Excellent food great service and atmosphere. Really enjoyed the food and we will be going again. It was quite busy when we went but the service was absolutely great.

Very good service, nice food, reasonable sized portions.. not too expensive and take your own beer and wine. Overall it was a nice meal. I would definitely return..

Visited on a Monday night and had the special menu which was really delicious. You can bring your own wine as they are not licenced so reasonably priced night out. The staff are so nice and make sure you have everything you require. The only downside is it's not really accessible. There are tables upstairs but it is a nicer atmosphere downstairs and the toilets are downstairs anyway so could be a problem for some people. We have tried a couple of Indian restaurants in Brid since and one was okay but we still prefer Joypur and will return for another great meal.

Ordered a potato and aubergine curry that was very disappointing. The potatoes were cut into large chunks, barely cooked and slightly rubbery. The aubergines were cut much smaller and extremely rubbery. The sauce itself tasted of tinned tomatoes and lacked flavour and there was no coriander garnish. I had a tarka dahl as a side dish and this was much better. I'm thinking this restaurant doesn't have any fresh vegetables at all.

I use this restaurant for a meal and also takeaway. The food is fresh,authentic, tasty- the staff lovely. Cannot recommend this restaurant enough!

My partner and I have visited on many occasions. The food is always hot, fresh and full of flavour with a wide variety to choose from.The service is always on point nothing is too much trouble for the team and we love the fact we can take our own drink. Cleanliness and decor are always pristine and the restaurant as really well presented. This is our favourite Indian restaurant and we will be visiting very soon again.

Always amazing food at Joypur. It doesn't look much from the outside and is on a small side street but the food is lovely and reasonably priced. The staff are always so friendly and attentive. We go each time we stay in Bridlington. You can also take your own bottle of wine (etc) as they don't have a bar.

If you are nostalgic for a 1970's Vesta Curry, this could be the place to visit. As someone with a mild allergic reaction to chilli which makes my head sweat (even though I love it) it was the first time I've eaten in an Indian restaurant and not needed to mop my head with a hankie. The starter, Prawn Pakora could have been cooked in one of the local chippies. Tasteless and in a hard overcooked batter that would have been disappointing surrounding a piece of cod. The expected, light, fluffy and spicy pakora batter one is used to, is clearly not on the chef's list of talents. The main, a new one on me, but calling itself a medium strength dish, Lamb Jaflong, hinted at some sort of spice but without heat. I've had more heat from a Ginster's Cornish pasty. The people on the next table, a family with 3 young children, who appeared to be eating chicken nuggets and chips, expressed their delight at the food and complimented the place. So, if I am ever looking for an alternative to a McDonald's I may consider this place. But as I don't like McDonalds, it is unlikely I will return. To quote form the classics. Not the most disappointing Indian restaurant I've ever come across. But it's in the top one.

Visited here tonight been before and it's been really nice and tasty Tonight however we ordered a chicken chatt chicken passandra with pilu rice and garlic Nan..we had chicken chatt and all the ones I've had at other Indian restaurants have come with a pancake...this one just came with chicken I've never had it like this before 😒 the passandra was a total let down very bland 😪 the Nan had no garlic in it or on it 😭..rice was ok but I found the whole meal was a let down we wont be back

Whilst in Bridlington with the wife we fancied a takeaway Indian meal so nipped in for a menu.. We decided to share a meal for one person for £15.00 and wasn’t disappointed with it and have to say there was enough to share and the food was excellent. We got the mixed kebab starter, chicken & lamb tikka masala, pilau rice, naan bread with two popadoms included. There was also salad and mint yogurt sauce. We both enjoyed it and will call again.

The food was excellent and very reasonably priced. Our curries were beautifully spiced and layered with flavour. Remember to take your own wine - no corkage and they even have a bottle opener! There's a shop very near selling alcohol if required.

The food was OK but we expect more from a restaurant curry. There is no alcohol licence which means no pint of draft Cobra or Kingfisher although they did do bottles of alcohol free beer it's not the same .

We'd searched for the best Indian dinner spot .. and then decided that this looked much better from outside.. and I'm glad we went in - despite a busy service on, service was fast, efficient, friendly and the food was great; probably the best curry I've had in a while! We went for the Eat out to Help Out Scheme which the Government is running to help out restaurants and sadly this place had exploited the offer to suit themselves which is a shame as in the past we had enjoyed been in here.We were told we had to order food to the value of £20 per person - THIS IS NOT WHAT THE GOVERNMENT SAYS - it says that 50 percent of your bill will be taken off up to the value of £10 per person , so basically we had a table of left over food , and to make matters worse i had added everything up exactly on a calculator and as per usual THEY OVERCHARGED US - THEY HAD PREVIOUSLY - WE LEFT WITHOUT SAYING ANYTHING NEVER TO RETURN .ALSO TO ADD SOCIAL DISTANCING - THAT WAS A LAUGH I COULDNT LEAVE MY TABLE AS THEY HAD PLACED OTHER DINERS SO CLOSE - A MAJOR LET DOWN , THE PLACE WAS JAM PACKED.

