Pizza Amore in Glasgow City

Hamburger very greasy chips not great either think they use a thing called dry white which you can taste on chip's!!

The food here is amazing if your looking for traditional fish and chips, the fish is cooked while you wait for that fresh crispy taste plus they do a nice little bit of lemon and tartar sauce included if you ask for it infact the guy went out and bought me a fresh lemon on the spot, the only thing that was better than the service was the taste when i got home and dug into my fish supper. Top service and top notch food, keep up the good work guys 🤌

The pizza looked better in the picture than in reality but it wasn't terrible, The staff was really nice and the place isn't huge but you could smell fried oil

Not really sure why this is named Pizza Amore…worst pizza I have had for years and also overpriced compared to high end pizza places. Maybe just stick to the deep fried variety if ordering.

Worst chippy I have ever tried . Feel sad while eating it. It's a waste of money. Chippy battered is like pan cake so disappointed .Taste is so bland. Battered sausage look disgusting

Been going to this chip shop for over 30 years. From its Mario’s glory days until now it’s been an ever present for my family. Under its current owners it still provides great value, portion size and quality. Solid as a rock.

Normally my favourite chippy. Usually wait for 10 minutes and get steaming hot chips. This time was given chips straight away and they were really poor! Hope this was a one off.

I had a fish supper here,have to say it was superb,I have tried fish suppers all over Scotland,and it’s up there with Crail and Largs for me,beautiful moist fish,loved the batter and chips were great too,would highly reccomend and this is something we travel to get,Crail being my favourite but it’s a very close 2nd👏👏👏

Had home delivery. Took over 1.5 hours. Pizzas!! 3 16” and a small pizza. 1 was over cooked to the point when biting into it… it shattered. The other 2 were vile. Soft and doughy… as in undercooked. Called to complain and decided to take the food back. On entering I was met with “wat is wrong with ur pizza” to show him and be told. The cooked 1 was ok!! It was dripping in oil. The base could be used as a table top. Showing the other uncooked 2 he said “yeh other people send food back to get refunds” if that’s the case mate don’t sell rubbish food. Never eating from there ever again. Ps the small pizza was a frizby but I don’t care coz it was ham and pineapple!! Shouldn’t be on a pizza. Lol Good luck eating out of here to anyone else.

When going to the Glasgow Warriors games at Scotsoun often stop here for a bag of chips. Always taste great and service friendly. Sometimes have to wait for 10 minutes but worth it .

they always get you to wait for freshly prepared fish and chips, they make this whilst you wait, but then when they serve it, they give you fish that was there since you arrived at first and not the fresh fried stuff which they are putting as you stand like a duck, and then chips that have obviously been in the hot hold for a bit and hardened and a couple of the fresh fried ones on the top. this lot are for a watching, they have no shame and when you complain it's on deaf ears. l give them 2/10 for cheek and for just for being ripped off.

Update on my review. I'm so angry. The last couple of times I've ordered from here the food has been inedible. I said I'd never go back but stupidly gave it another chance tonight. £15 down, over an hour wait for a freezing cold pizza that was not fresh to show up. After 2 slices which I had to force down I couldn't eat anymore. Phoned to complain and was told i have to contact just eat for a refund. I have used the place loads over the years and spend alot of money on the food but it has went down hill drastically over the last couple of years. I won't be using again!

I was in tonight getting my dinner the man in the front was nothing but rude the way he spoke to the young girls at the front of the shop was absolutely disgusting!! If this was my daughter I would be livid, I actually had to ask the young girl was she ok? This isn’t the first time I’ve been in and he’s been rude to staff. I won’t be using the chip shop again. The food is good from it but I left the chippy with sheer anger this behaviour shouldn’t be accepted!

