No free prawn crackers after spending over £40! Then Foood was awful bbq ribs had no meat barely a bite in whole box! Curry sauce sweet and strange and most food burnt on top of that! Whole family feel poorly today hope it’s a 24hour thing not food poisoning 🤮

Customer service is dire. Ordered food between three people and we were told an hour wait which we were happy to wait out. 2hrs and 5 minutes later after ordering and numerous phone calls made by us… the food arrived (with what seemed a sincere apology from the delivery driver.) Then to find our order missing a main item - mixed balls. They sent the sauce, but no main item. For the 5th time, we called the restaurant once again and stated we were missing a main order. Asked for it to be delivered right away seeing we were kept in suspense for ages already, and were sent around the loop again saying it would be half hour for them to deliver the missing item. By then, the other food would have been cold and we rightfully refused to wait any longer when the service is obviously poor. No sincerity over the phone from the restaurant and no refund offered because we didn’t want to wait for food again. Mentioned we wouldn’t be buying again from them and lack of care from the person over the phone. My house mate was not happy and so he tried to call back to ask for reimbursement of the missing item, but they DID NOT pick up the phone. Pathetic when we paid nearly £70 for our order. To add - by this time the food was just warm enough to accept as edible. I would give 0 stars if optional. Shameful. Save yourself disappointment and DO NOT BUY FROM THIS PLACE.

Food is good, however the attitude of the young girl behind the counter has been terrible on multiple occasions as others have said. For this reason alone I have never left a tip. To top it off I've Just collected my order and they forgot one of the items. When I called to tell them she denied it was on the order even though she read the order back to me and then told me the price.

For you’re drunken punter, this Chinese will sort them out. If you’re looking for a great tasting Chinese takeaway that uses fresh garlic chilli ginger and so on. This is not the place. It’s the typical Beige rubbish. The sauces are so watery and tasteless. The prawns are the little red ones you get from bookers in a massive bag ( you know) and the rest of it is the same rubbish. Avoid. Go to the Chinese Hoi Shan Newton abbot. Loads of fresh garlic chilli ect. Don’t waste your money on the cheap Beige.

This is my absolute favourite Chinese takeaway. The food is always amazing and tasty. Sometimes there is a bit of wait even when you've ordered over the phone but the wait is always worth it. I had one occasion where they missed something off my order, so I phoned them straight away and they were quick to sort it.

Food is pretty ok. I collected a phone order on Saturday again was OK, the real let down in the far from warm welcome and the I really don't want to be here sour faced stroppy girl teen on the counter. Maybe some customer service training would be helpful

Young girl behind the counter doesn't want to be there serious attitude problems her face could have made milk go sour miserable. She needs help no people skills she must be a disgrace to her family if they own the shop ?. Get rid of her save some customers. Such a shame food was good.

Food on the whole was actually quite lovely. I was sceptical after hearing other peoples recent experiences but was pleasantly surprised. The only negative comment is that the boy who took my order over the phone seriously needs some customer service training. I’ve never felt like such a burden when trying to give my money to a company before.

Used to get fung sing often a few years ago and had it this week but was the worst Chinese we have ever had ! Since I have seen multiple bad comments over the last year with many bad complaints maybe a change of owners ?

Order food again from them… hoping last time was a one off… £27 wasted. Started a rough time… said that would be fine or a touch later. Rock up an hour early. Stone cold horrible Chinese. Nearly £60 wasted now!!!!

Phoned to see where order was after waiting 1.15 hours, was told it would be another 20 mins so almost 2 hours wait, would have cancelled if told this at beginning. Duck was almost inedible, chewy and tough. Have been coming here for 30 plus years but won’t be using again, definitely gone down hill.

