Been there once. The atmosphere was nice and the food was delicious.

The reason why I can't give a five stars to this place, is because you cannot get paid by card

Dishes are unrealistically large portions, I like to eat, I ordered 2 zeppelins and ate just one 😀 my eyes are hungry and I have to take it home 🤤🤤 we order fried bread, the sourness melts in the mouth.. and this is definitely not an exaggeration. As compliments to the chef too. ♥️ The waitress serving us - the bartender Giedre not only brings food, but also brightens the day with her radiant good mood and excellent performance of her work! 100/10 I couldn't rate it any other way! A place that brings addiction to food.

As always, the food does not disappoint. As soon as I load up on Lithuanian dishes, the first idea that pops into my head is to go to the Village. But no, not at grandma's but at my favorite restaurant! Whose food is not worse than grandma's!! ☺️☺️☺️ The dish is as varied as the recipe in the book ❤️ The service staff takes you to Gordon Ramsey! Giedre is next level! Wonderful, professional waitress! Definitely coming soon again! ❤️❤️

The food in there is always amazing a bit pricy but what can you expect these days. Can pay only cash which is sometimes a bit inconvenient, a bit tricky to park sometimes also as pretty busy there specially weekends. Overall its an amazing place to have lunch

Looks like understanding about dealing with customers = zero. Asking online for meniu, as no website at all. Answer. Go and find on FB. We are fully booked this year and maybe next year(funny), and it is your choice, where you want to go restaurant doesn't care. Actually I am looking for a place to celebrate birthday. To lose a customer, the same like p...s on 2 fingers. But find new... much longer way. I think inside restaurant dealing the same way, like online.

Very pleasant and good environment. Being there you will feel like in a village restaurant. Very good and pleasant service. Large portions and affordable prices. We visit often with the family and have never been disappointed, the children always like the children's selection of art. Cool guys, keep it up 💪👍

Sought this place out after visiting Peterborough. Went for a quick meal and a couple of beers. It has been so long since I had the pleasure of having anything Lithuanian and I must say they did not disappoint. Food was amazing but I forgot how big the cepelinai were so I took the rest home. I do recommend this place if you're up for something different but it's CASH ONLY.

This restaurant is fantastic. The rustic, honey interior is reminiscent of a small cottage kitchen. The food and staff are just as welcoming and wonderful. The beer is nice as well. We shared the fried bread with cheese, which is such a lovely, delicious dish and quite filling. We only tasted our entrees and had to take the remainder home. This was a bonus because these made for tasty leftovers for lunch the next day. The restaurant can accommodate larger groups but is also quaint and a nice place for a couple. Kaimas is kid-friendly as well and has an adorable play area in the downstairs of the restaurant. We can't wait to go back. If in Peterborough, this is a great place to eat or have a beer.

The husband didn't like the potato pancakes at all, he said they were not tasty. The daughter didn't like the zeppelins either. I really liked the saltibarsci and the steak.

Great food with large portions, great service and decent prices, although waiting times can get long, depending on the dish, which is understandable.

Absolute disappointment, reserved a table today for Christmas dinner with family, just to be told we have to leave (we came all the way from Leicester)….. called beforehand to make sure we can come and been told yes we are booked, now we wasted our time for Christmas all thanks to this place, very unorganised……

Wait a long time for food, the food is terrible for yourself, they only accept cash, the contingent is poor.

It really reminded me of my native Lithuania 🇱🇹 I recommend visiting, the only thing missing was a smile on the face of the bartender ☺️ But it appeared when saying goodbye, it gives a better vibe and atmosphere, I hope you don't lose it 🙌🏼

Food is not so good how 2 years ago. Not recomended.

Everything was great and delicious 😋. ONE THING WAS VERY DISAPPOINTED. MAKE SURE YOU CHECK YOUR RECEIPT BEFORE PAYING. THEY CHARGED ME £16 EXTRA. LUCKY I HAD LITHUANIAN LADY WITH ME AND WENT GOT MONEY BACK. OTHERWISE EVERYTHING WAS VERY GOOD.