If there's a better chippy in Glasgow I haven't found it yet, although research is ongoing. If I was only judging it as a chippy I'd still rate it very highly. But there's much more: I've yet to find a better pizza in Glasgow either. Since the pandemic began, Pizza Amore has been my regular go-to for an online delivered supper. Fish supper comes with perfectly-cooked haddock coated in the kind of crisp and light batter that doesn't sit heavily on the tum, and succulent chips just as they should be. Same with the pizzas: the crust is a perfect texture, not at all chewy. The basic pizza with a choice of five toppings from a wide selection (always olives and anchovies for me, for that authentic taste if Italy, but you can put pineapple on if you really must!) is very good value but I can also recommend the meat feast. Pizza Amore gets very busy sometimes. As food is cooked to order there's often a wait in the shop, and deliveries, which are usually prompt, may be delayed at times of high demand, like Friday evenings. For this reason I've chosen to make my weeky Fryday., Thursday.

Ordered for delivery four portions of ‘small’ chips, four fritters and a half pizza supper for six people just before 7pm on Thursday 1 April 2021. A wee unhealthy treat to kickstart the holiday weekend! The order eventually arrived around 8pm, despite being informed it would arrive at 7.40pm - things get busy, so no probs on the delay although it would have been nice to have been updated. When we opened the order, three portions of chips were missing, so we phoned immediately, just in case the person delivering had left them in their car, possibly mixed up with another order. The part of the order that did arrive, well the chips were cold, few and far between. We did order ‘small’ though, at £2 plus per bag! The person at the chip shop apologised for the mistake and informed us that the delivery driver was on their way back and as we only stayed five minutes away, she would get the chips sent up straight away. Again, no real issues as things can go wrong sometimes. After waiting a further 45 minutes, I had to phone again to query where the rest of our order was, only to be passed between three people, each never informing me that whom I was speaking to was changing - so most of the time I was hearing a different person on the phone and not realising the person was talking to me. Rather than asking me who I was and where I stayed, each of the individuals would come on the phone saying ‘is this an order for address X… address Y… address Z’ and so on. I had to insist that they take my details so we could move forward. I eventually got a ‘sorry we’ve been busy’ comment and the promise that the chips will be sent straight away. I was also asked if ‘I would like something added to the order’, not offered anything. The chips arrived ten mins later, handed over without an apology. Nothing was added. Absolute shocking service, so unsubscribing from their mailing list. Be careful if using and make sure you’ve eaten beforehand.

I was here tonight for fish and chips. Fantastic food and great value. But I was a little bummed out to find that you guys are not abiding by the new Scottish restrictions for takeaways (no-entry basis collections only). Customers were crammed into a tiny space within the takeaway while the guy at the tills is not wearing a mask when serving customers within a 1-metre distance. I was not particularly comfortable when I got served. I want to support local businesses in these difficult COVID times, but please play by the rules that other takeaways are following.

Food was ok ,but a bit of a rip off with chips served in container's as you only get half the chip's that you used to get plus charge you a service charge of 50p for ordering online and going to pick it up 🤬

Very poor service tonight, waited 25 minutes for a fish supper and a kids 7inch pizza. After my fish supper being given to another customer who was served after me and the girl on the counter being too busy chatting and offering me a burnt kids 7 inch pizza or the option to wait another 20 minutes for them to cook another I think I can surely say I shall not be back! This is the 2nd time I have received bad service in this place and it appears that unless you are a regular customer and the staff know you, then you shall not receive a good service. If you read through previous reviews you shall see the same line time and time again "thank you for response as this will allow us to improve our service to our customers, please give us another chance to serve you" Sadly no lessons have been learnt here and the service does not improve!! I will not give you another chance to serve me so no point in typing it this time in your copy and paste response!

Ordered previously from JustEat and received a leaflet with the order so decided to order directly through their website rather than use JustEat, what a mistake that was. We put the order through at 18:20 and it said it was due at 19:00, it got to 19:15 and gave them a ring to ask for an update. The man I spoke to said that they were still waiting on a driver so we waited for longer. Waited until 19:45 and decided to call them back, a lady then told me the delivery driver left 5 minutes ago and apologised and said it will be there soon, the food eventually turned up at 20:05, stone cold! The delivery driver offered no apology at all, in fact he didn’t even say a word to me! I had a look on the bag and they had written the correct flat number but not the correct street so I had a look on google maps and that address is no where near us, doesn’t take a genius to work out that the driver obviously went to the wrong address then travelled to us and that is why our food was stone cold. So so disappointing, won’t be ordering from them again.

