Attitude and rudeness must be part of the job description here. Blonde British lady in her 40s doesn’t say hi or smile notwithstanding a radiant smile on my part. I ask to order, only to get cut off by a mannerless ‘what you want??’. I ask for a latte with oat milk — I’m intolerant. She makes it with what is clearly regular milk, then tries to argue with me that I never said what kind of milk, cutting me off twice in the ensuing convo. She also refused to make an oat milk latte without making me pay for the whole thing again. How is this acceptable? Change/train your staff. I wouldn’t come back even if your coffee was any good.

Rude people at the coffee shop, what can I say! This echoes reviews below which have similar comments. I’ve been here thrice and thought it’s because of one particular server, but actually it’s all of them. It feels like we should be grateful that they’re there giving us coffee.

A lovely place with very kind staff. I stayed at a nearby hotel with my husband, and when we told the staff here we were victims of a burglary, they offered us coffee and carrot cake free of charge. Beautiful deli with really great selection of produce, preserves and wine. Cafe attached has a nice indoor space and serves good coffee, matcha and treats. Provide alternative milks (oat & pea protein) and have some gluten free snack options. There is also a secret underground butcher which was a great surprise.

Co-worker recommended the sausage rolls. They had 2, and one was spinach. My bad. The one with actual sausage was a little posh, but a welcome bite. What did rub me rhw wrong way was either a manager or owner harping on the 2 women up front about some missing item he couldn't find. They both said they hadn't touched in nor sold it, and he wouldn't let it go. He left the front of the shop sputtering unintellligibles.

This establishment is a real gem and certainly worth visiting. I am retired now and visit different London attractions every week with a friend. Today, whilst looking for some place to have lunch, we discovered Greensmiths and it proved to be an excellent choice. First of all, the staff were really friendly and welcoming. We were served by a lady called Maddy, who could not have been more pleasant and helpful if she had tried. From what I could see, all members of staff seem to have the same considerate attitude towards their customers. Everyone was really lovely. I had one of their chicken and focaccia sandwiches, wich was more than substantial. In fact, it consisted of two very large and well filled rolls. The bread was extremely fresh and the sandwich, delicious. You can see from the picture all that was left, the wrapping! The sandwich was so tasty that I had it eaten before it occurred to me to take a picture - but I did photograph the sandwiches on the way out so you can see the original product! There is a substantial seating area upstairs where we enjoyed our lunch. They had provided bottles of water and glasses for people to help themselves. In addition to an excellent cafe, it is a very good grocery store which butcher section etc. It was my first visit today, but certainly will not be my last. I can recommend this venue without hesitation. Thanks Maddy and staff!!

Okay, but certainly not great. Lovely shop on the inside and very friendly staff - the thing that let them down is the quality and prices. I went for the spinach and feta roll which by its self is £3.50 (i feel like £2.50 would be more acceptable, as the it was nice but nothing special, just a lot of spinach and barely any feta so no flavour really) . I figured this might be included in some sort of lunch deal with salad but apparently not - its £5 extra for salad! The greek salad also didn't look very exciting at all for that money? Just a lot of cucumber and tomatoes, no feta and barely any olives to be seen - not worth the money. In most places you can get a drink, main and snack for a £5 lunch deal, or even £3.50 in some places, so overall pretty disappointing,. Advice to management - reevaluate your prices and consider the quality you are offering, Offer more appealing prices and deals and your customers will come running - trust me!

Been a regular at Greensmiths for years and the quality of the produce is always very high - fresh veg, fresh bread, cheeses, store cupboard stock. Love the fruit selection too. Increasingly, am noticing that they're better value too, which given they've always been at the upper end of pricing, is saying something. For example, Gail's will sell you a box of eggs for £4 (!) and the same ones are sold for £2.60 in GS; Saturday morning pastries don't cost a tenner, as they do at Gail's. Prices at the new veg place up the road by the Co-op are extortionate, and a cupcake from Balance will set you back £4.50 each. Feels like GS is the last proper shop who realise what it will take to keep a loyal customer base during high inflation: quality with good value.

