no customer care and left disappointed and frustrated. I have been trying to decide between two types of kindles so came in to this store to compare. Was ignored as staff chat and laugh with each other so I wait to ask for some assistance. He tells me they don’t get charged and “it’s not necessary to see the screen on a kindle”. after me trying to explain how very necessary it is (choosing between a kindle and a paperwhite BECAUSE of the screen differences) i’m told i’m wrong and it’s this way because kindle don’t pay them to display - wouldn’t let me say/ask anymore. came all the way in to here from st albans just for that, expecting to leave with my kindle, and instead left feeling frustrated that i wasn’t listened to and extremely disappointed. Wouldn’t go to john lewis for tech, will have to look elsewhere.

Very disappointing experience trying to return an expensive bath robe that was of very poor quality. Frayed and knap rubbing off after being worn once. We washed it out of embarrassment, having worn it. The till person refused the return as they found a damp spot that hadn't fully dried. The item was faulty, not unwanted. It was unusable, not resellable. It was an hour round trip and we only wanted to exchange. The woman made my wife feel embarrassed to be returning what was a rubbish faulty item. The jlp woman tried to pretend thisntype of robe was never returned usually, that we had washed it with something that caused it, when on review, the jlp website shows the item gets 3 stars and people have subsequently complained of exactly the same problem; and the robe on display had the same issue.

Poor service, my coffee machine has been in for repair and has been returned but is still not functioning properly, they have told me to contact the company and deal with it myself I pointed out that the problem is still the same and I bought it from them, I have to take it back to the store that is miles away or phone the manufacturer. They will not get involved they will only put me in touch with the manufacturer to deal directly ☹️😡 very disappointed

Sad to see the demise of John Lewis and the loss of their positive brand image. We visited to buy a bed and bedding for our son and kids clothes. Lots of staff but none of them interested in customer service. We heard a couple of staff complaining about customers and another group gossiping about their colleagues and weekend plans. After a long wait in the departments we were using we gave up and left. We will avoid John Lewis in future based on our very poor and frustrating experience.

Don't use their Johnsons clothes repair service. Quoted £11 for a chinos button repair (if button provided by you), and best part of £40 to repair an old hoodie zip, both of which are extortionate. Accepted the button repair, promised a week turnaround, now 3 weeks later, two visits to John Lewis and several phone calls to Johnsons and they've lost my chinos. Refund and compensation on their way, but appalling service.

Visited this weekend to look at some fragrances. The lovely gentleman, I think his name was Richard , was so helpful and went through all of the different fragrances and told us alternatives we should consider. We decided on a fragrance and said we would return later after we had finished the rest of our shop. When we returned another lady served us and she was the complete opposite. Rude , unwilling to help and wouldn’t even let me use my John Lewis reward card as I should have told her I had one (instead of her asking me for it). Complete opposite of customer service and ruined the experience of purchasing from John Lewis. Will use Harrods beauty from now on.

I went to my local John Lewis &Partners shop in Milton Keynes to exchange a cloth which I purchased in June . This hasn’t been worn due to weight loss. I first approach Mackenzie & Berverly( a manager ) . I only ask for exchange, not money back.They both failed to assist. Finally, I met Sally & her manager who received myself & my wife with a smile.They are so welcoming.Sally is an asset to John Lewis . The support I had from her was superb. My wife and I did not feel welcome by Mackenzie & Beverly.

During my recent visit over the weekend, I had intended to seek clarification on a specific matter and examine the Google equipment available. However, the staff member responsible for the Google equipment appeared to be engaged in an extended conversation with a colleague, neglecting to acknowledge my presence or offer assistance. This left me feeling disregarded and overlooked. Furthermore, when I approached the Apple representative at John Lewis with a question regarding their return policy, he was unable to provide an answer and had to seek assistance from another individual. This struck me as rather inefficient, as I would expect an Apple expert to be well-versed in the return policies for Apple products sold at John Lewis.