Best pizza crunch, although in recent years they have started using polystyrene takeaway dishes for portion control and the bags of chips is now incredibly smaller. Would be better for the environment if they just stuck to using paper and could use something else to measure the amount been given out.

This place used to be better than the average Glasgow chippy. Not anymore. Tonight I got the greasiest fish I think I've ever had, served with stone cold chips. I was very hungry but ended up throwing most of it out. What I did eat has left me feeling rather unwell. Probably the worst fish supper I have ever had in over forty years of eating them across the U.K. Would have been disappointing even at half the price.

With Scotstoun stadium near by this is a favorite for Glasgow Warriors supporters on a Friday night. Proper chip shop that does Pizzas as well and for locals takes orders in advance. Friendly staff. Because its good the only downside is it gets busy.

Food is amazing I live in clydebank you wont find a better pizza or chippy about this shop has the highest quality of food and pizza are what pizzas are meant to be I dont use just eat I call my order in as it gets delivered quicker dont see why so many people are giving this place bad reviews or moaning about the place food is delivered quickly can't fault the place staff are brilliant suggest you phone your orders in as just eat is a nightmare but 5 star service

Nicole is a awesome manager. Fish and chips are one of the best i have tried in glasgow. Pizzas are amazing. Food is well worth the money. Anytime I'm in the area this is my go to place for good food.

Two hours I waited for delivery of two sweet chilli pizzas had to phone back on multiple occasions to get no reason as to why they took so long and once the did arrive where cold and rubbery as this is the second time this has happened I will no be ordering from there again

Best chips and pizza in Glasgow! Mmmmm

Tonight I ordered from here after not having eaten there in some time and the food wasn't as good as it used to be, I don't know what's changed. Fritters tasted like they had been fried and fried again as they were saturated in grease and fat. Chips weren't as crispy as they used to be and pizza crunch was hard on the outside but rather under done in the middle. Sad to say I won't be back!

También pedimos pollo rebozado y papas fritas y el pollo era duro como una roca y no comestible. Hicimos contacto para quejarnos pero recibimos abusos del propietario, no devolveremos la costumbre y no recomendaríamos este lugar a nadie.

Me mudé a esta área hace 2 años y mientras esperaba la instalación de una nueva cocina, comimos mucha comida para llevar. nos topamos con el Amore una noche y obtuvimos las mejores cenas de pescado que había probado en años. usamos el Amore una vez al mes como regalo, a veces pescado y patatas fritas a veces "pica y mezcla triple", nunca nos ha decepcionado, las papas fritas son siempre frescas y perfectas, la cena de pescado de 2 piezas es suficiente para 2 personas fácilmente.

Delivery drivers work 8 hour shifts without breaks or any offers of food for 20 pound petrol and without business insurance which is illegal...the chips may be good but if only people seen how things are i.e cleanliness and attitude of owner!!!u would be eating else where

No puedo alabar amore lo suficiente. Fuimos al centro de la ciudad a un par de veces y entonces Alexandra Parade abrió sus puertas. Hemos estado 5 veces. La comida es espectacular. Bien sazonada, bien presentado y siempre nos encontrará una mesa cuando no hemos reservado con mi bebé. Las ofertas son fantásticas y menús extenso y asequible con un presupuesto limitado. El personal es siempre y sin excepción amable, acogedor, amable y discreto. No puedo alabar este restaurante y todas las ramas nada más que excepcional. Además, las mejores cenas de pescado en Glasgow, si no Escocia. Es una verdadera joya cuando la comida en Glasgow es generalmente mediocre y demasiado caro. Acogedor, limpio y sin falla. Soy un auténtico insisto bastante para un buen servicio al cliente y amore lo tiene todo. El pescado y las patatas fritas aquí una o dos veces al mes, como un lujo. La cena especial pescado es excelente. El revestimiento miga natural es luminoso y fresco. El pescado es perfectamente preparado y siempre excepcionalmente fresco. El tamaño de las porciones son geniales y por la calidad, el precio es fantástica. No he probado nada más desde aquí, y como el pescado es tan increíblemente bien, probablemente nunca lo hará.

