The Woughton House Hotel in Milton Keynes

This is a beautuful hotel, with very spacious room, in a beautiful setting. We didn't sleep well because of the noise from bathroom extractor fan which stayed on all the time, the constant buzz kept us awake.

Came here for a training event. Venue is beautiful. Food was lovely. Would love to come here for afternoon tea or dinner.

The service was great. The staff were friendly and helpful. My room was clean and comfortable. There were no food options for evening meals as the kitchen was having a refurbishment, but there is a foody pub just over the road. Great place to explore the area from if you have your own transport.

Hotel turns off heat to the entire hotel rather than let individual rooms control. Even when the temperatures at night are around 10 Celsius. They brought us a portable heater about an hour after we asked for one, but it didn't radiate much heat and left us cold overnight.

This is right by the side of the church where my parents are buried so always come to the grounds of the great hotel at Woughton House Woughton on the Green. It has now been turned into a hotel for refugees and Asylum seekers I think this country has had its days it Used to be called Great Britain now its not so great 😢

Parked up to make a booking enquiry and car was approached within seconds to inform me that this was private property. Will not be returning. Appalling service

Walked in to have a look around to see if me and my girlfriend might stay. Within seconds a member of staff said it was private property and we had to leave. This is despite the place being empty. Obviously not the best way to run a business if your idea of dealing with potential customers is to tell them to leave.

Attended wedding. Needs an up grade deco wise. Toilets smell. Staff miserable and unfriendly. Food not great.

Was a very good evening, attended a wedding reception, staff coped exceptionally well given the technical issues they had on the night.

No cash taken at bar only card lemonade was flat food was average some of the staff were more engaging than others

Świetny Hotel do wyjazdów rodzinnych jak i spotkań biznesowych, wesel oraz innych imprez okolicznościowych. Prawdopodobnie jest zamknięty, wielka szkoda. Właściciel powinien go otworzyć, naprawdę super Hotel.

Unfortunately now closed, another casualty of Covid and lockdowns. Shame as we have had some great times there, food was always great, service exceptional.So far a great number of my favourite restaurants have now gone.

Do not book this hotel unless you enjoy terrible customer service and being robbed of your money!!! I’m so disappointed and disgusted by the service and treatment I received from this hotel.

Very Poor. They cancelled my booking 6 months after i made it (because they got a better offer of a corporate booking) leaving me with no hotel (and no alternative) as it was an event weekend. I tried to speak with them on multiple occasions, they were either rude or didn't return my call. Wouldn't go anywhere near this place if you want any confidence in your booking being honoured.

Nightmare Wedding – avoid My wife and I got married in the USA in September 2019 and the wedding ceremony at Flamingo Hotel, Las Vegas, was amazing and the service we receive far exceeded our expectations and I would advise anyone who is considering getting married in Vegas to do it because nothing in my opinion can match the experience. Unfortunately, I cannot say the same about the wedding reception we booked for 26th October 2019 at the Woughton House Hotel, Milton Keynes. If I could give a minus 10 rating, I would as the whole experience was a disaster from start to finish. We booked the reception at Woughton House well in advance in November 2018 with the Conference and Events Manager. Throughout the following months, we agreed the menus and wine list, function timings, table layouts and entertainment. All seemed fine but we had no idea of what was to come. On the day of our wedding reception, my wife and I got there at about 10am as we were expecting guests who had booked rooms, and also wanted to make sure that all our arrangements were in place for the evening. On arrival we could see straightaway that the room layout and seating plan were wrong, no dance floor had been laid, and above all no details of each individual guests menu choices were available – information that had been given to the hotel in August. We were also horrified to find out that our main contact had gone on holiday without passing on our function details to the person in charge on the day, so no one on duty had any idea what was going on. Needless to say that was the start of the disaster……. Other failings were the unavailability of some pre-booked rooms for our guests, which for some were not ready until 17.30 – (the function start time was 18.00!!!!) some of our guests had travelled a great distance to celebrate the occasion, and this was not the welcome we or they were expecting. Upon arrival of our guests at 18.00, there were no pre-arrival drinks or crudités that we had pre- booked and in addition the bar attendant was unaware of our drinks tab – hence the embarrassment that some of our guests had to pay for their drinks, until this was rectified eventually. Other issues included the very slow pace of food service, due to staff shortage – and one of our guests overheard staff requesting agency staff to cope. Some of the tables including the one my elderly parents were sitting at, did not get their main course until we had finished our approximately 20 minutes before. At the end of the meal which took 3 hours, instead 2, the staff forgot to serve coffee, and cut the cake and serve in portions to each guest. At the end of the evening, we were given our bar tab for the guests, but there was no evidence/till roll to illustrate the end figure, as the hotel did not have any tills in use, and I later discovered upon making discreet enquires that the hotel had not used tills for 2 years prior. We wrote a letter of complaint to the hotel, and met with the general manager Simon Williams, who was aware that our special evening was a disaster, and although he was apologetic, and agreed that our complaint was justified, this matter was sent to the head office where we were offered a nights free stay, and the bar tab was written off. We did not accept the nights free stay as this would have brought back bitter memories. I used to work in the wedding industry for over 20 years that this was the worst wedding reception experience I have ever known, and this horrific evening will stay with us for the rest of our lives. Luckily, the USA saved us from going insane.

