Beautiful artisan dessert shop, loads of unusual varieties of cakes, cookies & brownies including the famous Matilda Bruce cake. You definitely feel like a kid in a candy shop when you’re in there

The best milk cake I have had for a long time! Service was excellent and the shop itself has a nice vibe. Will be visiting again the next time I am in Leicester.

Went here today (24/10/24 @ approx 4pm) with my family 4 children and my husband and I. The place was quiet, went to the counter and asked staff about the selection of cakes, cookies, brownies etc they had available and what they would recommend. (Alot of reviews/comments said the staff didn't really advise on what's what etc..... just ask, seriously the staff are so helpful and customer service is on point, I work in customer service) Damanpreet was AMAZING, Service with a smile and passion. She really helped us and advised what was the 'best sellers' were. In total we ordered 4 slices of cake and a cookie and X2 small Americano's - 1) Cookie dough cake slice 2) Malteasers 3) S'mores 4) Ultimate Bruce Cake 5) Kanafe Pistachio Cookie. Really wonderful time and delicious cakes. We couldn't finish them all so we had them packed. We caught the manager as we were leaving, wonderful person and fantastic working ethic, definitely takes pride in her products and her staff. Thanks for being awesome guys. The Terry's chocolate orange cake was delicious, so airy, moist, not fudgey which I wanted and has little chocolate bits in it. Service was quick, staff knew what they were doing, reasonable pricing. Can't wait to try every cake 🤤

Very good cakes and treats. Staff is really cool. However, it would be really nice if there was a daily menu for each store on social media or maybe a chalkboard at each store so everyone knows what all the specials and limited edition items are, and what exactly is available. Thank you.

This was my first time going into Kake Temptations so I was asking a lot of questions about the menu items. Tanaz was one of the loveliest people ever, she was so kind and patient. Her recommendation of the cinnamon cake was amazing, it’s genuinely one of the nicest cakes I’ve ever had. I’m glad we trusted her recommendation.

Tanaz was so helpful and friendly! I was having trouble deciding which cookies to get, but even though it was close to closing time, she didn’t rush me at all. She patiently guided me through the options and made great recommendations. Her kindness and professionalism really stood out, and it made my experience so much better. I’ll definitely be coming back, thanks to her excellent service! Damam too was quite cheerful and friendly.

It was my first time at Kake temptations and I was really looking forward to it as I’ve been following their Instagram page for some time now. I must say I was disappointed. The customer service was horrible, super cold and felt like the transaction was waiting to be made. I mentioned it was my first time in a super exciting tone but nothing was explained about what cakes were their most popular or what they recommend. When I asked about the deal of buy one get one free, they pointed to a bunch of slices, prepackaged and when asked how old they were, they were bothered by this question and corrected me to mentioned they were bakes the night before and it was too Many cakes bakes so they had to sell the slices. Overall, I expected much more. The ambiance wasn’t as exciting and cozy as I thought it would be and the overall experience was cold and transaction like. Also, the chocolate syrup was completely drenched in the cake and I was instructed to heat it at home, which I mentioned I don’t own a microwave. I would have preferred having the chocolate syrup in a separate container and I spread it on my own at home as I came home to a completely drenched soggy cake! My husband and I couldn’t even eat it anymore by the time we came home. Almost 9 pounds down the drain and a poor experience indeed. Definitely don’t what you see on social media!

The ghetto of all bakeries. They will never accept criticism. Always on a high horse to prove customers wrong. Customer service is lacking immensely.

Incorrect pricing on menu One member of staff. 2 cookies and 2 coffees £20! Order came to the table sporadically. Fix up guys!

Very good selection of cakes if recommend getting anything in a takeout box or to share because the portions are generous. Worth it for a treat.

I went to try the Bruce Slice, omg Omg OMG!!! That thing is huggggeeeee! Other cakes available too and decently priced. A variety of drinks on the menu, but they didn't have alot of it in stock which wasn't good. Service was poor, cakes arrived randomly, with a good 7 minute gap between the first and the last, no cutlery. Drinks also arrive with no milk, no sugar and then no spoon. I would blame the rush, but we were the only ones there. The staff are extremely friendly and polite tho, so with a little bit of training and focus, they'll be absolutely fine. Defo hasn't put me off going again.