Where everywhere else local were booked out or saying that it would take an hour and a half to get served we found this place. They found a table for us; the food was excellent; and they served us promptly. Also halved the bill because of the Government scheme.

We visited for an evening meal, taking our own wine as it does not have an alcohol licence (which is brilliant as you can take what you want and you're not charged highly inflated prices for alcohol).. The food was amazing!! I was a little apprehensive as the front of the restaurant looks a little tired and worn. We had the passanda and tikka masala - both were delicious. Best peshwari naan I've ever had! Staff friendly. Highly recommend*****Negative: Take your own sanitiser (it is available near where you pay for the meal) but we didn't see it till leaving - and it's not offered at the door. During this pandemic we were concerned about door handles, stair banister and table - I'm sure it was fine, but we used our own sanitiser as many coming in for takeaways.

I have only one positive remark about JoyPur in my brief experience of ordering from them and that is they do seem like nice people. I really don’t like to leave poor reviews but a two hour wait for delivery is not acceptable and it didn’t seem to concern them greatly. At least the dishwasher had time to do a full cycle and dry the pots in time for the food to arrive.I hoped the food quality would save the experience but it was bland and lacking the depth of spices you usually find when ordering from a restaurant. Every dish was frankly completely underwhelming. This will be my first and last order.

Been frequenting joypur for years now. It has been the only place we use for indian food for several years now but the last few months it has been way below par,probably since the new menu came out. Prices increased, portions reduced and quality way way below par. It's such a shame. One of my favourite dishes was mixed meat shaslik- the king prawns in it were fantastic. Really disappointed to see the last time I ordered that there were no prawns, the meat was dry and tough. Sauce was really bland. I really hope this picks up again otherwise we will have to find a new go-to place.

In my opinion Joypur is the best Indian Restaurant and takeaway in Bridlington. They do all the usual currys and ones others dont do. If you are eating in its bring your own alcohol which we love

The staff were lovely and the place itself was clean and well maintained, however the one thing you want from a curry house is a good curry.I can only comment on the two vegetarian dishes we ordered, rogan josh and bhuna, both were really bland, both had fresh potato and tomatoes although I suspect the rest of the ingredients were frozen or out of a can, I defiantly will not be eating here again sadly

Although i live in Bridlington i come from Bradford this restaurant would not last very long where i come from. The surroundings are pleasant and the staff are friendly enough but the quality of food is poor ive had better curries out of a supermarket can. Not good value for money ime afraid.

My partner and I chose this restaurant on a whim as we were out looking for somewhere to eat. We weren't disappointed. We were seated quickly and presented with a menu. We were given poppadoms and dips as an appetizer, which were delicious. The starter and mains were also very tasty. All food was great quality, fresh and hot!

We had a lovely meal for 4 last night. We had their Monday night special with a few extras and again the chef didnt disappoint us. The restaurant was very busy which is good so would advise booking for the Monday special or you could miss out on a fab meal. Dont forget to take your own alcohol as they dont have a license, this is a good thing because it keeps the cost down. Will be going back again soon.

Ordered at 5:35 pm as a TAKEAWAY and taking the order was quick. They said that the food will arrive in 50-60 minutes which I thought was too long but it was worth the wait. I was iffy about the waiting time because of the previous reviews (being over 2 hours late) however the food came in time; less than hour- arrived at 6:20 pmThe food overall was very tasty and delicious. I ordered the 'Curry Set Meal C for 1' which I was expecting 5 items. All of them arrived with an additional 'questionable salad' with a pot of minty sauce. I didn't eat the salad as it only included 1 cucumber, 1 slice of tomato and a lot of lettuce all inside in a container. Although it was a bit disappointing it was an okay addition, it was the thought that counts :) I went to this restaurant before (Feb 2019) and i expected the same quality of food for takeaway. Which it was!!! The quality of service inside the restaurant was amazing as they were very professional to the giving of the food and ordering; Very respectful staff. Would i order here again?Definitely. Would I visit the restaurant again with a plus one or family?Yesss!!

excellent food, great variety, best Asian we have been to anywhere. Good atmosphere and staff are very attentive and helpful, very professional.The manager went beyond normal to help get a taxi due to my disability which was not easy as Bridlington Council have a very serious issue with the Taxi situation which is something that does need attention, but that is another story.

called in just after nine on Saturday for dinner again excellent meal made welcome and found us a seat although it was busy ordered meals and starter poppadoms were very crisp and pickles were plentiful the curries were very good, better than my local takeaway and they a good.

Visited Joypur for the first time on a Friday night. Central location and easy to find. It was fairly busy but we were greeted straight away and offered a table. We started with the poppadoms and pickle tray. We weren’t that impressed. The mango chutney was thin and watery, the two other pickles were OK. Starters again were ok. Main course, I didn’t enjoy mine at all. It was very very very sweet indeed. My husband thought his was better than mine.

Ordered my takeaway at 6.49 ,rang them back at 7.51 to ask where it was and was told its on its way.then rang them again at twenty past to tell them I didn't want the food anymore an hour and thirty five minutes after ordering.very poor phone customer service. Not happy :(

Went in after seeing the poster in the window. Explained that we were vegan and they told us that nothing is cooked in ghee and everything that was vegetarian on menu (apart from the obvious paneer etc) was vegan. They even swapped the mint sauce for extra onion massala. Excellent.

