Had eaten here with friends in the summer - then again in December. What happened guys? Menu was so pared down. Very limited selection and only 2 really overpriced desserts - even by London standards. Overall, this is a very overpriced place for what's on offer. Arrived and it was quite quiet and lots of waiting staff hanging around. Ordered the burgers with chips. Underwhelmed. Also, really, I'm a vegan - why do I want to eat something that looks and has the texture of meat....wasn't expecting the burger to be so meaty (maybe I didn't read the menu properly), but also 'pink' inside...yuk! Are you catering for vegans or trying to get more non-vegans into your restaurant. Didn't even consider the limited desserts on offer at £8-10 each! Come on! Waitress was pleasant enough but over attentive to the point we felt that we were being hurried along and out......it's not like it was busy. Also, please, music is nice to have, but not so that it's difficult to converse. Overall, very disappointed. Will not be returning and will not advise others to go there for the vegan experience.

After a wonderful visit in the summer, we brought three friends (inc 2 omnivores) for an early evening meal. The food was fine, if expensive, but the desserts took so long to (not) arrive that we cancelled them. The waiter was awful - perhaps he'd worked a long shift but he was frankly smelly - and cleared the four empty plates before the fifth diner had finished eating by actually stretching across him, underneath his arm as he raised it to his mouth!! Unbelievable. We felt 100% justified demanding they cancelled the service that they'd added to the bill.

Great service. My daughter had a burger and I had the lamb wrap. Food came quickly and was delicious. Very filling.

Must be one of the best vegan restaurants I’ve been too, a great menu, nice atmosphere, friendly staff and scrumptious food.

As a group of friends we booked a table for five for lunch. We arrived as booked at 1pm and were shown to a table. The noise from the speakers was so loud we couldn’t hear each other speak (they said they couldn’t change the volume!) so we asked if we could be moved upstairs. We ordered our food, starters and mains, and then moved up. It was still loud upstairs but not as bad as downstairs. They had run out of most of the starters so we were limited on what we could order. We then waited, and waited, and waited. Our starters arrived well over an hour later. Our mains arrived an hour and a half after that, at just after 3.30pm. When it did arrive the food was just warm and not great. I understand they were busy but they weren’t overly busy and they know how many tables they have. The waiter tried to say we ordered starters and mains separately as the reason for the delay but that was incorrect as we ordered everything together shortly after arriving at 1pm. Very disappointing. We all really wished we had gone elsewhere. Needless to say we won’t be going back.

My friend and I went to the restaurant on early evening. At first we were given a friendly welcome by a member of staff. She was going to show us to a table and her colleague interjected and took over saying that those tables were for bookings only and walk ins are to be seated by the window. We asked if we could book a table and were refused,saying they are fully booked all evening, so we asked if we could wait for a table at the walk in section and again refused. The option of a take away was offered, but we declined as it was clear they didn't want us there. Straight after leaving we went on their website to see if we were able to book a table. Within 5 minutes a booking was confirmed. This left my friend feeling discriminated as he is Asian

My friend and I visited this restaurant on a Saturday evening. When we arrived the waiter asked if we would like to see the menu. We quickly glanced at the menu and decided we would like to dine here. There were many tables free to we picked a table and sat down only to be quickly shuffled to move by the waiter who informed us that all the tables were booked and he could not let us sit here. My friend then asked him why he offered us to look at the menu and he very rudely responded "well you didn't ask for a table, you only wanted to see the menu" with a very smug smile on his face. I understand if you are fully booked, but there were many tables free. Other guests came into the restaurant and were also turned away. In 2019 if you are turning away customers with empty tables you may want to rethink your business model. I would also make sure to inform your waiting staff that they do not know the background of the customers who dine at restaurants. We may have only been two customers however, you do not know our social media following - bad service spreads quickly.

I have gone past the restaurant a few times and I decided to have a takeaway due to time pressure. I asked if there was discount for takeaway and was told I would not be charged a service charge!! In for a penny I ordered the rainbow bowl and whilst I waited it occurred to me that a service charge is voluntary and when I brought this up with the staff there was no one who could offer an explanation or take responsibility. The only response I got was the manager was on her way but on a bus so I could not pursue this query. As for the food, it was well prepared and tasty but questionable that it was value for money at £10.50. It's a shame because the website is excellent and other reviews are generally positive. Will I go back? Jury is out because there is plenty of competition that are providing better value for money.

I was a little sceptical of this place, given some mixed reviews. Was greatly surprised - both style and substance. The decor is quirky and fun, and the service great. Onto the most important element - the food - and of course, the pancakes, and they were excellent. Banana and buckwheat, topped with coconut yoghurt and almond brittle. Also, a great flat white. Highly recommend!

I came here by myself and since it was so nice outside asked if I could sit at the 4 person table outside and was surprised when she said yes. Sitting inside is too hot because you face the kitchen and you can't feel the a/c since the front door is open. This was the only place in London where I got free tap water without asking, in pretty pink glasses. I had the nicest waitress! They have free wifi. I was so excited to try the fish and chips and it delivered! Only the tarter sauce was missing a tang to it. The food was very filling and the fresh green juice delicious. Please add a hook to the back of the bathroom door so women can hang their purse.

We stumbled upon Kalifornia Kitchen, and fell in love with the colour and then the menu then the food! Our adult long term vegan London-based son confirmed it was the best burger he had ever had, and that is saying something! We were treated beautifully, the staff are friendly and professional and enjoyed a chat. The food was fresh, perfectly sized and presented with flair. Good luck Kalifornia Kitchen

I absolutely loved the food here and the interior was lovely. We had the breakfast burrito and kale chips which were delicious and their kalifornia guacamole burger which was INCREDIBLE! The best vegan burger I have ever tasted. It came with chips as well which were nice. I would recommend going here and I can’t wait to go back! I will definitely be a regular here!!

I have visited Kalifornia Kitchen a few times now, mainly because I am addicted to the pancakes which are absolutely amazing. The place has a lovely atmosphere, burgers are great and yummy cocktails. My only criticism is that one of the waiters made me and my friends really uncomfortable. He seems to be on drugs and hovers around the table just that bit too long. Otherwise always a good experience.
