JRC Global Buffet in Cardiff

Went here for my birthday party and as soon as i walk in i see a projected pond of fish where the water reacts to where your feet moves on the floor. You are also greeted to nature decorated around the buffet. When we sat down i went to get a drink from the bar and the drink was amazing. As soon as you go into the food buffet you feel a sudden shock of just 'wow' pasta, pizza, curry, sweets, ice cream and ice lollies, you can name it all. Overall 5 stars for all of these reasons

found a hair in the food, will not recommend specially when you go as family for a birthday party more than 6 people paying lots of money. last time my brother found a hair in the food 2 years ago i thought maybe he doesnt like the food etc but i found a blach thick straight the size of finger in the food. i should of conplained but i did not want to ruin bday party and others wete eating 😫😫

Absolutely amazing so much choice in foods and deserts although some deserts were stale and abit hard and unpleasant to eat the mouses were absolutely delectable the strawberry mouse is out of this world! The salmon that gets cooked in front of you is the best i’ve ever tasted! Staff are so lovely and don’t pester you for plates only when they see youre done with them then they will come and ask! Every Staff at the buffet had incredible service and we also tipped staff! the aesthetics in the buffet is unreal. Food was still hot and nothing was cold. I’ve seen so many mixed reviews about this place so we tried it out and my experience was unreal! i could say so much more about how good this place is. 10/10 Would definitely go again. i was concerned to go becuase of the reviews but most of them might’ve been on a bad day. I’m coming here next week again.(Stayed here for almost 5 hours and had around 20 plates! yes i can eat)

Food doesn’t get refilled so isn’t fresh. Most of the toilets out of order. No free drink refills so drinks are quite costly. Not as good as the other JRC venues.

They charge you separately for drinks. And don’t specify £25 on here.

Nothing special, the food was tasty but the price was too high. Desserts not interesting. At this price per person it's disappointing that all drinks have to be purchased separately. Plus for nice live music

OMG what A terrible place. Cold plastic plates to go with the cheap nasty cold food. The food had sat too long no taste no flavour sat in its own oil . Thank goodness the chef but a fresh pizza down which was ok ... How is this place still open charging all this money. The staff were all very friendly and didn't stop for a minute. Do not waste your hard earned money in there .

Good just a shame they Don't offer Refils on soft drinks like most other All you can eat restaurants I've been too.

I called this business to book a table, but before I could even finish my sentence, the person who answered hung up on me. When I tried calling again, they kept forwarding my call to voicemail. This is incredibly rude and unprofessional customer service.

Recent visit:The food was very nice , and the toilets needed spraying awful smell coming from them it was quite off-putting walking past them with food 😔

This restaurant is my top 3 for all you can eat buffet. There were various meat choices (Japanese, Chinese, Indian etc) I really enjoyed the Chinese bbq ribs, garlic grab, pilau rice, sweet and sour chicken, steak, lamb chops and the various shrimps. This was a treat for us on our vacation in Cardiff.

Came on a Monday so it was £25pp and it was still not worth the price. I've been to JRC Croydon and enjoy it there so was expecting the same standards. A majority of the food was cold, limited variety of food and desserts were all stale. Staff were inexperienced and pushy, coming to the table to collect plates whilst sitting and still eating. The music was bad and I saw multiple dirty dishes and cutlery in the clean areas.

This is genuinely the first time in my life where I feel a food place deserves one star. Bland, cold, terribly small amount of options. Stained plates and cutlery being put back to be used. I've been to other jrc restaurants before but never have I been to one where I finish before the 1h 30 limit. This place is TERRIBLE I mean even down to the elevator music they have on. The staff always constantly ask to take your plates / bowls even when you're still eating from them and you really feel that they're trying to squeeze as much money out of you as possible. Bartender didn't even know what an amaretto was and had to radio for help. And all that for £25

Terrible !!! Cold food and not replacing food when it ran out ! Never again but hey it was an experience. Think cheap Holliday hotel buffet and you’ll be happy I guess 👍

Food was okay, some mostly tasted like fish, it felt as though you were in a school cafe. I wouldn’t recommend for the price you pay and the food you get, I found that staff where in a rush a lot and in some instances felt rushed myself by them However the decorations where fantastic.

Car park not far good for me as I am disabled , food not very hot as in heat wise , a bit on the bland side , desserts we're like an all inclusive hotel in spain all different sponges but all tasted the same ,pouffeta rolls had no chocolate on them and icecream tasted of ice not creamy .

I've been going to Global buffet for years and, when it was down the bay, I never had a complaint. Went to the new venue tonight and it will be my last visit. 28 quid for cold food and empty serving trays. I usually enjoy the variety of curries they offer but in the 90 odd minutes we spent there the curry station remained devoid of curry, of any kind. As I said, sadly my last visit.

