Really enjoyed our visit to the junction inn. Food as amazing and it was so lovely to sit in the window and watch the boats (and ducks) My partner had gammon and is super fussy about his eggs but these were perfect. I had hunters chicken which was the best l've had. Very relaxed feel and pleasant service. A nice little find for a date night.

We regularly use this pub for drinks. On this occasion we decided to give the meals a try. We placed our order at 5.45pm and were told there was a 30 minute wait. After waiting for over an hour our food had still not arrived and we noticed people who had ordered after us were getting theirs. We suspected our order had gone missing and we were considering leaving when the waitress then informed us 'we were next'. The food eventually arrived at 7.05 pm, 1 hour and 20 minutes after ordering. I had the gammon at £14.95 which was nice but my wife had the steak pie at £16.95 which was dreadful, the pie had obviously been microwaved making the flaky pastry a soggy mess. Consequently my wife left almost all of her meal. We shall not be going there again!

We had a lunch there today ( 31/08/24 ) and sat at a table overlooking the canal which was very pleasant. The service was good but some of the staff appeared to be unwelcoming and despondent. Can't speak highley enough of the Food or the Staff. Such a friendly lot and the food was stunning. Plenty of it and such great flavour. I have never seen so much steak in a steak pie, all beautiful tasty pieces of steak and no mush at all. Everything beautifully cooked. This all scores 11 out of 10. Make this your next outing, it's also in a beautiful spot by the canal.

We had a lovely welcome and we're shown to a table in the window, overlooking the canal. We had two menus, the Sunday carvery or the nain menu. We decided on carvery. There were 4 joints, beef, pork, turkey & gammon or mix & match. I had the turkey & pork. I was rewarded with 3 thick slices of meat. My friend had beef & pork. There were plenty of veg, carrots, peas, leeks, cabbage, parsnips, roasted root veg and roasted Mediterranean veg. Mash and roast potatoes, disappointingly frozen ones. The meal was excellant and the meats very tender. We managed most of it, but wanted room for pudding. I had spotted dick and Custard, my friend had sticky toffee with ice cream, there were also 4 more desserts. We thoroughly enjoyed our meals and sat there for a couple of hours after watching the boats and catching up. The staff were really friendly and we look forward to returning.

We hired a boat for the day from Norbury Wharf as wedding anniversary experience for ourselves. The Junction Inn looked the perfect spot to go to afterwards for a meal with the view of the Wharf and the canal boats. It was our first visit here. We arrived quite early at 4.45pm (with food being served from 5.30pm) but that wasn't a problem. Tilly made us welcome. She was warm, friendly and chatty. My wife is Gluten Free and there was a reasonable choice of GF dishes available. Sometimes restaurants, especially in this rural setting, can be awkward about GF but that wasn't the case here. My wife felt welcomed and not made to feel a bother. The prices for the meals were reasonable and the service was quick. I can recommend the lamb and mint pie which comes from a local butcher. It was really good. We both had the sticky toffee pudding which was excellent and a big portion. So, all in all, a great place to celebrate our 32nd Anniversary! We would certainly go back again

Just returned from a lovely Sunday lunch at the junction pub at Norbury we booked the day before and asked for a table in the bar as we had the dogs with us We were given a corner table and the dogs were provided with a bowl of fresh water which was a nice touch Started with the spicy tomato soup which again was very tasty followed by the junction famous carvery all served with a friendly smile What I really like about the junction is it caters for everyone they have a lovely restaurant where dogs aren’t allowed and the bar area where they are. The carvery is excellent quality and reasonably priced but what really makes it is the staff Special mention to Pat and the young chef that made the spicy tomato soup ! PS combine your lunch with a walk along the canal well worth it

No view of the canal, in the back room that is more like a hospital cafe. OK, the COVID issues have forced one way system and nobody allowed to sit overlooking the canal in the lounge. That said, no nice atmosphere in that back room. Chips were nice, pint of cider and coffee for over £11.00, expensive. With a great view from the lounge this would have been ok. The location of this pub is stunning, over looking a busy boatyard where boats are coming and going all the time. We called in to the Junction Inn for a quick light lunch. We chose from the light bite lunch menu, £6.95. We like a good sausage and chose sausage eggs and chips, and a sausage baguette. Frankly, these were the most awful, cheap, sausages we've had for many years. And the chips were like cardboard oven chips. Most pubs now serve a good quality artisan sausage, and these were probably Tesco Value sausages. Instead of buying in such poor sausages for less than 10p each, why not invest say 25p each for a good quality sausage? At £6.95 for sausage, egg and chips, surely there would still be at least £5 profit to provide 3 good quality sausages, 2 eggs and a few good quality chips. Providing such poor quality food is just false economy, and creates such a poor impression for a pub that has great potential, being situated next to a busy canal basin. At least the fried eggs were good and runny, and the beer was ok.

We ordered two meals and were told it was half hour wait which was a surprise as it was not that busy and there were lots of empty tables inside and outside. The food took fifty minutes to arrive and was decent food to eat. Drinks were nice and staff were friendly. The downside was the slow service and an awful smell in the outside eating area or raw sewage. On investigating this there was a septic tank overflowing it's contents near the outside eating area. Disgusting for an eating establishment.

