Lovely food slightly different style and portions compared to the West Midlands however, tasty and hot with good prices. Loads of meat in the chow mien 👍🏻

King prawn Cantonese style was awful. Lots of onions carrot and what tasted like tomato ketchup. Prawns were rubbery.

Ordered a takeaway for the conclusion of our family holiday, the first choice based on reviews was closed so decided to roll the dice on this one. 20 min drive to collect. Once we got back we opened the dishes and were immediately underwhelmed. Stale prawn crackers Kung po lacked any real flavour. Chow mein was clearly just noodles with other parts on top not cooked together or even mixed. Chicken and prawn balls were greasy and the batter was soggy Special fried rice was not special and bland Barbecue sauce was weak and oily Prawn toast appeared to be deep fried bread with some bland paste and no sesame seeds. I could go on.. We called them after throwing the food away to complain and were told that we needed to take the food back to them in the bin bag to get any form of refund. I would not recommend anyone to eat here.

The worst Chinese I have ever eaten! We placed a large order for our last night of our family holiday.. It's was completely inedible and it all went in the bin.. The Chicken was cheap and had a strange taste and texture. The food lacked taste, was oily, there was no part of the meal that tasted nice! The customer service was completely shocking, when we phoned to complain, we're told we we're lying! I would not recommend this Chinese or any dish!

Oh man, what a trip. I come from Weston super mare which isn’t exactly the home of food cuisine in England. This isn’t even Chinese food. I can’t in good conscience recommend this to anyone - every dish bar the rice and curry sauce (which were nice) were horrendous. 2* because they offered me a refund which I gladly appreciate but my whole family were in agreement, it was bordering inedible. Not a whisper of black bean in the black bean, just a sweet syrup, the chicken quality in the satay was something that tasted freezer burnt for years (with no peanut taste, just pure sweetness) and the chow mien seams like they thought that meant chop suey, but it tasted like really strong water (the only way I can describe it). My only advice to the team here is please try a Chinese in another town non-adjacent, to understand what Cantonese food should be like (in the UK of course, broad Chinese food is a varied from both). Even if it’s a bad one, it will be better. My mind is blown. Had to get an Indian it left such a bad taste in the mouth.

This is a take away. I have never had a chow mein where the noodles are on the bottom layer the beansprouts are on the next the carrot and lettuce next then chicken and a “gravy sauce” over the top. Neither have I had spring rolls Cantonese style which I was told contain meat and prawns that contained a minute amount of meat, no prawns that I could see and the majority (by 90 plus percent) of carrots!!

Very disappointed. The special fried rice was very average with dry chicken. The chow mein however was dire and tasted of just roasted carrots. Will not be coming again.

Hate to complain.infact I've never done this before.but ordered food because had before lovely food and good service.But we are struggling with the cost of living.however tonight we had a spare few quid so ordered food happy.got home and the order was completely wrong .so rang back hopping to correct it. Accident happened.i under this.but the owner denied all knowledge even lieing about CCTV.again I've never done this but 30 quid is alot to family when it's no what we ordered

Disappointed with the food. Chow Mein was tasteless, in a sauce that tasted like water, the noodles were like super noodles and generally not very nice. Wouldn't recommend.

Truly awful food. Chicken balls were soggy inside, chow mien and chop suey were tasteless, as were the barbequed ribs - the sauce they were in was like insipid pink water. We threw half the meal into the food bin - the banana skins in there would have been more edible. If I had been given this food in a sit in restaurant I would have refused to pay for it. Do not book a takeaway from this place. If I was allowed zero stars I would have given it that.

We ordered at the takeaway and in about 10 minutes we are able to have our food, the food stayed warm for a 5 minute walk and it tasted very fresh. the beef Chow Mein was alright but apart for that its an excellent takeaway and I recommend to anyone staying in Teignmouth.

Certainly the cheapest curry and other food in Teignmouth but it also means equal to any other curry house in town. Always good to phone your order to avoid a longish wait inside....necessary during this Covid19 nuisance. Tasty and fresh food at a very reasonable price. UPDATE: STILL a great value for your money. No increases in their food since last I reviewed 3 months ago, a pleasant change with just about everyone putting their prices up!!

