Stuck in Partick after a long drive from Yorkshire and had a wander. (90 mins free parking at Morrisons) Saw this cafe, well smelled it first), attached to a chippy. So I fancied a lunch. Wonderful table service from entrance to leaving. Lovely pot of tea and excellent fish, chips and curry sauce. I highly recommend but feel like all the locals will already know! Thanks for a lovely stop!

Cracking cafe with a very good menu. Attached to a fish and chip shop. 90min free car park at Morrisons nearby. Table service, very friendly and professional, wonderful food and a gentle atmosphere. I highly recommend.

Delighted to find this spot for good homemade food. I had a baked potatoes with beans and salad. Simple and tasty. Also conveniently near the railway station and bus stop.

The veggie pakora is delicious to die for! It’s curry flavor, made with onions. I was starving on a day to have pakora. I also had a classic beef burger which is good.

Absolutely love this wee cafe been going to it since I was a wean. The home-made steak pie and the chocolate fudge cake are amazing. Staff are always so lovely and chatty. Came again today with my wee girl and my partner and the waitress was great with my wee girl and she even went to the shop and bought her a wee sweetie which I thought was really nice. Definitely give it a try when you're in Partick you won't be disappointed!

Sat in with my daughter and grandchildren when the food came it was on the wrong plates so the waitress picked it up with her hands full of nail varnish and swapped them over then opened up my granddaughters toastie to see if she was given the right one not very hygienic and not a very nice experience in the chippy

Totally agree with coravisitsplaces. Food was good but waitress was surly and very cold. She seemed slightly more interested when we commented on her manner. Won't be back.

This place used to be brilliant but really started to go downhill of late, food was always great now patchy at best, last visit I paid almost 12 quid for cold lasagne barely a dozen chips and a can of irn bru, sadly it's doubtful I will return after that!

Ordered a smoked sausage before work smoked sausage was in the heated as I ordered it they deicided to put it back into the fryer before serving about hour later had to go home cause of upset stomach and been sick ever since

Came here for lunch whilst I was studying at the Partick library. The man behind the till was extremely kind and well mannered yet quick and efficient at his job. I ordered a portion of chips and didn’t wait more than five minutes. Of course, this being a chippy the food was not particularly healthy. But boy was it good. Come here often whilst I study would recommend to daily commuters and visitors of Dumbarton Road.

Amazing wee cafe for breakfast on a Saturday morning .. always there with our group and always accomadated to a table specific for our group which sometimes can reach larger numbers .staff are always on point and attentive 5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐s all round

I came here for a quick lunch, and I had a specific order because I have a condition which limits my diet. They were able to accommodate my needs, but I found the service very cold. It felt as though I was a bother for coming and ordering something specific, which I didn’t appreciate since a lot of places will accommodate without a second glance. From the way the host was greeting customers by name I get the impression that this place will treat you very well if you are a local and visit regularly, but treats you with suspicion if you aren’t a regular. Because of this I wouldn’t go back or recommend it.

Bit pricey but lovely food and top notch service

Breakfast has increased in price to £7 but the quality has decreased, hard overcooked potato scone Small egg , really small slice of toast , one slice of overcooked bacon which was too hard to eat , thin black pudding over cooked and a tiny little bowl of baked beans, not worth £7 overpriced!

Very busy Friday afternoon,but we managed to get table,fast friendly waitress,superb Battered Haddock salad Inc pot of tea bread and butter only £9.95

This is a great wee local cafe. Serves excellent fish tea and a variety of meals including your tea for less than £10! Very clean with attentive and pleasant staff clearly lots of regular customers always a good sign. Highly recommend

Was out on a boozy subcrawl and we popped in here for some chips. They hit the spot, beat chippy chips I’ve had in a long time. Customer service was fab and very reasonably priced. Highly recommend this place.

I was so disappointed with the food at Avanti. I visited recently with my friend as we have been to Avanti before & is a good meeting point for both of us, but neither of us will be visiting again. The waiting staff are always lovely to the customers & I will always give credit to them. They are friendly, bubbly & down to earth & always make anyone feel welcome. The problem is the food. I had Macaroni Cheese. It was not hot & really dry, so this made it difficult to swallow. My friend had the Fish Tea & she has always enjoyed her meal, but the batter was terrible & although the food is fried- you do not expect it to have a dirty greasy taste. I also had an Empire biscuit & could not eat it as it tasted rancid & had clearly gone by its best. It is disappointing that the standards have dropped & neither my friend or I will visit again. I can make allowances if it had been busy, but there was only one other table present when I visited.

