Not been to the johny Pye for over 15 years went in to kill time as we were waiting for the bus to Liverpool. On entry I was surprised to see it was as dead as a dodo then I began to realise why I asked the barmaid if any goals had been scored in any of the nights games to have her grunt I'm not paying attention to it fine I thought we then sat and drank our pints I I could not wait to get out the place the atmosphere was absolutely awful when you're paying nearly £11 for two pints you expect to be treated with courtesy not as if you were something somebody had stood in never again

Called in yesterday for Fridays fish and chips. Lovely fresh fish and real chips. Fabulous pub and made welcome. Thanks.

Chloe was a wonderful server. She was talkative and lovely and give me exactly what I needed alcohol. Best server in there she’s LOVELY and I enjoyed it. All go there just for Chloe. She deserves more pay xxx

My wife & I decided to go over to the johnny pye pub in heswall,smashing pub,nice lunchtime atmosphere with locals enjoying a pint & country music in the background,lovely welcome off vicky the landlady & husband gary,very friendly & efficient,food was excellent & freshly cooked,I had scampi & chips mrs had hunters chicken delicious,good portions & fairly priced & we didnt have to wait long,defo highly recomend this pub & though its a way to get there by bus nearly an hour & a quarter wel defo be back,loved our visit,if your in the area give it a try you wont be dissapointed

Great place to watch the football. Good selection of beer and good food. Live music most weekends

Class boozer, with brilliant staff and the price of a pint is one of the cheapest in the area, can't find anything better around Heswall 100% recommend

Been here a few times now to meet a friend, a nice atmosphere, and plenty of friendly faces, although I didn't have any food I noticed that quite a few people were ordering so it can't be bad!! The management and staff seem to be good friendly, sociable people!!

Went for an 80 th Birthday party. Buffet provided was excellent

A friend recommended We try the "Johnny Pye" . Glad we did, getting a very welcome greeting when we went in. Being Lunchtime our Drinks were the Coffee which was excellent. We had come to try the Food though. The Menu spoilt us for choice, being served quickly and was credit to the Staff. Our fellow Customers knew the Staff , and lots of friendly banter was tacking place. We must call again in the Evening, all down to the Staff, Thank You!.

Great pub, always feel safe in here even when on my own. Regulars really look after you. Vicky and her team are fab, you can always have a laugh with them.

Attended a wake here on one of the hottest days of the year. Roasting inside but plenty of outside seating is available. Nice clean bright interior. The bar staff were kept very busy.

Attended a wake being held here and from start to finish it was excellent . Vickie gary and all the staff were amazing. Nothing was too much trouble . Really friendly local pub . We enjoyed it that much we returned the next day and had food which was exceptional . Highly recommend A*****

We held my partners Dad’s wake here on Saturday. All of the staff were absolutely fantastic! They went out of their way to accommodate absolutely everything we asked for. They couldn’t have been more professional, friendly and welcoming. The food was absolutely spot on and there was plenty to go around. Thanks so much to Vickie, Gary and staff for giving Karl the best send off! We will definitely be back to visit xx

Enjoyed a good beer ( Wainwright's) until I departed from the bar Was subjected to verbal abuse from 12 males, who seriously need to get a life. I don't need this hassle and will inform the police. This really put a downer on my evening.

Had to leave to pick up my son earlier than usual, my wife stayed, had to leave my sandwich and fries, but on returning the chef had kept my sandwich and made more fries, what service

Only had a drink here and sat outside as it was a nice day. We were waiting for a bus. Thought the prices were a bit expensive

The landlady is a very lovely lady, she's very attentive to her customers and makes your visit really welcoming..her staff are very hard working and also very attentive..great to have such a nice local pub..

Great place for a meal, a quick pint or a skinfull😂 Lovely staff who cant do enough for you. Everyone very friendly and a really nice atmosphere. We had the house burgers, amazing. We had our 2 year old with us and staff were brilliant with him. Definitely be coming back👍💙

Handy for refreshments 🍺🍷☕& replenishment 🥪🍔🥗 as The Johnny Pie is situated right in the center of the town behind/next to the Bus Station. There's also outdoor seating for when the weather is good & to keep an eye out for when your bus is about to leave 🚌...😅

Staying at Son s for a while called in as my husband had been to watch the football last week and said it was a very friendly pub so he had a pint of Guinness for st Patrick's day and I had Irish coffee both lovely staff and customer s very friendly will Defiantly be back

The pye pub has been a wonderful place very help customers. I had some wonderful boxing night.also football as well. Kind people. And the manager first class. They give the place the good name.

Called in here with 2 of my lads (& a friend) for Sunday lunch. Beef & turkey, veg, pots & yorkies. 4 big piles of food arrived, duly scoffed. 8½ out of 10. Would be more if Yorkshire puds not overdone. Lovely staff, young girl that greeted me after I phoned very polite & profesh. We'll be back. May go again "soon" when I get 🏍 out for spring. 😊

You will always get a warm welcome here. Between the staff and locals, you'll never be short of a laugh and good company. The food is spot on and it's lovely and clean. They do a lot of work to support local charities too. Highly recommended!

Decides to pop by on my way past and was it was a rather great experience, food wise everything was really nice and brought out by the chef herself which was unusually but very touching at the same time, really enjoy my visit. Would recommend the food and friendly staff.

Visited this afternoon 19th fathers day with five others for a roast dinner. We had pre booked a table as two people were over from Australia. I have to say, superb dinner. But 10 out of 10 for the one male and one female barstaff this afternoon,as they were one member short. They worked relentlessly and really both deserve a large pat on the back as the pub was extremely busy. Delighted with our visit

I've not been here since I was a younger with my mum. 6 of us came for lunch yesterday and it was lovely. Roast was delicious, only thing missing was maybe some cauliflower cheese. Staff lovely and helpful, I had a really good day. I've not been out in a couple of years so I was very anxious, but I was very pleased coming to your place. Thanks x

Brilliant experience. A bit of confusion over booking but staff could not of been more helpful. Had the Christmas dinner, starter and main, quality of food spot on. I would recommend this pub and food.

Pleasant small town pub. Under new management with a new chef so I haven't eaten there yet but staff & regulars are a pleasant crowd of people & I will be revisiting shortly to try the food.
