A very traditional 'greasy spoon' but reasonably priced nice food.

A really pukka caff. Great food and friendly, professional, customer service. Breakfasted on a double bacon sandwich with mushrooms and a mug of tea. Bacon crisp and bread excellent. Filling and tasty and £4.60. Why go to a junk food shop when you can relax, chat and read the papers here? Will be back for the homemade spag bog and their Thai food specials. A real jewel in a unprepossessing setting. Close to buses and overground.

Didnt really enjoy my experience here. Found the place filthy with the mug not clean, dirty ketchup bottle. Price was reasonable. Place decor very back in time and tired. Inside is spacious and has a lot more potentials. The place could really do with a renovation.

Cheap cooked-breakfasts and tasty Thai food. Looks uninviting because of the curtains on the windows but it's nice and spacious inside, and they are really friendly

If this pub wasn’t Stonegate it’d be awesome but because they have no idea of growing a food business they just shut a kitchen ! Beautiful pub but no soul, staff in a footy top , watching loud videos eating food and downing bottles of Coca Cola ! This pub could be so much better!

Top chefs, food bloggers, Topjaw etc hang your respective heads in shame. The hype I've been hearing about Singburi over the last circa 2 years meant I made it a life's mission to visit this place. Slow forward 2 years later and a near 2 hour drive having not had a reservation but I'm from Brixton so we seldom take no for an answer, I arrived with no booking but having used my charm offensive I was seated by the wonderfully rude owner (she who will shall not be named). I really really really thought I'd then go on to experience one of the culinary delights of my life after hearing all the hype from the aforementioned social media dons. Fast forward an hour later and this was pound for pound one of the worst dining experiences I've ever had. Bland food, overcooked, chewy, zero depth of flavour I could go on, myself and my missus stared at each other in disbelief but respectfully kept our council, afterall nobody forced us to come here, least of all (she who cannot be named). My one take from this whole experience was how people on social media are sheep and refuse to tell the truth and get caught up in the hype. Even as we queued before dining the people outside were telling us just how amazing this place is. Thankfully I have ticked Singburi off my list and will not return but this place that is apparently booked up for the next year won't miss me. Lesson learned on my part but I'm glad I did it as it reaffirmed that the woke community that hypes almost everything just to fit in are most certainly fast asleep. For those of you who had a similar experience to me and I know you are many. Go the an incredible Asian fusion experience in Tooting called Bobochacha. This will fix everything and rekindle your culinary faith in humanity.

We used to go to The Hitchcock when it first had a decent restaurant. In the beginning it was fine but gradually prices went up and favourite dishes disappeared off of the menu. My guess is that people stopped going because they mistook their potential audience. So we stayed away. With some trepidation we decided to give it a try because there was a new menu and different owners. We weren’t disappointed. We had starters from the snacks menu, which are well priced. I then had the best short rib of beef I’ve ever had. So much beef I couldn’t finish it but expertly cooked with excellent mash. My wife had the Pacific Prawns which looked - and she said they were - great. We had a nice bottle of wine and very good service from our server. We will certainly be back as what’s not to love. A very good restaurant and Epping Forest!
