Kabana in Kirklees

Got the lamb chops meal but with fries instead of naan. Was bit disappointed with the portion of chops- I received 4 tiny lamb chops and a good sized portion of fries with salad which was really fresh and 😋 delicious. I did ask for medium spice, however was quite spicy but as a I was hungry just ate🙈. I'd say quality of food is good but the lamb chop portion was a kids sized portion🥲. Btw the 4 tiny chops and good sized fries n salad cost £10 which i guess is okay if you're getting from restaurant but they definitely do need to re consider portion of chops. I should have taken pic for better understanding but i can say there was hardly any meat on chops🥹🥲. Thankyou for the lovely food and quick service.

Been recommended this place by fellow Asians and finally had a chance to try with some friends. Plenty of options and more Tawa options compared to other places. Shame we couldn't swap the currys out.

The no.1 restaurant in Huddersfield without a doubt. Amazing food every time. Head Chef Suleman is outstanding and a true champion of Customer service!

It use to be my fav place for food and family get togethers , but last two visits food was really a disappointment , cold food was served on inquirey there was no answer , I waited out side with my family at least for 40 mins even I got booking in advance and after all of this No good food , any ways THEY NEED TO IMPROVE FOOD QUILITY , otherwise FOOD IS NOT RECOMMENDED , sorry then again to management it’s my opinion , bringing salad baar back is great , SALAD BAAR is excellent like always ,

My friends and I recently visited Kabanas for a birthday meal, having traveled from London, and we were extremely disappointed with our experience. From the start, things went downhill. Upon arrival, we were seated at a table that was far too small for our group of six. We were cramped, and our chairs kept knocking into the people behind us. The lack of space made for a very uncomfortable dining experience. We tried to make the best of it and went to the salad buffet, gathering one plate of salad for our whole table. However, the manager saw this and reprimanded us for “wasting salad,” threatening to charge us £10 if we didn’t finish it. This was a very unwelcoming gesture right at the start of our meal, and it set a negative tone for the rest of the evening. Things did not improve when our food arrived. We ordered a tawa, but unfortunately, all the meat on it was dry and tasteless. This was very disappointing, especially given the high expectations we had. As if that wasn’t enough, the complimentary kheer we were given at the end was expired. It tasted acidic, and two of us had to spit it out. We called the manager over and suggested he try it himself, but he refused, clearly aware that the dish was expired. This was not only frustrating but also quite concerning from a food safety perspective. To top it all off, the atmosphere was ruined when the music abruptly turned off and the manager began arguing with the staff in front of the customers. It was an absolute shambles and reflected poorly on how the business is run. Overall, our experience at Kabanas was disappointing and frustrating. The poor food quality, lack of customer service, and chaotic management made for a very unpleasant evening. It’s clear that this place has fallen off, and I would not recommend it to anyone looking for a decent meal.

absolute love kabanas always is amazing everytime, the tava for 3 was so good and the owner was the sweetest- Billo. he was so sweet and gave use free desserts on the house, really enjoyed my time here and so did my friends. felt so welcome and the staff were brilliant. billo deserves all the happiness and success to his restaurant, he is lovely. the food was yum. 10/10 no faults.

Went as a family of 7, food was disgusting, chicken was chewy and had a weird smell to it. The service was appalling and the staff were rude and ignorant.

I won't recommend getting tawa for 7. Last time I got tawa for 6 and there was more food more steam, more Donner. Tawa for seven just didn't get the vibe as I initially had when we came out first time.

Chips and naan breads were cold and hard

After a long time I decided to take my kids here and they absolutely loved the food it was spot on , had a problem with my meal as I told them no chilli but when I went to pay the manager insisted to take a another curry home for the kids now that's what I call a manager absolutely enjoyed it , when a manager takes a complaint seriously it's a place to go

KABANA YOU NEED TO SORT YOUR MENU !! You have listed two Mixed Naan Kebabs, one with Doner and Seikh the other Chicken and Seikh I stated Chicken and Seikh and you sent me Doner…this has happened before so this is why the feedback, your Express shop has it appropriately hope you can !

