JoJo-Aalay in Trafford

We booked online and received confirmation for a party of 4 ( 2 travelling some distance) We arrived at the booked time and the restaurant was closed ( dark, no people and sign on the door to say Closed). We had to let our friends down and find another restaurant having not booked) I phoned later and a guy insisted they were open ( although he was not at the restaurant). He said the manager would call me which he did not. Unprofessional and rude.

Having visited, very surprised at most of the reviews here. Food was obviously reheated - including chicken- and we had 3 different sauces that looked slightly different but tasted the same. Lamb chops were really just fatty and tough. Vindaloo was same heat as other sauces ordered. Chicken was served with a weird glaze. Only 2 people working in there and wouldn’t surprise me if they were also the chef ( with the help of a microwave). Really disappointed because we went on the basis of other reviews and the hope of some authentic Nepalese food.

I couldn't understand why this restaurant was so quiet on a Saturday. The food was excellent, really tasty, inexpensive and a change from other fare available in Altrincham. So, come on locals, I urge you to support this restaurant!!

Excellent food and great service. This place is consistently brilliant. We had mixed grill and dumpling starters followed by mains. Every dish spot on.

Never been here before and very local. Very impressed, the food was really good, full of flavour and fresh and very tasty. The staff were very attentive, loved the chocolate toffee treat at the end. Thanks, we will definitely return 😊

Great little Nepalese restaurant, we were well rewarded for venturing just a few steps beyond the main street of Altrincham with delicious fish fry, okra starter, momos, and curries. Friendly service and very reasonable prices. My favourite was the fish starter, light batter and well spiced (not too spicy!), cooked perfect. Give them a go!

Four of us enjoyed great authentic Nepalese cuisine at good prices. Service was friendly and prompt. There as a small mix up with the order (chicken versus lamb) but this was quickly rectified. Happy to recommend to others.

I came here on a whim and glad I did. I had the Gurkhali garlic spicy curry with chilli naan and both were fantastic. The meal was freshly cooked and the flavours reflected that. Staff were friendly to make the experience better.

We went for an evening meal and wanted cocktails but for some bizarre reason they only had mojito and none of the others that were listed on the menu so had no choice but to go with it. The drinks took a long time to arrive even though the place was pretty quiet. The interior decoration and ambience is quite cosy but it felt very cold. I wanted to try a traditional Nepalese dish so went for the Dal Bhat with chicken. The menu showed it with one chilli so I thought I was playing it safe as I know the Nepalese take their spice quite seriously. It came presented very nicely but everything was super spicy. Even my friend who loves spicy food and can handle heat very well agreed it’s definitely not a ‘one chilli’ dish. Was quite disappointed with this as I couldn’t enjoy it, but luckily my friends helped me finish it so it didn’t go to waste. I think they need to change the one chilli rating so it’s not misleading. My friends tried the other authentic Nepalese curries and they really enjoyed it and I do agree it tastes very nice but just too spicy for someone who doesn’t like too much chilli.

This is the second time we have eaten here and again it was lovely. The food was great. Having a choice of Nepalese and Indian marks this restaurant our from the other Indian restaurants in the area

We really had a wonderful time at Jo Jo Aalay in Altrincham. Food was really good and served hot. Presentation was quite nice. All the staff really made us special. And even the Manager came to us personally all the time to make sure that we are enjoying and comfortable. Lovely people and lovely restaurant.

Two couples went there last night. Every one of us enjoyed the food. Briyani was delicious. Daal makhni and morgh malai were so so tasty. The ambiance is not as good as expensive restaurants in Hale but if you are going for food this is the place. The prices were reasonable. Would recommend it.

Food was excellent, quite hot for us, probably go mild not medium next time, but so delicious, especially the gyosas, okra and house fish curry. Nice it was quite busy on a Thursday in January. Super service and nice touch with the complementary mint tea and toffee at the end. Good value too

Friendly service, really tasty food and a nice chilled atmosphere! Everything tasted so fresh, I was worried about the size of the menu but everything from curries and crispy buttery paratha to Asian noodles were all delicious, will definitely be back!

Probably the best curry I've had in years! So good so, that I spent the whole of the next day thinking about it! Just spectacular! The service was very friendly and the prices were reasonable. I would highly recommend to anyone in the area.

Great place to try out new Asian dishes. If u like spicy food try the dish Chicken Vindaloo. My go to dish would be Momos.

JoJo allay meaning big brother and little brother is run by a chap from Nepal and his partner from Hong Kong . They are very engaging and helpful with your selection of their excellent fusion dishes. Try the veg and gyoza and the Japanese prawn...

There is various types of food item and good parking area in sainsbury’s after 4pm. And there is vegan menu also available for vegan and quiet good for lunch and dinner.

Great place to dine and great variation of foods. Specially good if you are planning to try out Asian food.

Tried out this place last night. Had heard good things but was disappointed. After being shown a table we eventually had to ask for menus and drinks. The real issue though is the food. I suspect they are trying to cover too many Asian cuisines....
