Following on from the below review, again I’m a bit miffed… Ordered the spicy nachos and it arrived in a pizza box with all the cheese stuck to the roof of the box and there were no jalapeños? Which is the entire point of the spicy nachos? The kebab meat was like leather. I don’t understand what’s going on with this place, it’s usually so good?

Why are all the kids meals with chips apart from chicken strips? Makes no sense when they’re the same price. There’s no difference between deep & thin pan pizza, we’ve compared this on numerous occasions and now just go for thin. Forgot my paid for chillis on the last pizza we ordered which was annoying. We really like the food from here, the delivery time is 10/10 and it’s fresh but these little things keep irritating us. Delivery driver wonderful as always, she’s an absolute gem!

Great fish and chips exceptionally very good and I got the vegetarian pizza better than all the pizza shops around Wakefield highly recommended!!!!

Very poor quality donner meat. Quite a tough ish texture. The chicken “shawarma” was fatty… margarita pizza was OK nothing special. Garlic bread with “spicy tomato sauce wasn’t anything special. Asked for thin base wasn’t thin at all… very doughy both the pizza and g bread. First time trying and sadly it’ll be our last.

I ordered for delivery for the first time. Ordered regular fish and chips X2 last night. The food was amazing and hot. Thank you, I will be ordering again 😀

Well I originally ordered through deliveroo. And deliveroo sent my food to the wrong address no question's asked and they accepted the food I had payed four. But when I contacted the takeaway the lady on the phone and the manager were really understanding and really helpful and sent another really quickly and fresh would definitely recommend just don't order through deliveroo order direct

Had fish and chips a few weeks ago beautiful top quality good sized portion, called again to enjoy the same, long wait in an empty shop miserable uninterested staff and much smaller portion won’t be going back

This used to be a very good chip shop but recently the chips are so bad, they are dry and hard. probably heated up from the previous day

We have been using JJ’s for a few weeks now. We order every Friday for the care home I work at for 25 residents. The fish is always high quality lovely white big flakes. The batter is crispy and light. In fact all the food the residents order is delicious. The staff are so friendly and helpful. Especially Kelly. I would highly recommend. Thank you guys xx

Fish & Chips are always amazing & customer service is top notch

This place has gone downhill so far that I have reduced my stars to a 1 and to be honest it should be minus 5. The Mrs just came back after spending £27 and the food is shocking, hard chips (From Yesterday no doubt) and completely different kebab meat from the last time. Nearly all the food ended up in the bin. Its the last time we will spend any money there and I REALLY advise you all to do the same. Such a shame they have gone the same way as most other places. Shocking

Ordered special tonight it was definitely not a special. Paid £10 for regular size fish & chips. Very disappointing!!

Excellent service friendly staff food always spot on all the time.

Good all round food. I cannot complain about that. And for the best part, clean and tidy. A bit of waiting. More than I'm used to from a fish shop and two customers were charged the wrong price whilst I was there. This caused a bit of a disagreement.

I am not allowed too much fatty food. So this place is a real treat. All food so far the family and friends have had Has been spot on.

We have had fish and chips from jj's quite a few times.they have always been really nice and made fresh.staff are really nice.and the portions are huge.

Moved near here a couple of months ago and these are the best fish and chips I have had. All our friends agree and we now have fish and chip nights at ours regularly. Staff are friendly and polite and service is excellent. Would recommend this place.

Great tasting food, been a few times now. Compared to other nearby fish&chip shops their food doesn't taste like its been cooked in years old oil. Their kitchen is very clean and staff are friendly. Highly recommended.

So far for me this is the best fish and chips takeaway for me. I called in today for a fish,chips and curry sauce. When I got back home I didn't realise the size of the fish and chips for 1. I really enjoyed the fish so flaky and a crisp bubbly batter. This fish shop was recommended highly from my neighbours from kettlethorpe. When I'm next in the mood for fish and chips I would highly recommend this place.

I reserved judgement being that it's a new business but my friend and I had bad guts after eating here for a good few hours the other week, could have been caused by eating while we walked and ate but I've done that many times by the coas!, the first time I ate here was great though. Covid secure. Very friendly place, looks very clean, great staff. Maybe just us on that day....

well we ordered at 6pm through just eat was told are order would be here by 7 then at 7pm got told 7.45 rang at 7.45 to see where my order was as i had 2 kids waiting for there food to then be told its getting packed up to go i understand that places get busy but if id have know it would be 2 hours befor i got my order id have ordered else where to then get an attitude off a woman "owner" because i said it wasn't good enough and that i shouldn't have had to wait 2 hours i apriciate busy times but the service just wasnt good enough!! absolutely disgusted

Had fish and chips Saturday 27th feb. First time using this shop since it opened. They were very nice and good value. Recommended them to my son who went this evening weds 3rd and rang to say that they were “vile”, even the dog wouldn’t eat them. I can’t comment on what may have changed but if they’re going to be that inconsistent I won’t take the risk. Reply They were cold,dry and chips were crispy and hard to the point you couldn’t chew them

Tried JJ's for 5he first time tonight. Really nice fish and chips, and big portion size of fish. The staff were friendly and apologetic for the wait (which wasn't that long) but because of covid restrictions it's one out one in and the food was cooked to order. The whole family commented on how good the food was and the youngest like his kids meal box. Winner winner fish dinner 😁😁

Good product & great service considering the current restrictions. It’s nice to have a chippy back in the area following the burning down of the wooden shack chippy years ago. Good luck.
