Gyros in Glasgow City

I was standing at the counter for quite some time completely ignored by the bald guy before the other lady came to check on me. I had absolutely no clue what I had to do to get served, even though he saw me many times but just didn't bother. Strange service for a business that's supposed to be highly customer focused.

Ordered on Uber eats and it came with a hair in my food.

It’s not an authentic gyro according to my boyfriend but we both agreed that it was so good! For mains, my boyfriend had a the mixed gyros which is chicken and pork whereas I had the chicken gyros. The gyros don’t look big but they are STUFFED, so much so that it was enough for my boyfriend who could literally eat a whole cow and not feel full say it made him full — I on the other hand had to fight to keep the nommies down 🤡. For sides we shared their fried halloumi which was to die for! As you can see they are chunky but the batter was light, crumbly, crunchy and just worth putting any diet on pause and it comes with sweet chili sauce :). I’d also recommend getting their hummus with pita bread cuz the hummus is nommies and fresh ✨ Food was ready quite quick but the shop is pretty limited in space for dine in. We were lucky to come in when there was no one but then people quickly started coming in and some struggled to get seats.

First time I tried was super bad. Second time my bf was craving one so we drove there, he clearly asked with no tzatziki cause he hates cucumber. We go home and guess what was inside his wrap! Tzatziki! Just now, we go again, I ordered for him, no tzatziki, and my bf clarifies that he hates cucumber, the guy says none of their products has cucumber. I stepped in as apparently the people who work there have no clue of their products. I ordered mine, no onions, he double checked it with me, NO ONIONS, i say no onions. We get our order, i taste the sauses there before we leave, just to be sure.Guess what his wrap had in!Tzatziki!!! Not only that, the guy started arguing with me that I never specified no tzatziki. We went home, guess what my wrap had in!!!ONIONS!!

Last minute drop in - fresh food 😋 clean and served with a smile. Gyros halal options served with delicious sides and full of flavour. Would be nice if they did even just a few hot drinks . But I will be back with my kids, who will love this

The food used to be very good and the gyros really tasty, very much resembling authentic Greek food. We visited recently and the taste has changed , food is much more spicy and super greasy. More resembles Middle East/Indian food than Greek . I would be nice to get the authentic recipe food back .Also the personnel with facial hair should really cover it because it is not very hygenic in an open kitchen environment.

If you want a pita full of garlic mayo,salad and hardly any meat then hit this place up .. your typical restaurant that looks great .. but the food doesn’t live up to the expectation.. £9 a meal and £2:75 a can of coke .. £4.50 for chips I wouldn’t have another meal from here if it was for free ..

Paid £13 for Skepasti that had no cheese and no meat at all! I also asked for no onion and they had put onion. The quality is really bad

Food is tasty enough but they have halved their portion sizes in recent times.

Ordered food from Gyros , Byers road to celebrate Valentine’s Day . I am a vegetarian so had ordered chickpea falafel gyros but to my disappointment was provided falafel gyros with feta cheese (no update on change of order from gyros ) which was so salty that I had to bin it and after fighting from hunger for over an hour ate pot noodles for Valentine’s Day . Complained to Deliveroo and was provided a credit for £0.80 for my share of gyros so Kudos to Deliveroo too as I will stay away from Deliveroo plus membership This would be last time I ordered from gyros , Byers road ..would recommend other vegans and vegetarians to stay away as well to save you from disappointment.

Can’t understand the negative reviews as we were delighted with our food. Everything was fresh and packed full of flavour. Best hummus I’ve ever had. Staff were lovely. Can’t wait to return!

It’s not terrible but still very expensive for a small portion of gyros. Yeros on Sauchiehall street is leagues ahead.

Went in to get the £24.95 meal for 2 deal advertised on website. Woman at the till said she wasn’t sure if they done it today so to be on safe side we can’t get it, to which I asked if she could ask someone who knew, turns out it was available. The deal stated 2 mains, 2 sides and 2 drinks, however the machine was only offering 1 side so she said we can only get 1. Staff were very rude and unhelpful. Food also dry and tasteless

Very enjoyable meal. My Congratulations to chef Tushar for preparing and serving lovely & hot food and thanks to the girl beyond counter Pragati for helping me to order food as it was my first experience with Greek foods. I must say it was great.

Awkward staff, very small portions and food was bland and cold. Won’t be back that’s for sure. Yerros is much better!

