We came for some dinner on the 14th December - it was heaving!! The food was yummy but very very expensive for a burger that comes in a box and some non formal seating. I think 4 burgers with 2 large chip bags and some drinks came to £80+ So if you decide to come here , just keep that in mind. The atmosphere Is lovely though and staff were friendly. The farmshop was lovely but also pricey!

We came to enjoy Santa experience and Ice skating, which was great. Jolly the elf met us and we fed the lovely reindeer the moss. Santa was excellent and we enjoyed a glass of mulled wine whilst he entertained the children. We then toasted marshmallows. The skating was fun, although harder than on traditional ice. 30 mins was long enough for us. Fabulous evening had by all. Thank you Jolly Nice!

Jolly pricey trip to see Santa! £25 per child to sit with 6-8 other kids have a photo taken and given a marshmallow. A colouring book or something would have been suitable but nothing is ridiculous. Shop seemed nice very expensive but it’s stuck out a bit so it’s got a captive audience! Wouldn’t return sorry

I visited specifically to feed the reindeer. It was magical, even at the age of 60+. Jolly, the elf, was especially helpful; very knowledgeable about the reindeer and great with the little children in the group. The decor in the Hive Restaurant was beautiful with a roaring fire. Altogether, it was very festive.

The farm shop is lovely although prices are eye watering so do didn’t buy anything. We did eat in the restaurant section. Unfortunately I felt it was very overpriced, but also our beetroot burger was very salty, I don’t know if it was the burger itself or the slaw on the bottom, I like salt but this was extremely salty. Portions are small and overpriced. I don’t mind it being serviced in a paper bag like a take away but don’t price as if it was a restaurant. The place itself is lovely and the staff but sadly we will not be returning due to the prices.

Jolly bad experience in the cafe. Everything is served in paper cups and paper bowls even if you are eating in. The staff is disengaged , the food is underwhelming and very expensive . Sadly we won’t be returning to the cafe. We do love the farmshop though. Expensive , but good variety and the fresh orange juice is very nice. The machine for the orange juice is often out of service, but great when it works. Always check your receipt before you leave, as mistakes do happen often and I have been often overcharged. The loyalty scheme is nice to have.

Lovely sunny autumn afternoon. We came across the farm shop by accident, what a treat loved all the different shops and produce Had lunch in the outdoor Tippee which was good not outstanding nice glass of Hawstone lager. Donkeys were so friendly in the field, as were all the staff in the cafe & shops. Bought some lovely fresh produce. Definitely worth a visit.

Hugely disappointing visit to this cafe. It’s not worth the drive. It looks great, but the food is pre-made and given to you in cardboard packaging like you just bought it from the garage. I had a decidedly average £6.50 ham and mustard sandwich which was dry and had flavourless because it had came directly from the fridge. It had a label on saying it could be served until 8/8/24 but the lettuce was soggy and the crusts were hard on 2/8 so I dread to think what it would be like by then. The coffee was also in cardboard cups - average. The social media is good, but they seem unbothered about the customer experience or quality. A napkin, a plate, maybe even some appropriate recycling for all the packaging would elevate it. The young staff are having a nice time amongst themselves but seem disinterested - but then if you were handing out prepackaged sandwiches and bad coffee all day, I guess it’s hard to get invested. All four of us were disappointed in every aspect of this visit. We won’t bother going again and recommend that you lower your expectations, or don’t bother at all.

Two mocha frappes at £ 11.00. What’s happened to this place? We live locally and have visited both the shop and cafe frequently in the past. The new dining room is great, but the ordering system at the bar is really poor. Staff seem disinterested, rushed and untrained. Is there too much money going into building projects?

Purely down rated this due to my frustration with the signage in the place especially around the drive in. There is no clear ‘IN’ or ‘OUT’ signage for the drive in meaning cars are driving around the place not really paying attention to each other just looking how to get in or out. I mentioned this last time I visited hoping they would see I am trying to be helpful. Today we nearly had an accident as a car exiting the Drive in the wrong direction drove STRAIGHT AT US! C’mon chaps you’ve already erected a large ‘drive in’ sign since I last visited but you desperately need to add ‘IN’ and ‘Out’ with arrows! Do it now before there is an accident!

I have been coming here for the last few years, ever since I moved into the area, and I've always found it a great place. The staff are amazing... Friendly, helpful, polite, and they always make great coffee. The food is good and the produce is fantastic. Okay, it's not the cheapest, but they source locally where they can and the quality is always first rate. I rarely leave reviews, but this place, in my opinion, deserves every 5 star rating it gets.

