Went here with some friends had a great time. Very nice food

Clean, warm, quaint bistro. Great soundtrack playing. Attentive, friendly, staff. Amazing food. Honey roasted parsnips, buttered carrots and rosemary and garlic roast potatoes to die for. Booked last minute, so glad we did.

Excellent since changed hands but grapes and strawberries with eggs royale breakfast .all the wrong flavours Chef ,step back ,don't try so hard we just wanted a simple green leaf garnish but were told we would have to pay to change ...such a shame and you were serving Chefs this morning on there day off

Polite and friendly staff, the breakfast we had was lovely, and it had decent butcher sausages, which is always a bonus. Very good value for money for the big portion sizes you get. Also the hot chocolate and cappuccino was very nice too.

We popped in whilst passing through on Monday. Sat in the charming outside area. Staff and food were faultless.

Had a wonderful meal, lovely service and a really lovely evening. Going back very soon and regularly. Will be recommending the bistro too. Thank you for providing excellent food to eat locally.

I have been visiting almost weekly since the new owners arrived. They do a fabulous brunch. The evening fairs is also great. Really smart upmarket food!.. warm and friendly service, beautifully decorated and the best coffee in town. It’s nice to have a local classy establishment that offers a warm welcome and lovely food. Keep up the good work and I hope you can make the place a roaring success.

Absolutely charming place! The roast dinner is probably the best I have ever had which included a homemade Yorkie so big it could sink a ship. We were all enjoying the food so much we barely spoke and had no room for dessert. Would highly recommend this restaurant over the commercial establishments which don't come close to this top notch home cooked food.

Visited today for the first time, I can honestly say it was probably the best roast dinner I have ever had, just sensational! Service was impeccable & all food and drink very reasonably priced & great portion size. My children don't like roast dinners so they ate off the childrens menu, again tasty food and great portion sizes. We will be back!

Really annoyed, booked a table for 3 o clock. We arrived and they said they overbooked. They had my number so why not call me? They suggested that we wait on another table that was ready for another booking then move once a table for two became available. It seems that they took too many walk ins as they didn’t want to turn customers away. Well when the holiday season is over and you want the locals back in, I will be going elsewhere . I gave them another go today 4/8/24 and got a takeout roast beef. Absolutely delicious and the staff seem to be on top of everything. I will definitely be dining in the restaurant very soon

Went last night for a meal with friends and the food is Excellent and the service was 10/10.

Obliging staff & owners with a good selection of breakfast staples. We haven’t tried any of their other options yet & would absolutely put Dukes as our number one option when in the area again. Our only criticism would be the sausages & black pudding needed a longer, which I’m sure they would have done had we asked.

First time coming here yesterday for breakfast and it was a lovely little place! Staff were friendly and they had gluten free options which were great. I did have to ask someone as the menu was confusing but when I asked they were very helpful. The avocado salsa was lovely and everything else really. I did have to walk out to cool myself down as it was so hot but luckily the chef came out and put the air cons on as it was very hot yesterday. Soon as that came on it was lovely and cool inside. I will definitely be back. :-)

I visit Leewick Lane once a week. I always like to stop off at Dukes. Great food, great surroundings and quality service. I always allow time to enjoy. I think there should be a Dukes fan club and Jo should be chairman. I was, many times, served by the lovely Lena, WoW. Paul Whybrew

We came as a table of three today and had the best Sunday roast dinner. The presentation of the food was lovely, the lamb and turkey was cooked to perfection and so tender, the roast potatoes were fluffy inside and crispy on the outside, the vegetables were just right and the Yorkshire pudding was incredible! We must not forget the service which was friendly and attentive. Would highly recommend and we are returning. Thank you.

This cafe is such a gem, food was lovely, atmosphere was lovely and chilled and staff were lovely. Great to visit for lunch if you are in St Osyth.

AMAZING CUSTOMER SERVICE First visit here since its changed hands. My daughter and I came for lunch on Saturday and we’re both very impressed. Food was really lovely and the decor and furnishings give the place a nice relaxed feel. Logan was great as front of house, nothing was too much and he made us feel really welcome. Will 100% be back.

We came here for breakfast, everyone love their meal except my muffin on salmon royale was dry to chew. End up nicking my sister toast. However the staff is very friendly and polite, the interior was stunning love the vibes here.

We took our family to Dukes for an Easter celebration. The food was amazing, staff attentive and so pleasant! We will return to try more delicious dishes.

My partner and I went out for breakfast and was very impressed by the food and the price. I would say it was one of nicer places to go in Clacton and the surrounding areas. For breakfast that is . Quality of the ingredients nicely cooked and presented. I would recommend. I will go back again either for breakfast or to try the lunch menu.