Not a great meal most of it went in the bin! Avoid the salt and pepper wings totally un edible will never go back!

The best food ive had from a takeaway in a long time. I highly recommend the Cantonese sauce spare ribs the flavour will make you taste buds tingle. I will only ever use this place for our takeaway. Prices reflect the quality of the food they prepear and serve. Thank you Cantonese house. We will see you really soon

Really good food at a good price, this was our second visit and we weren't disappointed. There is a little wait for food, but we are happy with this as it is cooked fresh. Good portion sizes too!

Love their curry and chips but they are only small servings we still managed to split between 2, not too keen on their satay I really can't actually say it was satay it was red and watery no peanut or spice taste at all.

Special prawn curry and fried rice, beef in oyster sauce and boiled rice. Both hit the spot after a busy day. Ordering was simple, cards are accepted and the lady taking the order was polite. Quite a nice take away, worth a visit if you’re trying to decide where to eat

Just ordered a meal for 3 adults and two children and am a regular at the Cantonese House, but I just had to mention that for whatever reason the meal I had tonight was totally amazing, full of flavour, and great value for money.. I don't usually write reviews but I feel tonights food deserves a thumbs up and would recommend to all.. The only problem is I want to eat it all again. Thanks team I will be back.. Thanks

We’ve been in teignmouth a few years now and when we first came we tried every Chinese. Hung le was absolutely greasy and vile, we then stumbled along this little gem. By far the BEST in teignmouth, how anyone rates 1 star I’ll never know!! The staff are lovely and I have never had one bad meal! My favourite and will continue to go here.

My favorite Chinese takeaways!! Everything is fresh and can I recommend the satay! It's home made not from a tin can like most of these other takeaways! Old school cooking recipes I absolutely love it!!

It can be a real challenge finding authentic chinese takeaway food in this seaside town. Great quality, great taste and reasonably priced. You cant ask for better. You know a real Chinese takeaway when you see the whole chinese family working in the back (grandparents, parents and the kids!!). I really recommend the satay (not skewers but its incredible), sweet and sour Cantonese style and special chowmein! Thank you cantonese house!

Not great chinese at all. Possibly the worst. Don't even need to explain about the crispy duck. It was plain, dry and tasteless. The beef chow main so so watery and tasteless I had to cover with curry sauce just to get some flavour. Wont be going back as had to chuck most in the bin.

In all my 62 summer’s I have not tasted such a disappointing Chinese meal. I did ring to tell them of my disappointment, but they was not (or seem to me) interested. My meal was just a red blob of sauce, with tasteless chicken (I assume that it was chicken) I ordered dry ribs, what ever they sent was not what I expected it was deep fried and unrecognisable.. I would not recommend this establishment to my worst enemies, or on second thoughts maybe I would.

It's pretty okay in general I was just disgusted when ordering the Crispy duck as it was pretty much pure fat and 3 tiny bits of duck.

Brilliant Chinese the best in town. They are sadly closed for 3 weeks (isolating). Looking forward to seeing then up and running again.

Most people of the food was really nice, service was fast, but I was sick because the chop suey shrimp made me sick, it was disgusting and felt like rubber in my mouth, other than that it's pretty good

Many things not available on a Saturday night! And dishes that were available were not good! The chow mein (standard Chinese takeaway dish) was soggy and tasteless and special fried rice just tasted like burnt rice. Was charged for prawn crackers but none received. Not impressed at all

Food was quick. From there it went downhill. We had three different dishes and all were to be honest disgusting. Watery sauces. It was soggy and tasteless.

Didn't use for a long time due to a bad experience. Sadly still the same... crispy beef soggy. Beansprouts old and withered, generally bland or old taste. Never again.

It has been a long time since I got a take away from this restaurant due to a previous bad experience. It is still under the same ownership. Unfortunately on this day the two other Chinese takeaways were closed so was left with no choice but to try this one again. We really wish we hadn't. The bean sprouts were wilted mushy soft and old - very tired looking. The Aromatic Crispy Duck was very dry, tough, old and leathery. The pancakes were very dry and split as you tried to roll them. The cucumber was saggy, had obviously been cut days before. The whole meal in general was tasteless and felt well past it's best before date! They still only take cash after trading for so many years. Never again.

