Jumbo Chinese Takeaway in Bradford

Tasteless food and undercooked food very slow

Placed an order at 7.36pm and it arrived at 10.00pm. We called after an hour and half asking where it was as just eat said we should be enjoying our food by now (lol) and was told ‘’oh we are just cooking it now it’ll be 5-10 mins” After numerous calls to the restaurant but the line being busy we were ignored all evening. We gave up and decided it was never going to arrive. Lo and behold the food arrived as the restaurant was closing as they cba to deliver it on time. Food was disgusting, cold and delivery driver rude. Will be asking for a refund.

I placed an online order on Just Eat at 7:13pm and it said it would be up to 60/65mins. No problem. It came to 9:04pm when I rang them to see when its actually coming and they said it had just left and it would be with me in 10mins. It didnt get here until after 9:30pm. From ordering at 7:13pm and it arriving after 9:30pm is ridiculous and this is the first time in ordering with them. Its a shame as the beef in black bean sauce was actually nice, not warm tho, and the chips were on the dry side but all in all it was an alright meal. Went through just eat to get some money back because of the delivery and the restaurant messaged back saying they wouldnt as the reason the delivery was late was because of the bad weather…….. it was raining a bit, it wasnt a storm last nite. Again its a shame the delivery was VERY late as it was the first time ordering but I think i’ll stick to my usual local chinese restaurant

Food took an hour to come. Food was wrong. Sweet and sour sauce was like water. Chicken was dry. Chips were horrible, like they had been there ages. Curry was sloppy. Would not recommend.

Not been for years. New owners at Jumbo Chinese takeaway in Bingley. Food didn't disappoint us either. Well worth a visit.

Ordered on just eat, tonight and they cancelled the order. No notification so waiting over 1 hour before i checked and it was cancelled. You should not be on just eat if you cant fulfil the order.

Food was brilliant, slightly dry chips but very moist rice. The only thing that has brought my review down is the sweet and sour sauce. The best word to describe this is vile. It tastes more like an extremely sweet cherry drink than an actual sauce. I hope for this to be changed as i have seen many reviews have the same complaint.

Lived in Bingley several years, our usual Chinese takeaway was closed so thought give Jumbo a try. So glad we did, starter and two mains, all delicious, our new go to takeaway

ordered shredded crispy beef in ok sauce. this was awful, so dry couldn't eat it

Great service, very friendly staff. Order was ready within 10 minutes, and the food was really tasty. The sweet and sout sauce was a bit thin but that's preference I guess. We loved it, we got the family salt snd pepper box and its great value

Ridiculously long delivery time for a Wednesday night. Rice smelt more like an Indian curry ...which was odd. But it also just didn't taste very good...

This is the second time we have ordered from Jumbo in Bingley. The first we ordered and paid for prawn crackers and got them plus a bag for nothing so we assumed we wouldn't need to pay for a bag on the second order but we didn't get them so we were disappointed given the size of our order (for 2) and the fact that they have always been given to us on other ocaissions. The order although delivered 10 mins earlier than requested was not as hot as we would have liked.

Order was due 1850hrs to 1910hrs. It did not arrive. Called 3x and assured it was on its way but it did not arrive. The line was than clearly taken off the hook as we called with 2 different numbers over a 30 minute period and it was "busy". Finally got through after over 3 hours of waiting and some rude lady answered who we explained the situation to and she was not interested and insisted it was with the driver. Clearly not. Either an incompetent driver or liars. Probably the latter. Usual takeaway tactic. I'd avoid the place if I were you.

Order never showed up (ordered via just eat). Called twice, standard answer of we a re busy and the driver has the food order en-route. 3hrs and counting. When we tried to call again the line is busy. If you can't deliver, don't offer it.

Good always arrived quick, hot and correct. Knocked 1 star off as used to use the reward system and last order was placed with it to then get an email saying order was cancelled! By which point money already pending off my account so couldn't order again! (Night before payday 😅) Was very annoying! Told they don't do rewards anymore but their own app automatically applied it to my order!

The food was absolutely awful. The only comparison I can provide for the tub of sweet and sour sauce was strawberry jelly before it sets. The special chicken, prawn and pork with pineapple came in a pinkish sauce. No flavour. Both the egg fried rice and chips were dry. Never again. Don't waste your money.

Since the reopening the food is not as good, I appreciate that margins are tight, but with the price increase I expected the same amount of veggies and meat in the dishes

Disgrace never had a Chinese as bad. Never again £50 for A load of bull

Delivery was on time, but not what I ordered.

Jumbo was never my favourite takeaway, but it has improved. Had a few takeaways from here now and they were quite good. Keep up the improvements

Ordered last night using the simple app. Delivery was swift and professional. The food was flavoursome and plenty. Rosie loved both her childs meal and the accompanying fortune cookies 👌🏻

Nice food, seasoned & cooked well with good portions. The wait time is a little long but I imagine they get a lot of orders via Just Eat. The prices are good too

15/07/2019 Vile. Ended up leaving it. We got 3 dishes and we have ordered from them before which was ok but tonight I was so disappointed.

It was nice, but I've had better. They don't serve Udon Noodles, which is disappointing.

One of the better Chinese take outs in the area. Be warned card payment is only available through just eat and can not be used on collection. I learnt that the hard way.

By far the best Chinese in bingley. Food is so tasty and always arrives hot. Reasonably priced too. Delivery can take a while but worth it!

Got chicken curry and rice. It's the first time I've had to eat it with a spoon. The sauce was like water. I had to add salt. Never again.

Awful Chinese, used to be good when last owners had it before it closed find. Since its reopened, we've tried them again twice, we will never go back again. Oily, lacking flavour and feels like old, and I mean OLD food, warmed up. Meat is rubbery and he sauces have a terrible smell and taste. Never thrown a takeaway away before but there was no way we could eat that! The prawn toast was rancid and squidgy. Overpriced too.

Complete rubbish. Food not nice. Over priced. In fact extortionate compared to other places. And top it off with a delivery man that robs you by overcharging. Not just myself. When mentioned to a friend they had the same added £4 extra cheeky con man..DISGUSTING. SHAME CAN'T ALLOCATE ZERO STARS.

Worse Chinese meal I've ever had, terrible quality food.

Terrible food. I've been using Jumbo in Bingley for over 20yrs. It was obvious from the minute I opened the containers (plastic now) that it had changed hands! The special fried rice was overcooked boiled rice thrown together to look like fried.No sign of the fried egg on top. Ribs in a watery sauce and bean sprouts in a thick glutenous sauce. I parted with £14.10 for food that in my opinion was very very poor. So I took it back. I ordered Chinese because I wanted proper Chinese food in the same way that I wouldn't go to a curry house for a roast beef dinner! I asked the Asian guy behind the counter if it had changed hands and was it still run by the same couple. He said it hadn't changed hands although one of his friends outside told me it had. I would have respected the guy in the takeaway more if he had told the truth. The food however didn't lie. Avoid at all costs.