Was in on Saturday the lady that served us was friendly and greeted you in a positive manner my Steak pie was delicious large mash and turnip lovely thanks fir great service

Terrible service. Food came for one of us . Waited for ages but the rest of the order had been forgotten. Had to ask again for our coffees. They came with no saucer and spilt as the waitress set them down. All this time one waitress had been sweeping the floor under many tables , even asking customers to move ! This waitress was extremely rude when I challenged her. Staff here really need to be trained properly. Avoid this place.

Great Food, Great Service, Friendly Staff. I was looking for a cafe to take my young children to for their tea after an afternoon at kelvinhall. After walking up dumbarton rd through partick and checking each side of the street, i couldn’t see anywhere suitable for young kids, it was either a bar or a noodle bar. We ended up in morrisons only to be told they had stopped serving food! Told the kids that the next place we came to that we were just going in and luckily enough it happened to be this place. The service was great and food was quick and was fantastic no waste from the kids! The coffee was the nicest i’ve had out and about in a LONG time. felt very comfortable with my kids there even though my 1yr old smashed a plate! the lady very reassuring that everything was alright and the young lady couldn’t have been more helpful. I kept trying to tidy up after my boys and each time the young lady came over and told me not to worry that she would take care of it. I will 100% be back here with my family as it made us feel at ease and I would highly recommend it! Thanks Ladies!

Great location right next to underground and Partick interchange. Food is always fresh and the menu as well as traditional fish and chips also has traditional Scottish food and a vast menu with other options. Prices are very reasonable and the staff are very pleasant and helpful nothing too much for them. I recommend this cafeteria if you are in the area try it once and you will be back for more. I have been taken my girl to this wee chippy every few months since she was little. They chips have always been lovely (still are) and the food in general is nice. Yes it's pricey BUT so is everywhere now. We don't go out as much anymore due to how expensive everywhere is but we visited a month ago. The waitress was the waitress who has been there for many years and everyone knows her as its a very community based cafe. As this waitress makes it community based and welcoming. Conversations continue with customers as she is serving you. If you don't like that then don't go. I have gotten used to it and often join in on the conversation. All the customers are all up for a bit of banter and community wise it's great as this is probably why people come, for the banter, the social aspect the good food and that interaction that most of us deeply need. So all in all an amazing wee place. However...and there is always a however. I have noticed the last few times I have visited that my daughters wheelchair is seen as a "problem" I have been asked if can be "moved", "folded" or "put somewhere" 🤔. Now my girl does like to sit on a different chair particularly if we are eating out. As she likes sitting with the familiy. So yes is the answer to all the questions above. However what if she couldn't? What if she needed to stay in the chair? What if the answer is no? Then as I assisted my daughter on a restaurant chair, the wheelchair was taken away!! I had not even gotten my bag or the equipment we needed. I asked for it back and was tol she would get it. However as I stated above. She is well known and was chatting to other costumers and didn't get our chair. I got it. Then as I was returning ro our table with our equipment we were asked to sit further in so other people could sit beside us. This is something I have never experienced before "sharing a table" and I wasn't about to start now especially given if someone sat beside us we wouldn't have access if my daughter needed out, help or medical treatment. That apart my daughter 's issues are often met by rolling eyes or looks and I was not willing to share a table with strangers and enjoy our meal whilst experiencing judgments and ignorance. So unfortunately we won't be back whilst we are using the wheelchair untill the staff are more understanding of how some people with disabilities need a bit more space and their chairs with them. Wheelchairs are given to people with disabilities for a reason they are not a fashion accessory.

This is the worst place for fish £4:30 for one 6inch fish asked the price for 2 got told abruptly £8 what a total rip off , the girl serving was very cheeky if it had been for myself i would have left but it was for a 87year old ,,who since told me it was rotten ,,,,,,I recommend you sort your pricing and your servers attitude, Would never GO back

Really nice wee cafe which my girlfriend & I go to quite a lot. Great breakfasts for a good price, it's always clean & tidy & the staff are lovely as well.