Overall a very nice spot to spend some time with friends! The food was very tasty and the coffee was amazing! Was served in the cafe-tent esque area by a young lad with glasses and a gentleman with brown hair who both spent time talking to us which was lovely. The coffee was some of the best I have had in a while, I even went up for a second! The sandwiches were also very lovely, although a choice of bread would've been preferred. Unfortunately they did not have ceramics for plates or mugs, or metal cutlery, however the colleague at the till explained why, and it did make sense even though it deterred from the experience slightly. It was very hot in the tent on this day, so we sat outside in the end which was brilliant in the sunshine! We look forward to coming back, and hope you make the move to more homely crockery soon!

This really was a breath of fresh air when it started. Now there is the stench of decay, and yet it seems to keep on going. The attitude and MO is so typical with this sort of coin-eyed toff funded setup; they treat it like a cash machine while they swan around in Rangies and leave kids to take the flack, treating them like dirt too so that they are literally disinvested in the whole offering, though no doubt tales of the things that went on will be a formative laugh at uni later. I note that the snide rebuttals to fair criticism, which is thick and fast these days, has ceased. Maybe it's time to pull the plug for everyone's sakes?

Awful food and a very "spit n' sawdust" environment. I had a cauliflower cheese toastie and it looked like someone had vomited on two slices of bread and, I suspect, tasted somewhat similar! I had one bite and threw the rest in the bin. Jollys is my local farm shop and has always traded on its reputation for upmarket organic food but this cafe is pushing the boundaries of what the locals will accept. Its a glorified yurt with disinterested young staff and you can expect to fetch your own food, use wooden knives and forks, sit on uncomfortable chairs and then dispense with said food in the bin. And that's assuming you can find something on the very limited menu that you actually might want to eat. It cost me over £20 and it was inedible. This cafe is overrated, expensive and best avoided.

We had never been here before and was lured in by how attractive it looks from the road. We were staying nearby and so went in 2 times. My daughter bought a cake (honey with buttercream) it was vile, cake stale and buttercream greasy. At £4......just not worth it. We thought we were just unlucky, so went back for a bite to eat the next afternoon. Disappointed with tea in paper cups, everything in plastic tubs (mayo etc) and tough cold fries with stale sandwiches. I took all my things back and obtained a refund. One really efficient young girl on service, but the rest were unimpressive. Wouldn't go back and wouldn't advise anyone else to either. Had a better MacDonalds!

Very disappointing. Went to try out the newly extended cafe and left feeling very disappointed. They've upscaled the seating capacity, without seemingly adding to their staff, their facilities or their catering capacity. There's no table service, although there is a portable buzzer to tell you to come and collect your food. So one of you heads off to grab a table, while the other stands and waits for your hot drinks. For us this took about 20 minutes for a tea and a coffee. Why not use the buzzers for drinks as well?? At least then you can come and collect your drinks when they're ready, rather than being separated and having to wait. Or better still, bring the drinks to your customers. All you need is a few numbered wooden spoons. But it felt as though, even with the expense of the new cafe, corners are being cut to save money. More staff = more expense, but happier customers. All the food is served in brown bags and the sausage bap only had one and half sausages in which seemed rather cheeky. Where did the other half of my sausage go? It didn't appear in the bacon and sausage bap, because despite it being a large roll, only had two halves of sausage! The tea when it came was watery and insipid and the coffee wasn't what we'd ordered, but we'd waited so long for it to arrive we couldn't be bothered to send it back. It's such a shame the food and service isn't what you'd expect from a well known and established venue. Owners - you already struggled to serve people in summer with only one coffee machine. How do you expect it to come with an extra 100 or so covers?? Your kitchen struggles to cope in summer, so what are you going to do to avoid even longer queues now your capacity has increased so much?? We want you to win, and be commercially viable, but this new venture isn't going to do anything other than annoy your customers and drive them to the other well established cafes in the area, unless you improve the experience.

Lovely location and set up but a few things let it down. I had their sausage and bacon bap which was clearly made from high quality produce but was let down by being served lukewarm at best. I was eating in but it was served in a takeaway type paper bag. My cappuccino was lovely but served in a paper cup although as mentioned I was eating in. I assume they are trying to cut down on washing up etc but it does detract from the experience. If they got the above mentioned things right it would be a 5 star venue!for sure!

Looks so lovely from the road, but I don't really understand why this is so very average. Did the drive thru, which took forever! Three hot drinks and three cakes, took 20 minutes and the staff could not have cared less. Zero smile or even a greeting - left us sat at the window (with window closed) and were determined not to engage. Such an easy principle, but done really badly. What a shame! And to top it off...coffee was lukewarm!

Lured back by the poorly written press release for their new cafe. Haven’t been for a year or so as it really went downhill when they opened the bigger and ‘better’ drive thru. The new cafe is very Stroud, lots of wood, dogs and cyclists. Hoped things had improved after the supply chain issues of 22-23. Unfortunately not. No queuing system, it’s like trying to buy a pint in busy pub on a Saturday night. Ordered two coffees and a bacon bap. Took twenty mins for the bap and 35 mins for the coffees.

