Had to wait 40 minutes for my full English. It was nice, not that cheap

Fantastic dining experience from Justin and all the team at Jubilee restaurant. Portions sizes are enough to keep you going all day, and everything is perfectly cooked from sausages, eggs, and bacon. Highly recommend Jubilee's breakfast, including black pudding and fried potatoes.

Table of 7 on Sunday. Provided room for us at short notice. Staff were lovely and so so welcoming with us and our kids. VERY LOVELY PLACE! Food was so nice. Thanks for having us. Especially the owners son who was incredible. Such polite staff which is rare these days.

Always a great place to go for breakfast if you can.

Wait time for food was longer than we would have liked and it was pretty noisy as all open plan dining in the main area. A gluten free sausage was provided, I haven't had that anywhere else! Food was good.

Had a lovely meal here mid-week. I went for the steak and ale pie with roast and new potatoes, veg and gravy. It was delicious. I would highly recommend this choice if you like the occasional pie in your life. The staff were friendly and gave an excellent service without being in your face. All in all a fantastic diner that we will be returning to many times I'm sure

Visited on a Thursday lunchtime around 1.15pm. Spacious restaurant with a pleasant quirky decor. We were informed on arrival there was currently around a 40minute wait time on the food I had Salmon in a white wine/ cream/dill sauce with steamed mixed veg and sautéed potatoes. The salmon and sauce were delicious and veg fresh and tasty. The sautéed potatoes were particularly tasty. The whole meal had a home cooked feel about it. The staff were friendly and attentive. Will definitely be returning if in the area again.

Always a huge choice from their varied menu. Always generous helpings of tasty food, served hot and fresh. Only one thing is that it is sometimes a victim of it's own success and can be a little noisy when they're really busy, but highly recommended all the same. Breakfasts are especially worth a try.

This restaurant/ cafe is consistently good.. excellent value and great service. The menu has a wide range of choice and your not rushed. It's a great place to meet up with friends/ family.

I go here way too often lol. Love the food here. Probably one of the best roast dinners served in Colchester and their cooked breakfasts are served all day and are just as good. Everything is cooked fresh. I find it priced really fair for what you get. I genuinely won't go any where else for a fry up because once you have had one of these anything else will disappoint.

Although the wait was was 45 minutes the time flew and the staff are really friendly and the food was very much worth the money and wait.

Popular, good food and service.

Totally brilliant cafe with the best property cooked breakfasts going. All freshly cooked and reasonably priced. Lunch menu looks wonderful and we're off to try it at the weekend. Lovely staff and service. Very clean and spacious. Lots of choices for both food and drinks. Can't recommend highly enough. It has a small but pretty outside seating area too. The owners obviously put everything into this cafe. A hidden gem, but gets very busy!

After paying 16 pounds for a breakfast with side of potato fries and that don't even come with bread and butter I waited 40 minutes to be served . Not a great experience

Good staff, good food, great location. Now I know how accesible it is and the speed of service, considering they had a short staffed sign up, during a busy breakfast period. I will be going again.

Great place does all sorts of meals you wait a while for food but is well worth the wait as it’s all freshly cooked to order staff are really friendly just a great place to go weather you want a fry up or Sunday lunch

We decided to try this restaurant as some of our friends had recommended it. We arrived at 10am on a Saturday morning and it was very busy. We thought this would be a good sign. However, we had to wait 50 minutes to get a simple breakfast. We will not be going back.

OMG a little gem in the most unlikely place. Think of an up market transport cafe with amazing food and great service, that's what you get here . Had to book to get a table shows there doing something right 😉 . Food was so good I forgot to take a photo 😆. I would definitely recommend this place for a stop off , but note , best booking a table first.

A great place to have a meal, especially a breakfast. Often busy, so a little loud on occasions. Well worth a visit.

Just had a coffee and a bit of cherry Bakewell but what I had for fab. If it had been lunchtime I would of definitely had it there based on that experience

Absolutely love this place, been coming on and off for over 30 years, only pity is I live too far away and only get come here on outings to London and the south living near Norwich. Breakfast is second to none, my favourite is Jubilee with Beans and some extras, all perfectly cooked, delicious, high quality ingredients, sauté potatoes are awesome and the star of the show. The restaurant is spotlessly clean and the staff are extremely professional, just the right level of attentiveness and friendly. A family run business I hope continues to thrive, thanks guys.

First experience here on a recommendation. Self order service, pay before you eat at the counter, personally I prefer table service. Prices are up there for what it is and where it is, quite expensive. The food was piping hot, good quality and plenty of it. Verdict, I have had the same quality for less around the area, so would not go out of my way to drive to for a destination breakfast again. It's ok and if you are already in the area doing something else, then worth a visit.

1 hour wait for a burger whist watching the person served before me finish and leave 15min before mine arrived. Lovely staff, good food. But don't stop here if time matters.

Went today, waitress very pleasant, however.. weirdly she said only one slice of toast per person per order!? Why I asked ... its the 'rules' what rules? The managers, I said why, she didn't know, not her fault. My friend was getting blinded by the sun, low this time of year, asked to lower blind was told 'rather you didn't as made restaurant dark'... there must be 25 other windows..?!.. all that was needed was ' yes sure' and put it up when we left.. Weird strange tw.t, am guessing he made the rules about the toast!. Never again.. breakfast ok, don't understand the good reviews?! I really don't.. very average all round..

Food is fantastic at the jubilee cafe everyone makes me feel welcome and nothing is too much trouble.

So I used to go here when it was nothing more than a greasy spoon. The food has always been above average... however lately they charge absolute top dollar for food that is now 'slightly improved' from back then. Don't get me wrong it's good.... but nowhere near the top dollar they ask..service is good though

In my opinion, the best breakfast in Essex and Suffolk. I travel from Ipswich to eat here and it is worth it. Friendly staff, good freshly cooked food, with Veggie options which is perfect. Still serving at your table which is a bonus. If you have a big party suggest you book ahead.

Had a late breakfast/ brunch (11am) and as always, after a wait due to how busy they were(we were told about it in advance) our food turned up on time and was nicely presented and very tasty. I recommend the "fried potatoes" as they are divine. I also had black pudding as an extra which was cooked to perfection, as was everything else. 😋 looking forward to my next visit already.

Started off life as a transport caff years ago but has now been revamped by the younger generation of the same family. Food is good but overpriced. Not enough waiting staff, especially with people skills. You can wait ages to be seated even though it is half empty, and annoyingly payment is taken at your table when you order.

It's okay. We had a nice welcome and got our tea straightaway. Then we waited. Waited some more. The tea was gone. Then, eventually the food turned up. Not brilliant. The food was okay, but we can get similar in other places quicker. Hence just three stars due to glacially slow service.

Best day restaurant to visit in the day, freshly cooked food great value best in town by far.

Lovely food. My family go here every weekend. I have been coming here with my Nana and my mum since I was a child, and now I take my daughter. Lovely, friendly staff. Can't wait to go again at the weekend.

Found this place for the first time despite it being around for 80 years and seemingly everyone other than us knowing about it. Great food, great staff and great service. Will definitely be going back soon 👍