Im not someone who normally complains , check my reviews . This place used to he VERY good, their special fish was perfect, recently they have definately went downhill, so sad , partick needs a good chippy. Food tonight was dregs , it had to go in bin , its not the first time , but after 7pm the food goes downhill, not sure if its youngs staff but they just dont seem to care., from now on will just go to chinese next door , food here is very consistent

Absolutely amazing food been here a couple of times just found out they deliver to my area as well so chuffed by far my favourite place to go for takeaway or to even sit in staff a nice as well get a free cup or tea to go with your food just amazing would recommend going’s if not went

We popped in yesterday for a pot of tea and a coke. The white mug was chipped and filthy inside. I complained and the suntanned lady brought another filthy cup. 'Thats all we have' she replied then walked away. ahem...and then she forgot to bring the coke over. The table was filthy with tomato sauce and old food at our feet. Terrible dive .. defo a greasy spoon.. disgusting and awful. Avoid in my opinion

Hands down the best fish we have had. The onion rings, chips and salad was amazing. Definitely will be back. The service was brilliant. From the minute we walked in until we left it was fantastic.

This is a great restaurant right next to Partick station. Food is traditional Scottish with a vast menu. Everything is homemade and delicious, portions are very generous and good value for money. The staff are very obliging and ready to cater to your every whim. The place is very clean and inviting. This was our first experience of this restaurant but we will use it regularly when we are in Glasgow. Well done to all. Hope to see you all again in October for some delicious fish and great food. This fish restaurant is right next to Partick station they serve delicious homemade Scottish traditional cuisine as well as fresh fish. They are open 7 days a week. The menu is vast and portions are generous. The price is also reasonable. The restaurant is very clean and the staff are friendly and very obliging. This was our first experience in this restaurant but we shall eat here every time we are in Glasgow. Thanks to all hope to see you again in October. Margaret and Paul (Malta)

This is my local chip shop the bloke is great nice friendly guy but the women who works in there my god!, I walk passed and see her serving and I don’t want to go in the shop she is rude very blunt and for some reason has a loving of putting half a bottle of vinegar on everything the food is nice but when you have a rude person working for this establishment it will never become a decent chippy, tbh I hope the women reads this becuase I hate her

Got a 12 inch mushroom pizza that look like a 9 in a 12 inch box, tasted like rubber and made me ill the next day. Staff was friendly enough but never again will I eat here.

This is a great cafe right at Partick bus station. Good selection of light snacks and full meals. Meals have special offer prices which are really reasonable and portions are generous. The fish and chips is amazing with the fish cooked in the adjacent chip shop. Staff are very friendly and only too happy to help. Payment is by cash so remember before you go. Does not serve variety of cakes but does do scones, biscuits etc and hot and cold drinks. Cafe is spotlessly clean.

I've had late lunch with my family today, it was delicious, best fish n chips, both my partner n daughter enjoyed their cheese burgers, chef kindly gave us extra grated cheese and salad, highly recommend it

Great cafe, l call in here quite often for breakfast and coffee on my days off, very good value I deed. I'm told they make a great fish & chips also, nice to see a food business enforcing the face mask rule, l wear one to protect others, if someone has a medical reason for not wearing one they should just stay at home and protect the NHS.

Go here before going to football with my grandsons. Always busy and staff very nice. Food is good, they have the chippy next door. They do all day breakfasts as well as homemade steak pie, macaroni cheese and various other items. Would recommend a visit if you're out and about in Partick.

My sister visited on 30th Dec and had a fish tea, Lovely fish, freshly cooked chips, crisp salad, bread and tea served by a nice young waitress. MY family and I have eaten here a few times and have always been happy with our meals.

What has happened to your chips?! Been going to this chip shop for 6 years and always good. Last 3 times chips have been terrible. Looked and tasted like reheats. Half of the last bag was inedible.

Wondering by as a tourist, I stopped at the cafe for a quick lunch. It was a bit expensive for what it is. Staff wasn’t nice either. I asked about the juices they have (the menu said they have fresh juices) and the lady just pointed to the fridge containing iron bru and other sodas? I couldn’t get it... I thought it was really rude of her. She showed having no patience with foreigners... if you’re one: go somewhere else!
