In the basement below the take out bar, on a side road off London Wall, the queue for takeaways suggests that the food is good. Downstairs, a long rectangular bar, with sushi dishes on a conveyor belt. A few tables for four one side, and as they don't take reservations at lunch these are first come first served. You sit on high stools, with a water spout and glass in front of you, bottles of soy, ginger and wasabi neatly under the counter. The plates on the conveyor are colour coded, and range from vegetarian wakame rolls, to sashimi, to thinly sliced and spiced beef. There are Japanese puddings (rice and other) - and waitresses bring you drinks other than water, and clear away the covers placed on the plates on the conveyor to keep them fresh. Very good sushi, sashimi - better than Itsu, similar or slightly better than Wasabi. A cosy environment, fine for business but bear in mind you will have people sitting on either side of you... so perhaps not for sensitive conversations. Easy to be in and out in an hour, and eating well costs no more than £25 a head. I will return

Had takeaway on a weekend and the order was delivered within 30-40 mins just like it says on their page in Just-eat. They offer bigger portions those are worth the price. Main dishes are around £7-£9 But well worth the price. They serve s large portion of buttery edamame beans with sprinkled saw salt & that was the highlight for me today. I have tried their katsu curry and chicken teriyaki, And I am glad to say they lived up to my expectations! Miso soup was a little bit too salty. Also the packaging was impressive as well with a lovely bag printed with Sakura :) I would definitely order Japanese from K10 again. Thumbs up for food and service!

I am not sure if I've reviewed K10 before but if I have, it would have been a while ago. I love this place, from the friendly service to the excellent food. For a quick, tasty and healthy meal when one is alone, there is nowhere better. Thanks to the conveyor belt, one can be in and out in 15 minutes if one wishes. I love the salmon teriyaki, the prawn tempura, the tuna and unagi nigiri and the black cod. My only criticism: the layer of brulee on the creme brulee has become very thin and this spoils a dish which used to be near perfect. I have complained but been told that this is the way it's going to be!

K10 used to have a great lunch deal, which was good value for money, but it has increased its prices and is now terribly overpriced for what you get. I used to get a meal deal for 6.50 which included chicken teriyaki (half rice/half veg), a drink and edamame, but the meal deal now costs 6.95 plus an additional 1 pound for changing the rice to half rice/half veg. I've been to K10 twice, once to meet a friend for lunch and a second time with my 12-year old daughter (again, for lunch) after a visit to the Museum of London. I love the set-up and the sushi is exceptionally good, which is not terribly common with conveyor belt style service. When I visited with my daughter the staff was particularly attentive, which I can only chalk up to their being impressed with a young girl eating sashimi like a boss in a sea of suits. The atmosphere is upscale and this is reflected in the pricing, but so is the quality. It's a popular lunch venue and so you can expect a bit of a wait on arrival, but it is well worth it. Having your own water tap and condiment set-up is fantastic, but you will need to flag someone down for your bill and anything off the conveyer belt after you are initially seated—not an easy task given how busy it is (unless, of course, you are accompanied by a 12-year old).Highly recommended.

Hard to choose a favourite dish, but the salmon sashimi, eel nigiri and the beef carpaccio thing are up there. Staff are extremely good, the chefs will drop what they're doing behind the belt to make a quick request etc....What a great place. Its closest competitor is I suppose Yo Sushi, but it is so much better in terms of food quality and freshness. Above all , the staff there are just wonderful, friendly and super efficient. Always busy at lunchtime. If you're not there by midday, then there's usually a queue for a space. As it was on our last visit, but the front of house guy manages it excellently and get people sat in the right numbers very slickly. Sushi tends to be good in high turnover places - as it's fresh. It is borne out here, where it's excellent. The only grumble I'd have is the way they cube rather than slice the tuna - it can be a bit sinewy. Otherwise it's excellent. Salmon sashimi, BBQ eel sushi, and tempura squid real stand outs. Friendly staff, and the behind counter chefs are great to watch.

