Lunch, dinner, bed and breakfast and afternoon tea. Excellent food, staff outstanding. To sit outside with the beautiful gardens and views was a real treat.

We ate here as part of a dbb package. The food, whilst nice, was vastly over priced considering the portion sizeand the cheaper cuts of meat used. I rarely eat three courses but, at with these portions, five or six could have been consumed. Wine prices were equally eye watering with average bottles costing £30 and anything more decent £50 and up.

Food was very tasty and well presented. Restaurant is very traditional (as is hotel) which suits the slighter older demographic. Restaurant was busy on a Friday night so you have to book. Three course dinner was £55 with some courses attracting an additional supplement. Service was prompt (discretionary 10% supplement added to bill). We were on a packaged deal with three course diner included which represented good value for money.

The John Greville Restaurant is AMAZING, the food is well prepared and presented. Just can’t understand why people put it down. We nearly cancelled as a result a negative review. Dan the Restaurant Manager knows how to run a relaxing place, full marks there. The presentation of the wonderful food is top class. Does it really matter if the plate in the serving hand of the waiter is for the man? Just enjoy the moment.

My friends and I had afternoon tea in early July to celebrate a BIG birthday with a '0' in it. Although the afternoon tea itself was lovely we were left rather underwhelmed and disappointed by the total lack of customer service. The hotel is a beautiful old building with a stunning terrace giving amazing views over the countryside. Dissapointingly, we were shown to a small side room, with no view and already accommodated by 6 other people. We had to ask to order, find someone to provide more jam, and again for more tea. To pay, we were sent to the bar, which was unattended, so we waited, then again had to ask, waited again and finally someone turned up. Such a shame, we wouldn't go back.

Both the food and wine were superb. Service was also excellent despite an almost full restaurant. A thoughtful menu observing the season and making the most of some delicious local produce.

We enjoyed a three course dinner in the beautiful and historic restaurant. Sweet potato soup was a tasty starter with fresh warm rolls. Braised feather of beef exceptional main. Sticky toffee pudding was a disappointment to finish. We'd expect to pay for the venue but £171 for two was pricy and the food wasn't quite special enough for that price point.

Lovely evening meal at the restaurant whilst staying at the hotel. Food was delicious but quite expensive as are the wines.

Charingworth Manor set in delightful countryside overlooking the Cotswolds. The staff, especially Dan and Anna were so helpful and friendly they made the two nights so memorable. The food at breakfast and dinner was scrumptious.

dined there with an ovenight stay. cooked breakfast was good but museli was out of a packet and flourly. good staff and felt safe. very limited menu for dinner 3 starters, mains and desserts. one veg main was £23 for almost nothing and some filo pastry. other mains were better but small portions. good quality but pity about the portions and the price.

We were staying at the hotel for a night, and decided to have dinner in the main restaurant. As always (we had eaten here before) the food, service and ambiance were exceptional. If you ever stay here, eat here as well, you won’t be disappointed.

After an excellent dinner at the Fuzzy Duck last night, we were excited to try the even better ranked restaurant in the area. We were however, very disappointed. The food was terrible- ribeye was actually a sirloin/potentially a minute steak that was completely over cooked. The ‘red wine sauce’ with the chicken was just a box gravy. Overpriced and not a good ambience at all. For such a stunning building and location, the restaurant feels like it is in a dungeon. Disappointed that we wasted another opportunity to go to the Fuzzy Duck rather which is streets ahead of this place.

Standard British fair, but good, reasonably priced, good service, and a lovely evening. We went for my husband's Birthday, while we were in the Cotswold's and weren't disappointed. The food wasn't inspiring, but just good, basic, and plentiful for the price we paid. We will go here again if we are in the area.

First time we have ever been here. Our son bought us Afternoon Tea here for a birthday present and though the place has bags of charm, the staff friendly and professional ,it could be better. For us there were too many sweet items and not enough savoury. One round of sandwiches ( two pieces of bread) cut into 4 was all we had each. To go with this we then had two scones each and then four sweet treats. Sweet overload for us. Tea or coffee was plentiful and I felt the coffee was very good. Perhaps an option to swap sweet for savoury could be considered.

A fantastic place to snuggle up next to a warm fire and enjoy a wonderful afternoon tea. Staff are very accommodating, you hardly know they're there. Chef produced some fantastic tea time treats.

The staff, the food and the whole experience at this restaurant was fantastic. The opportunity to take home the extra cakes in a box was great as well. The iron girder we found in a cake, was not good. Yes! I exagerate a little as the metal appears to be more of a piece of drill swarf, but it tasted and felt like a girder. Lemon drizzle cake, by the way.Nevertheless, I do recommend this establishment.

A beautiful previous Manor House situated in the Cotswolds, wonderful afternoon lunch, the food was excellent and the service second to none. I did not stay as we were celebrating a Ruby Wedding Anniversary, but I will be back for a stay as it was so comfortable and relaxing.

Visited here last week. We spent some time finding the entrance to the hotel/restaurant but once there it was well worth it. We were not staying here, just went for an evening meal. The hotel was a 14th century manor house with a great approach. The staff were attentive, the restaurant was attractive and our meal was extremely well cooked and presented. Fine dining at its best. I started with duck liver parfait, then had some beautiful lamb followed by cheese. My wife had ham hock terrine followed by whole plaice and then a trio of chocolate desserts. It was just a delight to eat and we sent our congratulations back to the chef. To be recommended and we would hope to eat there again. JWS Newbury September 2017.

Up and coming place. Lovely chef, with great ideas for the place. Worth a visit. Had Sunday lunch, which was very nice. Good value for money. Can't wait to see what they can do..!! Well done!

Since the restaurant has been taken over it is much improved. The food is good and is now realistic competition takeaway option for Khushi.

Fresh food, great service, child friendly too, what more could you want from a restaurant serving Sunday Lunch. We've just come back from Sunday Lunch at Roots + Seeds in Cirencester. Crispy beer batter on the fish, really chunky chips (not fries) silky smooth mushy peas pretty much a perfect combination. The young front of house team have been well trained to make everyone feel welcome too.
