Locanda in Trafford

Really enjoyed our meal at Locanda last weekend. Food was hot and very tasty. Relaxed atmosphere and great service from Ben who was attentive without being annoying. will definitely be back.

I just been impressed, not like other italians in uk, the standard is attentive and friendly, my girlfriend found this place plenty of comfort, food is the classic and original, we had a sharing Mushroom Bruschetta garnished with truffle oil and tasty cheese and fritto misto, excellent taste and fresh, especially with the nduja.. So delicious. We where curious of the tagliolini pasta with lobster, that was outstanding taste, you can ask to add more chilly if you like, and mix grill of fish for one.. Next time will come back for the Scallops and the lobster thermidor .. there are very few places in uk the still making this tasty dish..I recommend this Locanda Altrincham, my girlfriend choose this place for ever, what you can do?

We had a delicious early evening meal at Locanda. The staff were very helpful with our toddler and we felt very welcome with a child. The food was unpretentious classic Italian food, which was simply delicious and affordable. We will be back for sure.

I’d been traveling around England and was craving Italian food and I was very lucky to get a recommendation for Locanda while in Manchester (Altricharm). I had the Tagliatelle Funghi with homemade egg pasta, which was delightful! Never expected to have fresh egg pasta like the kind you find in Italy here in Manchester. My friend had the Risotto Mare which was cooked to perfection and there was a good risotto to seafood ratio. The restaurant has great service, knowledgeable staff (who gave great recommendations), wonderful wine list, and the pricing was good especially for the quality of the cuisine. My compliments to the chef and cooking staff, this is a VERY authentic Italian restaurant and very much worth a visit. I’m part Italian and I’m picky about my pasta, at Locanda they cook their pasta and risotto the way you should according to Italians...al dente! I’m definitely going to make Locanda my go-to Italian restaurant whenever I travel back to England.

Authentic fresh Italian food! Nice location, very friendly staff, I highly recommend the fresh pasta and the tagliere! The wine is another pro - all the wines are amazing!! La Locanda is a hidden gem in Altrincham - a real Italian experience! You can find here fresh burrata, mozzarella di bufala, grilled meat, grilled fish, amazing fresh pasta, and amazing desserts! Definitely one of the best place you can find in Altrincham, and the best Italian one for sure! Staff is friendly and competent, and the chef is extremely experienced and all the food is fresh and authentic! Definitely recommending it! :) Super raccomandato!!!

We hadn’t booked anywhere to eat as it’s January and it’s usually quiet, we also didn’t know what we wanted as a cuisine but something about this place drew us in. We walked past Locanda and as there wasn’t a menu out side (I’d recommend that they put one in the window or on the usual stand in future if they can) so we popped in and had a look. Similarly to a previous comment I’ve read, the plastic menu is a little of putting but we got a friendly vibe and they had what we wanted on the menu. We booked and came back after the cinema. As the decor was mentioned in previous comments I’ll let you know what we thought; I would describe it as a bit of a mix match between modern and trattoria. Personally I would choose to run and totally own the trattoria vibe (including an updated playlist adding in some Frank and Dean and removing Kylie). Before leaving we were told that they plan to renovate the place so I’m sure by my next visit (or the one after) the place will have been done up. The Food, the important part. We had a lovely tomato bruschetta (£5) to start with; the bread was toasted to perfection, the level of garlic was spot on and the tomato and basil were fresh. It was delicious. The main. There was enough time between the starter and main to let that settle a little and not feel like we’ve been forgotten which can happen in many restaurants these days, so thumbs up! We had the Lasagna (£12) - I’m very fussy with my lasagna, I don’t like it too dry and I certainly don’t like it without a decent level of cheese. For me, the fact it came out on an ovenproof dish and the sauce in the dish bubbling, that’s a win for me. The lasagna was lovely. We had a side of chips (3.50) too (we were hungry) and I loved the fact they were cut from the potato, chunky and fluffy. The drinks. I drank Prosecco and at £4.50 a glass it was worth it. My partner drank the large Malbec at £7.95. Will I go again? Yes. Would I recommend the food? Yes. How was the service? Friendly, left you alone enough to enjoy your time but tentative enough that you weren’t having to wave them over. The place is family owned, it’s not a chain and I like that and we should support our local and independent businesses.

First time eating at Locando. We had walked past before and decided not to go in as it was not busy but this time the restaurant had a few tables with customers at around 18:30 and we needed to grab something before going to the cinema. The food was ok but the restaurant is massively let down by it’s cheap interior. The lighting is too bright, loud music plays out across the restaurant which is not appropriate (I had to sit through a rendition of the ‘Oops upside your head’), many of the tables are plastic and some of the pictures (in the toilets at least) are from when the place previously was a burger bar. If you are going to spend £60 per couple on a meal (and we only had one drink each) and given the local competition, you expect something that is more professionally presented. So will not be back.

At first I wasn't sure but by the time the food arrived we had fallen in love with this place, the chef came out to greet us and recommended a fantastic wine which we enjoyed far too much!! We could not fault the food, the only thing we didn't like was the plastic menus which we did mention and they are going to change. We eventually lefty at 1am!! Nothing was too much trouble, fantastic guys well done.

Genuinely the worst food i’ve ever eaten (including my own!). Half the wine list was unavailable, food’s expensive and the veal was like an 8 year old had cooked it. Risotto looked like paella, unbelievable. In fairness the owner refunded all main courses. We had to cancel Sugo because our party size increased. Chalk and cheese springs to mind.

I was here last Saturday with a group of 8 people ... and I have to say that the food is just fantastic, I could finally eat the real Italian carbonara. Friendly reception and the staff is always attentive to customer needs.
