Visited today with family. Couldn’t fault anything. The food was amazing, the staff were all friendly and helpful. We’ll definitely be back.

Great bar selection and plenty to choose from on the menu. Very inviting from the outside greeted with a smile. Made to feel welcome. Quick bite to eat. I had the steak sandwich which was fantastic

I visited on a weekday lunchtime and the pub was fairly busy with diners. First thing to say is the inside of the pub is superbly decorated in an olde worlde style and looks magnificent! The atmosphere was good too with mainly elderly customers. Drinks are slightly expensive. I had the Pie of the Day, chips and veg. Food presentation was excellent. The Pie was turkey, except there was hardly any meat in the pie! I felt shortchanged. The sauce in the pie was like a creamy leek sauce and tasted nice and the pastry lid was tasty too. The chips were below par in terms of taste and texture and were rather disappointing. The veg was all good. Also the gravy in the gravy boat tasted fine. Luckily I used a 40% off voucher which made the cost palatable for a meal which wasn't up to scratch sufficiently - the food I had was not worth the full price!

Came for date night, both shared the camberet which was fantastic. For mains we had a sirloin and a ribeye both cooked to perfection accompanied by some tasty side dishes. Lind our server was excellent. Would highly recommend!

We booked a table for our Son’s 18th Birthday. We went down earlier in the day to drop off a balloon and a cake, when we arrived everything was perfect. The food was amazing and the waiting on staff faultless. Thank you for making a small family occasion so lovely.

Since starting work in Stone I have wanted to visit the three crowns as a lot of my customers have recommended it to me , we booked a Sunday lunch for my birthday meal and we were extremely happy that we did , Zara served us and she was efficient, friendly and and helpful, we have mo complaints we enjoyed every course and will definitely be back 🙏

Went out for Mother’s Day with family. Was very busy but was greeted by numerous staff as we was shown to our table. Plenty of choice on the menu. Big portion sizes and well presented. We will be back again

We dined on Valentine’s Day and had a lovely evening. The lighting was romantic but we could still see to eat! The restaurant was pleasantly warm. The staff were friendly and helpful. The meal was excellent and service was at the right speed that we could relax between courses without watching hungrily for our food to arrive. There is a reason why we seem to eat here so often!

We visited after work for an impromptu date night after a long week. Fantastic as always, smiling staff, great food and a warm atmosphere.

Lovely atmosphere ,tasteful decor just a shame the food wasn’t as tasteful. I have been a few times to this pub and always been disappointed with the food. It’s either cold tasteless or under cooked, and it’s not cheap.

My sisters and I visited this evening for a meal. The starters were luke warm but edible and tasty. When the main meals came the server had a filthy, stained tea towel which he used to hold the plates. My sisters had both ordered steak and their meals were fine. My meal - Beef and Porcini bourguignon however was a mixture of hot and cold which was strange - the dumpling, mash and carrots were hot whilst the beef bourguignon was cold. When I told the waitress I was asked whether I would like another meal or whether I would like it just heated up. I replied that I would like it hot. I patiently waited and a new meal arrived which was steaming hot. However not a porcini mushroom in sight. When this was mentioned to the waitress she replied that they had a new chef. My sister suggested that he learn how to read the menu and cook and present what was actually on the menu. Overall an extremely disappointing culinary experience. Poor customer care and poor hygiene standards. I would not recommend and will definitely not be visiting again.

Dropped in for late lunch with friend after shopping trip. Downloaded app & ordered drinks & food. Staff very friendly. We both ordered fish cakes which were delicious. Would have liked bit more veg or known only 2 asparagus tips were on dish but as a lunch was nice & light.Really good to know pub is dog friendly & will be returning again with dog for a relaxed lunch or meal even though we live out of Stone.

After moving to the area recently, we are so happy with The Three Crowns being our local. We have been several occasions in small and larger groups and every time the service and food has been second to none. We can’t wait to visit again and work our way through the menu!

