard. Definatly recomend

A group of me and my friends visited Coyote last night, celebrating my friend’s birthday. We were in the upstairs area and we were served by a young lady called Faith and she was absolutely incredible. She had a great vibe and was so accommodating to me and my group, 10/10 service

My brother with learning difficulties came to this club, he has speech problems (can’t speak or pronounce words tidily) security threw him out of the club, after one drink. My brother then went to speak to the security after, and the security then said if he doesn’t leave right now he’s going to “smash his face in, and kill him” and this is the problems society has to stand this day and age. I’ve tried to contact the manger to get in contact and raise a formal complaint but they won’t accept the phone call. Avoid at all cost. If there was a bigger person than the security guard he wouldn’t have acted this way, my brothers 5”5 9 stone, if nothing gets done by this review I promise the police will be in contact for misconduct and if that doesn’t solve the issue, I will be going down myself to speak to this security guard, which guaranteed will do absolutely nothing when faced with a real issue/problem. These people have got to be taking of our street before something seriously bad happens.

A big group of us went to drag brunch yesterday. The drinks and food were flowing. The drag performance was great with loads to sing along and dance to. Special shout out to Georgia who not only sorted a better table for us, sorted all our drinks and food quickly but was very kind and helpful when one of our friends became unwell. Thank you!

Come in with my partner around 8ish loved it but got told too come back after 9.30,10 where its busy we came bk after 12 and the bouncers well I say no more saying u had a private function witch I know u didn't as we was in before they started,it felt like if ya face didn't fit u don't get in and I was really looking forward 2 it Haswell gutted but 1st time when we got in the girls where amazing, think u need 2 look ya bouncers as bad rep them

Unacceptable and rude bouncers. When approaching another bouncer on the door (to ask who would I contact to complain) , I was immediately given stinking stares and rude attitudes. Your door staff are giving you an awful reputation.

This bar has a fun gimmick and good service from eager staff which normally would be a fun night out, unfortunately I feel forced to write this review after a bad experience. I don't like to go out on town often but came here with some work friends for a celebration and had a good time. When we were leaving I heard one of the doormen make transphobic comments about my appearance to his friends and saw them smirking, which upset me for the rest of the night, I was too flustered to confront them, but they where 2 or 3 viking wannabe guys, though that describes most people doing that job. To be fair hink doormen are supplied by a 3rd party company so it's not like these guys will always be there, but saw on the internet that there'd been a pretty high profile incident here in the past, so maybe the bar doesn't vet the companies well? Though It's not like marginalised people I know are particularly trusting of them anyway. I do know LGBTQ friends who love this place so felt conflicted about writing this review, but I think I've got to help people keep safe.

i was in the bar last saturday for my friends birthday, it was our first time in cardiff so we didn’t know what to expect. we were very excited to visit as we had heard great things and had an incredible night apart from one experience i had at the bar. i waited 30 mins in the line with my friend for a drink and as i got up to the bar i asked politely for my drink of choice and the young girl looked at me and said no. me confused asked why and if there was possibly none of that specific drink left so i tried ordering something different. she said no again, i was very confused and she stared at me and in a very patronising tone said just the word water whilst making the letter W with her hands. i understand if they refuse service from people extremely drunk however i wasn’t anywhere near that level and it left me feeling very bad, confused and uncomfortable. i just think it was extremely unprofessional and should never have happened!!!

It's absolutely AWFUL. DO NOT GO IN for the afternoon drinks n food deal we have been here 40 mins no service at all what a joke rubbish by all means go in at normal times whatever

I preordered a table with 2 bottles of Prosecco and 2 pitchers of cocktails. Upon arrival, we were shown to a dirty table upstairs that other people were occupying. The lady said she would get rid of the other people, but didn’t even clean it. We were then handed two pitchers of cocktails - which was half our order and told to ask for the 2 bottles of Prosecco when we were ready. 2/3 of the way through drinking the cocktails, I asked the bar staff if I could have my Prosecco. The lady behind the bar (different to the one who originally took us to the table) said she would speak to someone. Half an hour later, we still hadn’t had the Prosecco, so then I asked again and I was told that we had already received our order… which I corrected her on and explained we hadn’t had the Prosecco yet. She said she would speak to someone. Another half an hour went by, the girl came to talk to the bar lady, but totally ignored me when I tried speaking to her, she eventually turned to me, I explained we hadn’t had the Prosecco yet and she said that we hadn’t finished our cocktails. I said that we had finished the cocktails and she argued that it doesn’t look like we had, I said “well we have and we want the Prosecco that I’ve paid for”. She then said she was taking the remaining cocktails away because we couldn’t have the Prosecco unless we had finished. This didn’t make any sense as it isn’t a bottomless brunch, it was pre paid alcohol and if I had gone to the bar there an then, I would have got the Prosecco. She then snatched away any last remaining drinks that people were still finishing off (and had been paid for), and disappeared. People were quite frustrated by this time, as we had been waiting for a long time and the way she removed our drinks was inappropriate and rude. At this point, I asked for the manager. In total we had been waiting for the prosecco for over an hour at this point. The manager came and she said she would “sort it out”. When I returned from the bathroom approx 10 minutes later, I was met with being taken outside by two huge security guards, which is ridiculous as I am a 5 ft 3 girl, all while Hannah - whom we had terrible service from, was hysterically laughing. Whilst in the corridor, they told me to hand over my phone to them, when I questioned this, they said that it was because I had taken a photo of a member of staff in a public place and they were calling the police because it was illegal. This was laughable and completely made up, not to mention that it isn’t even illegal to take a photo in a public place like dozens of ppl have done previously. I refused to hand over my phone (because it’s my personal property, they are strangers and by this point, their erratic behaviour and lack of providing my paid for bottles of Prosecco was concerning). I was then ejected without explanation of why we didn’t receive our bottles of Prosecco for over an hour. The service was absolutely diabolical, the girl was really lazy, obnoxious and rude. None of us were intoxicated or behaving badly. We had prepaid in good faith that we would receive the goods, service and in a timely manner. All in all, I would recommend that you don’t step foot in the place and certainly don’t pre pay for drinks. If you do have to go there, make sure you don’t bump into the girl in the photo, she isn’t great at her job.

Went for a quick bite to eat before watching the rugby . Ordered a pizza it was edible after I had taken all the burt pepperoni off. I did complain but was left with a manager with very bad attitude. No communication skills what so ever. If I hadn't been in a rush I would have sent it back. But I was very disappointed with the attitude of the manager.

Very lousy reception from the bouncers, to be avoided

The bar is good however the doormen/security agency they employ is atrocious. Unprofessional and unacceptable. Excess force, have witnessed them taking customers to the floor for absolutely no reason, escorting customers out for absolutely no reason other than from what I can see jealousy of male customers talking to female customers... Absolutely appalling. A new security agency is needed.