We come here regularly for the Monday night special menu. The food here is nearly always very good a d the only negative comment is that occasionally the curry is not hot enough i temperature. You may take your own alcohol.

We had a brilliant evening at Joypur. The service was attentive and just enough (not too intervening) we enjoyed poppadoms, starters, mains and took our own alcohol . They are more than happy to help open alcohol and offer glasses as it’s BYO.

After having an unpleasant encounter with a rival Indian resteraunt in the town for which I have reviewed separately I visited this resteraunt on the 7th July at about 2150 with my wife and grandchildren I was the only one eating the resteraunt was reasonably busy I had previously passed this resteraunt by as it did not have a food hygiene rating visible so was unsure although the owner of the pizza shop next door recomended it when my wife and grandchildren ate a pizza and burger.

Visited here with friends, if you are looking for tasty food and dishes that are different this is not the place for you. I ordered a lamb dush, this didnt taste like lamb and was exceptionally tough and chewy. 3 other verry different dishes were ardered and three of them apart from the corma had exactly the same sauce, all lacking in meat content and both the chicken and lamb overcooked. The nan breads were dry and lacking in taste. The rice was acceptable though we ordered 2 and 3 arrived. The prices are above average and for the price the quality and taste poor. If you are really into good quality curries this is not the place for you. On a positive note this is a bring your own booze and the restaurant appears clean, the toilets could have been better but by no means the worst in town. The bill total was expensive for a bring your own at approx £16 per head. Bizarrely enough the bill did add up. We have not tried other similar restaurants in town but compared to home this was pretty dire. Needless to say we vote with our feet. Not the place for us.

Just moved to Bridlington, and went to try the Monday night special set meal, 4 courses for £11.95. It was a bank holiday so the place was fairly busy, with a couple of large parties in, but I was seated and order taken quickly - no alcohol licence but you can bring your own no problem. Poppadums and pickle tray, starter ( in my case 4 generous pieces of lamb tikka ), main course ( chicken madras with pilau rice ), ice cream to finish. Food quality and quantity excellent, ditto the service, outstanding value, highly recommended.

On visiting Bridlington for the first time in many years it was great to see that our favorite Indian was still going. Had to see if it was still as good as it used to be and we weren't disappointed.

A really good flavourful curry, not overly hot, but really nice. The taste of Good quality ingredients do not need to be blown away by too much chillie or other spices. Friendly helpful staff and a relaxed peaceful family atmosphere.

Went here on the strength of trip advisor reviews and was not disappointed. We were greeted by a friendly member of staff and given a choice of table. On first impressions the restaurant did not look that good but pleasant surprises were to follow, once seated we were given menus and asked for drinks order and if we wanted poppadoms, we had the poppadoms and we're surprised by the amount of pickles. The food was plentiful and delicious, the service throughout was first class with attentive staff. If in Bridlington again will definitely be back.

Just delicious they had chicken korma I had jalfreziEverything hot piping hot spiced perfectly and the accompaniments where exactly the same delicious and fresh You can fetch your own alcohol if you require it or plenty of soft drinks to choose from. Came across the Joypur Indian walking through Town.Decided to eat here.Was Greeted nice and friendly and shown to our Table for two.After 15 minutes wondering why we hadnt been asked 'What would you like to Drink"we soon realised that theres no alchohol or wine served here.We opted in the end for non alcoholic becks.We chose the set meal for 2 people.From the Poppadoms and pickle tray.Sizzling Starter.Main course , Rice and Nan the food was Amazing we loved it.Be a good idea to tell guests though that theres no alcholic drinks.Lets not presume everyones a Local.Thumbs up though deffinatly visit again.(With our own Drinks.)

Called here on a Sunday evening when very quiet. Nice clean establishment which is not licenced, so you could take you own beer and wine with no corkage charge. Delicious food with much bigger portions than average, so much so we couldn't eat it all!

You carn't beat the joypur in bridlington for Indian food it is fantastic my wife and myself live in bridlington and have found this to be the best Indian restaurant in town , And we have tried them all and they don't come close believe me. The service is top notch and the staff are so polite they can not do enough for you. Plus you don't get ripped off with expensive booze ( because you take your own) I would advice you to have a meal here forget the rest joypur is the best !

I cant count the number of times we have eaten here. We've been as a couple, with friends and as a group and each time we've come home happy and stuffed. We stopped off one evening during the scooter rally weekend and had a bit of a shock when we spotted the drinks menu contained no alcoholic drinks. We were then charged for tap water, which is a terrible policy.The food was ok and service was good, but we wouldn't return.

We visited this restaurant on Monday evening and were lucky to get the last table for two as it was full. We have been here before and enjoyed the food very much. We were not disappointed this time either. The food is excellent with a very good varied menu. We took our own wine as they don't serve alcoholic drinks. The staff are very friendly and efficient. Considering the restaurant was full everyone seemed to be served in good time. The ambience is good and relaxing. We always make a point of visiting this restaurant when we are in Bridlington and highly recommend it.