The first time in 2 years that our direct family have all been together and what a great experience. The front of house staff were excellent, and a special thank you to both the kitchen staff and 'Lind' for being so accommodating and flexible. I am Coeliac, and meals were adapted to be wheat free. An order was changed from 'fat' chips to fries just as meals were being served, and this additional request was quickly dispatched with the meal arriving only 2 minutes after all of ours. Delicious food that was hot, tasty and plentiful. A thoroughly enjoyable experience which I would recommend to anyone wanting a special meal at reasonable prices.

A proper English pub with very clear Covid measures. ample car park. Well spaced tables and friendly efficient and knowledgable staff. I would make a detour to visit again.

Decided to try a takeaway having enjoyed meals in the pub on numerous occasions. However very disappointed with the quality and quantity I had beef burginion with mushrooms which I have had in the past. The beef was just large pieces of grizzle and not a mushroom in site. My partner had the duck salad, a few bits of shredded duck leg on ribbons of carrot and cucumber. The portion sizes were definitely smaller than you would get if eating in. On the whole both meals looked like leftovers.

We visited here on Father’s Day and my dad’s birthday. We opted for the three course menu and the food was lovely; as we had never visited before we were impressed.However, the service did not live up to the food. We had to ask for more cutlery for our main course, and they never asked if we wanted any sauces. The staff were not on hand to ask for this as they were not to be seen. We did not get asked how our food was on any if the courses; abs we would say that the chips were soggy - they definitely were not triple cooked.The food in itself however was lovely, it was cooked to expectation and we could have not asked for anything else - as soon as the chips are improved the food will certainly be faultless! We will definitely visit again!

Opted for the three course father's day meal and in fairness good value for the money well cooked in the main (dont bother with thrice cooked chips too soggy )and of reasonable quality. The improvements could be made in the service with the need to ask for second course cutlery and condiments , a little improvement in table meals arriving at the table together but we are not talking hugh gaps , just a little attention to detail and maybe a bit more staff training . One suggestion would be to serve dessert on dessert plates so your not chasing your food around but that's hiper picky , I also like a steak knife but the knives supplied were sharp and didn't provide an issue again hiper picky. On balance yes it's ok

Average food in all honesty. 2 of us had fish and chips but weren't all that impressed. Chips and fish were mainly soggy not crispy. Large portion of fish though which was ok. Other person had lasagne and she thoroughly enjoyed it. Had a glass of wine, a coke and a bottle of cider, just over £50. Service was great but it wasn't that busy.

We visited the Three Crowns to celebrate my mum’s birthday, this being the first time in 18 months that we’d all been out together. I mentioned this when amending my booking but no reference was made to it during our visit, a bit disappointing as a small gesture would have made a big impact.We were greeted very warmly and seated promptly, some of our party had already arrived. Drinks order was taken quickly and received in a timely manner. Only problem was both the Pinot and the Sauvignon were room temp so we asked for ice as there was no offer of a colder glass. We later heard the table next to us complaining about the room temperature white wine, however it was important that we had a grumble free evening so asked automatically for ice when we next ordered wine.Food was acceptable, served hot and within a reasonable timescale but it felt like some dishes were not to the previous standard of presentation, for example fish and chips came with wilted pea shoots on top of the fish, mushy peas that had obviously been on a hot plate keeping warm and no tartare sauce despite it being specified on the menu, a small salad garnish would have filled the plate and made it look more presentable. This was the same with the gammon, on a positive, my mum had asked for half chips and salad with her lasagne and this was provided.The waitress was pleasant although service was a little slow, but we didn’t feel this was her fault.

I came with a group of work friends on a busy Saturday evening. Although it was busy nothing was too much trouble for the staff. The food was lovely. By the end of the evening everyone commented on what a great night they’d had.

Great evening out with really friendly and efficient staff. We were visiting for a night out and wanted to feel safe and secure due to the covid situation. We were greeted at the entrance and checking in was very efficient. Tables were well spaced and service was great with time to review the menu and recommendations offered when requested. Attentive for drinks refresh and all service very smooth.

What can I say besides I won’t be going there again. The staff were rude and gave the feeling they really didn’t want to be there. The food sounded really good on the menu but in fact was shocking and when it came to the table it was horrendous. The menu said my food came with dumplings but when it turned up they said they had run out. Avoid like the plague there are pubs that would try a lot harder for you business.