The standard has dropped drastically, Bruce cake initially had chocolate chips and chocolate layer which now doesn’t even have those. It just tasted stale. I ordered it a 2nd time as probably it was a bad batch but it became worse the 2nd time. I’ve been ordering from them a year before it suddenly became bad. Hopefully they improve their cake standards.

Very helpful and attentive lady behind the counter gave me some amazing recommendations (while I was facetiming my mum from London). The pistachio / kunafeh Bruce cake hybrid was absolutely divine!

Really nice lady behind the counter, very friendly and helped us to choose our cakes. We just fancied something sweet and we got 2 slices of cake on offer, biscoff/Nutella flavour and carrot cake. They gave us a box of broken cookies for no charge which always makes things taste a little sweeter 😊

I had ordered a Victoria Sponge cake and they gave me a cranberry cake which tastes stale. I tried calling multiple times and even sent messages to inform them of this, but no response. Won’t be ordering from here again! Very bad customer service and bad quality of food

Paid a visit to Kake Temptations after seeing the "Bruce Kake" on Instagram. It was very nice, if a little pricey.

I visited the cafe on London Road this week and indulged in my favorite treat: the famous San Sebastian cheesecake with Belgian chocolate sauce, paired with a refreshing iced coffee. The service was fantastic! Fawzia was considerate and friendly, as always. In the past, she recommended the raspberry and lemon cake based on my preferences, and it was spot on – absolutely delicious! Thank you for the exceptional service. I can't wait for my next visit!

I attended the store earlier today, i was served by Fozia the duty store manager. I placed an order and realised when i got home 1 item was missing. I called the store and whilst speaking to Fozia she put the phone down. This is not good customer service. Whilst speaking to a customer its rude to put the phone down. Im very disappointed in the customer service i recieved today.

Been coming here for years. Came the other day. Shop was empty. Girl on till had limited knowledge of prices or anything really. Her approach seemed unbothered and unphased. Maybe she was new who knows? Baring in mind my friend and i were in gym clothes and had asked to split a cake in half (less kcals etc as portions are large). Manager/ owner abruptly and came from nowhere and said “no you cant cut the cake sorry we dont offer that service” ???? Clearly she was expecting us to buy another cake but tbh it put us off. The bruce cake has been a regular for us from kake temptations especially as my friend comes from out of town and every time shes in leicester its a go to. But the service from the lady just dampens the vibe. Some days shes super chatty and friendly but most days shes blunt rude and just not very nice. Bruce cakes are so mainstream these days that kake temptations isnt offering anything “special” esp. when the service is below standards. I’d rather buy medicore bruce from elsewhere atleast I’ll experience better service. Avoid unless you want bipolar interactions with the owner/ manager.

Decent cakes. Quite pricey, seating not great, dark inside and, felt the service was poor in my opinion. Won’t be back.

So went for a quick dessert and the lady forgot to charge for the cake. There was also a long wait of about 20 mins and then she came to get payment 🙄. This is my second time there and the place was actually dirty and had cleaning rubbish near the entrance so not impressed today unfortunately but 3 stars as the bruce cake was yummy

Well overdue review.. but wanted to thank the staff who still served me when my phone battery had died and my only way of paying was Apple Pay! Was also with my family and the staff were more than happy to just ensure this wasn’t a concern and I enjoyed my time with family. The Ferraro layer cake was amazing and the Kake Shakes were also delicious! Huge thanks for the fantastic customer service, tasty cake and shake and for your understanding! We managed to find a charger in the end too and all sorted 🙌🏽 will definitely be coming back for more delicious desserts and drinks.

Went in to get the famous Bruce’s chocolate cake but they were out of them. Fouzia behind the counter recommended that i try the S’Mores Cake. It was so worth it!!! Now i have two favourites at Kake Temptation! Must try whoever is craving a good chocolate cake slice!

