We hired a boat for the day from Norbury Wharf as wedding anniversary experience for ourselves. The Junction Inn looked the perfect spot to go to afterwards for a meal with the view of the Wharf and the canal boats. It was our first visit here. We arrived quite early at 4.45pm (with food being served from 5.30pm) but that wasn't a problem. Tilly made us welcome. She was warm, friendly and chatty. My wife is Gluten Free and there was a reasonable choice of GF dishes available. Sometimes restaurants, especially in this rural setting, can be awkward about GF but that wasn't the case here. My wife felt welcomed and not made to feel a bother. The prices for the meals were reasonable and the service was quick. I can recommend the lamb and mint pie which comes from a local butcher. It was really good. We both had the sticky toffee pudding which was excellent and a big portion. So, all in all, a great place to celebrate our 32nd Anniversary! We would certainly go back again

We had a lovely welcome and we're shown to a table in the window, overlooking the canal. We had two menus, the Sunday carvery or the nain menu. We decided on carvery. There were 4 joints, beef, pork, turkey & gammon or mix & match. I had the turkey & pork. I was rewarded with 3 thick slices of meat. My friend had beef & pork. There were plenty of veg, carrots, peas, leeks, cabbage, parsnips, roasted root veg and roasted Mediterranean veg. Mash and roast potatoes, disappointingly frozen ones. The meal was excellant and the meats very tender. We managed most of it, but wanted room for pudding. I had spotted dick and Custard, my friend had sticky toffee with ice cream, there were also 4 more desserts. We thoroughly enjoyed our meals and sat there for a couple of hours after watching the boats and catching up. The staff were really friendly and we look forward to returning.

Just returned from a lovely Sunday lunch at the junction pub at Norbury we booked the day before and asked for a table in the bar as we had the dogs with us We were given a corner table and the dogs were provided with a bowl of fresh water which was a nice touch Started with the spicy tomato soup which again was very tasty followed by the junction famous carvery all served with a friendly smile What I really like about the junction is it caters for everyone they have a lovely restaurant where dogs aren’t allowed and the bar area where they are. The carvery is excellent quality and reasonably priced but what really makes it is the staff Special mention to Pat and the young chef that made the spicy tomato soup ! PS combine your lunch with a walk along the canal well worth it

That said, no nice atmosphere in that back room. Chips were nice, pint of cider and coffee for over £11.00, expensive. With a great view from the lounge this would have been ok. We called in to the Junction Inn for a quick light lunch. We chose from the light bite lunch menu, £6.95. We like a good sausage and chose sausage eggs and chips, and a sausage baguette. Frankly, these were the most awful, cheap, sausages we've had for many years. And the chips were like cardboard oven chips. Most pubs now serve a good quality artisan sausage, and these were probably Tesco Value sausages. Instead of buying in such poor sausages for less than 10p each, why not invest say 25p each for a good quality sausage? At £6.95 for sausage, egg and chips, surely there would still be at least £5 profit to provide 3 good quality sausages, 2 eggs and a few good quality chips. Providing such poor quality food is just false economy, and creates such a poor impression for a pub that has great potential, being situated next to a busy canal basin. At least the fried eggs were good and runny, and the beer was ok.

We ordered two meals and were told it was half hour wait which was a surprise as it was not that busy and there were lots of empty tables inside and outside. The food took fifty minutes to arrive and was decent food to eat. Drinks were nice and staff were friendly. The downside was the slow service and an awful smell in the outside eating area or raw sewage. On investigating this there was a septic tank overflowing it's contents near the outside eating area. Having been a loyal and usually impressed customer I was very unimpressed by my visit this Easter Sunday. I decided ( maybe foolishly) not to pre book a table for a Sunday carvery as I planned for my wife and I to eat outside due to the very warm Easter weather. We turned up and found a good outdoor seat. Having done this I proceeded to order our lunches to be told unless I had booked a table I could only order food from the main menu and that there would be a 60 minute wait. Having decided it was too late to make alternative arrangements I conceded to this fate. However after 20 minutes into the wait another couple came an sat on the table next to us . After the man had come back from ordering his food I overheard him say he was given a choice of waiting 60 minutes for food off the main menu OR ..... they could have a carvery ! Imagine my annoyance of watching this couple enjoy a marvellous Sunday lunch while we endure another 20 minutes of waiting for something we never really wanted in the first place. I can only put this down to bad management/ communication within the inn . I hope this serves as a warning or at least a caution to any first time visitors to this other wise wonderful place.