Had a fantastic meal on Sat 3rd Feb. New decor is great and the place looks fresh and clean. Group of 4 and everybody thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon. Service only marked down by 1 star as think a front of house member of staff learning and he has quite a way to go yet. The young girl was doing her best and keeping things moving. No hassle to leave or keep buying drinks so relaxed and just a really enjoyable meal out. Congratulations to the new management and complements to the chef. Thank you.

Just had Mothers Day lunch here. We had the pork belly and it was absolutely amazing. The whole meal was gorgeous and the presentation was very good too. Will definitely book again.

It was our first visit. There were 6 adults & we booked for Sunday lunch. It was really nice. We had 3 courses & all of our meals were hot, well presented & very tasty. There is a good selection of roasts & very reasonably priced. Staff were all friendly & helpful. Would definitely recommend Dukes & we will be returning soon.

Went for a meal Saturday evening 20/11/21 with the wife and her parents, the food was fantastic and the service exceptional, we all agreed we will be returning, looking forward to trying the Sunday roast next time we are down. Highly recommended

First time dining at this cafe/bistro. Excellent selection of meals on the menu, but also cakes, sandwiches etc if you fancy something light for lunch. Staff were very friendly and welcoming and the atmosphere was lovely. Food was very good for the price. Definitely somewhere i will come back too, and take friends too.

I had liver, it is often overcooked when you eat out but it was cooked perfectly.

A group of 11 of us booked a table for Saturday lunch. We came down to do the Curve Watersports which is 2mins down the road and came across this place.Lovely little place. The Lady who served us was so lovely and accommodating! You can see that the kitchen is abit on the small side but that didn't let things down, the food was superb! From sandwiches to burgers, pasta to chicken. There is so much to choose from and everything was delicious. Would definitely recommend! 5* all round!

We were fitted in at short notice on a Saturday evening fortuneately as two local pubs wouldn't accomodate us for food. We were made to feel very welcombed and had a lovely 'home cooked' meal. However, it would be advisable to book.

Four and a half stars - very good. We had a nice meal here at lunchtime. The staff were helpful and the food was good; I would say a good pub-grub style (meant in a complimentary way). We had a good sandwich and scampi. The staff were helpful and service friendly. Parking I imagine could be a bit tricky if it gets really busy as there are some spaces directly outside but not loads of parking. The staff were very good about cleaning and there was good distancing between the tables. Would definitely go back again.

Lovely staff. Social distancing and Covid rules well adhered to. The best coffee and teacakes in town. Also wonderful fresh prepared meals. A MUST VISIT!

Even in these difficult times you are made to feel extremely welcome. The staff all adhere to social distancing and all cleaning/sanitizing systems are in place. The coffee and meals are still first rate.Thank you all for trying to make life a bit more 'normal' and bearable.

We have supported Dukes for many years, and had asked them to make us two quiches for our daughters birthday- £27 later which I thought was quite steep, the whole things crumbled apart. They generally are very tasty, but having called back straight away, and be offered nothing off at first was disgusting. Eventually after much needless awkward discussion, they agreed to refund me, with no mention of returning them, by this point I was left with a bit of a sour taste in my mouth- it shouldn’t have been this difficult for a local village bistro to come to this decision to offer me something off. Even worse, I then went in the week later for the refund, and the owner this time who didn’t know a thing about it refused as he said we didn’t bring them back. There was no mention of this on the phone call arranging the refund, and other than salads we had nothing else to offer our guests. Absolutely appalling customer service. Suffice to say, we will no longer be supporting them sadly.

Stopped by today with a little lunch with my wife. Pleasant surroundings, very generous portions and superb Scotch Eggs. Very well priced and you will not leave hungry. Will recommend and visit again.

Loved the food. Staff very friendly, professional and patient. Ate there a number of times during the week when I was staying nearby. Will definitely eat there again.

Food is absolutely phenomenal here! I had one of the specials which was Skate in a caper and Lemon butter, my wife who is veggie was also catered for! overall there was 8 of us that went and everyone one of use were blown away by the food!! People who served us were really friendly too so thank you!!!

Went for lunch on Sunday the starter was very nice but the main meals was very disappointing the belly of pork one meal was fall of fat other two was rock hard Potatoes needed a Sledgehammer to try. To brake into them told the man in charge he. Came with a small dish. Of Potatoes Swimming in oil the whole meal Should have gone in the Bin waste of 47 Pounds

An ideal place to relax with friends and enjoy a wonderful cappuccino and homemade cake. The meals are freshly prepared and mouthwatering. The staff are lovely. You are never rushed and can chill out and relax. An enjoyable experience.

I cannot begin to tell you how wonderful our Christmas day dinner was. From start to finish you couldn't fault it. The service was excellent, with so much food we waddled out of the restaurant. Thank you for making our Christmas day special.

Family and friends visited this restaurant last night for our friends 60th birthday. What an amazing restaurant. Food, staff, ambience were all amazing. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. Excellent value for money. Just wished it was nearer to where we lived!
