Food lovely lots to choose from. Felt rushed by staff taking your plates as soon as you put your cutlery down. Shame you don’t do refills on the soft drinks like you did down the bay. Will go back again

Great food with a solid selection for gluten free eating. Good service and pleasant experience overall Music was bit loud and intrusive for my company who weren't fans of Debussy piano 😂

Food is terrible there wasn’t much food, the biriani was very cold and look like very very old. Every dish wasn’t nice at all. Very very disappointed ☹️

Great serve yourself buffet style food, loads of choice from steak, lamb chops or fresh fish on the tapanaki to a Sunday roast carvery and everything inbetween, and when you have had enough of mains there are desserts galore, highly recommend.

The quality and diversity of food on offer is excellent. The dining area feels a bit like a school canteen. Children really love the huge amount of different dessert options.

If I could give this ‘buffet’ half a star I would. How on earth are they charging £25 per person, plus paying for drinks it is diabolical. They claim they do ‘Italian ‘Mexican ‘Brazilian ‘Greek and many more when really it’s appalling and only serve a few of what they claim to do so.

We came here today for my partners birthday meal and it was awful, lack of choice food was bland and cold. Served on tiny plastic plates. Avoid! Very disappointed 😞

Whilst staying in Cardiff for a few days we thought we'd go to JRC This was £25 per head and to say we were disappointed was an understatement the good was cold and the choices were not as extensive as other JRC locations that we'd been to also we thought that it wasn't well thought out the food they goes together wasn't put together e.g., the naan breads were with the vegetables over the farest side away from the Indian food .....we thought there would be a Chinese curry but nope not was there any satay chicken the food was cold and meat chewy and fatty the plates were small but worst of all plastic and not a pleasant experience at all especially for £25 per head couldnt leave fast enough

There is not much variety of food as there was on the old one. Food us still nice but not much

If you have a big appetite or just like trying lots of different foods this place is great. The Japanese section was the pick for me. The Indian was a bit disappointing as the food was not authentic and lacked punch and chilli hot. Staff were supper friendly and attentive.

Went tgere last saturday. Food was good but service wasnt great the waiter that was collecting the empty plates off our table dropped food twice on our coats and once if my husband didnt realise and moved quick it would of went all over him

The place is central and good for a day out. You can enjoy a relaxing walk outside the restaurant or sit outside and enjoy a relaxing moment with friends.

Very nice…most improved from when it was down Cardiff bay. Allot more selection of fresh food and the quality is a lot better

Very disappointed after coming here for my birthday. Came during lunch time and only around half food selection was available. The food that was available was cold and hard, did not enjoy at all. Not to mention since, Iv had a really bad upset stomach. Will not be returning or recommending

Went during lunch time for my birthday and was really disappointed. Hardly any food available (obviously they offer less during lunch time) and what was available was stone cold. Won't recommend or be returning, the only nice thing was the entrance area.

Good place to go for a work meal, as its £25 all you can eat for 90 minutes. Food is good, lot of variety, fresh food. The only 2 things I have to point out is how miserable the staff there looks, didn’t see a single one smiling or at least pretending to enjoy being there and the price of the soft drinks… a pint of coke for £3.50 that hefty.

Very friendly staff and very good food

£50 for two people without drinks would be good value if only the food tasted good! Almost everything lacks flavour, from the noodles cooked from the live kitchen to the dry cakes for dessert. We arrived at around 5:30, so the food had just been set out, but most items were already dry and not fresh tasting, and lukewarm. Did not like the separation of the dining room from the serving area, but that’s just my preference. Overall sadly wouldn’t return or recommend.

I don't normally rate global buffets but was impressed by the quality of the food here. Great selection of starters, mains and desserts. I do think it's a bit expensive at £25 pp but I guess that's what they charge nowadays.

Went for lunch around 1 pm and certain dishes run out. It's not worth it for what I paid.