My daughter ordered a sweet asking for cream which when it arrived came with ice cream. I asked if this could be warmed up when it came back the pie was just splattered on the plate and the custard thrown over it at this point I complained... the annoying part was I was dealt with by the deputy manager ... the manager who was present obviously couldn't be bothered. We had a nice meal in the restaurant but, unfortunately, I left something of sentimental value there. I called the next day to ask if it had been found and was told it hadn't but they took my number and said they would let me know. I didn't receive a call, so I sent them a message on Facebook Messenger a few days later, to which i received a reply asking when I left it, and saying that they would contact me if found. Fortunately, a family member was in the vicinity the next week and called in, and it was there. I posted on their Facebook page to say that I was disappointed that they hadn't contacted me even though I had contacted them twice, and it had upset me greatly to think that i had lost it. I then received a torrent of trolling and abuse from, I assume, locals, one even telling me that I am a c@@t. Still no acknowledgement from the pub, and vile behaviour from their FB followers. I have given 1 star for service because of this.

We have visited the Junction Inn several times in the past 2 weeks as we have been staying nearby. It's a great pub with friendly atmosphere and we were welcomed by the staff and the locals. It's dog friendly in the bar which is great. The food is excellent, great pies, steaks, burgers and on Sundays they do a wonderful roast carvery. Wine is good too! Thursday nights you can get 2 meals off the specials board and a bottle of wine for £25. Great value.

I visited The Junction Inn today with my family, we all decided to go for the carvery and the right decision it was. The meat was tender I myself had the rare beef and the pork and both were cooked to perfection, the vegetables were fresh and hot (not something you find on many carverys). The staff were all friendly and efficient. So if your looking for good homecooked food served with a smile then i would highly recomend The Junction Inn

Well. What can one say. Very poor quality of food, and service. If the food makes me ill, I'll be writing another review.

The food and welcome at the Junction Inn is always great. The pies legendary. We arrived by boat after last food orders and really appreciated the massive bowls of cheesy chips!

Have been going here for past 10 years, we were there today to watch 2nd half of match as we had been on day trip on canal. 4 of us had bought drinks, 4 hadn’t, 2 of us had a drink of our own, landlady asked us to leave, was getting bags together, then she said we were taking the piss and told us to f—- won’t be going there. again , have never made us welcome anyway

We have been a few times for drinks and twice for food. Both times the food hasn’t been good. My boyfriend ordered the buttermilk chicken burger and was served chicken bites when the staff were told we were offered a £2 refund as we wasn’t told that the kitchen had ran out of burgers. I had loaded potato skins that were dry and was probably cooked earlier then microwaved. We ordered for the food to be served all at the same time and received dessert then a few minutes later starters then the ‘burger’. As I said the setting is beautiful and the drinks are good but the food is cheap and not worth the price. If you arrive in the day go across the cable to the cafe as the food is better there. The ice cream is good but the fudge cake was microwaved too much. The staff didn’t check on us and we weren’t offered sauces or cutlery except for the pudding.

Today we took my mother in law Amy on a trip to Norbury junction,so peaceful and relaxing. We had a meal at the Junction inn which was excellent, the salmon was indeed the best I have ever had.As it was her 100th birthday,we took a cake which we asked the staff if they would kindly bring out for her as a surprise after the meal, they put the candles on and lit them and bought us all a round of drinks on the house! If that wasn’t enough, every member of staff came out to wish her a happy birthday!! The very kind customers were also wonderful,a very big thankyou to everyone.See you again soon

This was a special occassion, celebrating a family members birthday. The location was lovely by the Shropshire canal, with a super, and flat, country walk along the canal path. This was an option following a meal in a most friendly atmoshere, the staff were very much part of making this lovely warm and welcoming ambience. The food was tasty and presented well, with a wide variety of choice, I selected salmon which lived up to my expectations, it was great, followed by a real treat one of the tempting deserts. It was thumbs up all around from all the family. Thank you Norbury Junction ' I'll be back'

been here may times and this was the worst time, staff were brilliant, and some of the food was lovely but unlike previous visit the food was a bit below par. Friends had the pie cannot fault the filling but the pastry was hard, yet they had the pie on previous visit. booked a table, with it being a nice day we expected delays. the food was a mixture of pie, fish, salad and the chicken. don't get me wrong, the place is lovely just a bit let down with the food this time around
