Kaibaibo in Liverpool

Had a meal here last night and it was absolutely amazing. Every dish was packed with flavour and cooked perfectly. I don’t normally write reviews, but the food was so good, I just had to. Will definitely be back.

This low key and casual Korean resturant is very good. Sat at high table in stools, we enjoyed a very good meal. Small plate highlights were the pork bao bun, broccoli and peanut gochujang and the meat donut. The donut was a revelation. We then had the spicy miso ramen and KBB shin ramen, both were very good.

The food and service were top notch. You have to try the meat doughnut.

1st time eating here and the food was amazing. The waiter helped in choosing what to have as we wanted to order the small plates enough for 4 of us. Every dish was delicious, even ordered more. Great place!

Just off Bold Street, a peaceful and genuinely very tasty spot. I said ‘mmm!’ out loud. They’ve chosen to do a few things and do them really well.

Overpriced food, not worth the money, 15 euros for bad ramen. On the other hand waiters were very nice and hot. Didn’t enjoy anything expect looking at red head waitress.

Modern, almost Nordic decor and no loud music. 😀 Fast service and great flavors. We had two starters followed by the ramen and drank another Asahi.

We ordered a few small dishes to share between 2, we were nicely filled after ordering 5 dishes. The meat doughnut was our favourite, it sounds strange but tasted really good! I really liked the korean chicken with mayo, whilst my partner loved the peanut gojuchang sauce on the tenderstem broccoli. We also tried the tofu bao bun and liked it. I would avoid the bulgogi skewers as they were very chewy, but this also has the peanut gochujang sauce on it. Service was good, we were served water to share without having to ask, and we could pay at the till once done, so no waiting around asking for the bill. It's nice to have a lovely Korean restaurant in Liverpool - it would be great to see a bigger menu as time goes on, but I would love to come back and try the spicy rice cakes next time!

Comida en general genial, la rosquilla de carne era muy interesante, el plato de cerdo y arroz era delicioso y los rahmen KBB empacó un ponche. Debería ser una revisión de 4 estrellas pero... Soecificly Preguntó al camarero si miso rahmen era picante para niños de 12 años cuando pedimos y nos dijeron que no era picante en absoluto ... una cuchara en ella estaba luchando y casi no comió nada de eso (ella ama un buen rahmen también! ) Como amante de las especias, probé algunas y definitivamente empacó un ponche y nunca lo habría declarado no picante. Estas cosas pasan pero esperaba que el plato se quitara de la factura o al menos ppart reembolsado ya que el consejo del camarero era malo por lo que nos decepcionaron no se hizo ningún esfuerzo para compensar. Para repetir. La comida era DELICIOSA

De vuelta otra vez. Tenderstem Brócoli, Meat Donuts y Beef Skewers, compartidos como entrantes. Luego tallarines con espinilla. La comida estaba bien presentada, picante, pero no demasiado caliente. El postre era un pastel de queso y Tiramisu. Honestamente no podía faltar nada. El servicio, como siempre, fue eficiente y amable.

So much depth of flavour in the dishes. Can’t wait to go again.

Arrived just after 9pm Saturday and the place was shut. If you’re going to advertise certain hours then please stick to them or change the details. It’s not rocket science. Went to Spice Thai instead and, very reliably, had a fantastic dinner.

My new go to restaurant when I’m in town. Food was delicious and the tea was a surprising delight. Only had a selection of the starters, but I’ll be back soon to try the mains.

Finding this place was just lucky Googling! We were visiting from the U.S. and were hungry after a long day of travel. The soju mojito was so refreshing, the ginger & garlic noodle dish and bao buns were delicious. Even the side of broccoli was perfect! Definitely recommend!