Not impressed with the place. The food was terrible, the curry was like water, my friend had ribs which were so tough she tried to get it off the bone with a fork (which flung across the table). The desserts were stale, the whole layout is a shambles. Wasn’t what I expected, Secondly, my friend and I have left the restaurant feeling very sick, she actually vomited when she got home and bad stomach. Also..there was a female being sick in the toilet while we were there. And I have now got a bad stomach myself. Can’t imagine the place is very hygienic with everyone like sardines. It’s chaos. Won’t be going again.

Went to jrc today for lunch. Food was Luke warm, dishes were sparce and dishes weren't being filled up when empty. Have previously been to Jrc , in different venue and this was way better. We will not be eating here again, very disappointed with quality of food.

If I could give 0 star for food, I would. Shocking food, £25 pp, what a rip off for the quality of food served. Waiting staff were excellent but kitchen staff don’t seem to know what’s going on for serving buffet food. Almost 40% of trays were either empty or last bit of crumbs left with no initiative of rotating food. Indian section was a joke, don’t even waste ur appetite in eating cold, tasteless, tomatoey curries. Chinese section, is even more of a joke where they give it you boiled without putting it in a wok, most disgusting taste ever. Cheap quality deserts. Avoid at all costs.

Very disappointed with the new "revamped" version of JRC. We have been frequent customers over the years with birthdays/anniversaries. However, today was the first time we've been to the restaurant since it moved and we will not be returning again. The food was very flavourless. Hot food was room temperature. Cold food was room temperature. Ice cream in tubs had defrosted and been refrozen (the ice cream had crystalised). Not as much selection as they had previously. Nothing seemed fresh, even though it was the start of service. The prices are so very high now compared to what they were just a year ago. £70 for 2 adults and a child (however I'm almost certain we got charged just for taking a 6 month old baby in who slept the whole time). Even more shocking to find out that drinks are no longer included in the already higher price. £11 for 3 glasses of pop. 80 odd quid down the drain. We live and learn! But never again. Ps. The one plus I must add is that all the staff are very friendly and are constantly on the go clearing up and serving.

We arrived at 7:30 and found that most of the starters and Indian food section were empty, and it seemed like they couldn't be bothered to fill it up. By the end of the meal, most of the desserts were gone, except for the fruits. There was a great selection of food, but unfortunately, we couldn't try everything due to items being unavailable.

Worst place I’ve been not very nice staff we booked a table for 3.45 then we asked to put us in a corner table put us in a middle part then we moved to a quite place because the boy has adhd and Autism not nice staff he told us off for moving I understood you gotta ask but when we ask to go in a quiet place we need it the food wasn’t nice I don’t feel well of it not much there to eat really upset 😡 and was not happy with the £57 bill

Went here for my birthday party and as soon as i walk in i see a projected pond of fish where the water reacts to where your feet moves on the floor. You are also greeted to nature decorated around the buffet. When we sat down i went to get a drink from the bar and the drink were amazing. As soon as you go into the food buffet you feel a sudden shock of just 'wow' pasta, pizza, curry, sweets, ice cream and ice lollies, you can name it all. Overall 5 stars for all of these reasons

You get what you expect. Mid range food & price. Go there hungry because there's lots of food. Didn't appreciate being asked to move table half way through so the staff could clean the whole section...err hang on....you seated us here bud so no! Otherwise fine.

Went for lunch time 1pm. Food completly cold. Not a single warm dish. Selection dire. And the food that was available had next to nothing remaining. Absolutely would not recommend.

£25 and u can enjoy cuisines from all over the world, what else could i expect from it here? Plus the best Char Siu (Honey Roast Pork) In Wales as a Chinese I am confident of that🤷‍♂️ Roast duck not bad either. Will surely come again whenever i feel like a feast

Awful!!!! £25 pound for an iced lolly!! Food was warm at best, all looked like it’s been made yesterday or the day before.! Couldn’t eat anything - Told to sit anywhere then asked to sit on a certain table to make it easier for the staff - Baring in mind the staff are rude and nowhere to be seen for any help at all! The other two in the party were the same £75 quid for a lolly and 2 choc ices!!! ICE CREAM VAN NEXT TIME!!! Stay Away