I’ve been a regular customer since they’ve opened in Leicester. I’ve really enjoyed it over the years. Especially the peanut butter stack and the Bruce Cake. However, my recent visit to the Cafe in London Road has made me realise the prices have risen by a lot and the portions have gone smaller by so much. Before the peanut butter stack used to be a monster. Now it’s like something from Alice in wonderland. I understand inflation and the cost of living, gas and electrics have risen. So I understand the rise in prices. How can you justify price increases as well as making everything smaller than half the size it originally is? It’s a shame it has come to this. Standards have dropped massively. I only used to eat the cakes from here as I enjoyed them the most. The past few experience has proven all of the above. This review is not over 1 visit. It’s over multiple visits to see if the bad experience was a one off. I hope you can somehow revive your business. It’s a shame on what has become of it.

Absolutely loved the desserts! The san Sebastian cheesecake was divine and just like the one in istanbul, the Bruce cake was literally the best cake I've ever had, highly recommend a visit, I'll definitely be coming back and trying the rest of the menu. Also quick shout out to the customer service it was 10/10!

Finally got to visit after wanting to for ages. Total disappointment! No atmosphere. No menus. Nothing labeled up so no idea on flavour or prices or allergens We wanted to have some lunch followed by a cake and coffee but nothing was advertised. The lady wasn't helpful at all and we felt unwelcome to the point of us just grabbing some cookies to go. The cookies and brownie were a let down. I bake a lot so I did have high expectations. The brownies taste like they were made with a brownie mix. Greasy not buttery like you'd expect. The cookies were barely cooked and whilst they look nice they really are just oversized lumps of cookie batter with a bit of tasteless filling lumped inside. At £12 for 4 I would not bother again. Really disappointed and definitely wouldn't return. They lost out on a £40+ order from us so ..... 🤷

Cookies alright, cakes are great. Don't get tempted by your eyes as it can get real sickly after even one mouthful of either. Service was slow given off the counter stuff was ordered - waited ~10 minutes.

The food came in good time and was of good quality.We enjoyed the cakes. Unfortunately the scoop of ice cream which we ordered for £2.35 wasnt even half a scoop.

Impeccable customer service and surreal food, the dynamite fries hit the spot and the beef toastie is out of this world, the pistachio hot chocolate is perfectly sweet, definitely a go to place for me, incredible!

The most INCREDIBLE cake cafe. I could not recommend this place more!!

Rainbow cake is nice, but they charge 9 pounds for a drink and fill it with 75% ice. Wife and I took 3 sips total and it was gone, which was disappointing because the drink was delicious. Next time we may specify no ice, just to get our moneys worth. Besides that, great place.

I always have an amazing experience here and they do amazing San Sebastián cakes and other desserts too. Zay is amazing she always makes my trip amazing. Will be visiting again soon.

We went for dessert and tea and had the San Sebastian cheesecake. It was yummy but I would have liked the chocolate sauce to be warmer.

They have delicious cakes and sweet. I have been there many times. I recommend that they add some trendy sweet like honey cake or saffron cake. Also, coffee needs some improvements. Overall, it worth visiting and trying

Lovely owner and staff. Owner is always smiling and gives the best service. The cheesecakes here are absolutely to die for. I come here every time over heavenly desserts or any other dessert shop around the area. Portion sizes are also great and worth it for the price. Atmosphere is nice and cosy and relaxing.

Amazing desserts and amazing staff

First time I went to this cafe even though it's been around for some time. There's a few cafes on London road and I've been meaning to try this place for some time... I wasn't disappointed! The interior decor is really nice and makes for a lovely ambient feel. They have a great selection of hot drinks and whole plethora of baked cakes and pastries and other desserts on offer. The cakes in the cafe are all baked fresh in-house. They also do savory did items like pastries and sandwiches. On my visit I got a cappuccino as well as a slice of the red velvet cake and an original milk cake. The red velvet cake slice was humongous! Ended up taking that home and instead had the gorgeous milk cake which I highly recommend. The coffee was great! Seating was a mix of comfy low chairs and the more traditional regular chairs. The other thing to mention is the server was really friendly and nailed the customer focus aspect. So kudos to Kake temptations for hiring a lovely person that added to the whole experience. I believe the experience starts with the people you interact with. I'll definitely be back again! Update of review, note the contrasting review: I visited Kake Temptations with my family yesterday and had a disappointing experience. The lack of a physical menu forced me to use a QR code, but with no phone signal inside, I had to step out for a menu. Suggesting a laminated menu at the counter could improve this issue. Moreover, despite ordering a toastie, it was forgotten, and they started preparing it only when we were ready to leave. The customer service was subpar, and I had to settle for takeaway. Although the food was good, the overall experience leaves me hesitant to return. If I could give a negative score for customer experience I would

