Great American style diner with a substantial menu, but I got food poisoning from a chicken dish and salad. It was the only thing I ate that day as it was an early lunch, brunch. Upset stomach and toilet issues for two days. No reply to my email complaint.

When ordering , the women on the till spoke so fast i struggled to remember what our tables order was . Then when i went back to add to the order it was as if it was an inconvenience to spend more money at there shop . There was also another young lady behind the till who had a very bad attitude when asking for a different dish .

Used to go here regularly for 10 years . Moved out of the area but went for old times sake . Good food and prices seem to have stayed the same since Covid it was always a bit pricey before, Both enjoyed our chili and chips and lasagna. Lots of choices and lots of healthy options with salads and halloumi and grilled items. Friendly staff and good smoothies

On Friday, 23rd August, the day after my daughter's GCSE results, we went to a restaurant for her celebratory meal. We ordered milkshakes and food, but ended up waiting for a long time. One of the waitresses finally informed us that the chefs or cooks had left for the day. We were given a refund for our food. This was extremely frustrating and disappointing.

Found this restaurant by chance when visiting King's College Hospital. I tried the Johnny classic burger and it was delicious. I have been back since and tried their range of breakfast and milkshakes. The staff are extremely welcoming and friendly. I make an effort to make a visit whenever I am in the area.

Went here with good friend. Really enjoyed the meal. Quality and quantity on point. Great options for vegetarians available. Substituted my egg for avocado which wasn’t an issue. Coffee is great. Staff friendly and very fast service. Will definitely return.

Someone recommended we go to Jonnie's for breakfast and we weren't disappointed. Great service, friendly staff, great portions and brilliant value.

My regular spot for a breakfast roll before heading to work at the local NHS hospital. Food always made fresh and fab quality and taste. As an added bonus they kindly donated a large bag of treats, cake bars etc for my nursing colleagues at work. Great place to eat

What a great place! Wonderful fresh food cooked to order. Very reasonably priced with fabulous portions. Great choice. Loved the smoothies and quality coffee!

Popped in here as I had some time on my hands. I’m not local and was not disappointed. Super clean. Really fast service with a smile. And good hot food. Decent cafe.

Absolutely recommend this place. The food is excellent and not expensive. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because the waitress wasn't wearing a mask. On the plus side, the whole side of the restaurant is open (the walls/windows) fold back to open up the whole place with fresh air. The menu is excellent and varied. Ask for Halal no issue. Lots of vegetarian. You order at the till and pay and then take a seat. Saw the waitress changing the knives/forsk in the pots on the table every 15 minutes (covid measure). The food is excellent can recommend the omlettes and all the breakfasts are so great. Wide range of food including mediterranean and english. The place is almost always busy because of how good it is. They do Halloumi, steaks, vege breakfasts and lunches and other meals. Saw a pile of pancakes with blueberries on the top. Looked delicious. Seriously, so glad my husband introduced me to this place which has been there for decades. Its on Coldharbour Lane SE5. Busses 35, 45, 345. Stations are Loughborough Junction (10 mins walk) or Denmark Hill which is a good walk through Ruskin Park. Try this place - you won't be disappointed.

It's a shame because I was enjoying my breakfast until I turned around and saw the finger licking pregnant waitress which completely put me off, totally disappointed with the lack of hygiene and covid measures, Staff not wearing mask clearly no regard for patrons. Social distancing markers on the floor but totally ignored by all.

There are many competitiors in the area, but truly Johnnies is the best so far in terms of customer service what is excellent, always warm, welcoming and friendly, their affordable prices, huge range of food and drinks, the quality of each dishes and their fast and always flexible services.It's not your "average Joe" place that you anyone can afford!

Food is good and I kind of like the concept . However , none of the staff is wearing properly the mask, and when I’ve asked the waitress Why she was not wearing the mask she laughed at me...