Food was cooked well. Lots of variety but kind of unorganised. Was hoping for some kind of satay selection but not even satay sauce. Gutted. Coke zero tasted like fizzy water. Asked for a replacement and was told "we've had lots of complaints but the syrup is fine". I suspect they've got the syrup ration turned right down to save money. Got a diet coke as replacement. Pretty much the same issue. If I'm paying £4 for a pint of diet/zero coke I expect some flavour. Staff all seemed kind of glum. The seating/eating area was like a canteen. No table decoration or anything. Our table was wobbly as heck. The place was very clean and the food was all hot. Highlights were the Bbq ribs and the spicy chicken wings. I didn't use the toilets so can't comment on that. Worth a try if you want to sample some different foods but I wouldn't go again.

It's a nice-looking place, curry, noodles, pizza, English breakfasts, and lots of sweets, but it needs more seasoning, and food is blunt . No beef was aviable, prawns wasn't cleaned before cooking. Beef in black beans sauce tasted odd. I will not rush back again.

Large variety, but all of it barely hits takeaway standard

Probably the worst buffet in Cardiff. None of it is authentic, it’s just a smelly slop I wouldn’t give a pig to eat. Wheelchair entrance is through a fire exit which can’t be opened from the outside. It’s not independently wheelchair accessible. If you go with someone else who can walk, It causes all manner of confusion with the rude staff who for some reason kept thinking I was trying to sneak in without paying. Why anyone would want to steal their food is beyond me. Either get a wheelchair entrance or improve your IQ.

Probably my worst buffet experience ever. Wouldn’t go again, Lack of choice, predominantly Asian food. Cross contamination was likely, not reassured by anyone. Anything that was finished, was not refilled the full hour I was there. e.g. hot wings, sheekh kebabs, Indian curries were all bland, old and not cooked well. The only thing I ate the most was probably chips and pizza, fruits and some desserts, that’s about it, every plate I made, ended up in the bin unfortunately. Waste of £25, I’d suggest you go to a proper restaurant, pay less and get proper service and food. Also the table i was given, after I went up for a second serving staff left all their cleaning products on our table and wondered off, assuming we were finished. Which I found rude.

I was really excited to eat here how ever my experience fell short and I was left disappointed, The decorations in this restaurant were phenomenal. It was so so pretty inside . Unfortunately the food was not good, Each plate I had was cold, bland and not enjoyable. I had 3 different kinds of chicken that was pink, one piece fully bright pink through out and the other two pieces a lighter shade of pink, I had a bite of the battered piece and didn’t realise it was pink until after I had ate some which I wasn’t happy about. The food tasted quite old as if it had been left there for a long time, I was disappointed with the food options offered at each section I do not feel like there was enough choice, the most disappointing section for me was the Indian section. I definitely do not feel like I had good value for money, I feel like the staff could have made a bit more effort with their hospitality and could have been more welcoming, smiled more and asked how we were, if the food was okay, I believe good customer service skills are important how ever I didn’t recieve any. I went on a week day and paid £25 for my ticket and £3.50 for a drink. Unfortunately I can’t see myself being able to recommend this place to friends and family, I don’t see my self returning either, Which I find a massive shame because of the potential of this place, There was so many seats it is a huge restaurant and as I said decorated very very beautifully! I hope this place improves and takes advice on board and I send them my luck ! 🍀

Lovely food but a lot less choice than in previous location down the bay. Removing the refillable drinks is also disappointing. On the whole lovely food, great location and staff friendly.

Best food you can get for the price range. The waiters are professional and very friendly, making us feel very welcomed. The food has a wide range from European, Cantonese, Indian, to Japanese. The chefs are always available and are eager to help you at a moment's notice. Would definitely come back soon! I've heard the JRC at Cardiff Bay is renovating into a Korean/Japanese style buffet, very excited to visit it soon. I recommend everyone to visit! You won't regret it. :)

Closed at 2pm with no warning. Still advertised as being open until 3pm. Arrived at 1:45 and closed. Very disappointing.