Me encanta esta pequeña para llevar, es fantástico. Su pescado y patatas fritas son los mejores. Nunca me ha decepcionado con cualquier cosa que he tenido desde la tienda. El personal es siempre amable y no puedo hacer más por ti. Esta noche mi marido tenía lasaña y yo tenía un cuarto de libra tocino y queso hamburguesa con un lado de aros de cebolla. Todo fue fantástico y normalmente no suelo pedir hamburguesas. Hay una pequeña tienda de chips a la vuelta de la esquina de que podía llegar a más rápido pero que ni siquiera a medio camino a la altura de las normas de la pizza Amore. Una pequeña propina si te apetece comida de calidad, ir a pizza Amore, que nunca decepción, ya que tienen un extenso menú. Y si estás llamando para llevar y necesitas algo así como leche, chocolate o cigarrillos incluso pop a la tienda de al lado. Top marcas a esta gran tienda de comida para llevar.

Use your shop all the time for deliveries and can't fault the food tho you could maybe have some words with your dirty delivery drives after all they are the face of the company, between them turning up at the door smelling of cannabis or the woman with the greasy hair who could do with a good wash turning up smelling of drink. After all it is against the law to do any the above while driving either have words or next time they appear at my door I will won't think twice on calling the police down right disgrace

I'm a sales rep and visited Glasgow for the 1st time for four days and was directed to this restaurant by my landlord, I can say hand on heart this is the best chippy in the country, fantastic staff and even better food, the pizzas are better than the big name guys and the chips are brilliant, I will continue to visit every time I'm in Glasgow even if I'm on the other side of the city. This place is definitely one of the best takeaways in glasgow and further, the range of food is excellent from breakfast thru lunch to dinner and the food cooked with care and glasgow italian flair, staff are really nice I cant recommend it highly enough, this is where jesus gets his takeaways after a hard nights turning water in the wine

Very welcoming and friendly staff. You're custom is made to feel greatly appreciated. I wouldn't go to any other chip shop for a fish supper, definitely the best I've had in Glasgow. Top quality food and I highly recommend the 'Bad Boy' burgers and their oven baked pizzas. Never had anything but a quality experience.

This is a fantastic place with the fish prepared on premise and cooked to order. They use palm oil for frying, so chips suitable for vegetarians. Not tried pizza cause the fish and chips are just so good.Staff are brilliant and they don' t make 'em like Stephen anymore. Always friendly always professional and they definitely go the extra mile! Great chip shop and friendly staff.On a recent visit were given a small poke of chips while waiting for our order.Also do great offers like 2 for 1 haggis suppers to celebrate Burns Night. The haggis suppers are my favourite!

Great chips as everyone else seems to say! Pizzas are ok, not really the style I like. The staff are always friendly, especially the guy who owns it who greets everyone as they enter.

I travel from Edinburgh 5 times a month & this is the best place to go for your food. The food is always Very fresh & the service you receive from the staff & Owner Steph is just outstanding. I have family living all around Glasgow who all now use this chippy. If you miss your home cooking whilst out, well this place will make you feel at home! The food here is top class! Everything is cooked to order but everything is worth waiting that wee but longer for! Only slight criticism would be how the owner speaks to the staff but it's his business and the results are top class!

Pizza Amore came highly recommended and I was not disappointed. Having lived in the States for a few years I always enjoy a good chippy when I come home to Scotland. This was by far the best I have had in a long time. The food was so fresh - no re-heats here. The service was excellent too. An overall great eating experience. So good we went back twice during our stay!