I have been a fan of K10 for years since I have been working in the City. Its a conveyor belt sushi restaurant but quality of the food makes this place stand out.Food: The Japanese cuisine is good here. Fresh, interesting variety, not just sushi or sashimi but also hot dishes and interesting takes on sushi. And you can always request what you want if you don't see it. I love the variety which floats by where you can see the dishes being offered vs just reading a description. You can also order things from a menu. I also like that its not just pure sushi or sashimi pieces, it is slices of sashimi with ponzu sauces and textured toppings, or with spicy Korean sauce or with a soy yuzu sauce. These sashimi style dishes you normally get from high end sushi restaurants, you can get in small tasting portions here. I also liked the cooked items such as the spicy fried calamari, perfect pan fried dumplings, and tempura crab or shrimp or veggies. They also have some nice looking desserts there but I never make it to dessert as I fill myself up trying all of their interesting dishes. Definitely a good variety, presentation and availability of the dishes you want, all made in front of you.Service: Quick service there. They do a great job turning around the tables and the wait (unless you come at 12.20!) is never too long. Waiters are friendly and get you whatever you need, but you rarely need to interact with them unless you need order something. That being said they are always around and accessible, they clear the dishes often so there isn't clutter in your seating area. They are always pleasant to deal with. The place relies on turnover at lunch but you go in knowing this and don't waste time by dawdling unnecessarily but that being said, I have never felt rushed and pressured to leave.Prices: This place isn't cheap and in fact its a bit pricey for an every day lunch. For one person I would pay about £25 for about 6 dishes to fill me up. (splitting the check here is easy, you pay what you ate) Ambiance: This is a bar set up and the seats are fairly close so probably not appropriate for a business meeting where being overheard is a concern. The place has a nice bustling vibe. There are self service water spouts at every table for still or sparkling water, and wasabi / soy sauce / ginger all sits in an embedded space in the bar so maximizes room for you to eat and accrue dishes with. Its a relaxed place for an enjoyable lunch.

It's very quick service and very reasonably priced. There is always a wye out the door for the takeaway and you have to get there at 12 for lunch which shows how good it is! Will definitely be returning many many times!

Went along with friends for lunch. Staff were welcoming. Food was nice but felt it was overpriced. The one big thing that would stop me returning though is the attitude of one of the waitresses. She was fine until it came to sorting the bill. It was delivered to our table then she just stood there. There were a few of us so we wanted to review the bill, this seem to frustrate her. A couple of us paid by card which prompted some eye rolling. She then went off to the till and said something to her colleague who then looked over. Totally unprofessional. It's a shame as all the other staff couldn't be faulted.

This has a quite nice place to sit, but mostly it's for a quick bite during lunch on a busy day in the city. Most of the food is edible, especially the teriyaki salmon, but the quality is really poor. The vegetables are barely cooked and not fresh as for the oil they're using... I'd suggest going behind the restaurant on Sun Street passage to have a smell... if that won't kill you... then why not sit at the restaurant itself... I give it more than one start simply because it is slightly better than the rest of the fast food around the area

This is partly a review of K10 in general, but also partly related specifically to the amazing one at 3 Appold Street behind Liverpool Street station. My boyfriend works in the City and finds any excuse to eat at this place (either Appold or Copthall). He finally dragged me along a few months back for a month-niversary dinner and it was completely dead in there due to it being evening time in the City. The staff was probably hoping no one would come in so they could close early, but they were unbelievably friendly. The gentleman whom I'm assuming to be the Manager (?) went above and beyond to make sure we had a wonderful night. The food all tasted incredibly fresh and I really liked the variety of both the food on the belt and the food we ordered off the menu. The tempura is light and wonderful, the sushi was fantastic, and the sashimi is dreamy. I swear they do something special to their seaweed salad, I like it better here than anywhere else. The incredibly helpful gentleman toasted us with a glass of champagne for our happy night out and also ensured we had a taxi home at the end of the night. Above and beyond indeed! My second visit to K10 was at Copthall and the food was equally awesome and staff was fine, but when we went back to the one on Appold Street yesterday, the same gentleman greeted us and said, "Welcome back! Same table?" and walked us to the same table we had had for our date night months ago. I was blown away. And we then proceeded to happily eat an excessive amount of food for two people. This place has become my go-to in the City for a nice lunch now too.

The £6.50 take away meal deal is good value for money and the dishes are pretty much all excellent with generous portions.Get there early if you want a sit down lunch though, it's filled up by 12.30. Sushi belt is ok, not the freshest sushi you'll ever have but the hot dishes are pretty good if a little expensive for the portion size.

What a fabulous place! Fresh sushi, very friendly service and the chicken Katsu puts wagamama to shame. The beef carpaccio is sensational and the yellow tail with corriander and chilli is great. Black Cod was 1/4 the price of Nobu and almost - not quite - as good. There are queues at lunch time but they tend to move quickly.

