The White Bear in Lambeth

It’s a pricey place anyway but tonight took the p. £44 for 4 drinks - 2 small wines, a Guinness and a non alcoholic beer. Went back and challenge it. He admitted he’d charged me for totally the wrong thing. He refunded me - not yet received the refund. And then charged me again for what he’d failed to charge me properly for. So I’m currently still massively out of pocket. Nothing to make up for it. Avoid this place.

A nice pub to go for a few drinks. We went here on a tuesday afternoon with about 15 people after a seminar. I liked the atmosphere and the assortment of beers even more.

Food always great, fresh, hot and generous portions. The scotch eggs are legendary. Service is fast, friendly and efficient.

Great and friendly gastropub near Kennington station. The food was delicious, I personally had the duck, which literally melted in your mouth. Impeccable service from Mathes, the manager, who was very helpful in choosing and describing the dishes and made us feel at home. We will definitely be back and highly recommended. Very glad to find somewhere open locally right after Christmas. A big menu with some interesting food, and not just the usual pub burger and chips routine. Kindly and helpful service.

I went with a group of 9 friends we all had a variety of menu choices pate, calamari paella vegan burger fish and chips burger . Everyone had a fantastic meal , our waitress was fantastic so helpful especially working out the bill well done the white bear I will certainly be back

What a fantastic venue for our office Christmas lunch - it looked so pretty with all the fairy lights. We were incredibly well looked after - the staff were amazing and so helpful, and all the communication beforehand was very smooth. The food was delicious - had so many good comments from colleagues about it. I was impressed that the Christmas crackers were charity ones without plastic too. Thank you to the White Bear - we highly recommend you.

Lovely team Christmas lunch enjoyed. 16 of us. Very good experience, food, service, atmosphere. In a long career with many Xmas lunches enjoyed, and some endured, the White Bear experience was one of the best. Food wise it was the best - and we were very well looked after. The personal service made a big difference. Also no rush to go - very relaxed and friendly adding to the great atmosphere. We'll be back!

Our dining experience at the White Bear - Kennington was great. Service was on point, the menu was not too vast but reasonable with plenty of choices. Great value and excellent quality of food.

We booked for the rstaurant as going to the theatre upstairs. I have been to The White Bear before, a long time ago and what a transformation this time round. Warm and welcoming, nicely decorated but maintaining the period character. Delicious food at real value for money prices. Our server was lovely and super friendly and helpful from the get-go! Great blend of advising and giving us space. The home made pie was absolutely delicious as was the fish and chips. The restaurant was quiet as it was early in the week but I can imagine it has a great vibe at the weekend. The bar was quite busy and again had a lovely atmosphere.