Loved the new venue. We went on a birthday so one meal was free which made this trip great value. Make sure to book 24 hours in advance for the free birthday meal. All the food was great quality and all the staff were friendly and polite. The food all looked appealing and fresh. Parking is an issue as Cardiff Council are trying to make Cardiff car us friendly so it cost us £9.80 to park at a nearby NCP carpark. My only criticism would be there was what looked like poo on the wall in one of the toilet cubicles and when we were seated we were seated at the table closeat to the bar where all the bins and mops/buckets/brooms were stored in full view and there was not a nice smell in that area so we asked to be moved. Apart from that we enjoyed the visit and will be back.

The customer service and management was appalling. The food was awful to the point where it made us all ill. This was supposed to be a nice family meal but it left us all very disappointed and very uncomfortable. When we explained it was our first time at the restaurant we were not told anything, (eg. Where to get our food or plates) the toilets and cutlery where discussing and very unhygienic.

Went for the lunchtime slot at £15 per head. Having watched lots of YouTube videos of JRC, I'd made a mental list of what I wanted to try first. Unfortunately none of it was available. No carvery, no sushi, no grilled lamb chops or steak etc. There was a decent selection of Chinese and Indian dishes though along with UK cooked breakfast items, and a fair dessert selection. The food was pretty salty and so I was drinking water the rest of the day. For £15 in central Cardiff I suppose it was ok for the money, but I don't think I'll be rushing back there again. Maybe the evening offerings would change my mind

This is the very worst Chinese we have ever eaten in. Choice was good but unfortunately the food was awful. We were a party of 4, each with different tastes, so a good variety of dishes were tried. At £25 a head, the price is much too dear. Most of the food was lukewarm, some staff cooking the food to order was surly and impatient. Soup was watery and under seasoned, the duck was inedible, some of the noodles looked and tasted as if they were the supermarkets own brand. I can honestly say that the only thing nice was the pizza. I literally paid £25 for a small piece of pizza. Our party all agreed. Would I go there again ? If thus was the only food on the planet, I would rather starve to death.

We've been meaning to try this place for a while. So we was in Cardiff. So went in for lunch. And was a little disappointed really. Some food was cold. But lots of choice.

Lunch menu was much less than evening menu, but still tasty just much less on offer than we expected. But I guess we should have checked this before booking. Poor salad selection.

Booked a table prior to arriving but had to queue for 25 minutes to pay prior to being seated (so somewhat pointless booking in advance). Due to being in the school holidays, the restaurant was very busy. The food choices are ok. Pointless having roast joints and fish displayed out of reach if there isn't someone available to actually serve those items. Not great quality. Just ok. Desserts were a bit underwhelming. Queued for ages at the bar to get drinks. Felt a bit ripped off by having to pay adult prices for my children who are 12 and 11 because they are slightly taller than 150cm. I guess if you are a short adult you'd pay child prices based on the same assumption. It's ok. Not great. Just ok

Brilliant food, great variety! One of the better buffets I have been too in a good while! Would definitely return. I do think they need to change the height rule, whether children pay adult prices should be based on age, rather than height.

Fab selection today and not too busy when we visited 4pm Sunday. No queue at grill either. Nice. Same again today on a Saturday seems 4pm good time to visit

First time visiting since it was in the bay, the main issue I would complain about is that as a family of 2 adults and 2 children, we were very shocked to find that because our one child was over 150cm, she would be charged as an adult (despite being 11!), after queuing for 20 mins to get in, we found this rather discriminating, as my daughter in question isn't even a big eater and very picky with food. It just seems that they are trying to bump up the price more, in whatever way they can!. It is the school holidays and It was quite chaotic being so busy, probably because of this, however it didn't seem that there were enough staff on service, as my partner wanted some fresh fish that was set out, towards the back of the counter (I guess for a chef to serve) but to far for any of us to reach, we couldn't see anyone to call and he waited for about 5 mins then gave up. The food we did have was OK and variety seemed OK too. One other thing I would suggest - is that perhaps jrc should have the facility to order drinks on an app from the tables, as other places have, as the queue to order drinks at the bar was also big and we were waiting for 15 mins to be served. Overall, not a great first experience of the new jrc in Cardiff, especially after feeling ripped off with the height of my child issue, what would they do if an adult was under 150cm??, it should be a set price for adults and a set price for children, that simple!