Went to look for a new Samsung tablet , well what a disaster,the stands were messy , not much pricing and most of the tablets weren't even on , and the tablet I did want to see Samsung tab 10+ was just turning off and on , couldn't find a member of staff anywhere, so sorry John Lewis will spend my money elsewhere, absolutely rubbish!! , expect so much better !!! Update: a very smug young man called from MK John Lewis and told me all he can do was to apologise. Nevermind me rallying around to pick up this parcel and deliver it back to the JL store in Bristol. All he could do was to apologise. You know what - I would have taken a coffee voucher from JL cafe but no, just an apology... The worst experience! Ordered from MK John Lewis an item which was out of stock online. They swiftly took my £197 over the phone, only told me it will reach me in 7 days. No update on delivery followed, no delivery followed. Waited for a week for item to be delivered, no delivery. Called JL customer services today to track down my item or the shop and see what has happened. Apparently my item was sent 3 days after payment but never arrived. They claim delivery was attempted this Tuesday but I literary sit next to the window working from home daily overseeing our front garden. There has been no attempt. Now I am resolving issues with DHL directly as if not collected tomorrow, will be sent back to the shop. Would have been lovely to receive an update when it was shipped, to know the tracking number or courier beforehand. What has happened to you, John Lewis??? **this review is about the restaurant** Not enough staff/not utilised correctly, but all staff lovely. Floor around/under tables covered in crumbs and bits of food. Dirty tables. Bench seating full of crumbs - I do mean full. Not just a few here and there. Tables left with trays, dirty crockery/cutlery, stains, etc. Vegan choc fudge cake decent. Oat latte good. Dairy latte good.

Rubbish! They sold a very poor quality of a kettle and toaster set for £200, and didn't accept them when I asked to return them! They said that you have used them for food and water!!! Had a personal shopper experience with Emma Franklin for a dress for my son’s wedding. What a lovely time I had - Emma had chosen about 8 dresses ready for when we turned up. I went into John Lewis to buy an Apple Watch but wasn't sure which one I wanted. Garry in the electronics department offered to help straight away and was excellent. His knowledge of all the products was great and my girlfriend and I really enjoyed his company. He didn't try to push a sale, was happy to spend as much time as I wanted, and gave good advice. After which, I was sure I was buying the right Apple Watch. Before I checked out we looked at TVs and speakers. Garry was genuinely passionate about the products they had in store and I'd recommend anyone wanting advice to ask for him personally. Thanks Garry!

Visited the store today.... I'm currently searching for wedding shoes and was keen to try the Rainbow Club wedding shoes, unfortunately received appalling customer service in the footwear department. After asking the member of staff for 3 different shoe sizing she was quick to bring them back, unfortunately once returned with the shoes they were DUMPED on the seating area and the member of staff ran for her life away from us. To then discover that one of the shoes was the incorrect shoes, I also required different sizes but no member of staff was around. I'm shocked by the customer service and will not be returning.

I am writing this review out of frustration. I bought a TV from the store on February 16th, with extra insurance for safety (more than £1700). The TV arrived after a few days, but just 33-35 days later, dots and lines started appearing on the screen. I called John Lewis, and they said that since it was after 30 days, they wouldn't replace the faulty product. They sent an engineer after 15 days, who inspected the TV and came back a few days later to replace the screen. However, the replacement screen was of poor quality, and the remote stopped working. I called them several times, but received a very poor response, with them claiming it wasn't their fault. They said the first-year warranty is with Samsung, so they would send someone again. I am very disappointed with John Lewis' response and feel I should have gone for a cheaper option from other stores, as they would have done the same. I didn't experience any brand value with John Lewis. I even spoke to the escalation department, but received the same lack of ownership from that person. I am very disappointed and would advise buying expensive TVs from somewhere else until John Lewis changes their culture to bring ownership back into their expensive products.

Went to the cafe for coffee and cake and the prices of cakes were unbelievable especially the raspberry and white chocolate blondie traybake. Each piece was the size of a small cookie.....one bite big and they were asking £3!!!!!! I would rather go hungry than pay that amount. The prices of things are going up and up but the item size shrinks On a plus note the cappuccino and mocha coffees were very nice

I went to return a faulty £40 John Lewis branded toaster. It said "JOHN LEWIS" written on it. It was obviously nearly new and obviously barely used. The manageress was in a poor state of mind: immediately aggressive and confrontational. At stake was a £40 toaster. I left the toaster with her and left. I then went to the kitchen department to cancel a £10,000 order I had made to furnish a house. Twice a year I make the same order for my business. I have found a new supplier now. £10,000 - £40 = £9,960 sale. £9,960pa x the next 5 years = £49,800...