They serve excellent breakfast and other foods. They do a mean milkshake, delicious and very filling. Tried most flavours, all on point. Visited soo many times and will continue as long as the standard is keot the same. Friendly staff and good customer service.

Claramente, un lugar muy popular, la cola para ingresar a Johnnies era de aproximadamente 10 personas. La comida y el tamaño de las porciones son muy buenos y los precios son increíblemente asequibles, pero aquí es donde termina la buena experiencia. Me sorprendió saber que nos pidieron a un amigo y a mí que hiciéramos cola para hacer un pedido en el mostrador junto con otros en la cola, ninguno de los cuales llevaba máscaras. La miembro del personal que tomó nuestro pedido habló con un tono claramente infeliz. En el mostrador había un tablero con nombres y números de contacto garabateados a plena vista. Claramente, una infracción preocupante del RGPD. No se nos pidió que completáramos un seguimiento y rastreo y la mujer que recibió las órdenes no usó máscara ni guantes. De hecho, ella misma manejó los cubiertos y los presentó, lo cual fue una preocupación. Además, el personal que limpia las mesas usadas lo hace con muy poco vigor y vuelve a tocar los cubiertos en las mesas para que luzca ordenada. No hubo distanciamiento social en el lugar ya que las mesas estaban a un metro de distancia entre sí y la gente caminaba por el restaurante sin máscaras. Lo siento, pero corona es real, la gente se está muriendo, se adhiere a las reglas o no se abre.

Excellant American breakfast & great coffee, I have been here twice now & will go again when ever I'm in the area.

Posiblemente uno de los mejores desayunos ingleses completos que he comido. Personal amigable. Ambiente agradable, etc.El gran problema aquí en este momento es con las medidas que se están tomando para prevenir la propagación del coronavirus.Aunque hay marcadores de distancia en el suelo, los clientes los ignoran.No existe un sistema unidireccional para que los clientes se aprieten unos a otros.Hay poco espacio entre las mesas y nos dijeron que podíamos sentarnos donde quisiéramos.Lo más preocupante es que los cubiertos se dejan sobre las mesas como se muestra en la imagen, lo que proporciona un vector perfecto para que el virus se propague de un cliente a otro.Muy decepcionante ya que estas son cosas que la gerencia podría resolver fácilmente.

Habiendo visitado aquí muchas veces y sentado en casa encerrado, pensé en dar otra mención a la deliciosa comida y el servicio que siempre recibo al comer en este establecimiento. Mi última visita antes de Covid - 19 me vio disfrutar de una tortilla de salmón y espinacas servida con ensalada de col casera con una taza de té fuerte de desayuno inglés. No hace falta decir que disfruté muchísimo y me pareció muy sabroso. Siempre he encontrado personal atento, servicial, educado y rápido. Espero volver de nuevo cuando pueda y le recomendaría que haga lo mismo.

Rude waitresses, hair in the food which was definitely not mine, food was not cooked properly, meat still pink in the middle. Toilets dirty and not cleaned properly, tables cleaned with the same dirty cloth. Told rudely by staff that you need to purchase food or drink before you sit down as you are costing them customers as customers come in and see the place full and leave - would like to know why others that were just sat there with no food or drink were not told that. I will avoid this place in the future, its over priced, dirty and with rude staff.

Went hear today and overheard the blonde waitress being rude to a disabled customer who I observed buying breakfast, drinks and lunch and was sharing a table with I think it was a work colleague. Once the colleague had left she aggressively asked the disabled person to move to another table because she was sitting on her own and they were losing business because she was using the booth all day. From what I could see the person was working and explained that they couldn’t sit on the suggested seats because of an injury to their hip and leg and were walking with a crutch. The disabled person left then because of the way they were approached and spoken to in front of other customers I for one think it was a disgusting and unprofessional way to speak to a customer and that everyone could hear what the blonde woman was saying If that is how they treat disabled people I will not be giving them my business or money again

Great place for a coffee, meal or snack. Good value and very popular. Can get crowded at lunch times. Nice decor, American diner type tables and friendly staff, what’s not to love.