Great place for a meal out. Not cheap at £25pp (drinks not included) for dinner time but definitely worth the money due to the large variety of dishes that you can make from the buffet. They also have a chef that cooks specific dishes in from of you, then you have just have to grsbd the sided. The desert side is also a large variety of cakes and sweets, very small but amazing pieces of cake, sweets and other desert types. In all honesty, this was my first time and it won't be the last.

Loved this place in Cardiff bay but since moved would definitely not rate it. Food was disgusting! My husband was sick and my younger son nearly choked on hard pasta. Well over priced and poor quality food. Floor is sticky and the seating area smelled terrible. If we hadn’t paid already before sitting down we wouldn’t have come in or stayed.

We tried this buffet Saturday night. First of all I used the toilet. The bathroom absolutely stank. I can't even explain how bad the smell was. Second of all the buffet and the seating area are in two different rooms. You have to pay for drinks separately which I thinks a con when the meal is £25 per head. Choices of food are quite limited I thought. The Indian selection was VERY limited with only 3 curries. None of them were particularly nice. Lots of sweets, different puddings and a variety of ice lollies/creams - which I actually thought were good. However, the puddings were dry and not tasty. Me and my partner left the seating area to go and get food, we had come back and the staff had completely reset our table, taken away our drinks we had just paid for. I assume they thought we had left the premises. They gave us a fresh drink after we complained. But this happened twice! Theres clearly no communication between staff. The staff don't know if you're going to get more food or leaving with the buffet being in the same direction as the door, it's a bit of an odd set up. Overall, don't waste your money. I wouldn't recommend at all.

Had food here on the 3rd August the curry was cold and the chicken was cold aswell the sushi tasted like cardboard me and my partner and our niece was unwell when we got back home as we were feeling sick and the only place we had food from was here I wouldn't recommend it to no one anymore as we tried it when it first opened and it was nice we would rather travel to swansea for food at a different place for all you can eat Chinese disappointment as we did like it when it first opened have tried to contact the place and no response via email to them or headquarters AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS IF YOU WANNA BE ILL THEN GO THERE BUT I WILL NEVER EVER GO THERE AGAIN

Good variety of food The staff is quite helpful For 15 pounds weekdays lunch, I think its pretty great. The individual taste of each dish however is decent but nothing amazing.

We went to JRC buffet last Friday and the food was lovely, all the dishes was tasty and I think it taste even nicer than when they were down Cardiff bay. Parking isn't really nearby however there is lots of car parks in the city centre so only a short walk. The atmosphere was busy and lively and suitable for everyone. not sure why some people are complaining about the price you pay £25 all you eat where else can you go and pay that price and have a full belly , will definitely be back highly recommended 👌

We booked 3 weeks ago by phone but they dint tell us they had moved premises.

My daughter booked for my grandson's birthday but when we got there they had moved to other premises, we had been there before so my daughter phoned them to book ,but they never thought to mention they had moved, i phoned them but they were very rude on the phone ,it upset my grandson's birthday .

My 2 kids said it was the best restaurant they'd ever been to and can't wait to return. Lovely atmosphere and decor very nice.

Plenty of choice, well organised and efficient service. Also lunchtime prices are good. Desserts disappointing.

I do think it's quite expensive but I thoroughly enjoyed our evening here, I really like the atmosphere. The food was on the cold side but that's what you have to expect at a buffet! My only criticism is they don't know whether you've gone to get more food or whether you've left so our drinks got cleared at one point but they were replaced free of charge. For the variety on offer you can see why it's £25 but the price is the only reason I wouldn't rush back, and that's on us and our budget more than anything.

Despite the mixed Google reviews, I had a fantastic experience at this buffet restaurant with friends! The variety of options was impressive, and every dish I had was delicious. I especially loved the salmon and king prawns. It's definitely a place I'm considering visiting again. It's also perfect for birthday parties or gatherings with family and friends. Highly recommend!