I’d heard a lot about the place so decided to visit. The staff were very friendly, service was excellent and the range of cakes was exceptional. Wasn’t a fan of the ambience however. Quite glum and could be cleaned better. Waiting staff wore unclean shirts with food and icing stuck on them, to the point it was unappealing, as I’ve never seen that in a professional setting before. If they’re working in the kitchen and serving, maybe they can wear aprons, to take off when serving guests. Also very expensive. Their cakes were generously portioned and tasted good but besides the range, nothing special imo. Would be happy to try some of their other products someday.

Oh my goodness! The cake here is huge!! It’s so rich and full of flavors to the point that I almost feel guilty of eating it. No blame on the cake though! The amount of sugar is just through the roof. It’s ok to come here once on a while (once a month for me, seriously can’t be more often than that) and ideally with friends to share the sweet treats with. To sum up, everything is so good about this place, but unfortunately not so good for your health😅 So, enjoy in moderation! P.S. The first time I came here, a credit card machine was broken so I couldn’t buy anything. The lady at the counter was so kind to give me a little box of cake as an apology for the inconvenience. That was super sweet.

The ladies were so friendly and welcoming and nothing was too much trouble.

Cutlery was not washed properly - there were 2 spoons stuck together with red velvet cake inside from a previous customer and we were not given an apology despite the lack of hygiene from their behalf . The manager I presume was extremely rude and I decided to visit one last time 2 weeks after this incident and was preceded with a rude glare from the same manager . When asked if there was a problem she simply turned away . Appalling and disgusting service . The place itself is gorgeous - yet some staff seem to be exempt from showing manners to customers.

We were out on London Road for lunch and after a heavy meal, we were just after a small sweet thing. We came across Kake Temptations and it was so nice. It was a super super hot day so it was lovely to have that cold AC hit you as soon as you walk in the door. I felt overwhelmed by the choices but the lady at the counter was very kind and helpful and talked us through based on our preferences. We shared a San Sebastian cheesecake between us, to eat in and then also bought a Funfetti slice, Caramel Latte slice and Cookie Pizza slice to take away with us. The service was quick and the lady even came around a few minutes later to double check we had got everything we ordered. All the desserts were amazing and were big portions; each one serving 2-3 people. Sorry about the photos, I always forget to take them until after half the food is gone! A few weeks later we went back again with the kids as my daughter had been obsessed with trying the new lava Bruce cake (see video) the lava was thick and stodgy, not as flowy as we had expected. However it was super delicious but very sickly sweet. We could not even finish the one slice between the 4 of us!

The service was abysmal. We ordered four lattes and waited an astonishing 25 minutes. Since we were running short on time, I asked about changing our order to take-out. Shockingly, the lady (Looked like she was in charge)behind the counter threw a tantrum, spilling coffee on the service desk and my shoes. Instead of apologising, she blamed us, accusing us of causing her extra work. Waiting 25 minutes for four lattes is bewildering. The disappointment continued—the lattes were unsatisfactory in taste. Frankly, I'd prefer boiled water over the Lattes.

We went here with our two young children on a rainy day after hearing great things, they certainly did not dissapoint. Amazing food and even better customer service, distracting our toddler who was upset with some free cookies! Loaded fries were full of flavour and the french toast is the best I have ever had. If this was local, we would be here every weekend 🙂

Tried the mango frappé on a hot day! It's was very nice! The place is also cosy and a great place to have a meeting. Parking is an issue in this area though.

Brilliant little place, loved the 4-5 things we tried from here, especially the lotus milk cake. Super friendly staff, clean toilets and nice decor.

Bought a load of treats (various brownies, pistachio cookies and cakes). All delicious! But.... 3 stars off for have a long hair inside one of the brownies. Kids were unimpressed and then didn't eat the remaining brownies.