I recently dined at [Kaimas] with high hopes, but the entire experience was a major letdown from start to finish. To start, we ordered a beer and some fried bread to enjoy while waiting for our main course. Shockingly, the bread didn’t arrive until after we’d already finished our beer. After waiting a full hour for our main course, the waitress came over to inform us that they’d run out of one of the dishes we ordered. She suggested an alternative, but when the food finally arrived, it was awful—and greasy poorly cooked, and not at all worth the wait. One of the chairs was broken, which made the seating uncomfortable. The staff were not only inattentive but also rude, responding to our questions with a dismissive attitude. One last tip: make sure to bring cash because they don’t accept card payments. Wonder why lol Overall, the bad service, poor food quality, and lack of basic amenities left a bad taste. Not sure if we will be coming back.

I went here twice - food is exceptionally delicious and authentic. Prices are excellent and the staff are very friendly and accomdating. I really recommend this to everyone.

Mediocre service, they forgot our appetizers and brought an incorrect main... Waiting time with pretty much an empty restaurant was way too long so I had to have food I didn't order as I could not wait another hour for them to fix the mistake. Awful disco music completely does not fit the restaurant interior. Also no card payment which should be mentioned while taking the order. Big portions and tasty food in general.

We had a wedding lunch at Kaimas and I was glad that I chose this restaurant. It sits 46 people on the first floor. The food is good as always and the portions were massive, so some people took take away boxes for later. We booked food in advance so we had to wait for 30 minutes to be served, which isn't bad considering its for 46 people. I highly recommend Kaimas. Great food. Great service. Worth every penny.

Después de nuestra reciente visita a Lituania, estábamos ansiosos por probar Kaima's Lithuanian Restaurant. Mientras que el extenso menú es impresionante, ofreciendo todo, desde pizza y tortitas de patata a varios platos de pescado, cerdo, carne de res y pollo, así como aperitivos interesantes como guisantes con tocino ahumado a la parrilla, lengua de res, etc. Las selecciones de ensaladas incluyeron, pero no se limitaron a ensalada de jamón / ensalada de verano / ensalada de codorniz y ensalada de Zalgiris. Creo que podría ser un reto para un restaurante sobresalir en tantas áreas. Encontré que la comida que pedí era algo falto de sabor. Específicamente, los platos necesitaban más eneldo y condimento fresco. La ensalada de acompañamiento y la sopa fría de remolacha, que eran decepcionantes, podrían haber contenido remolacha enlatada, y los pepinos en la sopa parecían viejos, afectando la calidad general. Como nota positiva, el repollo relleno y las albóndigas de patata lituana con carne estaban bastante bien, aunque podrían beneficiarse de un condimento adicional. Las grandes porciones son una ventaja, y aunque el servicio era lento, era eficiente. En general, Kaima's ofrece una amplia gama de opciones, pero podría valer la pena centrarse en un menú más simplificado para mejorar la calidad de cada plato. No nos informaron de que son en efectivo solo hasta después de que pedimos, que habría sido útil haber sabido antes de recibir un menú en caso de que uno no tenía libras en ellos.

Very nice authentic Lithuanian meals. Great friendly & polite staff. Located within a nicely decorated (again authentic) Lithuanian design. This is in a quiet part of town with available parking nearby. Also note, this place is kid friendly, family friendly.

Food was not the best and waitresses were rude and pathetically arrogant.

Cepelins are not cooked (grated), the size does not mean quality. Why make them this size if you don't boil them and you have to leave the grated pieces on the plate?! The fried bread is drowned in sury, which has no sury taste at all, more like sour cream, and we also left almost the whole plate because it didn't taste good! You can put the cheese in a separate container and not drown the fried bread in it. The interior is beautiful, the guy serving us was polite and helpful, but in the courtyard, some inappropriate persons were asking people for money or food, and no one from the staff tried to ask them or even responded to it, until the people themselves wrote to write them off. I don't recommend it.

Brilliant food selection at this tiny out of the way location. Came for lunch and was particularly impressed by the Grandmother's Pasta, which I recommend. Good food, great prices: what is there not to love?

When we came we had to wait a longer while to be seated, my husband went to get a waiter, otherwise we would stand there forever. A blonde lady serviced our table, she was quite nice that’s why I gave two stars. In other case would be one or ether zero. We placed an order and got drinks quite quick, but were waiting for food nearly 1,5 hour! I wanted to leave, honestly. Its ridiculous as we ordered simple margarita pizza, and two mains (chicken and potatoes). I ordered a puree but got roasted potatoes. My first thought was ok, I won’t be complaining because it’s gonna take additional time. But potatoes tasted very bad, like burned, old oil. The waiter asked if all good with food- then I mentioned about mistake in order and got puree quite quick. But this was nothing like puree- potatoes blended with water (imagine consistency) without any salt, completely tasteless. I left leaving full plates, consumed only veggies from the salad. Apart from that pizza was “okay”, grandmother schnitzel as well. My husband told waiter about food but they did not even consider to compensate. Regretting now that didnt took any pictures! Waste of money and time- AVOID!

