Please don't order takeaway from this place. We order at 5.30 for 7 delivery turned up at 7.45 + rubbish delivery. When you phone chasing 'on its way' was constant reply. Cold when arrived Waste of time!!!!!!

i ordered here and i was eating my Chinese curry and then there was a piece of plastic or film in my food i called and then the women was giving me an attitude

After sampling many of the local Chinese take always over the years and my last go to going downhill dramatically, I have now become a regular customer of the ka Ming. I have had several meals every month for over 2 years now and never had a bad one yet. All our orders are always correct and everything is delivered piping hot and in good time. My family now travel over from Paignton because it’s so much better than their local ones. It’s constantly busy which I think is proof that others are also enjoying their food as much as I am, but despite how busy they get, the service is always polite and friendly. I particularly enjoy their pork and pineapple and the pork curry. The pork is always so delicious. Everything I’ve tried has been really lovely with great portion sizes. I’m very surprised that they have any negative reviews on here but I guess it’s all down to personal taste. I would say, if you’re unsure, at least try it the once, which is what I did 2 years ago and I’m so glad I did :-)

The vegetable spring rolls were the flattest I have ever had, the actual contents of the "rolls" were almost negligible, literally must have been just a few grams of squidge. Really just awful. Chips were ok.

Disappointing! Ordered chicken and mushroom chow mien. Well I managed to find two halves of mushroom! The dish was dry and unexciting. Won’t be ordering that again and unlikely to return for a while.

Told 45 mins for delivery, took over 2 hours! Order was wrong and food cold wont be returning again!

Me and my partner have ordered from this Chinese 3 times now and each time the food has been great, definitely found are new chinese takeaway.

Been using Ka-Ming for a good few years now and can honestly say I've never had a bad meal ,ok sometimes you get the odd thing that isn't quite right but still edible .Last night we had the spare ribs ,honey n chilli,bbq .Faultless bloody lovely .I highly recommend this place as the quality of both food and customer service is excellent.

It seems like on here people only pick on the bad bits and never mention the best bits of Ka-Ming, not everyone/everywhere get things perfect all the time. This is honestly the best Chinese meal I have ever had!! I phoned up and placed my order they said it could be ready for collection in 5-10 minutes, I picked it up in 10 minutes and I got home and the food was still hot! The staff are so polite and have great customer service skills. 100% recommend, no matter of the other reviews on here. Thank you Ka-ming!

Absolutely delicious takeaway and ready for collection in no time at all. Staff and drivers all very friendly. Given a free new year calendar just before Christmas. If you haven't had a takeaway from them before you will Def be impressed. Give them a try!

When Ka Ming was actually owned by Ka Ming himself, this was our go to Chinese. Over the years it’s had a few changes in ownership and honestly has just gotten worse and worse. Tonight we had to choose somewhere else as our usual was closed. We thought we’d give Ka Ming another shot and see how they were doing. Big regret. The noodles in the chow mein were soggy and overcooked, the sauces in the dishes were thin and all of them tasted the same - of pineapple. I love that fruit but honestly everything at the Chinese shouldn’t taste of it! Even the chicken balls batter was overcooked. It was just all round very average, I wouldn’t bother nor recommend spending your hard earnt money at Ka Ming, need to up your game!

I'm writing this because I feel this place deserves a much better rating on here, and are getting quite a hard time from some. The first two reviews I've read are basically saying that they are NORMALLY really good but they've decided to publish a review based on the one negative experience, which is typical of these review sites, i.e. ten good experiences, no review ... one bad, straight to TripAdvisor, guns blazing! Then there's the "everything was horrible" review which I never trust - probably just the competition playing dirty - listing off every item on the order as bland, mushy, cold, you name it. Well, we started using Ka-Ming after some mediocre results from our other regulars in Newton, and I can honestly say that every single experience has been wonderful. Delicious food, e.g. the lemon chicken is actually drowning in sauce rather than you getting a small tub to pour over, and the driver (always friendly) has always arrived much earlier than the estimated time. Yes, that includes last night, which was at peak time. Always friendly on the phone - unlike another place I reviewed who basically answered the phone with "We're not taking anymore orders tonight" and that was that - and I can only reiterate that the food is always hot, fresh-tasting, succulent (especially the duck) and tasty. Last night was the ONLY time (out of about 6-7 purchases) that they forgot something (the rice) which wasn't worth ringing up for, seeing we always get a free bag of prawn crackers and so it's not like we lost out too much. Frustrating, though. They nearly had a full house! I never understand how hard it is to count some boxes. But hey, I've never known a takeaway in my life that hasn't made this mistake at least once, be it a dip or an entire meal. The ONLY real negative, if I were to advise them on where to improve, is the starter menu. It really needs expanding, guys! Four of the seven overall options are soup, and it's just a real shame given how great the rest of the menu (and overall service) is. What about chicken satay skewers, which the girlfriend loves and misses? Prawn balls? Mixed hor d'oeuvres? Scallops? Spring rolls? But that's the only negative. I'm really impressed otherwise. They'll be hearing from me a lot more times, I imagine!