Got my order wrong. Didn't get any sauce on special fried rice or usual special fried rice toppings. Ordered crispy beef but instead recieved soggy beef.

Fancied something different so gave this a go and had a really nice meal. Ate as a family of 4 (one vegetarian) all needs catered for. Service was quick, efficient and friendly service. Dishes were really tasty and nice portion sizes. Would definitely return.

On our holiday in Holcombe, we noticed when we were in Teignmouth that there was a Chinese takeaway. We immediately noticed the 5* food hygiene rating and, as we can’t find a decent Chinese takeaway at home, we though we would give it a go. We ordered food on the telephone, to collect, and were immediately asked when we wanted to collect the food. When asked how soon it could be done, we were given a half an hour window. On collection, I went to pay the £28 by card, to be told they only accept cash, so I had to find a cash point to get the money out. However, when we got back to our cottage, we were not disappointed by the food. It was delicious, and surpassed our expectations. Friendly staff great meals for cheap

I have had takeaways from here for over 15 years and can honestly say I have never had a bad one! Food unlike lots of Chinese takeaways is never covered in fat. I highly recommend the beef Cantonese , special fried rice, salt and pepper ribs and Singapore noodles. 5 stars every time!!!

The prawns were over cooked the chicken was rubbery and the chow mein sauce was nothing prawn toast was dry as anything only good point is they were good noodles

It makes me think about my home HongKong,it is so YUMMY!!!!!!! The noodles,the rice,the fried dumpling......is so yummy. My most yummy and chinese food is Sweet And The Sour Pork Ribs.

Once again decided to have a takeaway from here during our annual holiday in the area. Must say I'm surprised by some of the negative reviews posted on here since our last visit - there were four in our group and none of us had any issues with any of our food. It was a good solid Chinese takeaway meal, so we'd recommend it to anyone wanting a Chinese in Teignmouth.

Debería haber conocido MEJOR! ! ! El Chow Mein era DISTGUSTING especial (el cerdo y el pollo no sabe como cerdo y pollo), el Curry de gambas estaba bien pero el arroz frito estaba Puaj. La buena noticia es la dulce y agria Langostinos en pasta salvó la noche! No se podrá ir de nuevo. . . . Como sabemos mejor. Por lo que nos dieron era muy caro. . . .

Me sorprendería que alguien en realidad era pollo.La salsa dulce y amarga era bonito, pero cobrando £2. 50 por arroz frito en la cima de la "pollo" era ridículo para la cantidad que nos dieron. Llevé a mi dulce y agria pollo y arroz frito de 8 libras. 40. La comida era comestible, aunque la mayoría de la carne fuimos a la basura.Nunca más. Hung le es mucho mejor.

As Chinese takeaways go this is your standard. It's quite nice but nothing special. Portion sizes are absolutely huge though so if you're feeding a family of 3/4 you only need a meal for 2 and we are BIG eaters.

Yo probé el pollo con brotes de bambú castañas de agua y huevo frito. arroz y pan de gambas. Todos muy agradables y buenas porciones de tamaño razonable. La señora que nos servía era agradable. Un sitio para aparcar cerca. Pide de nuevo si en la zona.

Venimos a Teignmouth una vez al año para nuestras vacaciones y se ha convertido en algo de una tradición para nosotros tener un chino llevar desde aquí en nuestro último día.

Went there with our family of four and were really unhappy with the food.:Two of us had Roast Duck with vegetables, another one with mushrooms and one "King Prawn Chow Mein" which contains noodles, prawns and some vegetables.All food was tasteless, there wasn't even salt or pepper in it, not to mention spice which really is an in important ingredient of Chinese food.The sauces were very gooey, actually even slimy and especially the noodles and the meat were soaked.But the real problem was that it wasn't even a cheap food - all in all we paid 32 pounds as the dishes without noodles don't even contain rice, so we paid 6 pounds for Roast Duck and vegetables and had to buy a portion of boiled rice seperately for everyone for 2,50 pounds which is ridiculous. Considering this price you would really expect quality food, but this wasn't. The service was really fast though, the salesroom looked clean and the ingredients of our dishes seemed fresh. Can't recommend it though because of the above reasons.