OMG OMG OMG THE BEST COOKIES EVER!!!! Their dessert choices are overwhelmingly vast ! From cookies to cakes …to cinnamon rolls and donuts on weekends the list is endless … I highly recommend trying the red velvet cookie if you’re a fan of red velvet . The staff are also so lovely and kind , especially the ladies Zay and Fawz

Nice place. Friendly and welcoming staff. We bought two slices of cake (red velvet and chocolate) but we couldn't eat them because they were too sugary that we were able to feel the sugar particles inside. The cakes look really great but we didn't feel the same when we tasted them.

Had an excellent experience. All staff were so lovely and genuine. Felt very welcomed. The food was just as excellent!!!!! Will definitely return. Did not disappoint.

Have been to Kake Temptations several times. A large variety of cakes to choose from. The cake flavours vary and are made fresh in-house daily. The cake was fluffy and moist, and the slices were very generous and definitely worth the price. Specifically, I came to Leicester to visit this cafe initially. The staff ate polite and the customer service is excellent. The cakes did not disappoint. Would recommend if you like cake and have a sweet tooth. We need a branch in Birmingham!

Large variety of cakes but portion sizes huge, would be good to have an option of smaller slices or a platter when you can try slithers of a few cakes. Drinks okay, good range but not served particularly hot.

Nice food and lovely de caf coffee. Staff friendly but 3 of them chatting away loudly when not serving customers. The drinks area is in view and very messy which is off putting and should either be tidier or not in view. Service a bit slap dash as coffee was spilled when being served but not acknowledged and random mis match cutlery given. A little more attention to detail would make the place better. Cinnamon French toast was delich and worth the money. Overall good value for money.

Amazing cake, one of the nicest if not the nicest I've had, really friendly and helpful, made us feel welcome, nice inside, comfortable. Nadia was especially nice to talk to.

Amazing quality of food. Their White Chocolate Cake Shake one of the best Milkshakes I've had or THE best. Their Loaded Fries with Beef tasted on point too. Really nice comfortable seating.

Visited this place in January 2023. Went 50 minutes before closing time and they offered our desserts in plastic take out trays and the drinks in paper cups. This is the main reason for the 2 star rating. They did take the desserts back and put them in proper plates but I could hear the staff grumble about this. Ordered the snickers cake and the raspberry cake as well as latte, Americano and early grey tea. Desserts were ok but the take out trays and paper cups left us feeling disappointed. They do not do karak chai or desi tea as well. Service was ok.

I tried to visit this place twice without result🙈 First time they surprised me with closed door on Monday. Ok. Today I kissed their door, cause I tried to visit them at 11.20am. Opening hours from midday? Are you seriously??? Very disappointed😞

Coffee was cold. Cakes we not fresh even though the owner said they were fresh. Cutlery was not clean It was sticky with finger prinon them. Again owner said it was water marks. So me personally i didn't a good experience. And would not be going back there. On the upside the owner was kind and tryed to be helpful.

The girl that's runs the place is very friendly and recommended the pulled beef toasted Sandwich, cup of coffee and a biscuit for 6 quid. The beef sandwich was delicious. They do catering and make their own big cakes, highly recommend a visit...

This place is lovely to sit in, staff are all very friendly and the food and desserts are delicious. I'd recommend the Bruce cake or Victoria sponge.

Enjoyed my sandwich but I went on a mum and baby date with a friends and her baby only to find that the cafe is not baby friendly and there were no high chairs. Little suggestion - please label your cakes so people don’t have to wait ages for staff members to rattle off 15 different cake options

One of my favourite dessert places in Leicester. I remember how this company developed from small to big and the quality of the cakes/desserts have always been tasty and good quality. I love what they have done here because I can come with my family late at night and sit and enjoy a nice slice of cake with a lovely hot drink! I would recommend red velvet and the milk cakes are to die for 😋 The staff are very friendly and this place is suitable for children too . Bonus is there is a toilet here It’s one place you should try and you will be surprised at how much they have to offer, try kake temptations you won’t be disappointed 😊

A good local place situated around other restaurants and close to the town centre. The cakes and brownies were good. Stacks are great too. Good seating and friendly staff