We booked this hotel as part of a two night package which included a visit to Bletchley Park and were not disappointed. From the friendly welcome on arrival, a lovely large comfortable bedroom, great breakfast choices and friendly and efficient service. The staff on reception, Charlotte and Lawrence were extremely helpful throughout our stay, providing information and support with our various requests. We can't forget to mention Antonio who was so helpful and professional at all times. We hope to return in the future, meanwhile we have recommended this hotel to family and friends.

Rooms were ok. They made errors with the booking and then tried to charge me £100 extra to fix them. The manager got shirty when I said no. Service in restaurant was basic (staff may be under training). They forgot to bring stuff. Food was expensive for what it was.

Can not cope with large parties of people with such a small bar, ran out of drinks early in the evening, had to queue ages

Held a wake here early February and food was good, but bar ran out of essential mixers and even though we were there for five hours did not get any from elsewhere.

Wonderful position, next door to a church and over the road from a nice pub. Relaxed atmosphere, clean and comfortable. Would definitely go again.

Catered for our funeral party. Excellent and friendly service by the staff.

Very nice, rooms very comfortable and clean. If I had to level any criticism would be that the TV's and bathrooms could use some modernisation but a minor gripe. Food in the restaurant was good, not mind blowing for the price however. Would definitely recommend and would stay here again if in the area.

Lovely hotel just back from a two night stay,and even thou we picked a very windy weekend ,still enjoyed are stay,very friendly staff lovely clean and well kept hotel ,good breakfast both days,and a nice pub just across the road

Wasn't very happy with a check-in experience and a couple of other times during the stay at this hotel. Pros/Likes -Room: clean and spacious -Bed: comfy king size bedding -Toiletries: I loved those fragrance, mind you, it'll be not for those who've fragrance allergy) -ITALIAN Guy: who was the one of very few who smiled & knew what customer service is/was.

Superb food, service & accomodation

I came for a conference for the day. Conference facilities were good. Food was excellent. Toilets were extremely cosy. Parking was plentiful. Satnav almost got me there. Intuition took me the last couple of hundred yards to the door. Staff were helpful.

Here for a Christmas break...this is a charming hotel...the staff ..from the receptionist to the manager..first class service. Restaurant lovely and cosy.. excellent menu ..also food really good.room beautiful done.

What a great find. Friendly staff, great location for Bletchley park, the room was a good size and the bed was exceptionally comfortable too. We stayed 2 nights had dinner on the first night which was very nice, breakfast was plentiful and tasty, will certainly book again.

Organised a pre baby arrival afternoon tea at 4pm When we arrived a wedding party was in the garden room.our table was laid but the doors opened,with cigarette smoke billowing in. We were moved to the restaurant.Our table was set but surrounded by dirty tables from an 18th lunch celebration. Understaffed and staff that were there were stressed and overworked. Would not recommend holding an event here.