I popped into green smiths deli at 12:10 with my son today for a coffee whilst my daughter attended a ballet lesson nearby. I ordered a coffee for myself and a Diet Coke for my son, after 10 minutes I was approached by a member of staff who told me I had to leave the premises when the White family on a nearby table were served their brunch. I checked with my son that this is what was said by the waitress as no other table was approached in the same manner. I am Japanese and have lived locally for 15 years. Naturally I was shocked to be singled out and asked to leave as I had paid extra to drink my coffee inside and the Greensmiths deli was only half full at this time. WAS IT BECAUSE I WAS THE ONLY ASIAN IN THE GREENSMITHS AT THE TIME? I can only think so because none of the white guests were approached and asked to leave. Embraced by this situation that was happening in front of my son, I walked downstairs and asked to speak to the manager. The manager was the same service staff member who had asked only my son and I to leave!! I asked the manager for an explanation and they accepted they were wrong and I had been Racially profiled, I was offered a free coffee. I was still in a state of shock that this had happened and refused and left with my son. GREENSMITHS REALLY? This behaviour was totally unacceptable and racist. You embarrassed my son (who has grown up in the area) and I pray he is not traumatised from this incident.

Whilst the produce is of exquisite quality and the butcher and junior members of the team are incredibly friendly and helpful they are hugely let down by two of the older members of staff. Living locally, and as an avid supporter of local businesses I almost resent bringing my custom to Greensmiths. They are unnecessarily rude and this tends to be in the form of snide or sarcastic comments. To expose a few minor incidents: Upon recently entering the store 10 minutes until the scheduled closing time the older grumpy man remarked “You’re cutting it fine” under his breath which made me feel uncomfortable and my custom unwanted. I was also horrified after recently visiting the store with a friend who ordered a baked tart, to which the older woman angrily retorted “Well I cant see what you mean, just choose off the menu!”. This is absolutely not the way to treat valued customers who often spend money here. This is perhaps the first time I have gone out of my way to leave a review online however, I do not have time for mean or rude people, especially coming out of a hard year for everyone, where a degree of humility should be shown.

Very nice gourmet foodstore. The variety is remarkable and the quality of the food too. However, I have a couple of suggestions: 1 - it would be great to know the origin of food. For example: Gorgonzola Dolce, or Comte cheese, which suppliers do you buy from? If so, communicate it to the customer somehow. The label does not show any information, but I think this would be great value customers. 2 - opening hours. 8-30am, 4.30pm are not aligned to the working hours of the foodstores in the area. And they don't make much sense for a foodstore in general. Normally I shop before 8am or after 6pm. I would just shop much more if the opening hours weren't so rigid.

Greensmiths is a great concept; like small department store for food. Under the Greensmiths umbrella there is a deli, baker, wine merchant, greengrocers, cheese specialists and cafe. (takeaway during lockdown) The butcher recently left, but supplies meat daily to the cold cabinet. The staff work really hard and are very helpful. An on-site and visible kitchen produces excellent quiches, scotch eggs, sausage rolls, salads and deli and antipasti throughout the day. They have adapted quickly and safely to the Lockdown, remaining open on reduced hours to serve the community and ensuring their suppliers can continue. A great local asset.

I'm a big fan of Greensmiths and have been coming as an occasional customer for years. For a premium grocer, it's actually very good value - I am finding myself cycling there more and more often. I go particularly for the cheese, beer and wine (for my very balanced diet). The beer section is excellent and as cheap as you'll find The Kernel anywhere. A very good mix of craft and European beers. Oh, and the tarts. The almond tart is spectacular and, again, really well priced. I don't miss the Ginger Pig being there - there is now a small, decent meat selection, and more space for veg.

My girlfriend and I went on a Sunday afternoon. This was the best Sunday roast I’ve ever had, hands down. The portion was satisfying, staff attentive and friendly, and prices more than reasonable! Gre