The cashier girl was nice wnd welcoming, the food was bad, fries juiced up with oil, i saw some hygiene concerns from cooks, the chicken wrap was good but overpriced for that small portion. There are many better options than this place.

Loved my experience here. Wish I’d been sooner and will definitely return. I had the chickpea gyros, my kids shared the chicken skewers and my husband chicken gyros. Would recommend! Thanks for a fantastic meal 😋

Was yesterday evening with my family there and me and my wee girl took chicken gyros and souvlaki. The chicken was quite red and we ask if it was cooked well because Iam pregnant as well. The told us it was well cooked. After we went house we felt sick and at one o’clock we have throwing up all night. At 3am we went to emergency and stayed there till 11 am . Don’t recommend!!!!

Despite some bad review I had this place a try. Staff were very pleasant and there was lots on offer on the menu. We enjoyed our meal very much and will be back!

Food was brilliant, exactly what I needed to keep me going on my subcrawl. Staff were so friendly too and had some great suggestions when I wasn’t sure what I wanted. Will definitely be back soon!

The vegetarian options are awful, the falafel are not prepared in store but just deep fried frozen and of very little quality. Extremely overpriced.

Halloumi salad was covered in horribly squirts pinky mayo all over.

Chicken far too dried like jerky chicken. It definitely been reheated. Not fresh at all, it look like a left over chicken from yesterday and reheated again. Order via Deliveroo.

Was great a few months ago, new staff poor service, specifications on order forgotten and ingredients left out of skepasti. Needs to improve

I love Greek food and the food here is very Greek. I would and do recommend this place to anyone who wants to try Greek food.

Not be going again, must have been yesterdays chips and pitta bread. Should have been served with a spoon that much sauce.

Mixed gyro - had a disappointingly small portion of meat inside. I shouldn’t be getting a mouthful of only tzatziki and flatbread in the middle of the piece. Disappointing experience compared to the wee van on kelvin way.

The food was great- had the veggie gyro and it was delicious, the halloumi was amazing. The service was quick and they even have Greek drinks available. Bit expensive.

Had a takeaway gyros on my way home. Tastes great! Both crispy and juicy meat bits in my favorite chicken +pork mix. Fresh veggies good amount of sauce ❤️ Very friendly staff 🙌 Not 5 ⭐️because it’s quite pricey for the portion size. Other than that, was a great experience, will be back!

They give good gyro. They guy behind the counter told me today that they give student discounts from Sunday to Thursday, be sure to keep that in mind before going there.

-Unfriendly staff -Dirty tables we asked to be cleaned and it seems to much to ask -The man who cleaned the table with dirty piece of cloth went to back making the gyros! -Horrible lamb gyros which was processed minced meat a factory product with plastic texture -Very expensive

Ordered two gyros (chicken and prawn). Expensive, small portions, and not flavourful.

Unfriendly staff buy a smile on ur face if you run a business, place was freezing cold never again enjoy ur 1 star.

£4 for a really small portion of chips. They also ask you if you want to tip them when you make your take away order. It seems like a threat of some sort.

This was okay. Really just a good (not amazing) kebab Clean Open late which means for a late night establishment the quality is pretty good.

Had the best pork gyros I’ve had outside of Greece- trashed absolutely fabulous. Bonus was I could also have a Mythos lager- you just can’t beat that combination. Thoroughly recommended.

Best place to grab a skepasti. Comes in a nice packaging. And the prices are decent for skepasti. Gyros on the other hand are too expensive

Just ordered the salad with the chicken and the portion was disappointingly small. And I mean very very poor compare to my friends loaded chicken fries, which was very small but not as mine. Barely, mine had half a handful of meat. As a greek I have to say that there are for sure better places to eat gyros in Glasgow!

Went during lunch time and I had to wait alone in the restaurant for 15 minutes to get one chicken gyros! The gyros sauce was not separated evenly inside the sandwich.

It was tasty but why adding chips inside the gyro? I did order a portion of chips separately. A bit of a con if you ask me.

I liked the loaded fries, but the BYOG that I had, the schnitzel chicken was really bland. Didn't finish it.

Ordered Aegean Schnitzel through Deliveroo. The chicken was very very chewy, tasted horrible and undercooked. Very disappointing experience ruined my dinner!! Never again!

