Kalonji Fine Indian Restaurant in Fenland

We placed an order for collection, it wasn’t ready at the time we were given and we had to wait another 20-25 minutes while they got it ready. There were only 2 tables eating in the restaurant and two lots of other people also waiting to collect orders. While we waited for our order we had the pleasure of watching a guy, who didn’t look the most well presented, come backwards and forwards with various containers to place in a microwave in a room next to the kitchen. When we finally got our food and got it home it was very clear it had been frozen and microwaved by the amount of water swimming on the plate after we dishes the food up and the rice wasn’t very warm. We had heard good things about this restaurant but we definitely won’t be going back. The food tasted ok, but only ok, nothing special. Very disappointed.

The most delicious indian meal we have had in a very long time. All freshly cooked to order..amazing menu so much choice. The staff are so helpful with selecting our choices and recommended dishes to suit us. Absolutely delicious. We wont be going anywhere else now. I highly recommend this restaurant if you want an authentic Indian meal. Superb.

We ordered food to be delivered at 17.42pm today- at 19.30pm I called as we had not received our delivery of our food after nearly 2 hours. The call was chaotic and they asked me to replace the order- no way! I have asked for someone to call me back with an explanation as to why it has taken 2 hours and no food delivery. I want my money back immediately and asked them to cancel my order as it is now too late! This is an absolute disaster- don’t use them as this is the second time that they have have let us down! Appalling service as no apology and no accountability take for the poor service. Had to give a rating and gave the lowest score- would have scored 0 but had no choice!!!

Ordered at 5.30 and was told it would be delivered within an hour.An hour and 45 mins later we rang to be told it would arrive in the next 10 mins.It finally arrived 2 and a half hours later.For this terrible service we we offered 1 bottle of beer.After some negotiation they knocked £15 off our £60 bill.Food was average ,onion bahjis were soggy and the mushroom bajhee tasted bitter like the spices weren't cooked properly.Was very disappointed