Disappointed doing this review but felt it needed to be said, as a family we visit Jolly Nice a few times a month, always pick up a few bags of James coffee which is fantastic as well as some other nice bits and pieces, meat from the butcher, then after we always have a JNB burger, fries and a hot drink from the drive through, I’m not sure what’s happened but the burger we had Valentine’s Day was definitely not up to the usual standard, the roll was very dry and crumbled and the burger was not as meaty or tasty, I’d actually bought some to take home as I usually only buy the burgers from here as they are so good but even the ones I’ve cooked at home didn’t taste the same and the amount of fat that came away was awful, perhaps with the cost of living, cuts have been made but I’m not sure you are doing the right thing if the quality is going to drop, think we’ll give it a miss for a little while and hope things improve

We called in for a coffee and a snack on our way home after shopping in Cirencester. We went through the drive through and ordered 2 large Latte’s, a sausage roll and bacon bap. We were very disappointed with the food. It was mid afternoon and we think the food may have been sat there for a long time, my sausage roll was very dark at the ends, over heated hard pastry. The bacon was also well cooked or sat under a heat lamp for too long. The Latte’s were ok although it was a small paper cup and that was meant to be a large. We try to support local, but when the quality is not good, It makes you think twice, we paid £18 and no it was not worth it.

A very disappointing visit. The pulled-pork ciabatta was served in a burger bun. It was presented in such a way that it could not be eaten elegantly or without becoming covered in food. Opening the box revealed a fatty, gloopy concoction which would not look good had we photographed it. The scotch egg and cheesy fries were luke warm, and not very appetising. The strawberry milkshake was a grey, mean cup of nothingness. Not fit to be described as a milk shake. Normally a joyous experience. We have no issue paying our hard-earned cash for good, nourishing and attractively served food. But today we felt totally ripped off. Over the years we have been loyal and quite regular customers of Jolly Nice. Sadly that loyalty has gone unrecognised today

Arrived for coffee and breakfast. Told to join a ‘drive through’ queue. Lots of big cars chucking out exhaust fumes into the Cotswold air, laced around depressing wooden sheds that look like something from a concentration camp. A menu board boasted sausage sandwiches on sourdough bread, and not much else for breakfast. When we eventually reached a face in a hole in the wall, we were told the sausage sandwiches were ‘all sold out’ and given a smug smile. In a confined queue of cars, there’s no possibility of turning around and going somewhere else - you’re basically trapped. We then waited for AGES in the smoggy queue for coffees and more smug smiles. We bought a venison pie in the eye-wateringly expensive shop which, when we got home, we discovered was out of date. We sent a message to complain via their website (no phone number visible) but received no reply.

Visited during our stay in the cotswolds and thought it was brilliant! We used the drive through and had two toasties, which were generous in size. We also had a sausage roll which was huge and tasty, and two of the chocolate brownies. Without a doubt the nicest chocolate brownie we have tasted! We had a lovely walk round the farm shop after we had eaten our lunch on their picnic benches. Worth a stop!

I’ve been wanting to stop here after reading good reviews. Planned a bike ride to stop here and just ordered a couple of teas, flapjack and a cookie. Tea was horrible, not brewed properly, flap jack and cookie were not fresh, very sweet and just horrible. Also surprised that there was nowhere really to perch for cyclist. Don’t think I’ll be going back again

We’ve been customers since the Airstream and bar stools in the old petrol station. Having spent time away from the area, it was a major disappointment to come back to soggy sausage rolls and an overcooked scotch egg whilst being charged a fortune in the process. Complaints directly to management have seemingly fallen on deaf ears hence the poor review - a family visit sees not much change from a £20 note nowadays.

Its not often I can actually be bothered to write a review but this has annoyed me so much I have, .2 x £5.95 sourdough 3 cheese and caramelised onion toasted sandwich...1. both were burnt. 2. The bread was sliced so thinly that there was nothing to soak up the fat of the cheese.3. The sandwich was flat, the filling was the thinnest that you could get away with and still call it a filling, imagine buttering a bit of bread, that thin 4. the caramelised onion was missing in action. The taste was of burnt grease and strong cheddar.. basically awful. Both were binned after eating half..In total 2 coffees and two sandwiches £19 and I am still tasting the thing 2 hours later, I suppose that's some sort of value for moneyEat here if you have lost all grip on sanity.

I appreciate they have adapted their business for covid, however, if you wish to make this a drive through I suggest resurfacing your road! we bought two coffees and had them placed in our cars cup holders, as soon as we pulled away from the collection point both coffees were being spilt out and continued to do so until we were on the main road. Utterly ridiculous especially for the prices of the coffees to probably only have half to drink and the rest to clean up in our car.

