First and foremost, they are friendly and I appreciate that! Customer service 10/10, I recommend! Everything is always fresh and reasonably priced. I’ve gotten crabs and salmon steak from them. I order hot food recently for the first time and it was all yummy! Definitely go support! PS they always have a capital on crabs, which is a plus!🤌🏼

I went on a cold rainy day so as expected there wasn’t much to see or do, the seafood does look pretty good and even with the bad weather there were plenty of customers. I wish they had a little tarp or sort of shelter so customers could eat there even on rainy days. The seasoning they offer is cajun and its a bit spicy. I also love that they give you cocktail sauce with the shrimp. Delicious! Also, beware of parking. The guys that walk around charging for parking will charge you more than what you pay at the garage.

The fish market is located on the northern end of the Wharf in DC. It is quite an interesting place since the stalls are all boats. The fresh seafood is located on one side and the cooked seafood on the other. It looks like you are able to buy fresh seafood and get it cooked on the other side. There is also another food place at the far end of the wharf. We were wanting to try the crab but trying to hammer crab in the cold was something we were concerned about. You are only able to get crabs by weight.

This area has changed a lot. It has been upgraded for tourist and that's nice in many ways. The fish market was excellent. However I do miss the fact that they would have had competition in the years gone by. But again the fish and products they have were really really good and excellent service. The prices were pretty .

So nice I had to get the oysters twice. Fresh seafood market right on the water. The crabcake sandwich was surprisingly large and super flavorful. It was a bit pricey honestly but not surprising with the location. There are tall tables in the middle for you to stand/eat.

The fishermen were super kind and efficient getting everyone their seafood. You can get raw or cooked seafood as well! Def check them out.

Seafood+ non seafood lovers, this place is for you. They have what you see at the buffet. The only difference is that it's fresh off the water and the price. If you want the freshest fish, crabs, crab legs, shrimps, etc... This might be the place for you. Ps. Parking is charged by the hour on the spot, or you can find parking on the streets(spaces may or may not be hard to find). ✌️✌🏾✌🏽

I needed to have some crab and oysters while back in the city. Taylors delivered both. Somewhat sad to see that they are the only fishmongers left on Maine Avenue.

Quite a good food market experience which pretty to an Asian setting. Softcrab and raw clams are ready good. The clam soup doesn't have any meat.

After an evening walk-through, as the stalls were cleaning up and shutting down shop, I had set my heart on soup the next day. Although it was only 10:30 in the morning, so kindly, they brought out the soups so we could have a small, hot bowl as we strolled back along the Wharf. The Maryland Crab soup was a fantastic brunch, just as I suspected! That place is awesome and the folks working there are great!

Monopoly makes this place a tourist scam. When I moved to DC area many years ago, this place was just a pure finish market and we liked to buy Maryland blue crab here for 3 -4 times per year. There were some different merchants sell crabs and we can choose the one with best quality and price. But now things are changed. This place has only one merchant sell crab, so they didn't care the quality of crab anymore. Last Saturday I went there and find they display their female crabs are meaty and full with roe. So I purchased half dozen. However when I am back home after 35 mins, 2 crabs already dead and all six crab are almost empty with no much meat and roe. This merchant also sell fish but they don't remind you if they provide cleaning service. I bought one fish but I found it is with scales on it. I can bought the same fresh fish at Wegmans with less price and cleaning service. To sum up, this place is no longer a real fish market any more but just a tourist scam. I am so sorry DC area residents lose this place to purchase the high quality blue crab.

This is a really great fish market. They multiple stalls on floating barges, selling a plethora of different kinds of seafood. I think it’s really interesting seeing all the different kinds of fish and shellfish available for sale. The fish is very fresh and the fact that the majority of it is floating is really cool.

Worth seeing even without eating anything because there are all kinds of things from the sea there, especially crabs 🦀 I've never eaten the animals and don't know how. So there was only one soup, but it was also very good. Fair price

It was great! So many types of fresh fish, crabs, shrimp and more. Friendly staff and fair prices, but $7 for a medium lemonade tea is a little pricey. Huge oysters and sweet crab. They have tall tables for you to eat from, but no chairs or shade. Grounds could have been cleaner and there was a strong fish smell.

Perfect place for fresh seafood

Curious place to go to, to change a little from American food. You can eat right there, they sell it to you cooked or they cook it for you on the spot. The issue is that the weather is with you and that it doesn't get too hot or rain. It is outdoors.

Delicious food, the bad thing is that the plates fell on the floor, they picked them up and continued using them as if nothing had happened.

Came here to the Municipal Fish Market at The Wharf — AKA the DC Fish market, on Saturday afternoon. First time here. There’s short term parking right outside for $8 for half an hour, which is crazy expensive, don’t do that. I talked to the guy outside, he said there’s a parking garage in two traffic lights for the Wharf where they validate parking, and it’s ends up being $2, a lot cheaper. Thanked him and went straight, and then took a right at the sign (see attached photo). The garage rates say $6 for an hour, but ignore that price as that is w/o validation. Went inside and parked in a fuel efficient only / low emission spot, because I drive an EV which does not even take fuel, so it seemed to check all the boxes. Anyway you can walk and take the elevator where the sign says it goes up to The Fish Market at Wharf. There once you are done with shopping, the person sitting behind a desk will validate your parking, and it will be $2 for a max limit of an hour. So, don’t dally too long. I have also included photos of the fresh fish they have. They have a wide selection and most seem decently priced. Be aware that lot of fish such as Mackerel seem to be boned, but boneless is only available as filets which is on the right side, near shrimp and crab section. These are not shown in the photos, but the filets are at the bottom shelf, easy to miss if you are just skimming it. I ended up getting the rainbow trout and sockeye salmon filets after much deliberation. They were pretty decently priced. I think around $9/LB for the trout and $23/LB for the salmon, or something like that. I got 0.7 LB of the trout and 0.9 LB of the salmon, for a little under $30. Not too shabby. So anyway, I got the fish and checked out w/ Apple Pay. I made sure they packed ice and double wrapped it, as I was driving an hour back home. I will adjust the rating once I try the fish and taste it. As it is, I’m rating down due to a little confusion on my part, trouble deciding, and also the parking which was a stressful factor and which was not free. Street parking was free and was suggested, but the one right outside the Wharf is illegal parking and tickets can be given. So overall for my first time experience at the Wharf, $2 for parking w/ validation is not bad, however as mentioned rating down due to stress involved, and will adjust review once I have tasted the fish (filets) that I got.