I went with a couple of friends for lunch last week. Upstairs is a small takeaway, but if you take the stairs down on the side from the takeaway, you reach a basement room with a conveyorbelt of sushi. I am always slightly concerned when I see a conveyor belt. It's not a fear of how long the dishes have been revolving around, or whether people sat on the stools around it have sneezed on it. It's the anxiety of the narrowness of the space you get to eat right next to the conveyor. I always feel like I may accidentally knock over a dish and by some knock on effect, several of these will end up on the floor. I think Yosushi started this concept in London a couple of decades ago. In those days I had little money, and I would check the colour of the plate to see what I could afford to eat. Last week, the three of us were fortunate to find the bend in the conveyor so we could sit in a row and still face each other. We decided to share some of the dishes. Everything was wonderful, all the sushi tasted fresh. The sliced fillet of beef in ginger sauce melted in the mouth and we must have picked up at least 4 of those dishes as they came around, unable to let one pass. Supplement your dishes with the hot food from the menu - we tried baby squid and tempura prawns which were both crispy and delicious. In order to keep the food fresh and moving in the kitchen, the chefs send out little trays of freshly fried fish, chicken etc, we tried a couple of these and each was full of flavour and very very fresh tasting.I will definitely be visiting this conveyor belt again soon.

The staff are friendly and efficient mostly with a smile. The place has a belt where you can help yourself. The hot places are delicious, especially the soft shell crab and gyoza. The sashimi was good but not the best. All the other sushi was very tasty. It was easy to get the attention of a waiter/waitress and responded with a smile. The host was very attentive and happy which was great. The restaurant was very busy but I could still have a normal conversation with my friend without saying I could not hear or raising my voice. The seating is mostly a bar around the food belt but you had enough space.I really enjoyed my meal her and was a great treat.Although the price was a bit high and wouldn't be able to go there often.

In New York, we are spoiled for choice and quality when it comes to sushi (e.g. Yama's). Naturally I had been continually disappointed by the likes of Itsu, Wasabi, and Yo! with their heavily disguised/flavoured unfresh tuna and salmon, in meager portions. E.g., it takes five slivers of wasabi packets at Itsu--obtained by begging--to work up to a usable portion. So K10 proved to be quite the revelation. Hamachi. Scallops. Generous wasabi. All 100% fresh. Go there now, you deserve it!

When you enter this place it is like a hundred other take-out sushi places in London. But then you push past the people queuing for their plastic boxes, go down the stairs and behold the vast underground complex which is K10.You'll have to queue unless you get there well before 12.00, but the wait is never very long. And when you sit down, the gratification is instant, because this is conveyor belt Japanese at its very, very best.I must have eaten here now 20, maybe 30 times. One duff dish so far in all those visits, changed without fuss, which I think is a pretty good average. The food is simply stunning. I'm lucky enough to have eaten in some very fancy Japanese restaurants, and although they might have the fancy decor (Roka) few better the food in this place.I've taken a couple of dozen friends and colleagues, without exception they've all been gobsmacked by the place. The seared tuna is a real treat, as is the seared beef, the tempura prawns. Chili squid is to die for, yellow fin a real treat and the black cod should cost five times as much.If you dont do booze you will struggle to go more than £25 a head, and believe me I've tried, frequently.Complaints? They used to do a divine tiramasu in an expresso cup - tiny but flavousome and perfectly formed. But sadly it is no longer offered, although the three chocolate mouse is a reasonable substtute. And did I mention that the staff are cheerful, friendly and generally faultless? Now I just need you to look at this small metal cylinder in my hand and - whoosh - you wont remember any of this and I can keep K10 for me and my friends.....

Always good, (always busy too!) it doesn't fail to dliver with its basic but effective concept of great sushi served fresh, fast and well. The price isn't steep for the quality either. Don't expect to linger too long but thats a smal price to pay for the experience.

Interior has improved since the last visit which looked more like a converted pizza restaurant and now Looks like a restaurant with a large bar. Spacious interior with well spaced tables. Has the Tokyo roll- was good. The duck main was good but has to order an additional portion of rice. Service was good. Gin and tonics was well priced.

Had a craving for sushi somewhere in-between the high high end and Yo Sushi and chanced upon this place. Intending to do a lunch walk in for a la carte or one of their set menus, I was instead offered their Omakase menu only which is usually available via prior reservation only, more courses and of course, more expensive. The sitting was only half full so not sure why a la carte etc wasn't available. The edamame, dessert and miso were forgettable and barely deserving to make up three of the 11 courses (dessert was a scoop of ice cream) and the fish itself was good, prepared in front of you as you'd expect. It wasn't clear that the fish was "dry aged" so the flavours of classics were unique if familiar. The atmosphere was casual at lunch - this isn't pretentious although they still seem to be ironing out some kinks with the service - e.g some things were explained to one end of the counter and not the other. In addition to the lack of an a la option as suggested on their website (or set menus as featured in other reviews), the lunch Omakase is cheaper than on their website, which I only noticed after the fact as the so called encore sushi of your choice promised on the website was not offered so I double checked to ensure I had not misread. Overall a decent experience but some consistency in marketing/expectations management needed.