Chicken and lamb mix gyros was very tasty and they have great opening-closing hours. For the price, which is ok for location, maybe portion could be slightly bigger though

Way over priced! You’re paying for the fancy packaging. Bought a chicken Gyros kebab and Halloumi fries was £15 quid.would say average at best.

Business hours state 12-10pm on A Thursday. Turned up at 9.55pm not looking for anything fancy, a pita or some chips. Immediately met with Sorry we’re shut. Fantastic. Went to chippy got a supper and met with a friendly face. Don’t worry will make sure local Greeks are aware of the warm welcome :)

Staff not very helpful when asked to clean the table the waitress said it was clean but it wasn't so she cleaned it again and then she wasn't very happy

Portions were very small for the prices and the zucchini balls were dreadful - gyros was okay but again nothing special given the prices

Great food. Served fast and accurately. Gyros were great, all the sides very nice, all the extra request I had, were met fast and with questions asked. Very pleased with the service and would definitely recommend. All of the haters complaining about the prices and portion size, come to Edinburgh to compare, lol..

The place was busy but this is likely due to the yummy gyros buns they produce. We did not have to wait long for the order to be completed. The place accomodates probably 10 guests plus a couple outside. You can do take away but sitting in is also nice.

Fast and friendly service. I had walked past this place so many times and always assumed it was a restaurant, but it's actually a very laid back takeaway with sit-in options both inside and out on the street outside. I liked the vibe - the cheesy pop music made me feel like I could be sitting at a beach snack shack in Greece, although the sunshine probably added to that feeling!

I went here last week and thought the place was amazing. So I decided to go back again this week and was massively disappointed. The shop was very busy so the food took 40 minutes for a take away but I didn’t mind as I could see they were busy. But the meal this time was about half the portion from then previous week and barely even had any chicken inside it this time around. The food was pretty cold and just didn’t impress. Definitely wasn’t worth the price this time around.

Gyros for £7.50 is a decent size, the chips are huge so peoples pictures may make it appear smaller than it is. The salad was good value for money and the food is quality and fresh. the many reviews of portion size being low is not valid in my oppinion, but perhaps you should be able to order large Gyros for say £11.

The gyros/ souvlaki is very authentic and good, however it is pricey. The extra paper packaging is unnecessary.

Overall, I’d say the gyros is alright, nothing amazing. The pita was way too toasted I felt like at first I was eating a taco it was that solid. There isn’t enough sauce which in turn made the gyros a bit dry, and the smallest amount of tomato and onion. Doesn’t feel like authentic Greek gyros, especially after having so many different ones in Athens. I’d say it’s still alright but i probably won’t get another one. Pricing is a bit much but a lot of food places charge more due to west end location. Overall it’s not bad but not great either. I’d still recommend on trying as it could be different for someone else, this is just my own experience.

Service was incredibly slow, to busy prioritising justeat/ubereats. Didn’t get the order right and food wasn’t particularly fresh.

We placed an order at 20:15 and it came an hour and a half later. We called the store at 09:15 and they gave us an ETA of 15 minutes which wasn't met as it came in 30 minutes ( 1.5h) . Furthermore the food came cold. Terrible customer obsession, the least the store could suggest is to give a drink/ side free in order to truly apologize for the inconvenience. I strongly not recommend to place an order from this particular store again.

Tasty food. I felt portion size was fine for cost. We were disappointed that the food was served in packaging that couldn't be recycled or composted.

Lamb kofta burger from the grill was good, but the size could be better. Loaded halloumi fries okay but the combo doesn't really got that well tbh. Paid £18.98 with delivery. Seem a lot for what was 70% potato.

Good, but can be better. Halloumi fries were decent but the gyro needs improvement. This shop can be considered a pricier and fancier but not necessarily tastier version of Mactassos in Kelvingrove Park. The staff is friendly and there's seating for around 12 indoors and 6 outdoors.

Bon burger halloumi/patate douce (même si la galette était peut-être un peu trop grosse et avait tendance à prendre trop le dessus sur le reste). Et bonne playlist musicale !

Tasty food, nice environment and good service. It was a bit pricier from what I'd expect but the food quality did pay off indeed.

£8 for a mixed gyros. Very small portion £2.40 for a can of Diet Coke Over priced and undersized. The same meal at Mactasos would be much cheaper, bigger portion and better quality. Won’t be back