It’s our first time and last time the food was tasteless no tast at all , we tried the Indian not good we. Tried the Chinese and at the end the English food all was terrible , for £28 per person the food is bad I have stomach aches after ! Better go to another restaurant to get better food ! Their food was not good at all they don’t have any taste! It’s a waste of money !

The Chinese section was nice ( majority of food was chinese ) it wasn’t much there in Indian food ect. And I found the curry’s very bland and the majority of the times when I went back up the dishes haven’t been refilled. Honestly, I don’t think it’s worth £28 per person And after spending £140 for 3 adults and 2 children and my 2 youngest just ate chips and croissants !! Also, please be aware and when they say children’s prices, they will measure the height of your child and they over a certain height. They were charge you for the full adult price. Very expensive afternoon

Enjoyed the food, I suggest getting there for 5PM as it's freshly made food and lots of it. I don't imagine it would last well throughout the night. However, the plates are plastic and small (poor quality). Also the bathrooms are atrocious, there was liquids on the wall, smell of urine and dirty unclean which really brings the place down. Would visit again but there are improvements that need to be made to make it great - especially as it's quite expensive.

Curry was cold and flavourless. Other food was ok. I'm not sure eid call it a truely global buffet, rather a Chinese and east Asian buffet, with the odd other dish. Serving potatoes dauphinoise, doesn't make it a french buffet. Quality was seriously lacking and for £25 I could have gone to a chinese restaurant and ordered more than I could eat...... won't be coming back

Really not impressed with what we got for 27 pounds each and that was just food. Don’t get me wrong, city centre that’s a great price for all you can eat but after the first plate, which was lukewarm I really had no appetite for anything else. I tried the curries etc but again all lukewarm, how have food services not picked up on this , it has to be at a certain hot temperature surely. Won’t be going back. I wish I had read the reviews before going there.

Most expensive, worst buffet I’ve ever been to. Food was luke warm, saw on TikTok there was Mexican options which was the main reason we chose to come here, food wasn’t restocked the whole time we were there so if it ran out it was gone. Drinks were expensive and pints were dead. Never coming back.

Free birthday meal was lovely! Food is replenished very quick, serve all types of drinks at the bar and lots of food there you don't see in many global buffets

Was disappointed me my partner and my 9 year old son £81 for food as my son was 152cm. Sat at our table another £12 on the cokes that tasted like fizzy water. Food was cold tasted bland won’t recommend this to anyone. £93 for food I would not feed to a animal.

A real shame. We went here for my birthday, and I was really looking forward to it. I always loved the venue in Cardiff Bay but this didn't even come close. The food was cold and bland, the first thing we had was duck which tasted like it'd been out for hours. The food choices somehow seemed smaller than the previous location, with most of a country's cuisine being 2 or 3 dishes and some rice/noodles. The desserts were okay. The staff were friendly but the staff taking empty plates were like vultures and asked us if we had empty plates several times after we'd just sat down and were still eating from the plates. They were friendly but always there looking for a plate. The toilets were just gross. It was like walking into a nightclub, with metal troughs to pee in and each cubicle was complete with a sign reminding you that only one person was allowed in the cubicle at once.. classy. For £25 per person, with no drinks included and no option for a refill drink, I'd at least expect some decent food. A real shame.

Chose to eat here when staying in Cardiff for the night, was looking forward to seeing the new location after going to the old one down the bay before. Big mistake It was the worst and most expensive buffet I have been to £27 for luke warm/cold food yes there is a big array of foods but most of it is tasteless, the curries are watery, shredded duck was well overcooked, tables in the restaurant area are too close together, waiters take your plates as you are taking your last mouthful, the best bit about it was the pick and mix of sweets in the dessert section, I will not be going back again and definitely don’t recommend it.

We use to go to the one in Cardiff bay and it was good to ok as drinks were refillable and there were good selection of disks like dim sum and crab that you can not get elsewhere but the new location in city centre has changed everything. Cheap disks with poor quality and off the tape drink that tasted like flavor tap water at pub prices. @JRC branch managers and all JRC restaurant, people are not stupid and we are not here for you to enrich and to ripoff. Hope ppl especially in UK should start demanding better quality and services.

Went out for a staff meal for 9. Very convenient location (one block from the front of Cardiff Central Station). We were prompt registered in and shown to our table. Bar was reasonably priced and the food was excellent and good value for money. Plenty of starters, different meats, fish, Indian and Chinese food available, as well as a fast food and desert section with cakes, ice cream sweets and jelly. Everyone loved it We will definitely be going back. Great night out.