The food was lovely except for the Samosa's, couldn't eat them as the were cold and partly soggy, like they had just come out of the fridge.... It won't stop me from ordering food again, as normally everything is too a high standard😊

Pleasantly surprised after reading all the negative reviews left by some people some of which were regarding the cost 🤷🏽‍♂️, I might be missing something but the menus we got had all the prices listed 🤔 if you’re not happy just get up and leave, and I’m sure the prices must be listed online too for you to check before booking a table or turning up. If your issue is relating to something else just speak to someone and see if it can’t be resolved it’s that simple and 9/10 times it can be resolved. I’ve never been here, I was driving past, was soaking wet and muddy and not ‎in the best of moods and was both hungry and hangry and thought why not, and I’m glad I did. Got off to a bit of a rocky start and then I looked online and saw all the negative comments and that put me in an uncomfortable position, but I’m a fair guy and I let the food and my own experiences speak for themselves. I then got talking to one of the staff who was a very nice and polite lad and then the food came out after a bit of a wait but that was because of the changes I had made to our order, and it didn’t disappoint 👌🏽 Well done Kabana 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽

Few loud customers that came straight from the pub, apart from that nice atmosphere and still got the old school decorations lol.

Food is 8/10 In a nutshell, you will not waste your money

We ordered a take out as this is our go to, when the food arrived it was cold. We called the restaurant to let them know and they were sure it was the fault of the driver, I was told ‘we have delivered food to Birmingham before and it was still lukewarm’. Working in the industry I am absolutely certain this food wasn’t cooked fresh to order/cooked to the correct temperature which is a shame as this is our go to place to get curries from. I highly doubt we will be returning

Felt so uncomfortable, made to feel like an inconvenience when eating at this place despite booking. Waiters were rude and unfriendly, the food was below average and small portions not justifying the price. Won’t be returning.

Ordered a chicken masala from.here. Was very confused as the chicken was diced very small as though it was for a child! It didn't have any flavour/seasoning. It tasted very much like a supermarket curry. The rice and chapatti wasn't too bad.

Had visited Kabana about 6 weeks ago and seeing as there was three of us we decided on the 3 person tawa.. back then no complaints, but... we have just revisited and being 4 of us we decided on the 4 person tawa! What a mistake that was, i only wish i had read the reviews beforehand as our experience basically mirrored what other people said in their reviews. When we entered the restaurant, we were seated virtually straight away at a window corner table, there were 5 chairs to the table but virtually a third of the table was pushed in to the corner so unusable, we decided to pull it out slightly and move a chair to make more room. people were then seated to the back of us and to the right of us and essentially, we were all rubbing seat backs, not very good at all. we ordered then went to salad bar and before we had even finished the salad which was maybe 5 minutes from ordering, the food then arrived, how on earth could it all have been cooked fresh in 5 minutes! it couldn't have! of which I’ll explain later... when the food arrived there looked to be less than our previous visit and looking at the menu of what you get for an extra £17 approximately, is half of a barbeque starter which that in itself is only about £11.50.. so what an absolute con!!! wouldn't have been so bad if you had extra curry. but maybe that wasn't a bad thing at all as the night went on!! regarding the food the curry was ok but not as good as last time and the chops and chicken wings were black and burnt, plus they were so small hardly any meat on them at all. another thing that was off putting was a waiter stood there staring at you, soon as you were finished, they swooped in and cleared the table. When we left, we went for a walk around the park, I didn't feel right at all, my partner was ok as she only really had a little bit of the curry and a bit of salad. we all went our separate ways and i got a phone call the following morning from one of the friends who went out with us, asking me if I was ok. I wasn't, I had been up half the night backwards and forward to the toilet, it also transpired so had my two friends! we went on Saturday evening, today is Monday and he is still suffering. Our guess is that some off the food was precooked and then reheated hence the super quick time it was brought to our table. so never again, Kabana needs to up there game and look after their customers... oh and another thing... for what you pay the portions are really not worth it.