I don’t come here for a cheap stop by, I come here for a lovely treat with good quality food. Adore their cinnamon swirls and they are huge so big enough to share. I love their coffees, tastes like full fat milk so again a lovely treat! And those scotch eggs!! When I want quality meat, veg, dairy and have the money to spend I will come to the shop here. You pay for what you get and people need to remember that. Yes it’s a shame you can’t order food on foot anymore but their reasons for not be able to walk round the drive through makes complete sense. It’s health and safety. Minor things like regularly sold out items is the reason for the 4 stars but obviously they are just really popular. Thanks for carrying on through the pandemic in the safest way possible!

I had a problem* (due to a supplier's product) which I purchased before Christmas, and the problem didn't materialise for a week or so. After filling out Jolly Nice's on-line contact form with the required details, they resolved the problem promptly and professionally. Can’t fault after sales service provided.*We can all encounter a problem when purchasing goods and services, and although unwanted, they do show, in how the problem is resolved, the true colours of a company.

Jolly well ripped off. We were told by our hosts At Westley Farm that this place was a pretentious overrated and overpriced farm shop with a kitchen. Well, Dan and Ali, you can now say I told you so!

Excellent butcher and recently extension includes frozen fish and artisan breads. It’s not an everyday shop but the produce is fresh and good. Warm Scotch eggs and sausage rolls delicious. Servers seem to be different each visit- some are students from RAC and can be a bit ditsy.

Having used the kitchen at the Jolly Nice for quite a few years ( and having previously given a positive review) I was disappointed when visiting recently after a forced break to find the servery displaying boxes of fruit and the yurts filled with a selection of large plants. I'd phoned ahead to ask what changes had taken place since Covid-19 restrictions were applied and was told a number of outdoor tables were available if we used the drive through. What was not expected was to be greeted by the elf 'n safety excuse rolled out by many advising we could not park our motorcycles and walk through but we could perhaps balance our orders on our tanks as we rode through. Ridiculous. An alternative suggestion was to place our orders in our top boxes - an operation that would have required us to get off the bike. Again - ridiculous. Not thought through and clearly shows the priority is the rather expensive Farm Shop with only lip service paid to regular customers of the kitchen - despite the owner's contrary stance in an earlier review.I tried to avoid a rant here but feel somewhat aggrieved having been a regular customer for so many years. These restrictions may (hopefully) be in place only temporarily but my current stance on patronage will be permanent I'm afraid.

Good that it stays open until 7pm for a drive thru coffee but very expensive compared to any other place we know. Mocha not too bad though. Staff very polite

Having used this place as a cycling stop for some years I was utterly dismayed to find that pedestrians cannot get food or drink unless in a car or straddling a bike.I had agreed to meet a work colleague for coffee and a meeting.Refused service as I was not in a vehicle. When I explained that I had previously been served when on my bike the staff member advised me to "get your bike then". My colleague and I left. I will not be returning.

I came the other day with my mum, dad and little sister after someone recommended it to us. Nice place with a plant shop and food shop. We did the drive though for lunch, good quality, delicious products but a little bit expensive. Would recommend to anyone who wants some nice lunch, thank you!!

Just been to Jolly Nice.....and it was Jolly Hot! It is 35c today and there was nowhere to sit in the shade and enjoy our drinks. I asked staff if they had umbrellas but was told they blew down and broke last year....so my friend and I sat on a piece of discarded wood which was Jolly Uncomfortable! in the only bit of shade we could find....next to the compost dump! Come on guys no one can sit in the open on a day like this! Shame!

Since COVID 19, the cafe has offered a drive through service, which is pretty good. Coffee is nice, decent variety of sweet and savoury and a nice area to sit outside. Sometimes the service can be slow, but that’s due to the additional safety steps being taken.

Yes, very good but such a pity the pork steaks have too much fat on them and the mince appears to contain too much pumped water. I did a chilli con carne, thinking I'd put in too much mince I realised shortly afterward the amount had frizzled down to approx a third of its original! Highly recommend the divine faggots wrapped in bacon and the burgers (before freezing cut in half, they are so huge half a burger will fit into a bap or betwixt two slices of bread).

My wife and I were staying on the Caravan and Motorhome camp site,we booked in the pub for Christmas day dinner and we must say we had an excellent dinner very reasonable priced, the staff were really friendly and efficient. We will definitely call in again when in Moreton in Marsh and say hello to Wayne.

Had a very nice meal here, celebrating a birthday. It was a blessing to find a restaurant that wasn't enforcing a Christmas menu and music. Not being local we had no knowledge of the area, so this was a pleasant surprise. We had a great time, the staff were friendly and helpful and we didn't feel rushed to vacate our table. The food was great and good value. Very happy with the overall experience and will be booking again.

Such a great find. Lovely, clean room in a quiet spot. Continental breakfast was perfect with some great little touches such as homemade jam. Well worth the money and I hope to come back again soon.
