Johnny's Plaice in Warwick

Cannot recommend enough. I moved to the area and was living in temporary accomodation for a month until I was able to find something else closer to my workplace. Moving out this weekend. This lovely fish and chips place will be really missed, certainly wont miss my landlady... Nor my room. A pleasant surprise just around the corner from the Brunswick st, lovely staff, very fresh food and reasonably priced. Iam vegetarian. Tasty veggie burger at a great price you wont find elsewhere. Lovely chips and everything else. ❤️🙏

Standard fare food but very good standard. They manage queues very well and cook in batches to have best level of freshness. Good local trade means there is a lovely atmosphere helped by the staff smiling and chatting to customers. Totally recommend.

Only decent chippy in leamington

Have been going there for years and recommended it to many but last Friday will be the last time. Do not know what change’s they have made but the chips were awful. Could be potatoes or oil they are using but I did wonder at the time why nobody was there as used to be busy all the time. Such a shame.

First time here. Worth it. Freshly cooked Haddock and chips. Great service in a very busy establishment. Will go back and would recommend highly!

I live in Radford Semele. I used to get chips at Pete’s Plaice in Sydenham, but their chips are often undercooked. So I did a google search and discovered Johnny’s Plaice, where the food is superior, fish and chips are excellent. Highly recommended.

Our Meal last night was awful Crushed fish was I in bits Pie all broken up When lcalled the. the lady was very rude on hone Sorry guys not a retur n visit to this chippy but l do not think that worries you

Great chip shop mega sized portions and a very varied menu Service very good but be prepared to wait a little at certain times being very popular. Highly recommend you won't be disappointed.

Best fish and chips I have tasted in a long time. Good sized potions freshly cooked. Prices are very affordable. The place is clean and tidy and the staff neatly dressed in clean uniforms. So friendly and helpful. Parking isn't a problem. Will most definitely be back.

Was in the area and typed in best fish and chip shops , and Johnny's place came up , it's out of town , which is good because parking was not a problem as it in a mini shopping precinct, surrounding a housing estate, would recommend this chip shop as the food was good , freshly cooked , as the food was piping hot, and very tasty. If putting in the sat Navigation please trust it as you would think it's taking you somewhere else , and suddenly there it appears, so if you don't want the hassle of parking in Leamington spa, and you are prepared to drive 5 minutes out of the town , this is the place, but to be truthful would come here again anyway, as it's a very good restaurant.

A great good old fashioned chippy , I've tried most in the area at the moment this one is the best plus it's still affordable so a big thumbs up that they are working hard at keeping a takeaway still an option for a weekend treat.

First time I have been, my daughter recommended to me, spotlessly clean, two lady' be hide counter looked very smart in uniform spotlessly clean, we ejoyed our beautiful fish lovely batter nice white fish, will be going again,

A decent, if not standard chippy

Was recommended this fish and chip shop, huge mistake. I was really disappointed, had to wait outside the shop for 15 minutes. The order was wrong, but didn’t find out until I got home . The donna meat was horrible the whole order was just terrible. Never again.

We were told about Johnny's Chippie from my father, so we thought we would order Cod & Chips just now, with a small cod, the food was 😋 delicious, not greasy or soggy chips...will defo visit again. The ladies were lovely in there too.

I travel 50 miles each way to visit, because no one else comes close to the wonderful fresh tasting Cod. It's delicious! The staff are friendly and very accommodating to telephone orders so its made to order when I arrive. My sister and family lives nearby, and we all enjoy the fresh food choices available and wouldn't consider going anywhere else.

meat and chips orders one with ketchup and one with mayo, ended up with ketchup and mayo on both!! Mushy peas were flavourless and watery, fish was on the small side with under cooked batter. Overall dissatisfied!!

Best fish and chips in 10 miles easily. The staff are lovely and the products are always fresh and to a high standard. Be warned you may have to queue out of the door on Friday though 😉

FOOD IS GOOD, BUT THEY SAY OPEN UNTIL 10PM, IVE JUST BEEN IN AT 8.25PM AND THEY CANT BE BOTHERED TO COOK SOME CHICKEN BECAUSE THEY WANT TO CLOSE, GOOD FOOD, SERVICE RUBBISH. I ASKED IF THERE WAS "ANY" CHICKEN , THE ANSWER WAS NO, NOT, WHAT CHICKEN WOULD YOU LIKE, WE CAN POP SOME IN, REF- CLOSING TIMES, IF YOU WANT TO CLOSE WHEN YOU FEEL LIKE IT AND NOT STAY OPEN UNTIL THE ADVERTISED TIME , 10PM, THATS UP TO YOU, ITS YOUR BUSINESS, BUT CHOOSE A TIME , 8,9 ? First time trying here last night and it was great. Very clean establishment, all the staff looked smartly dressed and all had a smile on thier faces. The food portions are huge and tasted great and everything was priced very well, for the amount of food you get it was brilliant value. Will definitely be coming here again. (Mayb not when there has been a crash on the m42 next time though, took well over an hour to get there from warwick!) Cheers again