I am from the states and my wife is from Glasgow. We live in the states now, but every time we visit we search for the best eats in town. Don't let the name fool you. This place is more than just pizza. It is also the best chippy in town. The fish is fresh off the boat and the service is great. You wont be disappointed.

I am one very happy customer and I visit pizza amore on a regular basis I have never been disappontied with any of the food I have purchased from there food is always fresh and sent out at a high standard the staff are just down to earth and try there best to keep a smile on there face and give excellent customer service even tho they busy fridays are always jumping but staff are always happy and chatty always a warm greeting and a nice goodbye if you are a regular as I am you will know yourself the staff always remember your name and if the don't and your new will always make an effort to try and get to know you I was dissapointed to read some of the poor reviews on pizza amore about how the reviews are made up by family and friends what these people fail to realise is if you love this place and visit it you are part of the family and you make friends with staff yeah it may not be a restraunt where you can sit down ect but if you asked them for a seat they would bend over backwards to give you one espescialy the elderly if there is a wait for there food especialy as fish is cooked to order so never soggy fish please guys give this place a shot you will love it :-)

Upon entering this establishment i was greeted warmly by the 2 young ladies behind the counter area. They advised me that they were busy and would be with me in a minuete but i was to have a look at there menu. Whilst doing this the owner had appeared and made a very friendly greeting introducing himself and asking what i would like. I had purchased a king rib supper and on advisement from the owner a tub of gravy. I had a ten minuete wait for the food but i could see they were slammed and that the food was getting freshly prepared. I accepted my food when it was ready and was asked to enjoy and come back again. As i ate my meal i was very suprised to have enjoyed it so much. The freshness of the food was clear and made it taste delicious. And the gravy was so good i even bought a tub for my sunday dinner the following sunday. The staff and owner are clearly passionate about the food and service and care for there regulars which was obvious wth remembering there names and orders as well as being genuinly interested in there stories. I would reccomend Pizza Amore to anybody! Thanks alot guys!

Pizza Amore is my favourite eating place and I can't drive past without paying a visit. The Fish and Chips are always top notch and freshly cooked to order - they're so good I haven't even got round to trying the Pizza! I normally call with my order ten mins before arrival knowing my food will be fresh and ready to eat. The staff are very friendly and attentive to customers and Stefano is always very enthusiastic and proud of his food and rightly so. In my opinion his food and attention to detail make him worthy of the Trip Advisor best food in Scotland award. Like any thing good I am happytoI tell all my family and friends about Amore and after just one visit they become converted too!

This is a chip shop, and its not even great. This is absolutely not a restaurant by any means so shouldn't be here. I don't think a lot of these reviews are genuine- there are better fish shops on most high streets in Glasgow!

I have been going to this chip shop for several years now and never been disappointed.The staff are always friendly and welcoming and the food is always good quality.The owner hates anyone to be unhappy with the service and goes out his way to make sure you are getting the best.On special occassions I have been given something free or a voucher .. even little gifts for the children at Christmas or Easter.The customers are made to feel like part of a big family.

We decided we had to visit Pizza Amore when it showed up as no 1 restaurant in Glasgow. We were dubious about the honesty of some of the rave reviews and wanted to see for ourselves. We decided to have fish and chips, and it was very nice. The owner went to great lengths to demonstrate that his products were fresh and even offered us some free chips and fried mushrooms while we waited for our order. I would recommend Pizza Amore as a chip shop but it shouldn't be considered to be a restaurant - there are so many fantastic restaurants in Glasgow that are far more worthy of the number 1 spot.

I got a pizza from this dive a couple of months ago due to the online reviews (which I think are fictitious nonsense)The pizza was stodgy with poor quality topping and very expensive. If I were trip adviser I would be alarmed that a place like this can get into the top 1000 never mind nunber 1.Sort it out trip adviser as the reviews on here must be the friends and family of this terrible place. Avoid as you will be disappointed and ripped off
