Too modern for my taste but the pub had a nice "facelift" since I was there last. Beer is expensive. £ 3.95 for a pint of bitter ffs!

Very friendly customer service where despite being a very busy Saturday night I got served quickly and efficiently. Good selection of beers and it had my favourite.It has a Big Screen for the sports and it has plenty of choice for customers with Darts and Pool available for those who like sport.

Been here a couple of times now and have to say the landlady is very attentive and makes you feel welcome. She's friendly remembers names and orders the other clientele are all friendly and it's a good pub with a pool table, football and music. Worth a trip

I was recommended the jolly by a friend about 4 years ago, the staff are very good, the landlady is friendly and very welcoming, alround the best pub I have ever been in. Would highly recommend.

They said, "You're barred!" I said, "Why?" They said, "We don't have to give a reason." I said, "Give me back those chocolates." They said, "We've already eaten them." I said, "You've stolen my property!" They said, "*CK OF*" I don't think they liked my defense of Greenwood!!

Don't visit often but I understand it's Rich in history especially when in 1826 2 men booked a room in the Jolly Carter with the intentions of robbing the safe but a servant, Elizabeth Bates had her throat slit by the fleeing men who were later hanged for the crime...

Lovely pub, nicer inside than the outside suggests. Bit of a palaver getting out if you drive. Food was nice and staff were mostly nice, there was one lady who just gave me the glass bottle, no glass or ice but the older lady was lovely and asked the usual questions you'd expect so you got your drinks the way you wanted them.

Well it was Christmas eve...although drinks are reasonable...there was music in the background..was that loud..you could hardly talk...been in there a couple of times..an it's always the same...so not keen...xx

It is a lovely place after the referb the lady behind the bar was on the phone talking doing other jobs for half a hour while another member of staff came and creamy potatoes were lumpy

I love the atmosphere in here. Perfect for a variety of uses, couples, families and parties! Friendly atmosphere and always responsive to customers needs. The environment is top quality, beautiful, too quality. Very modern.Pool tables good. Also lovely customers who are always friendly- no nonsense. 100% would come here. Car parking and outside seating available, well maintained. Would definitely recommend.

Me pasó por un amigo después de trabajar con y noté que había en el menú de tapas. Soy amante de las tapas y bocadillos que opté por varias tapas. Fueron bien preparado y sazonado particularmente la de gambas, que como todos sabemos puede ser muy impredecible. También tuvimos albóndigas, estaban muy bien también servido con una salsa de tomate. La comida era muy agradable y nos encantó. El personal era atento pero discreto. El ambiente era agradable y acogedor. Yo se comer allí de nuevo pronto.

Tenía una gran tarde en el pub hoy con mis padres el Día del padre. La comida era adorable. Recomiendo el plato de carne. sizzling Esta fue mi primera visita, ya que había sido reformado. Bien merece una visita. Personal muy amable y acogedor y comida a un precio razonable. Es un pub muy agradable.

We came to the Jolly Carter with Family on Bank Holiday Monday, how disappointed we were, we had various meals, & each meal there was faults, For instance, Fish & Chips costing £8.95, I could of counted the chips there 12, peas there was bowt half a dozen peas, then there was a fish plonked on top, this was a kids meals not an adults & not worth the money, the toastie I had very soggy in the middle the crust was rock hard, cdnt even get get that right, the skinny fries what came with it was under cooked & very greasy. The burgers pink in the middle, under cooked, greasy, handful of chips again. Bar staff extremely slow, the menu is very sparce, not a lot of choice. For JW Lees to have spent such a lot of money on a refurb, I thought you would have had a lot more choice on the menu. For this being a first impression of the new Jolly Carter it was a real let down, I don't think me or my family will go back.

El Jolly Carter ha sido reabierto tras una reforma masiva y bien merece una visita. La decoración es ahora genial, moderno, elegante y con un toque de industriales. El personal es amable y acogedor, y realmente queremos este lugar para trabajar! La zona exterior es limpio y elegante, ideal para una cena soleado y bebidas. La comida era deliciosa y muy bien presentado y preparado a la orden. Espero que este lugar se lleva a cabo!