Ambiente relajado y comida impresionante! Esta fue mi segunda visita a KaiBaiBo y sin duda volveré! Fui con mi madre. Compartimos costillas de maíz y los pinchos de carne más increíbles. Luego tomamos un tazón de fideos cada uno. La porción de fideos era grande, así que era demasiado grande para mi madre, pero me comí todos los míos. Ambos disfrutamos de la comida a fondo. ¡Increíbles cócteles también! Recomiendo el ciruela negrani. ¡No es grande así que recomiendo que reserve para asegurarse de obtener una mesa!

Kaibaibo was a recommendation in Time Out Liverpool. The menu was enticing and eating it was even better! We shared Korean Fried Chicken, Spiced Butter Corn Ribs, Bulgogi Skewers - delicious. We were hungry (greedy) and also had Shoryu (the pork belly just melted in the mouth) and KBB Shin Ramen (has a kicked). Would we recommend Kaibaibo - YES. Would we go again - hell yes!

Ramen is one of my favourites dishes and I always struggle to get a mix between the perfect meat and flavour and noodles and this had everything. The only thing I would say to improve is to offer a large size in case people don’t want sides/starters, but it’s was 10/10

Our 2nd visit. All the dishes were excellent especially the sweetcorn ribs. You don't have to order nearly everything off the menu, but we tried our best. So tasty.

The service and other things are fine. The ramen dishes are incredibly small portions and the shoryu in particular is way too salty with no complexity in the broth. Charsiu was very overcooked and not properly cleaned before use. Well this is clearly a Japanese Korean British fusion, but unfortunately one below the most average standard.

I tried the KBB shin ramen and the Tantanmen ramen, both were excellent. Staff were very friendly and service was great.

I would highly recommend Kaibaibo. The food and drinks were all fantastic - would definitely recommend the corn ribs and the chicken bao. Great range of drinks (the mojito was amazing) and the staff were really helpful and friendly. Everything was a really great price too. Will definitely be back when I next visit Liverpool.

The tantanmen ramen gave me so much happiness

They do incredible food on a ridiculously reasonable budget. If you’re looking for the best meal out under £40 you’ll eat here like a king. I frequent here more than most places and it never feels like enough. X an absolute gem.

Good food, good portions and a lot of variety. Second time I’ve been for dinner and they don’t disappoint.

It's a small but perfect menu. Everything we tried was packed with so much flavour and arrived within a few minutes of placing an order. The vegetable udon was delicious. Drinks options are quite limited, but all complimentary of the menu

"Small yet perfectly formed" has to be the best way to describe this restaurant Do not risk a walk-in! Book a table to avoid disappointment. The menu is small, yet there's still a good variety of dishes to try. Every dish we had was delicious - we could not fault it. Service was fast yet friendly, and the price was reasonable. I can't wait to go back to sample the rest of the menu.

We had an insanely good meal at KaiBaiBo! The Korean Fried Chicken was perfectly seasoned and crispy, the gochujang sauce on the side the ideal blend between sweet and spicy. Shoryu ramen and char sui noodles were both packed full of flavour. Everything was freshly cooked, piping hot and generous portions, and service was excellent. We both agreed we've found a new favourite independent in Liverpool and already can't wait to return.

Incredible food and dog friendly

Kaibobo is amazing. The chicken is tender and juicy - the meat doughnuts are to die for (we had 2!). The service was excellent and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Fresh, reasonably priced and tasty as hell!

We ate here when we visit Liverpool for TS concert N2... and what a great chance this was. The food was great. The por ramen was so delicious and the baos were super yummy. I had the chicken bao... to be honest I wish I could eat everything ln the menu before I felt full...

My wife and i visited on the 20th June. The restaurant is super welcoming and relaxed, we received fantastic service from Robin. We ordered quite a few dishes and the standouts were the bulgogi steak, the corn ribs; which I think of daily and the tteokbokki. Cannot wait to go back here on our next visit to the city. The only thing I forgot to buy was a tshirt. KaiBaiBo might be my favourite restaurant.