Where do I start.. Had a emotional experience at this restaurant on the 18th of December 2024... After phoning to book a table and for my boyfriends birthday (as we did the previous year, free meal and all that).. and being told that we didn't need to book we can just walk in. Grate I thought. No.. the restaurant decided it has moved location! 33 minute walk from the original place! Quick drive to new location and as it stated on Google open till 10pm. We arrived at 8.45 after a palaver of parking. Anyway gets there and finds out we can't get a free birthday meal as we needed to book in advance. Bare in mind I spoke to someone previously about this and they said we can walk in. 8.45pm getting to the restaurant absolutely starving and paying the £25pp, then to be told they shutting up food at 9.30pm.. Rite 45 minutes to demolish any meat or fish we can to make up for the £25 just spent. There was 5 of us so a quick £125 swiped from us. Between being seated 2 minutes walk from the buffet. Using bathroom and ordering a drink. We had about 20 minutes to eat. No lie we was like supermarket sweep running up and down the aisles. Balancing food like a game of buckaroo. Food was cold. Staff wanted us out before we finished food. Pints where foul. Gutted. Never again.

Have always been a fan of JRC Global for years and have always loved going to the site in Cardiff Bay so when I heard about a new site opening in Cardiff Stadium I knew I had to try it out. Overall, the only thing I liked about this new site was the interior of the entrance and the seating area. I don't know what it was when I went but the food kinda tasted different than the old JRC, not in a bad way but I remember not really feeling the food AND i also felt there's now fewer food choices. Another thing I'm not a fan of if the distance between the seating area and the buffet. I feel like it's too long of a distance whereas the old site, the distance was perfect as the food was right there next to you and I know I keep comparing but if you ask me, the old Cardiff Bay site was THE one. They also don't have refillable drinks like the last one too and you gotta pay either £3 or £4 for a coke😐 Sadly I won't be coming again (unless maybe they bring back refillable drinks...and more food so its an actual all you can eat buffet) don't waste your time and money.

Not much of a selection for people who are not into these types of food and to cap it all off no vodka at the bar.

Came here today for the first time, I am a wheelchair user and the customer service I recieved while having lunch with my daughter was amazing, staff were very accommodating and it is by far the best service I have ever recieved while dining out. I will definitely be coming back and bring my friends and family too. 💯 recommend.

I go there for the sushi and fish. I'm not disappointed by those. Considering the variety is amazing and it's a lot better than buffets I've been to in other cities. For change of location from the bay to the stadium it's the only downside for me, as I loved going there after a walk around the bay. And staff were more organised! Personal preference tho x

I went last Saturday first time for the new venue and returned again today, Previously down the Bay seemed to have gone downhill and new premises had some poorer comments. So after reading latest reviews I approached with an open mind and gambled with £25. The range of food was excellent, good quality for a buffet with 2 meat and 1 fish roast today although food was not as hot as I would like but containers full and fresh. Staff efficient enough but said very little and quick to remove dirty plates. Atmosphere slightly a production line although in a good city centre location. I would rate it better than most Cosmo and reasonably fair value for money

Great serve yourself buffet style food, loads of choice from steak, lamb chops or fresh fish on the tapanaki to a Sunday roast carvery and everything inbetween, and when you have had enough of mains there are desserts galore, highly recommend.

The quality and diversity of food on offer is excellent. The dining area feels a bit like a school canteen. Children really love the huge amount of different dessert options.

If I could give this ‘buffet’ half a star I would. How on earth are they charging £25 per person, plus paying for drinks it is diabolical. They claim they do ‘Italian ‘Mexican ‘Brazilian ‘Greek and many more when really it’s appalling and only serve a few of what they claim to do so.

Whilst staying in Cardiff for a few days we thought we'd go to JRC This was £25 per head and to say we were disappointed was an understatement the good was cold and the choices were not as extensive as other JRC locations that we'd been to also we thought that it wasn't well thought out the food they goes together wasn't put together e.g., the naan breads were with the vegetables over the farest side away from the Indian food .....we thought there would be a Chinese curry but nope not was there any satay chicken the food was cold and meat chewy and fatty the plates were small but worst of all plastic and not a pleasant experience at all especially for £25 per head couldnt leave fast enough

If you have a big appetite or just like trying lots of different foods this place is great. The Japanese section was the pick for me. The Indian was a bit disappointing as the food was not authentic and lacked punch and chilli hot. Staff were supper friendly and attentive.

Went tgere last saturday. Food was good but service wasnt great the waiter that was collecting the empty plates off our table dropped food twice on our coats and once if my husband didnt realise and moved quick it would of went all over him

The place is central and good for a day out. You can enjoy a relaxing walk outside the restaurant or sit outside and enjoy a relaxing moment with friends.

Very nice…most improved from when it was down Cardiff bay. Allot more selection of fresh food and the quality is a lot better

Very disappointed after coming here for my birthday. Came during lunch time and only around half food selection was available. The food that was available was cold and hard, did not enjoy at all. Not to mention since, Iv had a really bad upset stomach. Will not be returning or recommending

Went during lunch time for my birthday and was really disappointed. Hardly any food available (obviously they offer less during lunch time) and what was available was stone cold. Won't recommend or be returning, the only nice thing was the entrance area.