We have takeaways once a fortnight ! I would normally give you 4.5 but tonight it was a 2 bland and tasteless Sorry for this but if we don't tell you it can't be amended

Having used Kaming many times over the years, the last 2 times have been disgusting. We had our normal chicken chow mien, beef curry egg fried rice. Prawn crackers and veggie spring rolls. Chicken in the chow mien was awful! Hard to cut and definitely not edible, the chips where disgusting they was so crispy and hardly any potato in them. Deffo gone down hill over the past few months, and will NOT be visiting again !!

Having used Kaming for many years I can only say as I find. They are always courtious and when I ring and order my takeaway it is always ready for collection when I arrive.

Last 2 times we have ordered we have requested the delivery driver ring us when he arrives rather then knock the door as it would wake our baby up.

Decided on a spur on the moment to have a Chinese takeaway. Easy to park on the street and made to order. Deffo recommend.

We have been using Ka-Ming for years and have always had a good meal from them. The food always arrives in the time given and is always very fresh and hot. We tend to stick to our favourite dishes but we do venture out and try new dishes and they never disappoint, full of flavour and very tasty. I really do recommend this takeaway.

My friend is pregnant and ordered a takeaway chicken curry. As she got halfway through she noticed it was not cooked properly. When she called them, they were rude, arrogant and showed no remorse. Food Standards Agency have been informed!

Este tiene que ser uno de los peores jamás comprada junto con jardín chino china. Me dieron mi comida entregado hoy 15 de julio de 2017 y no fue realmente lo que llamaría caliente. De todos modos al ser un pollo, pero era de 85% de verduras y frutos secos no tenía sabor, fueron para un plato picante pero he tenido más caliente comidas tesco barato. Tenía 3 bocado y lo tiró lejos fue asqueroso nunca ir allí de nuevo.

Soy muy exigente con la comida al elegir un para llevar, he leído algunos comentarios y después un vistazo al menú, decidí darle una oportunidad a este lugar. Me alegro tanto de haberlo hecho, la entrega fue un promedio de espera, pero la comida era caliente, sabroso y de buen tamaño de la porción. He estado buscando un Chino me pueden disfrutar una y otra vez y puedo decir que me he reencontrado. Pruébalo sin duda no te decepcionará.

First time using this Chinese since our normal one was closed for the holidays. Service and food were outstanding. Think of found my new regular Chinese. Thank you

Lots of choice and tasty food served by pleasant staff . Portions can be a bit stingy at times but on the whole you get a good meal.

First experience of Ka Ming for takeaway was great. Pleasant and helpful staff. Food delivered promptly and piping hot. Generous portions and it all tasted good.

Normalmente el fin de llevar, pero ahora cierra los lunes, así que probé este. Las comidas eran muy sabrosas, algunas muy diferentes de los platos habituales, y no salada, lo que a veces puede ser un problema con platos chinos. Sólo podemos hablar ya que encontrar y la comida que he tenido hasta ahora ha sido muy bueno; un gran volver si nuestro favorito para llevar no está disponible. Quizás un poco caro comparado con otros (tienen ponen sus precios), pero no pedir de nuevo aquí.

Sólo utilizamos esta para llevar, porque todos los demás estaban cerradas en el Día del Boxeo. Ojalá no hubiéramos decidely, la comida era de segunda clase. Pruebe uno de los otros para llevar en esta calle.

I have reviewed here before and gave it 5 stars. For food quality I stand by 5 stars but after being a loyal customer since they opened 10+ years ago, I have reached the end of my tether with regard to home delivery. Three consecutive times my order for delivery has been wrong. Each time it has been the wrong main meaks arrive. It then takes a very complicated phone call and another wait (30 mins to get the right meal) to enjoy their food. It is difficult to get to Ka Ming as we live out if the town but surely delivery of a simple order for two, should not be difficult. One or even two times is just about OK, but three is dreadful. Looking at other places now.

The best Chinese food around town. Great staff. Varied menu and set meals are excellent. They do get busy so I prefer to pre-order and collect rather than have the delivery service.

Last visited September 9th 2016.My third time of using this takeaway and I've been wholly impressed with both the quality and quantity of meals provided. A wide range of very tasty meals served promptly and with courtesy.Requests for slight changes to the meals presents no problem and they have got it spot on, every time.