The crab legs were DELICIOUS and cheaper than a dinner for 4 at a seafood restaurant. Plus: everything was FRESH! We'll definitely be back!

My first time and Im really not a fan. Its as if they assume everyone is familiar with the place and prices etc. The price list for the crabs was not clear. I bought a lot of shrimp for myself which were fresh and yummy but my kid who never tried crabs before and seeing them all there asked to try. They young guy we were ordering from asked his superior or father if he could sell is a small amount( which I dont see an issue as it is weigh the items)and he said no. We asked for the smallest amount and to my surprise we were handed a paperbag full of crabs with no tools to open them and a few napkins. (Also the seasoning was so salt it could give u a stroke). We had just left or stay to explore the neighborhood but with nowhere to eat we ended up having to go back home and I put the crabs in two big pots after washing off the seasoning. Safe to say the time it took ruined my day. I will not be buying crabs again.

Great place to get great fresh seafood

This review is for the fish cleaning area. I love the variety of the fish sold, but the fish cleaning line is SUPER SLOW. I was in line for 30 minutes to have 1 fish cleaned. I was number 3 in line and there was only 1 person working. A second person came but was standing around. They ask for tips but no one acknowledges your presence or the fact that you've been waiting so long. REALLY hope they get more cleaners or provide another fish cleaning/fillet option at the wharf.

Service is unorganized. Some of the workers were friendly and helpful. Parking is not the best.

The best banana Whippy in Cornwall!!! I had the pleasure of trying a Whippy with banana sauce today, and it was absolutely delicious! The ice cream was perfectly creamy, and the banana sauce was the best ever sauce I’ve had on an icecream. There are so many flavours to choose from at this lovely shop compared to other icecream shops in St Ives. What made the experience even better was the friendly and helpful staff. They were very efficient and I was served quickly at a very busy time. Highly recommend visiting for a fantastic ice cream experience! can’t wait to come back to try a conut!!

The crab legs was very delicious. They steamed it for free and season it just right.

This is a very good spot for seafood lovers. The fried fish is tasty and abundant. Highly recommended. Very close to Washington monument and cherry blossom trees. Accesible parking and very convenient space to eat in the tables in the center. You will have to be prepared to eat standing because there are not chairs, only tall tables, but it’s comfortable enough. We ate with our kids and they really loved it, the salad and French fries were very flavored too. If you want to have a nice experience before or after walking in the area this is the place.

Price is reasonable, but the quality of seafood is not as fresh as they advertised. They provide cleaning service with tips, and the line sometimes can be quite long.

This place is good for young and old. Their is food type for all, vegetarian. Seafood or beef lovers. Beer and wine locations, nice restaurant owners and staff. Water area for kids to play. He loved it.

I wanted a slushy. The lad that served me was a proper Clenchpoop…. Just so you don’t have to look that up it means uncultured and ill mannered person. The cup was basically half full. And £4.50 for a small sheep that is absolutely shameful scammers. Never ever ever returned. 😡😡😡 The photo of a bin indicates where the slush ended

Decent prices for mostly fresh fish

Loved this spot when I visited years ago. Was well worth a visit, even if you were just a tourist. Some ready to eat food also. Unfortunately it has since been gentrified and I won't return and can no longer recommend. Very expensive, low quality, and lost the charm.

If they tell you 15 mins it's going to be 40. That's the only negative, high quality fish, seafood...food from the SEA. It's a good experience with prices comparable to whole foods.

A few fish are suitably priced (catfish for around $3-4/lb, ling $4/lb) and there is variety with many types of fish, shrimp, crabs, clams, and oysters. Cooked shrimp and raw oysters to eat are there. But in reality, most of the fish is overpriced compared to the supermarket and the chowders are both overpriced and the Maryland crab soup was lacking flavor and crab meat (see photos). This was the first time I have eaten Maryland crab soup. It was a tomato and broth soup with vegetables including chunks of potato. However, the overpowering flavor was that of green bell pepper. I couldn't taste any seafood in it and the crab meat was tiny strands (see photo). This was significantly different from the recipes I found online afterward for comparison. Parking is also very expensive. The boardwalk is OK, lined with higher-end restaurants, boats, and boat tours (don't be fooled by the fake paddle wheel boats whose paddles don't actually touch the water). Overall, below average tourist trap and skip the soup.

You will not find fresh seafood at a better price. I spent $130 and fed 5 people 2 1/2 days..

Got this Butterfish which was really fresh and tasted so good.

Really good food and I think at a great price! We got the crab cake sandwich and sweet potato fries, with the coleslaw and we got the fried fish. It was all really good and they give you a really good amount. Definitely recommend anybody trying the food!