Not sure why there are so many extremely negative/critical reviews, I must have had Chinese from here 100 times over the last decade and nothing has ever been egregiously bad. Can only assume that people generally tend to leave reviews when they've had absolutely terrible experiences rather than mediocre/decent ones, which skews the perception greatly. Generally it's a really good Chinese, probably the best in the area from what I've experienced, I have noticed sometimes the quality isn't as good as others, as an example I'd love to say the sweet and sour chicken balls are excellent but it's just not consistent enough if 1 out of 6 times they come with somewhat stringy chicken (lower quality meat? reheated? i don't know frankly - again, not egregiously bad, just not excellent). Duck fried rice is excellent, salt and pepper chicken is great, honestly I don't think I've ever had something from New Fung Sing that I'd describe as bad, just not as good as other times or perhaps 'decent' at worst. Wouldn't listen to the waves of incredibly harsh/negative reviews, not to say they didn't have negative experiences but they certainly aren't the norm and it's not to be expected. However the ONE thing that annoys me is card payments, sometimes they'll take them without hassle, othertimes they'll say they only take cash and when you say that you'll have to abandon your order they suddenly take cards again, not sure what's going on with that but it's annoying at best and suspicious at worst. Overall I'd give them a 8/10, you probably won't find a better Chinese in the area.

We ordered a takeaway on Saturday night. This is our favourite Chinese and we always order from them. The customer service however is absolutely diabolical. They can’t make up their mind whether they take care payments and the huffing for asking questions is unreal. The food was delivered by a lovely delivery man but that was one of the only positives. The salt and pepper chips were hot but kind of still raw. They were sad and floppy. Think it’s time to try a new Chinese.

Leaving review on behalf of my husband: To begin with the lady who took the order had an issue with me paying by card over the phone, they were only wanting cash at the door. But more importantly I am really disappointed with all the food, the chowmein was completely flavour less, the curry sauce was like water and tasted only of cinnamon!? And The chips were chewy and dry. The only positive was that the delivery was quick! By far the worst Chinese I have ever had! Will stick to using Ka Ming from now on.

I am a lorry driver parked 4 mile away from new fung sing on the a380 wanting some food to be delivered to me at the truck they said no to coming out to me because they didn’t know who I was and because I am in a lay-by. I don’t think that is a very good service at all

Despite calling ahead I was kept waiting for 20mins. The portions were very generous but a tad bland.

Do NOT be put off by the price! This was absolutely beautiful food, and plenty of it. We have never had prawn toast better than this, and the roast pork foo yung was beautiful. 😋 Just wish we didn't live 150 miles away!

I placed my order for my family and was absolutely disgusted with the food that had turned up. My food was still frozen inside! I quickly called the restaurant and explained that my food was inedible to be passed on to a young gentleman that was compulsively rude on the phone. He showed little to no interested In resolving the situation. I was confronted by an I'll mannered gentleman that had no remorse for the mistakes made. Not only was my order frozen but it was wrong. I will NEVER order from this place again and I will not be recommending it. I have never had such a dissappointing experience ordering from a Chinese and I will be making a formal complaint to the papers. The staff had absolutley no idea how to rectify the situation and kept passing me on to different members of staff to try and tire out my comments about how the food was absolutely inedible. You've lost a customer that has ordered from you for years because of how bullying you were on the phone. You should be ashamed and disgusted with yourselves.

Really disappointed on the last 2 visits so won’t be going again. The chow main and rice were tasteless and like a watery soup, the prawns hadn’t been deveined so very gritty. Kept waiting ages, ordered veg and cashew nuts and a spring roll! Got: veg and nuts swimming in bland water! And little tiny vegetable rolls! Totally bland and inedible. Also ordered sweet n sour chicken balls and fried rice! Got: bland watery sweet n sour sauce! And rice with veg! Charged£26 asked for change which caused a dispute and still paid £23!!! So disappointed! Disgusting food, rude service. Never going there again!!!!

This was once a 5 star Chinese Takeaway. One of the best in UK I do not exaggerate. Since New owners has gone downhill. Claggy egg fried rice, overdone Kung PO Chicken burned batter possibly re cooked from earlier. Very little ingredients in the Singapore noodles. The worst bit was the aftermath, upset tummy and 5 visits to the toilet next day. Something is wrong here! Do not risk your health!

We ordered 2 meals,when they arrived,the chips were undercooked,the chicken was Really dreadful,and it cost £18...2 hours after eating this ,we were really ill,we both had extremely bad Diorrhea..I had to go to toilet 15 times from 8.30pm until 11am the next day,And I REALLY MEAN 15 times,NO EXAGERATION !! Fung sing used to be the best,Not any more !! There are plenty of takeaways in newton Abbot that will deliver,and charge less than fung sing !! Take some good advice...STEER CLEAR OF FUNG SING!!!!