He visitado aquí en algunas ocasiones para desayunar y siempre encontré que el personal era amable y cortés. El menú es extremadamente variado y tiene un precio muy razonable. La comida siempre llega a tiempo y se sirve caliente y sabrosa. Los tamaños de las porciones son excelentes. No sorprende que muchos trabajadores de sitios cercanos, el personal del NHS y los servicios de emergencia visiten, ya que este gran lugar cumple todos los requisitos. Si aún no lo has hecho, prueba este lugar y no te decepcionará.

Estuvimos en KCH toda la mañana y esperando volver por la tarde. Encontré esta pequeña joya para el almuerzo. Tenemos muchas alergias y la señora que tomó nuestro pedido fue muy servicial y amable. Todos tuvimos Shish Kebab, con arroz y ensalada. El kebab era tan tierno, jugoso y sabroso. El mejor de todos! Fue tan delicioso que nuestro hijo quería volver a cenar (largo día) antes del largo viaje a casa. Lamentablemente estábamos corriendo para tomar el tren. ¡Nuestra próxima cita nos traerá de vuelta allí!

Mis amigos me llevaron allí para un fish & chips decente y me sentí muy satisfecho cuando un plato con el bacalao gigantesco y una gran porción de chips cayó sobre mi mesa. Todo estuvo muy bien. También tuve un batido de verduras y frutas (la palabra "bestia" estaba en su nombre) que fue absolutamente maravilloso. Cuando nos íbamos como los últimos clientes, conversé con el propietario, una dama muy bella, amable y sonriente que se parece a un ángel personificado. Definitivamente regresaré a Johnnies la próxima vez que esté en Londres.

Habiendo visitado aquí en algunas ocasiones en el pasado, ahora visito una vez a la semana antes de recibir tratamiento hospitalario y un buen desayuno me prepara muy bien para el día siguiente. El menú es amplio, variado ya un precio muy razonable. El personal y el servicio son rápidos y educados con la comida que se sirve rápidamente, sabrosa y caliente. Sin duda vale la pena una visita si estás de paso.

Came across this nice funky cafe when I was waiting for my partner to have surgery at kings having knee replacement so went for walk round area and needed to eat what a nice find good atmosphere friendly service and really nice omelette, one the best ive had and loved the fresh juice too . Got the the deco is cool and choices on menu looks fantastic, thank you for a great breakfast,

Amazing place with excellent coffe and lunch/breakfast. I come here 4 or 5 Times for week. The only sad thing is that they are not opened for dinner. Try the lamb kofta they are really amazing.

Go here weekly as close to the office and the place is always immaculately clean, great friendly service , tasty hot food freshly cooked , good portion size, decently priced so excellent value for money. Only request is please stock the Sunmagic fruit juices as they delicious with lunch. Varied range from sandwiches, burgers, Panini through to burgers, pies, cooked breakfast even Sunday roasts.

We have been visiting this café for several years at least once a week and the quality and service is always excellent. They must be the best Café in London.

Just a few minutes walk from Kings this is a great fast food restaurant. They serve breakfast all day and have delicious sandwiches, burgers, salads and paninis. There are even several vegetarian and vegan options. The atmosphere is a bit like a diner in the US. The service was fast and friendly even thought it was packed. They take credit cards. If you are at Kings and need to grab a quick bite to eat, this is a great option.

I've been coming here for a while now, its got a great range but doesn't drop the ball on on quality. They cater for everyone - Non Pork eaters, vegans gluten free etc

I have to say Johnnies is the best cafe I have found in London. I work for the Ambulance Service, so as you can imagine we struggle to find somewhere to stop and have a hot meal on the go. Johnnies is about a 2 minute walk from King’s College Hospital so it’s location is absolutely perfect! The coffee / Tea’s are always hot, the food is always hot and fresh, lovely butcher sausage, and the prices are pretty reasonable for a London Cafe. I would highly recommend the number 5 breakfast! Always cooked to perfection and fantastic quality.