On arrival freindly staff, ordered tawa for 4, good food, but found a hair in food, told staff, she cane and hust said sori quietly, so next table wouldent hear, they didnt even give discount or change food, whole family put off when found hair, terrible service, lack of hygiene, and staff didnt want tomknow when complaint made, wouldent recommend at all.

Brilliant food, no restaurant I’ve been to would cook me the dish I had at my friends house when I was younger, I spoke to the young lad on the till and with the name of the dish from my old friend he said he would get it made, I still can’t pronounce it or say it but every time I call in he knows the dish and has it made specially for me absolutely fantastic service can’t fault them in any way

They are only fraudulent people and looted people in the of delicious food. Tasteless food, no privacy and just waste of money this restaurant. We ordered just 3 small portions to check their quality and taste and sheer disappointed to taste all this and payed for what really shocked. Small portion of degi lamb, two seeks 4 seeks kabs and one seeks of chicken tikka and payed £35.75 for all this rubbish. They are really fraudulent and over charged at the time of payment. Never try this restaurant. You will repent and waste your money.

Avoid at all costs and save your money and go elsewhere! Visted today with family and honestly am not one to complain but this food was absloutley shocking. As soon as we entered they offered us a small table and asked if they can give us a bigger table as wanted more space to which they did. So we ordered the so called famous TAVA GRILL good job we ordered for only 3 and not 4 with the horrendous sides. The chicken and lamb curry was so bland no spice or seasoning at all and then the chicken, donner, lamb chops, wings were raw mixed with frozen chips and naans I literally felt sick and just wanted to leave the place and to top it off the waiters were staring at us whilst eating which left us all very uncomfortable. The biryani looked like Uncles Bens rice packets mashed up altogether I can go on and on but I was not impressed after hearing good things about this place it really has not been a pleasant experience at all shocking service and very very disappointed never again will I enter this place. #RantOver

It was my first time ordering from this place, I ordered through Ubereat, and paid about 17£ with uber charges and this is what I got from them, this is a starter dish not a main course dish! This was my first time and it's the last one as well.

Had a lovely time here the staff were very polite and helpful the service was one if not the best service they were very attentive to us all the place was very clean the food was delicious we couldn’t have asked for better will definitely be returning five star plus 👍

We ordered Tava for 6. Excellent food. Donner was a totally different taste to the bog standard donner from the majority of takeaways. Lamb chops slightly tough. Chicken boti was nice and tender. I would rate this 5 BUT the chicken masala was bland and not at all tasty. I hope the owner/s read my comments. Definitely would go again but not for the red coloured chicken masala.

The service was fantastic. Food arrived quickly. The waiters were very friendly and polite. Food was on a tawa. Kebabs were delicious and chicken and lamb karahi were awesome. Was given complimentary teas after meal.