The food is so good especially the fried chicken and the bulgogi for a reasonable price. I didnt really enjoy much the curry ramen but it is worth the try. I wish they serve rice 😊

Some of the best ramen I've had, with good portions and prices and our server was lovely. The place was really well kept and I loved the look of it.

Kaibaibo was extraordinarily good. The best comparison I can make would be Momofuku Noodle Bar when it first opened down on 1st ave and 10th in NYC (not the current, overextended, overexposed version). Food that is both new and exciting while respectful to its Japanese and Korean origins. Service that is friendly and attentive without being cloying. And a vibe (decor, music) that is simple and unfussy, but still cool enough to bring a date or friends. Really loved the broccolini with lime-peanut butter-gochujang, and the tantanmen. I’m not vegetarian, but these two dishes made me feel like I could happily be so.

I visited here with my wife whilst visiting Liverpool for Paul Smith at Hot water comedy club, great food, cold drinks,good service. Nice intimate relaxed venue serving some great Asian/Korean inspired food,I would recommend it friends and family and will come back next time in Liverpool

Great food and nice staff, the shoryu ramen is a fair bit too salty to drink the broth but still good eating. The charsui noodles where fantastic and very pleasant and were the buns.

Awesome Bao Chicken, music and atmosphere ‘[•_•]´

What a superb little restaurant! I come to Liverpool a lot and felt like trying some new restaurants this week. It’s good to try new things. Keeps life interesting! Fancied something different so thought I’d try this highly recommended Korean restaurant on Slater Street. The reviews were correct - this is a lovely little place with great food. Certainly stands out. Restaurant is small, about 35 covers max, so I booked online. Menu is a choice between small plates and ramen. I opted for small plates - had to have the signature meat doughnut to start - you really do have to have this here; a strange but fantastic sensation. Beautiful beef inside a fluffy doughnut, powdered with sugar. Sitting on a bed of spicy sauce. Could eat that all day 😆 Korean fried chicken, bulgogi skewers and a pork belly bao were my other choices. All superb - lovely, crisp, chicken; tender beef and a soft and tasty bao. Could not fault the food - all fresh, tasty and well cooked. Service was excellent and welcoming. The beer was Asahi. I went to the brewery where they bottle that once. Price very reasonable. I will definitely have to come back here again. You should eat here; very recommended. Meat doughnut for the people. 😻 Two paws up 🙌🏻

The food is fabulous - not particularly fancy but certainly not street food either. Having visited south east Asia many times over the years i ve tasted some really great food similar to what this place offers and Kaibaibo delivers well. The interior is fairly basic but clean and the staff were attentive. The menu is different enough to be interesting but not so left field you need to ask what most things are. Food was hot, portion size was generous and the bill was more than reasonable Would 100% return on next visit to Liverpool

Lovely little gem. This is the first place me and my friend went to eat when arriving into Liverpool. It didn’t disappoint the food was hot and fresh ! The waiter was so amazing and helpful (I’m so sorry I forgot her name)but she was super helpful even gave us some info about Liverpool as a town which was lovely. She was attentive and really added a warmth to the place. The food was great, the corn is lovely

We visited KaiBaiBo on a Saturday afternoon after reading great reviews and we were not disappointed. We wanted to order everything on the menu but went with some bao, fried chicken, the meat donut, ramen and fries, and it was all excellent, as was the service and atmosphere. The fries were an unexpected treat for this fry-loving family, and a nice touch for fussy kids.

The service is excellent, with very friendly staff, and the ambiance is very welcoming, although it's a bit cold as I still have to put my coat on (10°C outside). The size of the food portions is borderline "reasonable" for the price. The broth of the ramen is too salty for my liking, and the meat is not as tender as it should be. I ordered Bulgogi on skewers, but again, it's too salty. However, the peanut sauce is great. I enjoyed eating the pork belly Bao as the meat is perfectly cooked and seasoned, but the portion is too small. In fairness, the dishes were properly plated and presented. Overall, I enjoyed the place and experience, but considering the overall taste of the food we ordered, I just cannot justify the price. I initially thought it was a pure Korean restaurant, but it's more like a fusion of Korean, Japanese, and Chinese cuisines.