I was given an expired drink and there was hair in my food. The drink was expired from 3 months ago and when I informed the lady who served me said it wasn’t. They forgot to add mushrooms to my food but still charged me for it. Unacceptable service so I will not be returning.

Cafe with everything on the menu. Inexpensive cost and good quality food. Service is always fast and cheerful. Decor is American style. This place caters for all types of people and reccomend if nearby and in need of a cuppa and some food. :)

Absolutamente me encanta venir aquí con mis amigos. El personal es increíblemente amable. La comida es increíble. Lo malo es que la cola suele ser bastante larga, pero eso es porque es la favorita de todos. ¡Hay tanta variedad que encontrarás algo para comer, incluso si eres quisquilloso como yo!

The best breakfast in south London. The Café buzzes. Full of locals and weary travellers eagerly anticipating their ‘best meal of the day’, in all its combinations. I was introduced to Beetroot Ketchup; an excellent accompaniment with all of the traditional dishes.

i only live 5 minutes away but this my first time in this cafe. Excellent place to eat, food good, nice choice on menu, staff very friendly and helpful. not badly priced either, i will be going back for more excellent grub. Thank you guys...

Hemos comido aquí para el desayuno y el almuerzo y la variedad y calidad de la comida es excelente. Un buen servicio al cliente con rapidez para cocinar siempre fresca y caliente. Su pollo hamburguesas son enormes en su propio incluso sin patatas fritas. Sus tortillas son realmente excelente servido con una buena ensalada o patatas fritas si lo que quieres es una delicia.

I used to like going to johnnies for nice breakfast and portion sizes but over the years has become less focused on its food quality and portion sizes not as good as it was . Still is a good cheap eat

Tough review, going solely on my Super Bowl it’s a defo 4, other meals in our group were a 3 due to being no better than they could make themselves. But a characterful clean establishment quick polite service brings it all up to a 4.

Like the good old days when we stayed in States, Johnnie’s provides the diner experience. I love having breakfast in this resto wherein lotsa community people gather and say hello! Staff are not too enthusiastic but their food is oh ok.

The service is fast, the line to order sometimes is long, but usually won’t take more than 5 minutes and the food is always delicious :)

Este lugar es "escondido" en la esquina de donde obtengo los coches de servicio y sirve un tocino bocata rápido, digno de un 5 estrella. Y un café estupendo. Todo se produce "estilo diner" así que no confundir este con una configuración estrella Michelín. Pero me encanta. Además el personal es super amable.

Our second visit and very satisfied. Good value for money. The spicy garlic chicken was not too spicy and lots of rice. I had Cumberland sausages and mash and lots of peas and gravy - very good indeed. Staff very helpful.

He estado viniendo aquí unos cuantos años cuando yo trabajo cerca. Normalmente para un desayuno temprano, pero también he hecho una cena aquí. La comida es excelente, los desayunos son muy bonitas, las tortillas son de primera categoría, pero mi favorito es los huevos Benedict....

Been visiting this cafe for years! A nice little stop off to refuel & reasonable prices too. Very clean with attentive staff. Close to Kings College hospital so I always pop in when attending an appointment there. I had a veggie breakfast not keen on the sausages though!

Found this place whilst working in London. Was working and it was 6am and asked someone where to go for breakfast and without hesitation they said Jonnies. I ordered eggs Benedict with smoked salmon and it was the best I've had!!! Defo be coming back

This is no run of the mill greasy spoon affair. This cafe has a retro American feel and testament to the food is they it is always busy.The staff are friendly and professional The portion sizes are plentiful and there is a wide and varied menu to choose from. The cost is good.

