We stay at the premier in next door on a regular. Breakfast and mains like pizza or sides are good. The Sunday roast however is an absolute shame.. some chicken or turkey pieces from Iceland, followed by microwaved roast potatoes. Really disappointing as the place has some great staff and clearly knows how to make good food. Main menu is good, breakfast is great, but stay away from the Sunday roast to save yourself from a disappointment.

We had a lovely lunch staff were welcoming and helpful plenty of seating to choose from a nice well kept clean and tidy pub. Special mention on how helpful the member of staff was today when i rang with a query it was very much appreciated thankyou.

Unfortunately, we had a disappointing experience here over the weekend. Despite paying in advance for breakfast, they were unable to accommodate us in the restaurant area so we had to sit in the bar. This area was a busy thoroughfare playing loud music and with distracting gambling machines flashing. It also smelled of vinegary cleaning products and stale alcohol. We were promptly forgotten about and had to chase someone to order our hot food. When it came, the breakfast was dry and overcooked. We'd already stayed the night in the Premier Inn next door where the corridor smelled of newly cleaned up vomit and bleach. Marvellous. Will be giving this place a wide berth in the future.

A warm welcome… Served by Sophie who gave an exceptional service…. Nothing too much trouble. A much improved experience under the new manager.

The food here was fantastic and reasonably priced. Holly was incredibly kind and helped us choose the best vegan options. My favourite dish was the vegan sausage, which was absolutely incredible—kudos to Chef Mike! Overall, it’s a great spot for brunch, and I highly recommend it!

6 adults and one young child had unlimited breakfast at the John Milne on 26th Jan The food was absolutely brilliant quality and was served very fresh and nice and hot! The service we received from the staff was impeccable especially “Sophie” who took our order, she was super friendly and polite We were so impressed with the visit we all decided we are going to try and do it again on a fairly regular basis The continental part of the breakfast was equally stunning, little things like ice in the jug of water makes all the difference Thanks again Chris

Not a bad place inside and friendly staff. Food wasn't the best though. Our party left with a few stomach aches. Steady but there's better for the price.

Lovely meal had by 4 of us, we had the £5 value meals and they are fab! Rebecca was our server and she couldn't do more for us! Thanks again we will be back.

The place is looking a bit old, and there seemed to be less staff around. When the food came out I was surprised as it was great!

This is my favourite go to restaurant. The food is always amazing and the staff are friendly and there is nothing they cant do to make your visit enjoyable. My most recent visit was for a family Christmas meal, their food is amazing as always and the service impeccable. The manager Ben was fantastic in going above and beyond in supporting my brothers visit who needed some accommodations before his visit. All the staff are lovely (Holly, Ben, Gemma, Ben and Chef Oliver) and there is nothing they can do to improve. Would highly recommend to others and looking forward to my next visit. Such a shame google only lets you review once, i would have had many many reviews on here with 5 stars! For anyone reading the bad reviews about poor service from months ago, new management took over very recently and I've known Ben for years from other restaurants he has ran. Always top notch service.

Duper taste affordable food, friendly staff and a Cosy environment highly recommend, they also do blue light card discount and meerkat meals discount for those who like a bargain!

Amazing food but terrible service from staff. No one greeted us when we arrived, we got told there is table service but yet we had to go to the bar to order anything/everything. We ordered a starter which came AFTER the mains. Anytime the server gave us our food/drink they ran before we could ask for condiments or request anything. The food was amazing 10/10 but the attitude of the servers ruined the atmosphere and made it feel like we weren’t welcome in the restaurant. Really disappointing considering how good the food is, you’d expect amazing service for such good food but the waiters really let us down.

Having gone here many many times the last two times have been absolutely terrible. Whilst the food was good the service was awful both times. Will be giving it a miss now which is a shame because it’s so near to walk to but twice is enough. Also the prices have really shot up - maybe the reason it’s never full now is because of the price and the service. The staff is never the same now as it used to be !!!!