Had a Chinese for the family meal. And I must say the food is awful they really need to up there game with the quality. All I can say I suffered sickness and dihorea after eating the takeaway. Please if you read this give yourself an opportunity to turn your takeaway around. I don't write bad reviews unless I have too.

The Chicken was very questionable in my “Special Curry”. Very cheap tasteless chicken which made me question the quality of all the meat used. Won’t be using again !! Premium prices for non premium meals. Used to be so much better than this.

Mixed sweet and sour balls ok, my singapore chow mein and beef satay ovaercooked soggy tasteless slop, inedible had to throw it inthe bin very angry, cookedmyself cheese on toast go to hoy shan no contest.

Having recently moved to live in this area this was our visit to a takeaway, we weren't too sure about ordering from here because of some bad reviews but as it is close to us we decided to spend some money and find out for ourselves. We could not believe the incredibly good food we received, first of all the telephone service was excellent bright and cheery and very helpful, we ordered a set meal for 2 we swapped one of the dishes for another no problem there and we understood that it would cost a little more and we waited with baited breath to see what sort of meal we would get. I can honestly say it was the best ever Chinese takeaway we have ever had, each dish was so fresh hot and expertly cooked, the rice dish alone was a meal in itself so much chopped meat and prawns it was delicious, and there is enough of each dish left for a second meal today, we have never done that before we have never liked a meal as much to do that. I hope the quality of their food and cooking continues because we will be regular customers if it does. Thankyou Fung Sing

Probably the worst Chinese we have had, was really looking forward to it and having waited an hour and 10 mins for it to turn up we found it was the most tasteless Chinese we have ever had. Will not be ordering again and definitely be going back to our normal china house as the flavours are amazing.

Just spent £30 on food to be told it doesn't come with prawn crackers (unlike every other Chinese in the area) and I had to buy them separately which wasn't a problem but then got told I couldn't purchase them due to having a minimum £20 spend to use a card. Totally ridiculous will definitely not be returning! Food was not worth the money either. Very disappointed!

Staying at finlake holiday resort and ordered for delivery food was amazing £1 extra per dish from what we normally pay but you get your money’s worth lots of meat and all great quality

Fung Sing is the best Chinese takeaway around, always superb and greeted by a smiley face every time I go in. I have used the takeaway for such a long time and have never had a disappointing meal.

Exelent Chinese takeaway very quick service

Wow they saw me coming. 50 quid for the worst experience of chinese cuisine ive ever has in my life. Think of the trainspotting toilet and honestly i bet if you lick it, it tastes better. I ordered 2 curries which looked like orange satay that someone threw 5 spice in. The tofu was watery and in a garlic sauce. I found 1 cube of diced garlic in there, maybe he ran out over Christmas. Im guessing the chef has anger management issues and my broccoli got it that day as honest to god he butchered it. Like it was finely chopped with a machete. The crispy Chicken had been fried in oil so old it looked like agolden retrievers ball bag. Even the prawn crackers were burnt. In short avoid this at all costs unlrss you like to vomit after eating or need assistance with your bulimia.

We've just moved locally and very happy to report that this is a great takeaway. Quick delivery (Sunday eve was 30 mins) hot food, tasty and better than most. Price was the same as quoted on their website. We had chicken balls (not greasy) chow mein (flavoursome) egg fried rice (nice and brown) and ribs (son said good). Our new go to.

This takeaway tuned away my £16 order as they have a policy not to accept card payments under £20. As shoppers continue to switch away from using cash, this take away is losing custom by putting barriers in the way of card use.

Well, me and my girlfriend thought we'd try a new Chinese in town. We thought Fung Sing would be a delightful option.Soooo ... we spent ten minutes choosing what we wanted, writing down our order, etc.We ring up ... bearing in mind this is 8:00pm on a SATURDAY evening ... only to be bluntly told, "We're not accepting anymore orders tonight." And that was that.Silly me, I could've sworn you were a CHINESE TAKEAWAY and that your whole purpose for being was to provide Chinese food to people.Well, that's just great. Wonderful. Stupendous. Thanks for that. Total waste of time and about as much a failure as Brexit.So in conclusion, I put this takeaway on par with a toaster that can't make bread go brown and hard.I think it's safe to say we won't be wasting our time with these clowns again.Thanks for nothing. Delicious.P.S. Mind you, given the extortionate price of the food, in hindsight, maybe we saved ourselves enough money for our next mortgage payment ...