Food was delicious served by lovely friendly customer focused staff. COVID safety measures excellent and we felt very safe. Could not fault and would recommend.

Always a good meal and experience here. The food comes out hot, the portion sizes are good and the service is excellent. All of the staff are very friendly. We felt very safe with the extra safety measures in place and will be back again soon!

We are local and have been coming to the three crowns for many years. Unfortunately it has been very disappointing during our last few visits. I had the ribeye steak which was cooked as I asked, but really tough and I left about a 1/3 of it, which cost 21.50 with a sauce!! Definitely not worth the money. The other people in our party weren’t impressed either- the trio of lamb was very disappointing too and the menu was very limited. The pub itself is nice and most of the staff are friendly but it really needs to make improvements to be as popular as other restaurants locally. Sad but true. We gave it the benefit of the doubt but won’t be returning any time soon.

Came in to take advantage of the Government eating our scheme and despite being busy the food and service was excellent. We’ll be back again soon!!

We visited this place for lunch. We had starters of mushrooms in a creamy sauce which were lovely and Calamari which was very rubbery. Our mains were the ribeye steak which was cooked as ordered but very tough for a ribeye and the gammon which was very salty but tasty. The chips with these meals were top class. We both ordered the creme Brulee which was excellent. The staff were very friendly and relaxed. The real ale was a delight and the wine was good too. Social distancing wad very good inside the pub. The toilets were nice and clean. Overall a decent place to eat but a bit overpriced.

Food below average, service way below average. Won’t be returning. No masks worn by staff. Covid precautions confusing. Some people paying at the bar, against guidelines, as service was so slow.

This is the third review I have left in 6 years at this ,my local pub ,unfortunately has not got any better.Lovely staff just another vintage inns rip offWe went during the govts r 50% discount scheme, And yes new menu from the first day at inflated prices.Again average wine at nearly £9 a glass but worse we had a £35 ( for 4 people)discount on the food although the food bill was only £52 ,we didn't realise until we got home so not only did they rip us off but the govt to.This is a lovely pub but is only a pub and are charging up market restaurant prices, There are many other food serving pubs and restaurants in Stone that are far better value ,please try one of these rather an this greedy corporate institution

We had an excellent lunch at the 3 Crowns today. There was a very high standard of precautions and the food was delicious. It was very enjoyable to have our first meal out for 4 months. We highly recommend The 3 Crowns!

Nice food, good price however portions were quite small. We both ordered the beef roast and was great. Only downside was that the vegetables that accompanied the dish would only usually be for one and we were expecting another to come out but it didn’t. Maybe we are just vegetable lovers but would have loved to have a few more! Everything else was great.

We visited on Friday and had excellent service by Charlotte and Lind. The meal from the set 3 course lunch menu was delicious. The ambiance and decor is also very pleasing as in all Vintage Inns. Highly recommended!

Popped in for a quick pint today ( monday 16th march ) Wife had cider ( she wasnt overkeen ) I had a Disgusting lager that tasted and smelt bad ! They were left in the smoking area both full glasses Will never return !

Go here perhaps once a month. Never impressed with the food and the service can be inept but we still go because it is local, nice bar area and atmosphere and the staff are pleasant.However our meal last week was worse than what I recall of school meals. Chicken pie with very little, completely tasteless filling, undercooked but hard puff pastry, peas like bullets, overcooked mushy carrots and chips raw in the middle. My partner had a pizza which was tasteless and undercooked. How any chef can send food like that out of his kitchen I don’t know!We ate what we could and just paid as we’d had a busy day, were hungry and tired and didnt want any confrontation but we won’t be going back.

Recently visited The 3 Crowns and they must be congratulated on excellent service, there is a great menu to suit all tastes and would highly recommend the scallops and black pudding starter followed by Trio of meats Sunday lunch which includes a great choice of vegetables. There is a great atmosphere with 5 star service from all the Staff and complements must go to the kitchen for excellent tasty food,a great dining experience and would highly recommend.