I've had breakfast at Johnnies on a couple of occasions. If you're after a simple fry up at a reasonable price then you can't go wrong here. The interior is done in an American Diner style which actually gives the place a cosy and welcoming vibe. As long as you're not expecting gourmet food, you'll find this place to be decent value for money and a good option for that hungover feed that you can't be bothered cooking yourself.

What a great cafe and our first visit. Definately not our last.The breakfast was gorgeous and the coffee was really really good. Will recommend this.Only one slight negative.,.the tea was not as good. Thats it !

Work round the corner so go here a couple of times a month for lunch , great varied menu , lots of veggie options falafel and hulimi wrap with broad beans it's delicious , great homemade lasagna , chicken fillet burgers and fresh salads far more than a cafe , Quick turnover very friendly staff and intense cleaning going on all the time , Huge new bio folding Windows just installed so lots of fresh air on a sunny day !Cakes and puddings and a soft ice cream just arrived ,and they now serve peroni beer on tap ,Great place for a very large lunch and drink for about £6

if there is one thing I hate,it is unnecessary pomposity,or fuss. These people are neither of these…I felt comfortable,and taken care of. Real comfort eating!

Always really good food and fast service. S wide range of choice on the menu from traditional breakfasts through main courses, omelettes and sandwiches. They always have a few specials as well which are worth checking out. My only issue is that the seating is a bit tight for space and not designed to sit in for a long time.

Proper greasy spoon cafe in a positive way, great service, staff always pleasant and no long wait just as well as go there for lunch from work.

Had the vegetarian cooked breakfast and it was really good. Hash browns were perfect and the portion was certainly sufficient. A nice, relaxed atmosphere. Excellent value for money. Nice proper mugs for the hot drinks. Will be going back regularly to try the rest of the menu.

We come here a lot and the food is consistently good. I always order the English breakfast which is always filling! The cafe offers halal food there too and Turkish food as well as cakes. It's been recently renovated and looks just as great as it tastes. The prices are good and a great selection of cakes and drinks as well as foods. If your in the area definitely take a trip there trust me you won't regret it !

I go here a lot.not just English breakfasts but a choice of tukish food.gets very busy all day.also gets lots of police all day so I don't know is protecting London. Nice cafe nice inside and great service.

Brilliant service from staff. Clean and welcoming. If you are are looking for a greasy spoon, this is not the place you are looking for. Comfortable seats. Quick service. A wide range of foods which are reasonably priced. You can order anything from fancy salads to a normal burger and chips. From a fry up to gigantic slices of cake. A place where you won't be left feeling hungry.

Went for first tome for breakfast!! Wasn't disappointed!! Clean fresh yummy!! The place was bright and airy!! Teas were hot the food was lush!! Everything was fresh!!

I'm loathed to recommend this place in fear it becomes too crowded. I come here when the girlfriend allows. Living not far away, it's the ideal venue for relaxing weekend breakfasts with the papers laid out in front of you. High quality ingredients served at a very reasonable price in an old fashioned dinner set up. It makes a welcome change to the increasingly poncy Brixton eating scene.

If you're the type that's not really too sure about entering into a Café because of its grotty look, old flooring and dim interior then look no further, your modern Café dreams have come true!!! Johnnies has a diner style setting and my gosh!!! the food is well lush. My husband and I usually go there to grab a quick sandwich or get some brekky. they also do really nice meals, burgers, and salads (the halloumi and chorizo salad is well nice!). Guarantee you'll find people from all walks of life there, so you'll never feel uncomfortable (especially on a weekend when families go out or a quick bite). Prices are also good, so whatever your budget you'll be able to get something to eat. Go for it, what're you waiting for?!

Fantastic breakfast in an american style diner which never fails to hit the spot. The sausages especially were fantastic. Always a big portion for around £5 which leaves you not needing anything else all day! Service is always friendly and efficient.I've been in the past when I grabbed a Sunday lunch when in a hurry and the veg seemed overboiled. For the price there is better elsewhere for lunch. However, for a great breakfast this really is THE place to go in Camberwell! I'll be there next weekend.