I have used the Ka Ming on several occasions and have never been disappointed. The wide range of delicious food makes it difficult to choose but it will always be well prepared, piping hot, large quantities, enough for everyone to have a taste of something different and always served with a smile. The staff have a knack of remembering you from past visits and always make you feel welcome, often give you a bag of prawn crackers free and if they say 15 minutes, they mean it. The food is there when you are. All in all, one of the best take aways in Newton Abbot

Always a quick delivery, best tasting Chinese in Newton Abbot and very friendly. Always order from them. Very helpful and will adhere to any changes you may want to add or take away from your meal.

Used KaMing for first time, and really found it excellent. We called in our order and collected. Was ready on time. Lovely chow mein, didn't rate the spare ribs much - BBQ sauce wasn't very tasty. Curry and rice were good and the prawn crackers were best we've tasted. Will use again, but will warm up when we get home as didn't stay hot. We are only 15 mins away but could have been hotter. They do deliveries, but charge £5. Friendly service and not too bad value for good food.

We have been using this takeaway for probably getting on for 10 years but have noticed a deterioration in the quality of the food in the last 12 months,today 24/1the meat in the Cantonese house special was inedible the beef was just gristle, very disappointing, time for a change and I'll go elsewhere in the future

First time of using Ka-Ming and it did not disappoint. Varied menu full of flavour. I cannot comment on change of ownership but can only say I would use again as we had a very good meal.

Had a takeaway from here 4 times and is defiantly the best in town! Recommend the chicken and the beef. One fault are the chips

Used to be the best in Town, now the quality is awful, I've given it a Month to see if it improves but it's got even worse.

Change of ownership has imo seen standards fall. The food is less well cooked and varies in quality. Prices have increasesed but food not as good. Have stopped using as a consequence.

Didn't taste like any Chinese food I'd ever eaten before.. The service was awful, waited ages and then it was barely edible.

Best in Newton. I'd eat from here very night if I could. Fast and friendly: great value for money. Don't look anywhere else!

We really used to love our take away from here, but the last few times it has really been K-minging!I don't know whats happened, if the chef has left or what but we have now decided we're no longer a customer, which is very sad as we used to really enjoy our Friday night Chinese from here. The chicken balls were burnt, the dipping sauce was very vinegary, the special fried rice was not fresh and looked and smelt dodgy, and the duck gave my mother in law bad guts, terrible!

We use to go here often but found another Chinese we prefer. Today our normal takeaway was closed so we thought ka ming was good we'll get food our from there but what a huge mistake that was. It was honestly the worst ever Chinese takeaway we have ever had. Things have changed and not for the better. Go to China house Kingsteignton they are a thousand times better.

we ordered a takeaway for my sons birthday as he prefers this Chinese, my first experience and after reading some reviews I was a bit worried.Me and my Husband ordered Beef and tomato, Duck with Beansprouts and Shrimp Fried rice.Definitely no complaints from us, very tasty. the sauce for the Beef and tomato very thick and nice, not so keen on the Duck dish as under the beansprouts lots of what looked like was gravy, once this was drained I was happy with this.My son ordered the curry which he woofed down my daughter in law ordered the Hong Kong style Sweet and Sour she said it was delicious.

we are a duo who enjoy a cheeky chinese now and again, sadly there was nothing chinese or cheeky about our friday night feast.We climbed a great wall ourselves this night, trying to resist the urge to vomit in our prawn cracker bag, we only just made it. our order: chicken balls = terribduck and pineapple = horribchicken chow mein = awfand finally, prawn crackers, can you guess? thats right disgus.we had a slight glimmer of hope when we tried our first cracker but when observing the shine of what seemed to resemble broken glass we packed the whole lot in and went to bed very hangry. hangriness is a feeling we have only felt a couple of times, and if you have felt it too you will understand that it feels like the worst kind of betrayal known to man. With each bite we felt a small part of our souls disintegrating. there was no sign of those exciting fortune cookies that some chinese restaurants include, although im sure if there was it would have read something like 'you sure you wanna eat that?'. overall, we were the fools. it was utterly terrib

Really sorry but not for me. Far too sweet so if that is what you like then crack on with this takeaway. But everything was as thought had been doused in so much sugar, sweeteners and MSG. Couldnt actually taste anything else and felt very uncomfortable and unwell afterwards. Not for me.

We used to love the occasional treat from here and very much enjoyed it but unfortunately the last curry we had was a special curry and it smelt like burnt plastic when we opened it. Then I put it in my mouth and literally gagged I believe it could have been gone off prawn or beef . When I called to warn them it maybe dodgy the staff offered us £5 off next order but due to this I am to worried to try it again minus this unfortunate time it had been great in the past just sorry this put me off.