Had a chicken sandwich, was nice as on ciabatta lovely tasty and hot, sweet potato fries very nice, good selection of drinks Reasonably priced

We went the the Three Crowns as a family get together and they accommodated for all 20 of us, the staff were so friendly and supportive with our 2 year old that was out of bedtime routine and very tired, the food was fantastic and we will definitely be returning to the Three Crowns again

Had 3 courses, very average. Lovely place and easy to park. Staff friendly. Small starters but ok, steak for mains tasty but again basic. Pudding Eaton mess for two was just a huge bowl of cream with just a tiny amount of meringue and fruit very disappointing. Probably wouldn’t go back to eat just a drink

Valentines Day lunch. Lovely and warm on a cold day with friendly, polite staff. Good choice on the menu and we enjoyed the food, as always. Full marks. Best Vintage Inn we’ve visited!

We went for Sunday lunch for a friend's birthday. There were ten of us and the seating area is very pleasant. I opted for the roast beef, medium cooked, but when it came, although tender, was quite well done. There were additional vegetables, but unfortunate the carrots, parsnips and roast potatoes were undercooked, and therefore I was unable to eat them, which is a great part of the meal for me. The staff were pleasant and efficient. My husband had the sea bass with mash, which he enjoyed.

Good food and service which was value for money on a busy Saturday night. 2 had rump steak and 2 beef lasagna which were plentiful. I had a baked mushroom and cheese starter which was exactly the same as the mushroom side with the steak!! No bread but a lot cheaper. Nice atmosphere and we were well looked after.

A voucher brought us to the three crowns on a Tuesday evening, atmosphere and surroundings are great food is average pub fayre - without the voucher not worth the cost.

Came here for a family meal, that was recommended by my in-laws that they have been there two times. The place is very nice and welcoming. Our waitress was very friendly and polite. I ordered scampi and chips, I could have done with more scampi, it looks like a child portion. My husband meal was nice, but apparently his veg was cold, and he could have done with more chips. My daughter peas she had was cold as well.

Visited today for the first time.( the recommendation was from My sister in law who has previously been here.) the place is lovely, well decorated and extremely clean and well kept.

We revisited on Saturday night, following a visit in November. It was my wife’s birthday and we enjoyed earlier visit so we decided to return.

Whilst only 3 of us for a birthday meal,the place was packed out with diners. We all ordered different meals which I can only describe as being outstanding and totally faultless, have to raise a cap to the chefs to be able to turn out such excellent food when it was such a busy service. Waitress was equally professional and friendly. Based on tonight's experience can do nothing more but highly recommend this place...well done to all from 3 very satisfied customers!

Well where to start! Firstly the welcome I received truly made me feel like a local, the barman Ross I believe was extremely entertaining, knowledgable and friendly in his many interactions with us. The Ubu beer was nice and the food was top quality, with the brownies being a highlight of my Instagram.

We regularly use The Three Crowns, as the menu and food is generally good. Our Christmas experience was slightly disappointing as the service was particularly slow and the food so-so. We’ve put it down to the Christmas rush as usually they are excellent.

We booked a table at the three crowns for Sunday lunch. We are regularly so underwhelmed by pub/ restaurant food that we went ready to be disappointed . Three out of four of us ordered a belly pork roast. The whole meal had been freshly cooked, very delicious fresh selection of vegetables and the meal was piping hot served on hot plates . The service was spot on. Well worth a visit. Thank you we will return.

Lunch menu for all,snack food & first rate cooked meals. Nice selection of starters main courses & sweets. Moderately priced good sized portions...just the right size.Children welcome in this cosy traditional nicely furnished pub. Evening meals the same standard...excellent service,friendly staff

I came in for a meal with my family, including my young nephew. All of the members of staff were brilliant with him and nothing was too much trouble. We all enjoyed are meals and will definitely be back again!

Have to agree with the other reviews, manager was rude didnt seem to be interested in us at all, asking us what we want in our drinks whilst his back is towards us, RUDE

An establishment is run from the top down, luckily the staff are lovely and clearly don’t use there manager as an example of customer service. Manager needs to move on. Place has really gone down hill. Would give ZERO stars if I could