Delicious lunch! Service was really friendly, even brought some water for our dog. Food came quickly and was very tasty. Two people sharing a bao, ramen and bulgogi skewers and we both left full. Recommend booking, it got busy very quickly.

Love this place. Second visit to KaiBaiBo now and was just as good as the first time. I was visiting Manchester this time but decided to take a trip to liverpool just for this place as the food is so good and the staff are great. The lovely waitress even remembered me from my previous visit a couple of months ago! I was shocked how she remembered! A lovely touch. Really friendly staff. Food is outstanding. Delicious 10/10. Must must get the meat donut. You will not be dissapointed.

Had high hopes from this place! We tried the pork belly and chicken bao buns! Overall the flavours and seasoning were a bit underwhelming and the filling was less as compared to the size of the bun especially in the pork one ! Chicken one was better than the pork - the meats were cooked well! The bao bun itself was definitely good quality and was upto the mark! The place looked nice and full when we went and hence got a couple of bao buns for takeaway as we wanted to try out this place for a while!

Fresh, delicious food. The donut is a must try! Sweet meets savoury, odd but amazing!

We had the meat stuffed donuts, char grilled broccoli and kimchi for starters. Two dishes of noodles followed. Everything was perfect. They were ready with the ramp to get my chair in. We had an interesting plum wine negroni as well. Couldn’t ask for a better place to eat.

Anyone looking for a friendly restaurant, excellent value for money, amazing food, then would highly recommend here. Especially recommend the meat donut/ boa bun, will definitely be returning.

I was so excited to try this place and I was devastated today when I finally got the chance and a few dishes just weren't right. The sauce for the rice cakes had so much soy that it was near inpalatable, which is such a shame because the other flavours and the texture was lovely. The beef ramen also had way too much fish sauce. It was the only smell and flavour that came through and overpowered the whole dish. I actually love seafood and fish sauce, but the amount used just wasnt right with this dish. Again, it was such a shame because the noodles, shin and kimchee were nice. The pork belly was good, and the corn ribs were great. The service was also very slow. For a Saturday lunch time there was only 1 server, making drinks, taking orders, clearing tables, delivering food and seating guests. She was very polite and we couldn't fault her service when we were able to get her attention, but she just couldn't cope with the amount of people she was looking after. I might go back and try again to see whether a different chef/day fixes the problems we had. I hope it does because I LOVE Korean food.

Individual staff are excellent, the management are what lets it down. Responding to the owner response: we went in person to the restaurant to cancel our booking a little before 6pm, booked for 8.30. We weren't informed that we would be charged at that time - we went in person to figure out if we'd be charged since the ts&cs are not possible to find after booking initially (you have to make a new booking to find em). We'd have attended our booking otherwise. I'm not trying to be down on a business struggling in this economy. I've just been trying to get across the point that this booking system is not exactly fit for purpose. You may not have control over it, but surely you can control your own website and put up the terms of the cancellation policy (and not claim that it's a no-show policy since we did in fact show up) clearly there. It's not really the point but when we turned up there was only one table being used so the whole empty table that could be being used idea doesn't really hold water. Once again, I want to reiterate that if we'd been informed that we would be charged when we cancelled we would have kept the booking. That's why we went in person so we could discuss with the member of staff, rather than just cancelling online.

Great Asian fusion food, ramen is really good and the fried chicken is amazing. Have been here on multiple occasions and service tends to be a bit slow, is worth the wait tho. Highly recommend.

Great food, atmosphere and service.

Curry ramen from here was an experience I’ll never forget. It was so good I want the recipe!!! Returning soon to sample more of the menu. This stuff is full of love and you can taste it :)))