We have been waiting for our pancake for a long time.

Have been here a couple of times, food had been great most times.The service however is shocking, waiting time on food is over an hour, have visited on weekdays also has been around the same time. Drinks came fast. The waitress either forgot to take a note of our starter order or just forgot to bring it out. No communication with waitress and the table, that the food is taking longer than expected. The restaurant was busy, but not packed. Very dissatisfied as we waited for the food for around 1:15 mins and had the food is around 15 mins and left. Wasn’t asked once if the food is okay, otherwise would’ve mentioned something. Sitting upstairs in the heat is dreadful, if you can be seated downstairs as it’s much better air flow.

At least one hour wait for food.

Pretty much every dish is swimming in the oil. Not the same how it was. Salad for 14£, same pork dishes are 14£.. Waiter was polite tho.

The food was excellent. I highly recommend the chicken with shrimp in sauce - it was delicious. The service was pleasant, and there was plenty of free space despite it being a Bank Holiday. There was a minor misunderstanding with our order; the waiter, attempting to be accommodating, served us in Polish, which may have led to the mix-up. However, full credit to the restaurant, we were not charged for the dish that was not in line with our order. We will 100% go back there again and again. The only minus is payment - only in cash, but there is a cashmachine right next door so....

I always visit this restaurant when I come to Peterborough. Because I know that I will always leave full and satisfied. The food here is very tasty and the portions are not small. The waiters are very nice. I will definitely go there again.

I wanted to buy a main meal and a pancake dessert, but waitress warned me that portions are big and I am glad I trusted her because dessert would have gone to waste. I will come again to try another dishes.

**CASH ONLY** We went for dinner, the dumplings are massive! I’d recommend going for the half portion as then you will get one very large dumpling, which is very filling. Whilst we were there, there was a singer who was great! Lots of dancing and the atmosphere was wonderful. Would definitely come again.

My wife is Lithuanian and me I like the cuisine but after we booked a table a week early the restaurant didn't have many dishes we requested. The place do not have car parking and the restaurant accept only cash to pay, no friendly no courtesy no confort and not all food you wish ( we are a family of 6 people) . No anymore

Food was not to bad. Cepelinai was perfect and very nice. But burger was dry bread was burned, chicken saslikas was dry and burned. We ordered karka 2 portions after 30 minutes coming and saying that have just one portion remaining. When I called to them to book appointment for us I asked or I can order cepelinai take away they say that I can't preorder early, but today when I asked 5 cepelinai to get take away they didn't had. So experience didn't was very nice. We don't come back in this place.

The best Lithuanian food restaurant in the UK. From one serving, the whole family can eat. One of the best places to try Lithuanian dishes and more. Enormous portions, taste amazing, great atmosphere to. Couldn't recommend this place to everyone even more...

Plate is big enough but quality is not as expected. I chose Beef Stroganoff as all grill meats were not available on the day. The stroganoff more was with white meat which is not enjoyable for me. The betroot salad taste was so boring. Atmopshere was nice!

Oue Lithuanian friend told us about this place and we went to give that a go. The food is amazing! It is a heavy as most of the option are fried and with lots of sour cream etc but it was just amazing! Tasty, very well cooked and the meat was nice and juicy. It is also one of the very few places that adds proper amount of dressing in the salad. Not too much not too less. Just the perfect ratio. I can't recommend this place enough and we are definitely going back again and again as it worths every single penny we paid. Well done!

We always come to kaimas as the food is really good and service is usually ok. The front of staff on 21/12 around 13:00 she was rude from the moment we entered blaming it on the massive table that they was preparing for. Genuinely unwelcoming and snapping her fingers for us to get up and get the menu from her. Even more so when she came to take our order. Completely arrogant and rude. I’ve never experienced terrible service like this before. We immediately left before she could continue to take our order. Shame as this used to be our favourite restaurant!

The location is rough but the food and service is completely worth it. We had fantastic meals here today. We came with friends from Germany and our kids and we all were overblown by the incredible service. The portions are enormous and very cheap. The quality was amazing and it tasted fantastic. Would definitely go again.