Having been a loyal and usually impressed customer I was very unimpressed by my visit this Easter Sunday. I decided ( maybe foolishly) not to pre book a table for a Sunday carvery as I planned for my wife and I to eat outside due to the very warm Easter weather. We turned up and found a good outdoor seat. Having done this I proceeded to order our lunches to be told unless I had booked a table I could only order food from the main menu and that there would be a 60 minute wait. Having decided it was too late to make alternative arrangements I conceded to this fate. However after 20 minutes into the wait another couple came an sat on the table next to us . After the man had come back from ordering his food I overheard him say he was given a choice of waiting 60 minutes for food off the main menu OR ..... they could have a carvery ! Imagine my annoyance of watching this couple enjoy a marvellous Sunday lunch while we endure another 20 minutes of waiting for something we never really wanted in the first place. I can only put this down to bad management/ communication within the inn . I hope this serves as a warning or at least a caution to any first time visitors to this other wise wonderful place.

We went here as been recommended to me on a number of occasions. However I ordered Carlsberg which was flat I returned it and it was replaced again it was flat but I didn't return it. We ordered steaks when they came out they were served on cold plates so i ate the steak first which as you can imagine went cold quick so I left the chips as they were stone cold. My daughter ordered a sweet asking for cream which when it arrived came with ice cream. I ordered a sweet which I don't do usually but fancied Apple pie but when this came it was cold in the middle custard came separate and was cool. I asked if this could be warmed up when it came back the pie was just splattered on the plate and the custard thrown over it at this point I complained... the annoying part was I was dealt with by the deputy manager ... the manager who was present obviously couldn't be bothered. I don't complain but felt this review was needed. Will not be going back here for food again.

A huge choice of meat and veg for the carvery, all fresh and hand peeled and chopped. The leek with bacon pieces was especially nice and very unusual. The root veg was boiled or roasted with plenty of sauces and gravy of a good consistency. We didn’t have puddings as we were too full but could see that the puddings were home made too, just like pub grub should be. We had a nice meal in the restaurant but, unfortunately, I left something of sentimental value there. I called the next day to ask if it had been found and was told it hadn't but they took my number and said they would let me know. I didn't receive a call, so I sent them a message on Facebook Messenger a few days later, to which i received a reply asking when I left it, and saying that they would contact me if found. Fortunately, a family member was in the vicinity the next week and called in, and it was there. I posted on their Facebook page to say that I was disappointed that they hadn't contacted me even though I had contacted them twice, and it had upset me greatly to think that i had lost it. I then received a torrent of trolling and abuse from, I assume, locals, one even telling me that I am a c@@t. Still no acknowledgement from the pub, and vile behaviour from their FB followers. I have given 1 star for service because of this.

Would have got 5 stars, but the guy who showed us the boat was grouchy and treated us like a bunch of kids. We're mature professional people in our 40's. Otherwise, the service was lovely both on the phone and when booking in.

Well, I have tried my best to do so. I visit whenever a friend of mine is travelling this way on his narrow boat, and many times in between. The food is good honest pub food. The pies are particularly good and a good size. They will do half a pie for those less hungry. The fishcakes too are good. All in all a good local pub, decent beer/wine a bit lacking in atmosphere at times it has to be said. But that's true of most local pubs of today. I will continue to visit.

Programmed to stop overnight at Norbury Junction on our canalboat trip up the Shropshire. Eaten there a few years previous and the return was worth it. Arrived too late for Sunday carvery but the Steak and Ale pie filled me up. Enormous pie, totally encrusted in pastry, as opposed to a bowl and crust, full of well seasoned beef with tasty chips. Wife had Hunters Chicken, delightful. Staff most helpful and attentive with a welcome atmosphere. Will visit again, soon.

We have visited the Junction Inn several times in the past 2 weeks as we have been staying nearby. It's a great pub with friendly atmosphere and we were welcomed by the staff and the locals. It's dog friendly in the bar which is great. The food is excellent, great pies, steaks, burgers and on Sundays they do a wonderful roast carvery. Wine is good too! Thursday nights you can get 2 meals off the specials board and a bottle of wine for £25. Great value.

I visited The Junction Inn today with my family, we all decided to go for the carvery and the right decision it was. The meat was tender I myself had the rare beef and the pork and both were cooked to perfection, the vegetables were fresh and hot (not something you find on many carverys). The staff were all friendly and efficient. So if your looking for good homecooked food served with a smile then i would highly recomend The Junction Inn

Well. What can one say. Very poor quality of food, and service. If the food makes me ill, I'll be writing another review.

The food and welcome at the Junction Inn is always great. The pies legendary. We arrived by boat after last food orders and really appreciated the massive bowls of cheesy chips!

Had a burger, and the burger sauce was a little shy, but our server Josh was great! Very friendly and attentive but not in a weird way. I think the decor needs a little overhaul as it’s looking slightly tired, but generally a good mid-week meal out.