Not impressed with customer services at John Lewis. Ordered a washing machine, to arrive Saturday and damaged so had to be taken away after booking half day of work to receive washing machine. After couple of emails and I called in today, told another replacement would arrive Thursday between 7-5pm. I explained I had booked a plumber today for installation which I would have to pay and also to install on Thursday. I have to take another day off work now and have lost money, I have to pay a plumber twice now due to your sheer incompetence. No apology, offer of compensation or to arrange an urgent delivery today so plumber can install. If I want a reduced time slot I have to pay. I've logged a complaint and taking to social media to show how they treat long standing customers and how I am now out of pocket. Avoid purchasing from John Lewis who used to have a great reputation but sadly no more.

The lady who helped me choose frames was great at helping me find something that suited me rather then merely fit. They also do the second pair half price.

It would now seem impossible to get to speak to the Milton Keynes store. You either get a South African call centre or are asked to join a WhatsApp queue with multiple choice questions and someone will get back to you, all this via a bot. I have been awaiting a repair for three weeks and needed to speak to the store direct. 1 hour of trying later I gave up. If this is progress, I’m done with John Lewis and it’s no wonder to hear that they are having trading difficulties. A great shame as they used to be the best!

[Incident: 231209-001000] We purchased an LG washer-dryer from John Lewis which comes with a 2 year warranty from John Lewis and the same from the manufacturer. I am a long term customer of John Lewis and have always preferred to buy from them for peace of mind as they have their own warranty and a reputation for good customer service. You can image my surprise when I found out that neither if these points are true. In November/December of last year, our washer-dryer started to have an issue draining water after each cycle. As we have the warranty in place, I contacted John Lewis to report the issue. I was a little surprised when they asked me to call LG directly, as I thought it would be on them to contact LG on my behalf - but I went along with it anyway and contacted LG directly. LG confirmed the appliance was still under warranty and then arranged for a third party engineer to come and troubleshoot the issue. The engineer was booked for nearly 3 weeks later, on the last working day before the Christmas holidays. We waited the 3 weeks for him to attend, using the LG washer-dryer sparingly. As you might already have guessed, the engineer never showed up. We got a message later in the day saying that he'd been unable to find our address. Despite being more than annoyed, I contacted the third party company to rebook the visit which was again arranged for over 2 weeks later. We waited for the engineer to attend on this date and at approx 17:30 we received a message from him saying that he would not be attending as he has an issue with his van. Rather convenient at 17:30 on a Friday... Furious, I contacted them again to rebook the visit which surprise surprise was 2-3 weeks later. At this point I contacted John Lewis again to complain. I'd purchased the appliance from them and as such I felt they had a responsibility to escalate this on my behalf. John Lewis said they'd contacted LG and the third party to escalate but there was nothing more they could do. 3 weeks later and the engineer was due to re-attend - at this point we are also nearly 2 months on from initially reporting the fault. On this third visit the engineer never showed, stating he was unwell and couldn't attend. I contacted the third party again as well as John Lewis to complain. Nothing happened and I had to wait a further 2 weeks for a visit. Finally on the forth visit the engineer did attend. Sadly he couldn't fix the issue and said we needed a new pump. What I didn't realise at the time was that the engineer has make the whole issue 10 time worse. He'd snapped over the washing machine hose which meant that we were unable to reconnect the machine to the water. Additionally he's damaged something else which resulted in us having a water leak which flooded our kitchen. On the 5th visit, nearly 3 months on from the issue first happening the engineer was again unable to fix the fault. He replaced the pump but then found another issue with the draining cap which was cracked and thus causing the leak. Unfortunately the engineer didn't have the replacement part on him so promised to get that sent out the same day for next day delivery. A week and a half later, I am still waiting for it to be delivered. In the end I ordered the part myself. I installed it but it didn't work - not because it was the wrong part but because the engineer hadn't reassembled the appliance correctly after his visit. The front of the machine wasn't attached correctly and the door lock and sensor had been disconnect. So just to summarise - we're 3 months on and the fault still isn't fixed, I've have 5 visits booked and only twice has someone attended. On the two visits where an engineer attended, they made the matter worse. John Lewis have been zero help in this whole process. I have asked multiple times for this to be escalated and nothing has happened. I've asked multiple times for John Lewis to provide a replacement appliance, but nothing has happened. I've been promised updates and callbacks, but nothing has happened. My only option has been to take this to a claims court.