Good restaurant, menu is small but full of interesting food. Staff were very good. Wine menu is also short but has all the key wines to suit. The decor is slightly odd, but a great chandelier.

Great place. Very busy when there is a wedding there, which is most Friday and Saturdays.

Went here for afternoon tea for my nans birthday . Really lovely place , very nicely decorated and attentive staff.

Noisy if there's a wedding. The alternative is they put you in a room with a velux and a pokey bathroom with a ceiling not for those over 1.8 metres and a sink not for those over 1.6 metres. A joke. The food is good.

Contemporary design, quite spacious with nice lounge areas and bars, free parking on site. The grounds is beautiful 😍, outside seating alot available. The food was ok however the staff were very professional and paid attention to detail. Good link to the M1, situated in a quiet neighborhood. Didn't quite get the chance to see their rooms on this occasion as I was attending an evening function. Poor mobile network however there is free WiFi so I guess it's ok. Great space for wedding receptions and private parties 👍🙌👌

Lovely time had with my partner and I,food was really good would go again.

My boyfriend and I stayed here for a couple of days while on holiday and we cannot fault this hotel at all! The room was spacious, clean, and cosy. The buffet breakfast was perfect. And the staff were very friendly and approachable. The hotel is tucked away next to a wooded area/ large park so it's nice and quiet, but at the same time it's a few minutes drive away from the city centre - perfect location.

Very pleasant decor and ambience but food is disappointing considering the price. For £35 per person for food alone there are better choices around.

Been here several times for different occasions and really love it here. Great decor, friendly staff. Lovely food. Only downside is the drinks are very expensive. A double jd and coke was £10 which I think is a bit harsh on the purse.

The hotel, rooms, reception and location are all very nice. Have only given 3 stars as the food and some waiting staff have let the hotel down. We were not alone in this as other guests felt the same and complained.

Only visited for a meeting. A little difficult to find as the Sat nav sent me into a housing development but only out by about 200 yards !! It was worth finding. Looks great and if looks are anything to go by a stay there would be rewarding.

What a charming place, right next door to a beautiful church not far from Milton Keynes. We had a suit room across driveway entrance, exceptionally clean, staff were friendly and the stay and breakfast was excellent.

Great staff, warmly welcomed and we received great service. Food was excellent with a good choice on offer. Only downside was our bed - two divans which didnt appear to be attached, just pushed together and covered with bedding. Funny but uncomfortable when you begin to slip in between the beds! Nevertheless it didn't detract from a lovely break away.

Afternoon tea was OK but not the best we have had however great service and lovely location.

Awkward to find. Decent Sofitel hotel. Venue room was difficult to keep warm. Food selection rather quirky at lunch. Location would be excellent for a wedding but not great for business meeting.

lovely House - however I was attending an afternoon tea with a hen do - sandwiches and cakes were lovely staff were friendly however the coffee was very strong and cold - disgusting ! Asked for a fresh pot as I felt maybe it had been standing somewhere for awhile but even the fresh pot was disgusting !!! Decided to go for a pot of tea instead - again cold ! At the price of £30 per person definitely was not value for money - would not be going again !!

Very comfortable beds and a great breakfast. Very busy weekend when we were there and noisy at night with a lads party in a room upstairs, a hen party and several birthday parties going on. Bit too busy for me but the staff were very helpful and pleasant. Evening meal was average. Overcooked risotto and smoked haddock saved by a well cooked egg.

We were married here a year ago and all staff then, especially Gareth were brilliant. A few hiccups (like the beer delivery not turning up causing inconvenience to our evening guests) and some billing mixups (hence 4 stars, not 5), but on the whole, very good. Despite the miserable weather we had a wonderful day. Returning for an evening meal to celebrate our first anniversary this week exceeded our expectations. The waiting staff were attentive, brought us complementary bubbly and Simon, the chef surprised us with a special heart-shaped dessert. He had been, accordingly to Sophie, our wedding day chef so our evening was rounded off perfectly. Thank you all. Sue and Duncan x

I like the privacy it offers. The extensive grounds are great in summer for chilling out. Also great for Sunday morning breakfast.
