My family of 4 stopped here to eat during our driving trip around Scotland. We all got traditional breakfasts, which were delicious with big portions. The service was very good and we got our food fast. That night, my wife realized that she had lost her fanny pack. We contacted JJ's Cafe and they told us that they had found it at our table. We were already back on the road by then, so there was no way for us to return to Fort William to retrieve it. We asked them to ship it to our house in the USA, and they did! I would go back to JJ's Cafe for the good food and service alone, but I would ABSOLUTELY go back for the opportunity to support a business like this whose owners and employees care this much about their customers. Thank you!!!

We enjoy coming to JJ's. Why- because all the food is created by Jane and as for the cakes they are great. Not the cheapest and certainly not the most expensive. Good quality food in the style that we silver tops remember. Been coming here since they started, love it. Well done Jane and John.

My husband and I stopped here on a whim when we just couldn't stand going to another Costa! We were not disappointed. It's a homely looking place with lots of seating and a small gift shop in front. My husband had many full Scottish breakfasts on our trip and when I asked him which was the best he said JJ's. I had beautifully cooked sunny side up eggs with hash browns, tomato and tattie scones. The portions are very generous! Many locals came in to get there morning rolls and square sausage. Definitely a locals kind of place.

Every bit as convenient if you're using the bus station or parked to shop in Morrison's as the cafe in Morrison's. But one is corporate supermarket fare, the other is locally owned, home made and just as keen on price, with a nicer vibe. By the way, Trip Advisor, we don't have any such thing as a 'train station' here - this side of the Atlantic they are called railway stations.

I often drop by to have a bite to eat at JJ's café. I have put them down as excellent because the overall package is exactly what one should expect in a fast moving café. The prices are set correctly, the dining areas are clean and tidy, but what one needs mostly in a place like this is staff that are helpful and conscientious. What is worse than being served by people that wish they weren't there and positively miserable. JJ's café is the exact opposite to that. Although John the owner is not a well man he always has a smile on his face. Well done JJ's, you have my vote of excellence.

We had a team of 22 visiting Fort William to climb the Three Peaks Challenge, and wanted to ensure we were adequately fuelled up for the first climb. We booked an area at JJ's, having visited a few years ago, and knew it was reliable. We were greeted by John, who ensured we had enough space and then waited for us to select our breakfasts. The most popular seemed to be the Belly Buster, which offered the usual bacon, sausage, egg, toast, beans, etc. but also added in black pudding, haggis, Lorne sausage and potato scone. All tasted fantastic, and the coffee was also excellent. The selection of cakes and filled rolls looked amazing as well, but my belly was well and truly busted so they had to remain on the counter.Facilities are good - if you're a book worm, bring an old book and take part in the book swap (some good titles on offer), there are also some local crafts (knitted children's clothes and the like) and clean toilets, which are often essential :) Lots of parking, and very reasonably priced - we'll be back in two years, and would definitely recommend it to anyone!

Came here with boyfriend for brunch. Both had the all day breakfast. There was a bigger option of a belly buster. But decided to stick with the smaller portion. It was more than enough. Sausage, beans, bacon, egg, blackpudding and hash brown. On top of that there was 2 slice of toast and butter. The quality of the food was top notch with the black pud tasting divine. The egg was cooked perfectly and the sausage was of very good quality. Would highly recommend a visit here. And if you have room take a look at the home made cakes. I didn't have room but wished I had. They looked excellent. Breakfast was reasonably priced and worth every penny.

We sat out many rainy days here, no one ever hurried us out and staff (and other local customers) were always friendly. The breakfasts and coffee were great. Other meals are basic and there is not a great range of soft drinks on offer - but it's all fine enough. It's obviously a place for locals and visitors to hang out in a relaxed 'homely' way, rather than aspiring to be some super-duper fancy place - and we enjoyed it all the more for that. Plenty of tables and lots of space, with free parking outside. The baby changing toilet facilities and toys on offer to use whilst there were really handy for relaxing with our 6 month old daughter whilst having a coffee or two on several occasions (given the rain stopped us being able to venture very far in Scotland this summer!)

I've had some breakfasts in my time, but none that hit the spot quite like their big Belly Buster full Scottish breakfast. After our previous day's trek up Ben Nevis, out of four fully grown men two were defeated by the size of the portions, but two triumphed. Sausages, eggs, toast, bacon, beans, mushrooms, black pudding - you name it, it was there, and great value too. The owners, Jane and John, were outstanding and very welcoming. Couldn't recommend JJ's more highly and I shall certainly be returning.

After going on here on the recommendation of a work colleague I had high hopes. He obviously bears me some sort of grudge. Perhaps there was in fact a decent coffee house in the surroundings of Fort William. The smell of greasy food wafted out into the car park. Inside the dingey cavern it was like a cross between a crèche and and old village hall. The only saving grace was the really friendly wee guy serving. He was so nice I felt guilty to walk out but instead ordered a cup of tea and swiftly drive onto the next place I'm about to review!!

my partner and I stopped for a break after travelling over 300 miles. Feeling tired and hungry we ordered fish n chips and lasagne and tea to drink. We waited almost 30 mins for our food that looked like it been salvaged from a burnt out skip! The lasagne had been clearly over cooked in the microwave as the cheese was rock hard and the layers of pasta were like plastic... couldn't find the meat! It was immediately sent back and a fresh one promised. The fish and chips were almost as bad with the fish over cooked. The chips were a soggy mess. 2nd lasagne arrived looking a little better until I tried to cut it, hard and plasticky still, my chips had been refried. Pretty sure the chips were oven chips that had been deep fried instead. Most of the menu says HOMEMADE... I dont believe this for one second after what we were served! Beware that farmfoods store is next door.... very expensive even if the food wouldve been quality but this wouldnt have made it in to my pigswill bucket!!.

I have visited JJ's on several occasions now and will cntinue to do so whenever I visit Fort William. I have to adhere to a gluten-free diet so eating out can be awkward at times. Breakfasts can be a particular problem because if items are cooked or stored together. JJ's go out of their way to accomodate my needs and nothing has been too much trouble. The cafe itself is delightful and homely with a diversity of seating which lets you know straight away that you are not in something belonging to a faceless national chain. There is a play area for kids, shelves of books for adults and the wall are covered with fascinating maps and railway themed photos of the region. The food is always cooked to requirements and I have never had cause for complaint. The staff are very welcoming and have never yet simply taken our order without also having a chat and showing an interest in us.