I was walking through the baby department In John Lewis today, Milton Keynes, and a sales assistant (Scott) approached me to let me know that the buggy I was using for my daughter was actually a recall. I had no idea and he explained that there was a design fault, he explained our options and was the most helpful sales assistant I have ever spoken too. I left the store with a new (safer) buggy. He was very polite and helpful.

I recently had the pleasure of getting a Clarins facial with Hannah, and it was such a wonderful experience! Hannah took the time to truly understand my needs and recommended the perfect treatment for me. Her gentle approach made me feel so relaxed throughout the entire session. To top it off, she even gave me samples of essential products that I might need for my holiday. As I was packing today, I couldn't help but think about how thoughtful she was. I will definitely be going back just to see her again!

I bought a Samsung watch here but accessories are extremely limited. Recently they have put in a lovely display of watch straps for their watches but stock only two that they had before the display was installed. Unless your are buying a product that costs hundreds or thousands they are not interested and that includes the staff of which some are very ignorant and will avoid you when they can see you require assistance. A store to avoid Unless you have a large wallet and even then, I'm sure you will leave feeling annoyed and disappointed. To add to this, I went in again before Christmas and bought an expensive silver Cross that was handed to me in a little bag that bore another name and a designer bracelet that was put in a torn watch box. This store really is the pits and has definitely seen the last of me !!

Fantastic beauty brands like Origins, Rituals and Aromatherapy Associates, and best high street clothes sale from brands like Whistles, Hobbs, Mint Velvet to John Lewis and lingerie section. A wide selection of framed paintings, seasonal gifts and cards. Café restaurant and customer support on the first floor of John Lewis. Please Note that the Milton Keynes temporary Christmas staff low intell students who do not do desensitizing of the security tags after you have paid for beauty products at the till so then when you shop elsewhere their security tag sounds the alarm in each store. I never have this problem in London because everyone knows on the Executive Board of John Lewis in London that I have previously worked for three of the largest police authorities in both the UK and the USA.

Dramatically gone down hill since covid. Electrical dept and phone service are two worst examples. No interest by staff to speak to new customers. Phone line clarity awful. Unless you know exactly what you want and 100% ready to buy, forget anything else this company claims to offer. Not surprised why JL business in trouble. ADDITION TO ABOVE. Tried complainng online. Forget that idea. You are put through to a customer service call centre in SOUTH AFRICA !. Spoke to someone, difficult to understand accent. Offered me "discount" for poor service BUT at a price dearer than the increased shop price !!!. Went into MK shop as last resort. THIS TIME, floor manager (Daryl, I think) and sales lady assistant could not have been more helpful. BUT a S.Africa service call centre.!!!! Come on JL get a grip.

Love John Lewis in MK. Very few department stores left so this one is great. The children's and baby departments have improved recently there seems to be more stock on the shelves. I would recommend this store to anyone. The cafe on the second floor is excellent for a coffee and treat!

Customer Services Team whom reached when calling Milton Keynes store are now based in the Philippines. They were unable to confirm the status of my order as they claim to have no means of contacting the local store directly to validate this. My order was supposed to have been delivered to my home but has ended up in purchase collection instead. An unplanned trip to the store is now needed to collect and item which may or may not be there. The service and support offered is now truly awful and I for one will not be choosing them for purchases in the future. Dame Sharon please take note.

Went for a meal here yesterday I had my husband with me who has dementia. He can find eating out very overwhelming but the lady who served us showed such kindness and understanding towards him.Thank you it means such a lot and made it a lovely experience.
