JRC Global Buffet in Cardiff

This was Mother's Day, we enjoyed the food but the toilets were disgusting. Dark to hide the filth and a queue of ten ladies in the corridor waiting. Of the three ladies cubicles, two were locked and the one that was open had no catch on the door let alone a lock. The two pig trough sinks were half full of water not draining out and full of horrid stuff in there. We were told the gents toilets were no better. It makes one wonder what the staff toilets are like and how hygienic are the staff?

Absolute rip off of a place. Front of house staff so rude. Over priced would not recommend and would NEVER go again My daughter has just turned 13 and because she is tall she was charged full price!!! She doesn’t eat at the best of times and ate 3 mouth fulls is never a big eater yet staff charges her based on height!

Very disappointing. Not at all like you imagine after looking at the website. No Greek, Lebanese, English. Mostly Chinese food with a bit of pizza, watery pasta, salad bar and curries but it was all bland and tasteless. The steak is ultra thin and really tough. Even the desserts were tasteless. The nicest part of it all was the beer. I definitely would not recommend or visit again.

A superb selection and variety of food to fill almost every empty stomach. Set price, then help yourself and keep on helping yourself. Get busy but the food keeps coming and freshly replenished.

The food here is nice, none of us could fault the food with lots of variety especially the Chinese food which is what we mainly went for, slightly on the pricey side £71 for 2 adults and a child with 3 refillable soft drinks but we was aware what the price was going to be. This place does lack atmosphere and in my opinion needs some music in the background, we all left with very full stomachs :). I would return again !

The food itself is ok me and some friends came here to celebrate my gf's birthday but the service and overall customer experience is terrible, no smiles or warm greetings at all. I work for a restaurant myself and I understand how important it is to greet customers warmly but they clearly did not care that we were there at all. I understand the job is stressful and mundane but it still provides a very underwhelming experience even though the food wasn't too bad. Also I specifically came to complain about the strange guy that makes your food in front of you in the tenpanyakki section I'm not sure if he was making fun of me or something for not ordering immediately but he was laughing about something and I had a feeling it was about me to the customer in front of me which was absolutely strange and he messed up my order too. I tried to strike up conversation to lessen the awkwardness but he straight up ignored my question. I was left absolutely baffled after the experience!

On website mention is an international buffet with dishes from all over the world like Mexico,Greece, Brazil, India China, France, Thailand, Spain, Lebanon,Japanese and Italy… Got there was only Chinese Indian British and Italian(pasta and pizza) sushi with cucumber only. Food was not replaced and like mentioned in other reviews lots of food not replaced! For £25 per person certainly not worth it. Deserts defrost cakes, melted ice cream, jello. Don’t go there, unless you can pag half price.

Wide variety of choice. More vegetarian options may be nice but decent amount. The Indian curries were good but not great. The naans were tasty but had become stiff from being sat out.

We visited yesterday for lunch. We weren’t sure what to expect because of the many bad reviews, but we were pleasantly surprised and would recommend. We had booked a table for 1pm which is when they open - I think this is probably the best time to visit because all the food had just been put out so there was plenty of it and it was all hot - about an hour later, some of the dishes were running low and I don’t know how often they replenish. There was a good selection of Chinese, Indian & Thai food and all the dishes that we tried were tasty. There was also plenty of other options including chips, chicken nuggets, various other chicken, a couple of pizzas, pasta, sushi and other meat & veg. However the only Greek dish was a kebab which wasn’t very tasty - maybe they should take Greek off the list! There was a good selection of desserts, small tubs of icecream and a selection of fruits. The unlimited soft drinks for £3.80 was good value, although the Coke Zero tasted like a cheaper alternative. The only negative was the toilets - lighting was very dim, possibly to disguise the state of them! Also the lift up to the restaurant was out of order (seems like it’s been out of order for a while?) but they did email the day before to let us know about it. Overall we enjoyed our lunch and we would visit again.

The elevator was broken and had to walk up 2.5 flights of steps. Most food was cold even though it was under “heat lamps”. Many food was dry or hot very cooked. Overall, overpriced and very poor quality. No one in our party of 3 liked it. Stay away from this one, not worth it!!!

As others have said, not a huge choice of dishes and several were empty when we went up for food. Huge queues to get in, even though it seemed quiet inside. Lifts were out of order which was a bit of a problem as two of our party struggle with stairs. Couldn't say how long the lift had been broken so it may just be unlucky or maybe they have been out for a while. Coffee machine was broken as well, which didn't bode well for the lift (unlikely they both broke in one evening) If you want a specific buffet then you would have much more choice going to an Indian or Chinese etc buffet. They seem to cater for every country but very limited for choice if you want to stick with one cuisine. The food they did have was nice. Lighting was an issue too. I have no issue with low lighting but the place was just dark. I would go back if we struggled to choose a venue again and one person wanted Chinese and another wanted Indian but if I we all wanted the same, I would go to a place that specialised in that cuisine.

Not a lot of choice, what was available was barely warm. The chinese section was the best as in taste wise Lighting on entering the building and in the toilets is absolutely shocking, emergency lighting is brighter!! Poor dessert choices. Tea coffee machine out of order. Pay on entry. I wouldn't return.

Absolutely DISGUSTED with the service at JRC global today. Had my 5 year old disabled son with me who doesn’t eat or drink anything orally and is fed through a gastro tube which is surgically inserted into his stomach. Even though I told them that he was severely disabled and doesn’t eat or drink anything and has a gastro tube fitted they tried to charge me full price for him to sit with us!

Came with my partner, he had his meal for free as it was his birthday! There was lots of choice, and although not piping hot the food wasn't cold either. Only real downside was we were placed in a really dark corner so it felt a bit dingy! Would def go back though!

Goodness. What are all the bad reviews about?? The buffet is really clean now. The food is fresh and they've got variety. It's about £26 per person. They do fresh sushi, on the grill seafood. I'm surprised by how bad the reviews are about the place. Unsure who these people are or what they're expecting from a buffet. However, it's been really good for me and my family. I usually will also take friends who come down from other cities here. I mean, give it a shot yourself but really don't take the negatives seriously! It's different and better now :)

Stale food -avoid! Went here as a family. Food looked OK but it was all stale and luke warm. We could just about eat a bite full of food. From chewy dry meats and stale breads , I thought I was going to be sick. I requested a partial refund from the manager and explained my reasons. To pay £60 for food we had barely touched for 2 adults and a child seemed unreasonable. This place is a con. They request you pay upfront and then get seated. By then you can't even get a refund or walk out. This place needs to be closed down as I do think it's a health risk and needs ALOT of TLC.

Do NOT go here the place is terrible, The quality of the food and choice is very very poor. It is no way a restaurant more like a factory canteen with rows of seats. 70% of the food is luke warm the rest is cooked behind the serving counters.