I had an amazing food experience at Kabana, which is just a 3-minute walk from Huddersfield's bus and train station. After going through their menu, I ordered a Mix Tawa platter, along with Kheer (rice pudding), Falooda, Mango lassi, and a can of pop. One more extraordinary thing written on the menu was that one could modify and ask for variations in the Tawa platter. I decided to go for the original Tawa that they cater. The restaurant also gave me a complimentary salad with various sauces. The salad bar had fresh salad, marinated pickled onions. The tomato chilli chutney, Raita, and mint sauce were all very good and made the food taste even more delicious. The food was made fresh, right in front of me in the live kitchen. It took them around 15 minutes to serve me the Tawa platter, which was quite a sight to see. The Tawa was served in a unique way, with colorful lights on top of the lid. The platter was massive and had Lamb Chops, Chicken Tikka, Chicken Tikka Wings, Roti, Nan bread, Chips, Lamb Karahi, Mutton Seekh Kebabs, Chicken bhuna, and Lamb Donner. I must say, my recent dining experience was simply amazing! The chips were outstanding, and the chicken tikka wings and chicken tikka were delicious! They were perfectly cooked, and the marination was just right. The papadoms were fresh and nice, and the roti and nan bread were superb! They complemented everything served on the Tawa perfectly. Let me tell you about the Lamb Chops - they were so good that I couldn't resist having more. The Lamb Karahi and Chicken Bhuna were also great experiences. The Lamb Karahi had a traditional taste that reminded me of Indian and Pakistani food. The lamb was cooked to perfection - juicy and flavorful. And the Chicken Bhuna was excellent too - it was so tasty and well-prepared. Every dish was bursting with flavor, and I thoroughly enjoyed every bit of my meal! Even the Lamb Donner tasted nice. The Mango Lassi was sweet and had a hint of sourness since it's made from mangoes. I loved it, and I'll order it again on my next visit. For dessert, the Kheer was brilliant - not too sweet, and I loved the way it was garnished with crushed pistachios and almonds. The Falooda was also flavor-packed, made of rose syrup, Kulfa (milk-based Indian ice cream), and vermicelli. It reminded me of the Falooda I had in Karachi. The restaurant's ambience was warm, and there were plenty of seats. Even though the restaurant was slightly busy, the toilets were clean. The courteous and kind staff were well aware of the food they served and were quite informative. It's always a pleasure to interact with such individuals as it makes the overall food experience brilliant. I was delighted to learn about the rich history of this restaurant and the fact that they have been serving the wonderful people of Huddersfield for over 30 years. It's truly amazing to see such dedication to providing excellent service and delicious food in one place. This restaurant is definitely a hidden gem that has stood the test of time. My dine-in experience was fantastic.

The curry had a half of a plastic l lid of a bottle which was rock hard if anyone had of swallowed it it would of slit their throat

I visited Kabana Restaurant for the first time last Saturday and had booking upstairs. as we were more then 15 people! The place was perfect, Food was awesome and perfect original Pakistani food😋😋 And the service was amazing. The waitress served us very nicely, politely and friendly. appreciate that. Will visit soon again 👍

In recent times standards have dropped for Kabana standards, kebabs now seemed chicken and not mutton which is a shame, the kebabs were what made kabana stand out from the rest. Naan was not as fresh either. But if judging by a typical takeaway standard it wasn't too terrible.

The main was just chicken chunks & loads & no sauce & bland, & garlic naan was a inch thick with garlic butter & was disgusting.. £30 total order & complete waste of money .. will never order again

Just returned from this restaurant recommended by a friend. Freshest starters and curry all sizzling on a large platter to share; large portions as told by the waitress who kindly suggested we order the 3 people platter for a family of four with two children aged 8+. Highly recommended it especially as chaiiwala is next door for dessert. Delicious!

I have bought from Kabana for many years, I rate them highly, unfortunately yesterdays delivery appeared to have been stored upside down, all the oil and flavour had gone out in the carrier bag creating a mess all over the rest of the food leaving the curry tasteless and red oil on the floor dripping out unbeknown to me initially, wasn’t happy at all. I will still continue to use Kabana l like their food and I like Biloo but better care needs to be taken guys.

Being going for a while and never let down with the food. Food is pretty decent and the service is exceptional! All the waiters are always polite and attentive We went today and think we were greeted by the owner who was humble and seated us down. Will always come back here!

Rip off... Ended up paying more than what was on the menu price.. Not advertised anywhere that priced had changed.. When queried this told everything has gone up. The menu had 330mls cans at £1.50 but was charge £2.00, a portion of chips at menu price at £2.50 but charged £3.50 per portion. For a family of eight ended up paying between £10 and £15 extra.. Was told to speak to manager who was not in. RIP off.. Ps don't mind paying advertised prices, or told before we bought the actual prices. No refund given.. STAY AWAY

Very disappointed with portion sizes! Order two chicken Nan kebabs to take out. When I opened only 5 small pieces of chicken boti on small nan and tiny amount of salad. These are not adult size portions and certainly not filling for an adult. In comparison to a Shimlas for similar price it was a huge let down. Food is great but tiny portions won’t bother ordering again.

The pioneers of tawa. This place used to be so good. I went recently and sadly the standards have dropped a lot. Very disappointed because these guys were one of the first ones to bring tawa to a restaurant setting. I really hope this place improves and becomes what it once was.
