Mama Africa in Milton Keynes

Well I've been visiting this place for some.years now and I've introduced many newbies to this amazing food .... I now travel 45 minutes on my cheat days from my diet just to get my beef stew it's amazing and I wish we had a Takeaway like this in Aylesbury....

Very nice food, owner was amazing

Food is amazing. However they do not open at 10:30am. Was really looking forward to some Jollof and stew.

Tasty Ghanaian dishes with friendly staff. Just need to upgrade the environment. Each meal cost £10 as at time of visit.

Honest review: my partner buys food from Mama Africa every now and then purely because all the other Ghanaian restaurants he preferred closed down. I ate there once and vowed never again but I go along with him for him but never eat the food. The food is average at best but the worst is the cleanliness of the restaurant. Sticky floors, dirty tables, dirty bins, blasting music, food looks like it’s been out for HOURS. I can imagine how unclean the back kitchen. The service isn’t great either, sometimes you’re waiting 10-15 minutes for someone to be present at the counter to serve you. I would not recommend this place to family or friends. If you are the owner or know the owner, I would highly advise you deep clean your front house and make the space more presentable. Also install a button where customers can ring for your attention if you are in the back of the kitchen. Sincerely, partner of a customer who wishes partner can buy food from a clean & decent establishment.

The food here was so nice. I happened to be in Milton Keynes area and passed by this place so thought to try. Very traditional african food and kind service. Jollof rice was good, the stew was great too and well seasoned. The fried fish was delicious. Would definitely go here again for some good Ghanaian food again.

I am so impressed by these guys. The food is delicious. I have driven 15 miles to come get Waakye and beef stew. They didn’t disappoint. My husband had jollof and red bream and every dish was on point. The customer service is second to none. Thank you from Buckingham!

The beef stew was nice, the rice as hard (microwaved, not good). The whole place needs some love and care. A saturday evening, I was the only customer and the staff seemed surprised to see me. They'll be even more surprised to see me a second time.

Traveled from Leicester to this restaurant only to find it closed. Didn’t pick my calls, stood there from 10am to 12:30pm and it was still closed!! They can’t be trusted, not consistent. Don’t do it if you from afar!!!

Lovely food but the fish needs some fried peppers so that it tastes seasoned.

Unfortunately not great at all. Jerk chicken was too salty, beef stew was not nice at all and jollof rice was just hard. I hate throwing food away, but this is what I had to do with what I bought. I have ordered similar African food elsewhere and it is usually lovely but unfortunately I have to rate this experience 1*.

Food is amazing, ive eaten in, and had take away, and can highly recommend doing either. Would suggest meat stew and jollof rice if your thinking of trying anything for first time

Went to see if they had a takeaway menu, totally ignored by the person serving, had a total attitude served three newcomers while I was waiting, so if you are not black African don't bother.

Lovely and polite staff. They are not yet fully operational but looking forward to when they are.

Amazing space for African foods. i love the fact that the foods is always served fresh and hot and also the variety of foods available. I wish the space had more seats. Overall a Must Try

Nice food to eat in and take away

The hygiene and quality of the food is not that great. Jellofe rice is either burnt or a sloap. And for £7 Really not good at all. And finally the hygiene of this place is not ideal in my opinion.