Went for a breakfast. There's a good range to choose from when u order a full breakfast you can have any of the cold choices, croissant s, fresh fruit salads, yoghurt, cereal, toast unlimited coffee or tea, fruit juices, you can order your cooked breakfast and it's unlimited. Plenty of choice. Cooked breakfast was well cooked and presented very good value. Toast and coffee you do yourself. £21.80 for 2 adults.

The restaurant provides lovely food and good service. Unfortunately the toilets are a disgrace, and the bar area smells of chlorine.

We were staying at the Premiere Inn next door we arrived and went in for a drink. The smell hits you as you walk in it smells damp the seats and couches are filthy. The table we sat at the floor was covered in food looked like it hadn't been cleaned for weeks. We had breakfast there the following day. It was cold and not nice at all. The staff were OK but the place was vile. Wouldn't go again

A great place for a family celebration. Reasonable prices and a varied menu, as well as the usual drinks and cocktails. Plenty of free parking outside (3 hours) - don't forget to validate your parking on the way in by entering your reg number on the tablet.

We don't go out too often as a family, mainly because on of my daughter's is autistic and usually struggles in restaurants. Each time we've visited I've made the staff aware and they've been fantastic at accomodating us. Even letting us sit away from everyone else at breakfast or adjusting the menu is massive help and this is one of the few places we can visit locally and have a relatively stress free, enjoyable meal. The food is great value and we'll be back. Well done.

The outside was scruffy and unkempt not very inviting for our first visit ! The inside was nicer and the staff along with the food okay ! Not sure if we'll be visiting again . Mighr be a great idea to clean up the outside areas!!

We arrived too early for lunch and were asked to wait 20 minutes and they would call us. We bought a drink and they forgot. The 2 for 1 lunch value meal was good value at £11. Spouse had the gammon, pineapple, etc and really enjoyed it. I have dietary issues so not great for me. The safest option for me was fish and chips but the fish was mushy.

Shocking attitude from female bar staff (Blonde with massive false lashes). Speaking about me to her coworker like I wasn't right in front of her. What a shame because the other lady was wonderful. Also ordered a coppaberg and was given a dupe without disclosure.

We only went in for a couple of drinks as the pub opposite was having a quiz night and was heaving. I must admit, I didn't expect to get turfed out at 10pm. Unceremoniously at that. The staff were clearly cheesed off and wanted to get home as soon as possible.

I visited here on Sunday for breakfast with my two children staff where really friendly the manager Natalie sat us down and made sure we was well looked after,our order came to the table really fast considering it being a Sunday morning and was piping hot and tasty can’t fault the staff the whole experience was one of the best iv had in a long time eating out. I will definitely be going here again

Food was good. Sat in Conservatory area, needs a bit of decorating, tidying up. Staff were friendly. First visit for a while. Won't be rushing back

Food was very nice not long to wait for pleasant atmosphere

Called in for Breakfast on Saturday before a long drive hoping that a full cooked all you can eat breakfast would tick all the boxes to start our day. Unlike most of the Premier Inn breakfasts this was an order ur food rather than a buffet style with ready to eat food, this meant we waited 50minutes from arriving and ordering our food til it arrived to our table at which point it was missing the sausages which on my order was 1/3 of what I asked for. Not great at all. Add to that the staff were very vocal at congratulating each other on how well they had done today within earshot of our table at how empty it was, maybe the reason it was empty was because people didnt order seconds as it was awful. An example of this was a family at a neighbouring table that left moments after their food arrived and were not happy with how poor it was. Think a long hard look at not only food preparation quality but a reversal to the more commonly found buffet style service will yield better food and service. But if you wish to continue to take orders better more consider communication of orders from table to kitchen so people’s food is right first time and cook it properly snd get orders out in a reasonable time.

A late last-minute option due to circumstances. The only option available was the 3 course Mother's Day set menu. Nachos were very disappointing, little cheese which seemed to at the bottom of the dish and a splattering of sour cream with a few chillies. The 4 chicken goujons were a little better. Order 2 mixed grills for the mains. Very poor, plus having to pay an extra £3.99 on top. All the meats appeared small. Certainly had better elsewhere. Desserts were a little better but not the best. Thanks, but I won't be a repeat customer. Certainly, better options are available. But it was a last-minute decision, but it failed to impress.

