I've been going to Joanna Goodbite's off and on for about 10 years. Maybe a bit longer. I've always felt that the food was consistently good quality if a little expensive. However, that's twice recently that I've had a breakfast roll with bacon and a potato scone which only contained one tiny rasher of bacon. I'm sorry. But if I'm going to be paying over £3.00 I expect a minimum of two rashers of bacon. Just along the road there's a Greggs and when I've bought a roll and bacon from there it's £2.90 and contains three rashers of bacon. I really do hope that Joanna Goodbite sticks around but if they are going to compete on this street they need to have a think about their pricing and what the customer is getting for that price. There's a lot of students in the area and if I can't afford the food from Joanna Goodbite's (almost £10 for a burger) you can be damn sure they can't either.

Breakfast here on all 3 days on a trip down to the city. Stayed at Premier Inn nearby. Joanna's delivered. A no frills eating in area. Friendly staff. Excellent, well fired breakfast baps, well tasty. A proper builder's brew too. Busy wee cafe, students & builders. Great sandwich for our trip home up north too. Highly recommended.

Popped in for lunch on the recommendation of a colleague. Food was alright but not what I expected. Cheese and onion toastie on a paper plate on its own - no coleslaw or side salad as other cafés do. The icing on the empire biscuit was runny, which was strange. Not the experience I was expecting.

Best roll and sausage I've had. The two guys serving couldn't have been more pleasant and the roll and sausage and scone was awesome made fresh and better than any other in city centre without doubt!

Standard breakfast fare, but really good value, plenty of options and good service. Ideal for food on the go or to sit in.

the roll is utterly sublime, cooked to perfection upon order it is delivered in a lovely wee brown bag containing a gorgeous tissue. All that's needed is some salt and you've just been handed heaven in a bag. Cannot speak highly enough of the staff. When slippy mcginlay dropped his sandwich joanna was immediately there to provide him with another tasty treat.

This is a small cafe in the same precinct as Greggs. Attracted by their breakfast offer to compete with Greggs next door, wish I hadn’t bothered and stayed with Greggs. The breakfast roll was really poor quality sausage, coffee was really terrible and staff were monotone and couldn’t crack a smile. Wasn’t impressed at all

Went into Joanna’s for a ‘doubler’ breakfast roll of bacon and potato scone. Unfortunately didn’t check the roll before I left and was saddened to see I had just paid £2.20 for a potato scone and half a slice of bacon. No wonder it’s not as busy as it used to be.

We first went to this spot on a weekend, but found it closed, so returned on Monday morning. We ordered the works, but hold the black pudding as we hadn’t acquired a taste for that local delicacy. There was more than enough food on the plate and I couldn’t finish everything. What I did eat was tasty and served up quickly and hot. The price was so very reasonable. Definitely a better value option that the hotel we stayed at close by. No complaints at all. And their menu for lunch as well as their prepared sandwiches in the cooler all looked really good.

The sandwiches were prepacked and placed on a shelf with no individual labelling. I chose one from the tuna mayo section and when I started eating it found it was egg. I returned it and received limited apology, offer of replacement but no refund. I pointed out that fortunately I have no allergies but this lack of care could cause real problems for any customers with food allergies. The assistant did not appear to accept this as an important issue and attributed it to a mistake..

Unlike previous reviewer never had bad food here, prices are low, food is fresh and service is quick. A good sandwich bar and recommended stop in city centre.

If this had minus in their rating, I would have given that. We had the works and it was the worst food I’ve ever been served. I ate the baked beans and egg and tasted the rest of the food and left it. It actually put me off food for the rest of the day! I should’ve a photo for Trip Advisor, but didn’t even think it was worthy.

We left our George Street hotel just before 7AM intending to eat breakfast at a well-known Canadian chain whose initials are T.H. But, T.H. was not open! Imagine! Joanna Goodbites was! A glance at the menu and my eye fell directly on "The Works" (full...

The Whopper was juicy, fries crispy, and service speedy—even during lunch rush. Clean, well-located in Buchanan Galleries, with friendly staff. Perfect for a quick meal while shopping. Great value with meal deals. Highly recommend! 🍔🍟

Haddock was fresh, shop was clean, preparation on time, price competitive, portion size reasonable..., but I did not like the taste of the oil that the fish and chips were fried in, not sure if it was overdue for changing or the type of oil. Changing the oil regularly makes the difference. So I'm still looking for a substitute for catch west end 😞

Food is good if it arrives. They must employe absolute numpties who can't read a list, they often forget things.