Popped in on the off chance for a table for 4 very accommodating. Lovely meal, prompt service and relaxed atmosphere. Katie, Hollie and Rebecca were a great with us. Shout out to chefs Doo, Cian and Ben for delish food.. best chips around according to our 11 year old.

Was charged £4.89 for 2 5 inch x 3 inch if that garlic bread with cheese scandalous will not return what an absolute joke.

There is outdoor and indoor seating. Some areas are nicer to sit in than others. I don't prefer sitting on the aisle so I avoid going when it's busy. The staff are quite chilled and let you take your time. There were occasions when I had to wait quite a bit for the food to come, but generally the waiting time is acceptable. The chicken, gammon and steak platter is tasty! So is the 8oz rump steak! I've tried other food before like the burger, scampi, pies, sundae and they're all good!

Amazing staff managed extremely well on one of the busiest breakfasts of the year. They respectfully and efficiently resolved customer issues that were caused by Premier Inn staff. All this and served up a delicious breakfast in double quick time.

From my visit here I discovered that either if you’re a young couple or just a couple then your custom will not be appreciated if you eat here. Big tables seem to be looked after but not us. We walked in all was fine but got sat down and didn’t take our order for atleast 20 minutes (thought nothing of it even though it wasn’t really busy). Then when we ordered our lasagnas we politely asked if we could swap the salad for chips as on the menu a salad is more expensive than chips however the lady serving rudely said “you’ll have to pay extra for that”. Charming! Anyway went on to order and then waited about 30 minutes for our food which was very nice however they forgot our onion rings. When I told the lady about the onion rings she rudely said “alright” and went and got some. Slammed them on the table and no apology for forgetting them. I had already made my mind up about the place but then after we had finished we waited for atleast 30 mins for plates to be cleared as we were wanting desert. (They never came) so we paid and left.

We all really enjoyed the day. Everything was very smooth and everything came very quickly. It didn’t feel overly busy which was nice, we haven’t eaten out on Christmas Day before so was unsure what to expect. The staff were lovely and happy to say it was Christmas Day. The food was also really good and we enjoyed it. You certainly didn’t scrimp on the portions. You had Christmas music on, it was easy to ask for drinks and they came quick. It was a lovely atmosphere all together. Thank you!

We like to go on a Sunday morning for a family breakfast. We used to go to Clayton Green in Chadderton but find John Milne much cleaner and more organised. The staff are always polite, and the cooked breakfast is served without much delay at all. Certainly recommended

Lunch with friends. Good value on the daytime deal, service was good, food was very good for the price. But tired decor and uncomfortable seats in bar area - desperately need re-furbing.

It took two and a half hours for two courses. We had to prompt waiting staff to take orders and clear the table of empty drinks and plates. I can only assume they were short staffed this evening. The food is as expected, not bad, not great just about value for money if you get one of the offers. Overall it's a nice pub and the staff were friendly, we may have just been unlucky.

My wife and I went for Sunday lunch, and everything was lovely. The food was super, and we were served by Katie who was cheerful and friendly. We have visited several times in the past, and as always we leave satisfied after a good experience. We are already booked in for our Christmas meal.

The food is hit and miss. This is by no fault of the restaurant, more to do with what the Head Office tells them to serve on the Menu. Service is good to excellent, one or 2 issues over the time we've been going, however the staff have always done everything possible to make it right. All in all, it is a lovely little place to eat with the family. I recommend dining here whenever you feel like a quiet night and good food.

We enjoyed a lovely meal to celebrate my birthday. The vegetarian lasagne was delicious. Service was excellent.

We had a family birthday celebration in October. There were 28 of us and everything was perfect. The food was served hot and promptly, everyone was eating at the same time. The staff were fantastic, nothing was too much trouble. We all enjoyed the food and the atmosphere. A wonderful family get together that will be fondly remembered for a long time to come. Well done to all of the staff we will definitely be recommending and visiting again soon.

I HIGHLY recommend Table Table, customer service is excellent 👌 the food 10/10, the staff are incredibly friendly and are always willing to help you nothing is to much trouble, they make you feel right at home. I will certainly be going back again.
